201  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC investment on: April 18, 2015, 06:16:46 PM
Hi guys.

I'm a newbie, and I need some help . . .
I wanted to try invest some money in BTC, and I made a Bitstamp account and downloaded Electrum wallet.
Anyway, all this security talk really scared me, so I goggled a lot on hot vs cold storage, and making a cold wallet for me sounded a bit complicated.
I have a bit of a dilemma now. Since I plan to buy only about 2BTC for starters, Is it better for me to keep it in a cold or hot wallet?
I was reading about Bitstamp's recent breach in security so I was going for the colde wallet, but it seems a lot of hussle just for a 2btc.
Is it a really that risky to keep it on some server somewhere?

PS. Sorry for my bad English. It is my second language . . .
Smiley

Don't trust any online service. Bitcoin means freedom and it's better if you keep them yourself. Follow some tutorial here to make a cold wallet, if you want to move your bitcoins at the beginning, hot wallet is ok, just follow basic computer security.
202  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Storing Bitcoin on: April 18, 2015, 06:03:44 PM
I've got about $700 that I want to use to buy Bitcoin and hold it for the long run. I am having a hard time choosing where I want to store this coin, encrypted desktop wallet, blockchain.info, blockchain.info paper wallet, TREZOR, or something else. If I go with a TREZOR then I'll only have around $600 to spend on buying coin. What do you guys think is my best option for storing 3 Bitcoins for the long run?

I suggest you a paper wallet to protect your bitcoins. You can find some tutorials here Smiley

213  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Privacy Question on: April 16, 2015, 03:02:59 PM
Let's say I regularly send BTC back and forth between wallet #1 and wallet #2.  I'm receiving BTC and I don't want the sender to link me to wallet #1 and its transaction history.  Is my privacy increased at all by having him send to wallet #2 instead of wallet #1 or will I be linked to wallet #1 for sure no matter which wallet he sends to?

Use a bitcoin mixer for more privacy Wink

somebody has a link to a working blockchain?
http://cryptobe.com/chain/Cypher seems to be down...  Huh

Hi,

a new block explorer : http://blockexperts.com/cyp

Stay tuned for more news in these days and thanks again for your support.

Problem solved quickly! Good job Cypher Team!
Since it's on Bittrex, buys are always around seven times higher than sells, seems like a huge accumulation, what will happen next days? Shocked
215  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining Requirements on: April 16, 2015, 02:44:38 PM
what , you through a dedicated server is needed to  mine bitcoin , nah , you just need a powerful Gpu , or
Asic hardware that will be more powerful mining bitcoin and also more cheap .

GPU day's are really over for most.  Even with cheap electricity you need an asic not a GPU rig.

Even if you run at a profit I don't see any way to ROI on a GPU rig anymore.

Try Qubit mining like me, you can still make good ROI Wink

Update about the progress on our project: in this moment we're working on the technical documentation.
Sunday we're going to post the second part of the Cypherkey specs, where we describe the cypher software in detail.
We're very happy seeing the huge support you're giving to us, thank you again.

Cypher Team

Thanks for the update! I see Cypher it's still in Bittrex Top 10, this coin is very stable.

As promised we are releasing more details about part of our roadmap, today we will talk about CypherKey and CypherCore, as essential part of our bigger project called CypherNetwork.

CypherKey is a physical tool (custom usb keychain) for all Cypher users, which combines features like:

1) Cypher Software
2) Multi-OS Support
3) Full Data Encryption
4) Dynamic Data Managing
5) Steganography
6) Cypher VPN

and more, with AES-512 encryption to guarantee privacy.

CypherCore is another physical tool (custom wireless band), required to make CypherKey work correctly which has:

1) unique ID
2) proximity sensor
3) works as 2FA
4) notification (vibration, light and sound)

We won't talk about CypherNetwork today, we will release more details in the near future. Development of CypherKey and CypherCore will start tomorrow. Technical documentation will be released as soon as we are ready, it's important for us now to protect our project so we can't disclose too much informations.

A few words for Cypher investors and users: a sincere thank you from Cypher developers, thank you for supporting us and making Cypher well-known in Alt-Currencies world.

Stay tuned, much more to come.

Cypher Team - 31337 Cryptocurrency

This is a great idea, makes me think about Ulbricht and his arrest. With stuff like cyphercore you would be safe Smiley

buy support are appearing and disappearing.....1 to 6 btc

People are selling.

I don't see the point in having an anonyme physical usb key or wireless band if you need to receive it by mailbox.   Roll Eyes

Clarification from the dev team would be needed.

I checked Cypher website and a section called "STORE" appeared, something big is coming!

Im still wondering how this got on cryptsy. Crave isn't even on cryptsy. lol Maybe cryptsy knows something we don't.

Probably because Cypher is much more promising?  Roll Eyes
