This might be a good thing if those of us with NVidia cards lying around could be on par with a uber-CPU setup without being a sellout to Radeon Farms. My Core 2 Duo gets about 6khash while I'm using and can go up to 11 when the stars are right, while I have a GT335m that could totally pull some decent weight. Course, if NVidia is viable, that might make Amazon Mining a feasible reality, and then who knows what will happen?

Hey, interested in Litecoin's web miner in particular, since I'm running one of Hexxeh's Lime builds of Chromium OS. (.5 seconds from Closed Laptop to Working Laptop, mostly.) Anyway, it does have a version of Java on it that it finicky with Java Web Start, but applets should work fine, which is why it's bothering me why it isn't working. Where would be a good jumping off point to find out where the holdup is, what can be done, and possibly figuring out how to port the original C miner to the all-powerful Native Client, since Chrome has ties directly into hardware? PS: The version I'm using is from January, since the newer version doesn't play nice with my hardware, so if any of you guys are interested in making a boot stick, here is what I am using. It's an .img file, so burn that how you would. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/24460824/ChromeOS-Lime-1563.0.2012_01_12_1649-r69628700.ziphttp://chromeos.hexxeh.net/lime.php

That fix works great when Chromium is the OS. Guess I have to wait until that particular fix is mainlined then.

It downloads the .jnlp file when I try to go to Bitminter, and I can't seem to get Chrome to recognize that it can run that file because it does have Java. I can open a shell script on it though, but when I try to run it there, it throws a fit about basename or something. Any ideas?

You don't really. But if you could point a browser to a website, and mine the live long day at full power, that simplifies things a whole lot for people who don't have program running permissions. Bastion works a little too well on my Chromium install, tripping the overheat limit, so for sure the power is there, it's all a matter of application.

I signed up for a Dwolla a little while after the announcement, and I was accepted for instant transfer within a couple weeks. I'm gonna assume the newness of the account had something to do with it, but if it was random, then it was random.

Simu-post from here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=6074415 Radio Shack Card $20 Best Buy Card $25 iTunes Card One of each. Looking for Gox Certificate or BTC Proper, equivalent value OBO. Just want to offload some Christmas stuffs that I wasn't quite interested in. I can send you the physical card or PM you the magic numbers, although as fair warning, I did scratch the scratch part to double check the balances. On the Best Buy card, it's only good for non-marketplace items, so you might want to keep that in mind. Regarding reliability, I haven't done much trading on #bitcoin-otc, but I do have an established ebay page and bitmarket.eu account, for what it's worth.

Necro-Bump, because I have the same question, and I've been on a Chromium OS bender on a gaming laptop for the past couple days.

I understand the frustration on not being able to do anything with the hashes to put towards anything else, but if it's putting the work of the processors towards it's own security devices, then that's how their system works.
Would be nice if I could use a hybrid miner client that puts CPU on Folding@Home, and GPU on Bitcoin, or since I have a Nvidia card, be able to get the ~10 MH I would from that and divert the rest to Boinc or Folding.
