201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins with BitCoin Like Growth Potential on: November 27, 2016, 03:45:18 PM
None. I won't let you dream of something that will never happen, that would be nasty toward you. Bitcoin is unique and likely to be never replaced, whatever some people will say you. Your best bet for a big profit is to buy Bitcoin using fiat money and then hold it for a few years.
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Power supply for 4x470 on: November 27, 2016, 03:36:07 PM
What I recommend to you is to use at least a gold 1000W PSU. I doesn't cost that more and it will enable you to do whatever you want. I personnaly use a 1000W PSU on my ADM rig, featuring 2x R9 380 and 2x RX 470.
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: end of ETH mining on 2G cards on: November 27, 2016, 03:33:52 PM
It was a sure thing to happen, though it's sad. What I hope for you guys is that you'll find those cards another use and for all people I met here and to whom I recommended to don't buy 2 Gb cards that they listened to me !
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 2 PSU mining rigs - risks? on: November 27, 2016, 03:30:28 PM
From what I've saw here, there's a few people using that kind of setup, and none reported any kind of failure to my hear until that day.
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU Rig PORN on: November 27, 2016, 03:28:52 PM
The cards are a bit too close for my taste and there's a lot of vertical space wasted but it does look good.

Yes, they are close, that's true, but at last I have to say that it is impressive. I'd have attached PC case fans to the metal front bar, but that's because I like them so much.
206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: does it matter what CPU you have when building a mining rig on: November 27, 2016, 11:41:17 AM
Just take the cheapest, that's still that you won't have to take into account in your ROI. The limitations will be somthing like 1-2% at most.
207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v8.0 on: November 26, 2016, 01:38:52 PM
I'm building 2 rigs i bought 6 rx 470's for my first rig should i buy r9 390's for my second rig ? Less used r9 390 second hands with warranty cost like 255-265 dollar in here(these cards used 2 month without oc) and rx 470's cost me 235 dollar. Any tips ?

Al will depend of your electrical cost. Higher it will be, higher I recommend you to prefer the RX 470s. With the price I'm paying, that's the one I chose.

Sadly the great profitability of ZCash calmed down

Still dependent on specific details, like what cards you're running and power cost.

It looks like many of the older AMD cards are still quite a bit more profitable (HD 7870 hands down, R9 280x) while others have gotten back to more even.

That's what the basket is all about - one coin bumps up on profitability, the others have folks move out to that one coin, and the profitability evens out.

They're all still profitable, but as much as I'd like. I pay my electricity at a rate of about 0,18$/KWh, so I can't run anything older than the last generation. An R9 380 brings me only about 18$ monthly after electricity has been paid, so not very interesting...

Phil , how do you sell your ZEC ?
do you sell everything ? with a feature like auto-sell , or do you follow the charts ?

I sell the ZEC the moment it is in my exchange account. I reckon it will drop to 60-70% of current price due to the increased supply.

I stopped mining zec and went to Nicehash multi.
I'm getting the same pay all the way around right now (zec/xmr/eth)
And it's straight into my btc account

the latest v1.7.3.6 have now integrated Claymore Zcash miner v8 !!!

what this means is...... we have Claymore's magic miner running as long as Zacsh is profitable, AND when Zcash is not profitable anymore... NH miner will switch to next profitable algo..... sounds like we have a winner here.

That's very good news ! Sadly the great profitability of ZCash calmed down, so I now switched it off. I'll maybe just restart the RX 470 in some days.

Well, what you're saying is very intelligent, I never thought that way. That may be intelligent then to save, but with people with little rigs like me (210 H/s), taking a drop of value would kill like a week of mining and would not be very good for my monthly balance. What I'll do is maybe to dedicate a R9 380 to mining ZCash to my Poloniex account, since the other ones are mining to my Bittrex account, with auto-sell enabled.

Have you checked if auto-sell is profitable for you ?
It looks like this interesting feature always sell at a lower price that the one you would expect.

No, checked nothing. Heck, if I earn 10% less, I don't care. That's such a peace of mind you know. At least now I don't constantly check altcoins' prices. I even forgot my rigs at some moments Wink !

For the debate of today, to speak in W/H, I'm at 1. However, if I consider only my two RX 470, I'm at a blazing 0,72. However, that does only count the cards, so that might be less accurate, but that still gives an idea of how it is performing.

since the BTC is trending up now, why not sell your hash at Nicehash and get BTC rightway?

That would be my dream you know, but on my Nvidia miner it doesn't work so forget about it and on my AMD rig, my main rig, I never went long enough in the analyse. It always crashed, but never took time to just see what the error is (because I have one screen for the two miners, and the VGA cable is going from on to another, and it always crashed when it was on the other rig). I'll think about that tomorrow Wink !

Good Job Man!!!!!
windows screen capture
How are you keeping your temps that low, my 390x sits at 93c Sad

Well, it depends a lot about where you live. My cards are around 55°C mining ZCash, 60°C mining Ethereum, and I have set the thing so that for 1°C my fans go at 1%, so 55% and 60%.
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v6.0 on: November 15, 2016, 09:09:25 PM
I have the weirdest problem. I start hashing quite stable and well. After I leave the rig (stop using the mouse etc), hashrate starts to drop a lot. When I move the mouse again the hashrate is back up. Same problem was with v5 too. Anyone else having this weird issue?

Very weird issue mate Cheesy ! Could you please check the CPU usage at both moments ? That might be a cause for me.

By the way what's the better intensity and what it does stand for ?
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My new XMR+ ETH thread builds info and other stuff thoughts and photos included. on: November 15, 2016, 08:19:41 PM
Claymore v6 is a blessing !!! Now, ZCash came a lot more profitable ! It is now even twice more profitable than Ethereum ! I gained an overal of 160 H/s on 2x RX 470 and 2x R9 380 ! Calymore Kiss.

yup, these big h/r increases alone have kept ZEC mining profitable vs ETH.  Even going back to v4 it would probably be close to a toss-up but v6 at least doubles the h/r of v2, or at least that's what it seems like based on early reports. I just started running v5 this morning and went from 65 to 110 on my RX 470s!  While that was amazing it looks like another 30-40 is possible with v6.  Still waiting to see more posts about wattage draw and heat with v6 since i am away from my rig this week but v5 had no increases vs v4 but we will see.  Saw at least 2 people post on the Claymore thread that v6 increased wattage pull by about 10-15W per card, but others have refuted that so who knows.

I'm at 75~80W for about 130 H/s on my RX 470s. For the R9 380, I can't unfortunately tell you since there is not a precise wattmeter included in Afterburner for it.

I'd like to know some things :

-What is the real utility of the intensity ? I checked all : 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4, and what I've found is very minimalistic. No more than 10 H/s of difference and no more than a few watts of consumption. So I went for nothing specified (so 4 according to the automatic text that displays when you open the miner command). Is it a wise choice according to you ?

-What is your pool ? I've been on Flypool for a long time, after a few days passed on Suprnova and Coinmine, that did not satisfied me. I've still not done a complete day on Flypool, but I'll try to do that, to know what's my real earnings there. The problem is that I can't compare to anything else given the numbers going crazily down or high. I wouldn't mind earning 5-10% on Flypool if it is consistent because of the sleek design that I love.

I'll wait for it. I hope that it will fix the problem I'm currently facing with my R9 380 to don't be used (though listed at the beggining, their hashrate stays at 0).

THX for the detailed info about your system. My crystal ball tells me you may have to do the following:

A workaround for rigs with mixed cards (Polaris and old cards): start two miners with "-di" option, one for Polaris cards and second for other cards. Use "-mport 0" option to disable port for remote management and avoid red message in second miner.
I will fix it soon.

I've found that solution by myself, but I'd prefer to don't have to run two windows, for the space it takes on the screen and for the ability to see the total hashrate in a single window.
He said he is fixing it, so it will probably be included in tomorrows speed update.

Okay, perfect, I'll wait for that update Smiley !

So guys, high mem low core is not the trend anymore it seems. Anyone tried clocking with the new miner?

I personally do something like low core standard memory, and I manage to get a bit more than 100 H/s for 75W on an RX 470.

I'm wondering why you are all rushing to mine ZCash. It find it less profitable than Ethereum. Moreover Flypool is abosultely not giving me what I should get.
I am at Nicehash mining ZEC for BTC.
~25% lower powerdraw than ETH

I am doing more profits from ZEC on a daily basis for sure.

How the hell is it possible ? Both Whattomine and NiceHash calculator give me Ethereum a lot more profitable. There would even be a 3$ gap for me between them. That might be related to my configuration, but in my case Ethereum is a lot more profitable. I'd go for NiceHash given the pain it would save me, but considering that it doesn't work on my Nvidia rig, I had to ignore that option.

This may be an interesting site to evaluate the most profitable coin based upon equipment and capabilities:

http://whattomine.com

That's what I use. However, most the profits are not correct. All the ccminer-based coins (Vertcoin, Feathercoin...) are very accurate, but in case of Ethereum, that's not wonderful. And I don't even talk about ZCash Cheesy ! I've passed to Ethermine to see if that pool is reliable or not and I'll advise about where to settle.

Here is the ETH that I use along with Ethpool.org.  This combo have been very good for me.  I do not dual, I just use the single.

Download Claymore's Dual Miner

I'm far from being new you know Cheesy ! I already have Claymore's miner, that's a must-have. I was just asking if someone knows why my real earnings are a lot inferior to what has been predicted.

In a day I will release new version. More speed. About 200H/s on stock Nano. Hope it will finally stop this crazy speed racing.
