201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin expensive to use on: November 26, 2017, 06:44:37 PM
The fee is not fixed. It can be 0.001, 0.00001, 0.00054321, or even as low as 0.00000001. The amount you pay is the minimum amount that you think is enough to motivate a miner to process your transaction instead of someone else's transaction.

I agree that Bitcoin is expensive for small transactions. Though most of the wallets enable you to edit fee for slower confirmation time sms don't. Today while withdrawing from Bittrex they charged 0.001 which is $9 and is a huge amount which is not even editable.
202  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Best Bitcoin Wallet for iOS? [Not Supporting S2X & will keep my Bitcoin safe] on: November 26, 2017, 09:26:45 AM
Blockchain.info would be my go to choice for iOS Bitcoin wallet. Have been since without any problems. And how you can convert to ETH on the go though the fees are very high.
203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Will Blockchain Evolve Over The Next 5 Years ? on: November 26, 2017, 09:20:28 AM
Right now, blockchain technology is not very useful and practical for most applications. If we focus focus on Bitcoin’s best and worst features we can predict how it will evolve for the further years. Currently the Bitcoin blockchain takes several minutes to confirm a single transaction. Compare this to your transactions on your mobile phone using, say, ApplePay transactions are nearly instantaneous. So any application requiring high volume and quick confirmation times is not a great application to be put on the Bitcoin blockchain for the near future. Whether this will change within 5 years is a guess.
204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Massive Bitcoin Core smear campaign on reddit's r/btc on: November 26, 2017, 04:11:12 AM
Many people got into tricked that BCH will overtake BTC because of Segwit 2x drop and BTC fees going high. And the pump and dump caused a massive price variation. But sadly a lot people lost their money and the big whales made a fortune. One thing I learned is whenever BTC drops it will come back much stronger. I have been following both the subreddits and yeah there are a lot of difference. That begin said even r/Bitcoin is highly censored.

205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is this Good TIme to Invest in Ether at Price 470$ ? Short or Long Term? on: November 25, 2017, 05:06:21 PM
If you are planning for a long term than go for Ethereum without any choice. Ether is used like fuel to run distributed apps (Dapps). Each computation in a dapp uses gas, which costs ether.

As more and more Dapps are developed, more Ether is going to get consumed to keep them running. So aside from being a store of value, Ether is going to work like Oil; which is why buying and holding Ether is better than traditional stores of value like Gold.
206  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [H] 27$ Bitcoin [W] 26.6 USD Paypal Transaction To Be Paid on: November 25, 2017, 05:00:35 PM

208  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How does one find information on potential trades? on: November 24, 2017, 07:33:42 PM
I know you can find places that will charge you for insider info, that's not what I'm looking for. Is there any place I can find general information on coins that could rise?

I would suggest reddit Bitcoin markets to get some information on trading. Also go through coinmarketcap and keep a tab on the changes in the last 24 hours.
209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Goverments to go AGAINST Bitcoin on: November 24, 2017, 07:21:50 PM
In order for the government to go against Bitcoin they will have to ban the whole internet of the country. There are already countries who banned bitcoin other than china, so this is just a normal event on the cryptocurrency world. Also there are some countries already who trusted bitcoin and make it one of their currency, and one of them is Japan, so rest assured, bitcoin will still live and will keeping booming as always and will sooner lead to revolutionary period throughout the world industry. Other factors the government can use to go against BTC is to Ban mining, ICO, Ban exchanges
etc.
210  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Convert BTC currency for Paypal on: November 24, 2017, 05:15:06 PM
Don't fall for such scams. First of all there are charging a premium price and secondly you don't know whether they are legit. If you want to convert your BTC to Paypal you can post here in this section and get it done. But be sure your deal with someone trusted and not with newbies waiting for a chance to scam you.
211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin hits $13,000 on Zimbabwe exchange on: November 23, 2017, 07:22:03 PM
These exchanges are disgusting, taking complete advantage of struggling citizens. Then again, nothing is stopping the same citizens from also selling higher, as long as the buyer is also in Zimbabwe. I guess all is fair.

They are not taking advantage of their citizens, if you know what's happening on Zimbabwe they have to do it to attract more investors to get in to bitcoin and besides there's an uproaring war there so everything's started to make their own move to make their economy stable. It's not available for people outside Zimbab so if you someone thinks that they can go at Zimbabwe and just sell their bitcoins, think again.

The same goes India. Here the current price of BTC as of now is INR 588000 which comes up to $9100. But the selling price is also almost close to buying price. Most of the trading is done within the country because of the the inability to effectively move INR. If not anyone could make shit loads of money by arbitrage. The free market of bitcoin is essentially putting a markup on BTC purchased with INR because the market itself is saying INR has less value than the official exchange rates, likely because of portability of INR itself and the restrictive regulations the Indian government uses to control INR.
212  Local / India / Re: what is the future of Bitcoin in India? on: November 23, 2017, 06:30:32 PM
No one can assure that the future of Bitcoin will be bright. How demonetisation was announced out of thin air, what if the government issues Bitcoin exchanged to be closed? And Bitcoin will also be linked to corruption and what not.

Also Bitcoin is at a very premium price in India. Its is around 60K higher than the actual global exchange rates.
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best altcoins to buy now on: November 23, 2017, 06:26:22 PM
I would go for IOTA as it seems have a bright future and the potential to grow as the technology offers efficient and feeless transactions. It is highly due to late scaling issues of Bitcoin.

And second would be ETH as everyone as mentioned.
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Neoconnect - The ideal connection to the successful future. on: November 23, 2017, 06:21:14 PM
Is there any ANN thread to look into? Also how as you mentioned low fees etc, so how does it compare to other altcoins with the same aim like IOTA?
215  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Bitcoin Gold on: November 23, 2017, 04:48:10 PM
I used the instructions from reddit to claim by Bitcoin gold. Anyone who wants can refer to this

https://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMarkets/comments/7db1hk/a_method_of_claiming_bitcoin_gold_btg_coins_right/

Also for electrum its is much safer if you create a new wallet and transfer all your BTC to it. Then use the private keys of the old wallet and sweep as per instructions given. This will ensure all your Bitcoin from old wallet to be safe. And your private keys will have only the BTC you had before 25th of october.
216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin cash on: November 23, 2017, 04:41:17 PM
Bitcoin cash was created as a separate chain of Bitcoin. The main aim was to eliminate the high fees and faster confirmation of Bitcoin which they so claim to be Satoshi's vision and hence the real Bitcoin. But there have been a lot of heated arguments between the both parties. Though BCH has faster confirmation and lower fees in most cases it cannot handle large transactions. So I would say it doesn't actually solve the Bitcoin problem.

Two weeks back and huge pump and dump from Korea and china made the BCH price rise from $600 to $2100 within 48 hrs. Some big investors made a lot of quick money and many lost. This has caused a new trend for people to wait for the next pump. Finally everything comes down to money. And a few people care about the actual technology.

You can choose which side you are on. Though I say BTC is the king here and will rise to the moon!
217  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Lending less than 0.1 BTC on: November 23, 2017, 12:26:29 PM
Pretty sure Poloniex exchange has the lending option in their exchange. But not sure what is required to start a lending service there or to borrow a loan. You can check it out.

Also this forums has a lending section which you might want to go through as its mentioned above. But you need a Co-lateral such as gift card, accounts or any other alt coins.
218  Economy / Digital goods / Re: WTB phone number verification on: November 23, 2017, 06:58:45 AM

219  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Selling Amazon e-codes and Walmart on: November 22, 2017, 07:51:56 PM
Which country are the Amazon codes valid for? Also since your are selling for around 50% then its too good to be true. Not accusing but can you provide any proof to show that you legitimately own the codes or purchased by you?
220  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Would like to Buy $5 in Bitcoin with Paypal on: November 22, 2017, 10:54:41 AM
I understand what you are trying to tell. But there have been so many scams here lately that you are probably not aware of. The most of them are by newbies. Even for pennies. You can check scam accusations section for proof. You never know the pain until you actually get scammed.

So don't get offended just because someone warned not to deal with you. Try to build trust here then someone will surely deal with you. Also there is a sticky thread on top which clearly tells the risks when dealing with Paypal.

Lastly since you mentioned that you are a seller on eBay. Send me the link to your item and I will contact you there to check if you really are a seller. Then I will take the risk and send you the Bitcoin for your Paypal. Sounds fair?
