201  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Betting on the price falling on: January 17, 2018, 11:29:30 PM
Don't let the market bluff. HODL, right now is actually the time to buy up some cheap coins.

Whenever bitcoin price falls down is a good time to buy in the dip. I'm regretting it right now, can't deposit yesterday and it's too late to buy at the moment compared to a few hours ago when the prices hit the bottom of the floor, most coins have regained the value and increases like 30-35%, even bitcoin slowly recover above $11K and maybe will get back to $13K soon.
Why betting on the price when you can get more profits by taking advantages of the market that declined significantly on January 17th? Just buy real bitcoin and altcoins then sell it at the peak after few days/weeks. If you have enough money, just bet on bitcoin futures which provided by cmc trading group or other companies. Cheesy
202  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reasons why Bitcoin is droping: on: January 17, 2018, 11:11:07 PM
I somewhat agree. People are really loosing interest to Bitcoin. That's why the price is going down. But in my opinion there are also some other reasons. First of all, it's huge price that doesn't let newbies buy Bitcoin, so bitcoins now literallty circulate between exchanges. Secondly, it's technical disadvantages of Bitcoin: slow speed, missing smart contract support, high fees. And thirdly, yes, it's passive dev team. Nothing is done to help it grow.

Well, bitcoin price fell to $9900 a few hours ago and that was the chance for everyone to buy cheaper bitcoin, even for now bitcoin still on discount time as long as it still below $13K as the new level of price for bitcoin in the last few weeks.
The biggest problem why bitcoin losing its value because the usability which fades away due to scale problem remains unsolved that cause too many unconfirmed transactions and we have to pay ridiculously high fees to pass the long queue.
203  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I’ve lost my Google Authenticator on: January 17, 2018, 10:48:01 PM
I have never tried it before, but I thought google authenticator can be re-install on another phone, then access your GA by submitting the email, password and verification code. If the new Google Authenticator you have installed has not been linked to your Google account with two-step verification, you can not use it.
Here some sources.
https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/1188780?vid=0-694078363559-1516283000915
If you lose your phones or otherwise can't get codes via text, voice call, or Google Authenticator, you can use backup codes to sign in. Follow the instructions below to generate backup codes. If you don't have your security key, you can also use these codes to sign in.
The codes come in sets of 10, and you can generate a new set at any point, automatically making the old set inactive. In addition, after you’ve used a backup code to sign in, it will become inactive.

204  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain web wallet problem on: January 17, 2018, 10:32:25 PM
I may suggest that move on different wallet, don't ever use blockchain.info wallet this site is really buggy, almost day by day there's some user of them reports and post here with different issues. It will give a hard time to its new users. If you still have 12 word seed then you can use it to transfer your coins without any transaction fees, use electrum instead. If you don't how to do it on your own lemme assist you for that.

Indeed, there are some problems regarding blockchain.info lately which indicates the developers have to solve those problems as fast as possible, but I prefer not to use this wallet for the daily transaction or not use it at all, electrum wallet works just fine all the time since I've been using it for months after left blockchain.info for good.
If it just a bug on their system, it will be fixed without you have to do anything, but this kind of problem is annoying for people who need to access their coins immediately.
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]🔥 LUNYR 🔥 Decentralized World Knowledge Base on Ethereum / OPEN BETA 🚀 on: January 17, 2018, 10:13:10 PM
Just learning about the idea of Lunyr project, it seems interesting to develop a resource of crowdsourced encyclopedia for reliable and accurate information, moreover, we can contribute by writing or peer reviewing articles. But the most amazing thing is decentralized applications in Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality and, Augmented Reality as the next stage of Lunyr development, may I ask how far the development of these apps right now? whether it has started like 30% - 50% or not yet?
206  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-1-17] Bitcoin Price Plunges Below $10,000 as Correction Intensifies on: January 17, 2018, 09:40:35 PM
China is an outdated news imo, but South Korea ban cryptocurrency trading is just a FUD news as President of SK stated there won't be a ban on cryptocurrency.
On the other hand, an article explaining why this is happening because bitcoin futures contract that expired on January 17th. Some people who hold the contracts bet on a lower price, they can manipulate the price by selling bitcoin which they have bought it in December 2017. But, it will recover soon as we are entering January 18th, look at the market prices right now, slowly increases again.

The cause of today's chaos is likely large hedge funds using expiring BTC futures contracts as safety nets to exploit the only sure-thing in this market: a large amount of new/overextended investors who are easily moved to panic sell during a flash-crash.
On December 10, BTC futures trading went live. The first set of those contracts is set to expire tomorrow, January 17.

207  Economy / Speculation / Re: They say don't try to catch a falling knife.. me right now on: January 17, 2018, 09:14:31 PM
Most cryptocurrencies prices are declined in mid-January, there are some factors behind it including bitcoin futures contract that come to the end of the date on January 17th but considers it as a good thing due to we can buy cheaper coins at the moment. Hence, we need correction as an opportunity for new adopters to invest in cryptocurrencies as well. In fact, we may won't find such prices in the nearly future after bitcoin get into "bulls run mode".
208  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Registration closed on Binance, Bittrex, Bitfinex, Cryptopia on: January 16, 2018, 11:59:16 PM
Too many new customers want to register right now due to the cryptocurrencies price spike.
Exchanges developers have to do this to ensure the capability to handle the demand for good service and maintain their network, including answering tickets.
Fortunately, I have registered on binance, but I'm not so active not using it for trading. But, it's a good thing to have more than 1 option to trade cryptocurrencies.
209  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you all in when trading? on: January 16, 2018, 11:46:02 PM
This would produce the most gains , but if you predict wrong you could be stuck waiting for the price to either come back up or down to get back in. I did this the other day. I sold and bought back in at what I had predicted was going to be the next upswing. However some last second sellers swooped in and dropped the price below my limit. Then it just continued to fall from there. Now I sit and wait for the price to come back up to my purchase price so I can get back at it. I hate waiting. I get antsy. I should have left some money in reserve so I could have at least bought in at the bottom. I got greedy. Now I wait.  Sad

Indeed, the more you put, the more you get by the end of the day.
But the problem is; whether you can be patient and wait for an uncertain time until the prices reach a higher point to extract the profits, especially at the moment where most of the coins seem in the bloodbath.
It's a good time to buy cheaper coins in the dip, that's why do not put all of your funds at once in a coin, just invest partially. Deposit fiat currency, buy bitcoin and altcoins, waiting for a month and then you will get more than 100% profits for sure.
210  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Decentralized Exchange $ Trading Platform? on: January 16, 2018, 11:35:14 PM
1. Would you try a brand new platform or just pass it up because you're not sure if it's legit or a scam?
That really depends on a lot of factors for me, I mean I pick exchanges because they're trustworthy, have a nice interface to work with and because they have reasonable fees.
Your platform would have to be pretty established before I'd consider using it.

Also, you mention building a decentralized exchange in your title, but your post doesn't seem to indicate this?
Most people will do the same thing.
If it's open source and people can check it on Github, which mean you get +1. People will trust it after some people give their reviews about this decentralized exchange.

2. What other features do you wish was in the existing platforms?
I'm pretty happy with the features in all of the platforms I'm currently using. I'm using Kraken and Bittrex.
As long as the exchange offer low fees for withdrawal and enable custom fees to send cryptocurrencies according to the recommended fees, it will be a good thing.

3. If you have Tech skills would you be interested in joining in on this venture? ( Will be registered as a LLC )
If I have tech skills, of course I would like to join if there is a chance to do this.
211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Here you see that Bitcoin drop every year mid january on: January 16, 2018, 11:21:27 PM

Mid of January become the day of correction after the bulls run Cheesy and seem like bitcoin will recover by the end of January or in February such as happened in 2017 where bitcoin increases slowly over time. The cycle always repeated, maybe someone or a group of whales always do the same thing in the mid of January, to cash-out at the moment to give an opportunity for new adopters to enter the market at a lower price. Honestly, it's a good thing as most altcoins declined as well, buy more coins in the dip and sell at the peak.
212  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: *FUNNY* Blockchain.info - 22 days Unconfirmed tx on: January 16, 2018, 11:08:07 PM
Its not actually funny since this thing is a common problem among those people who do set out very small fees: Seeing the ff:

Fees 0.000113 BTC
Fee per byte 43.798 sat/B

If you do try to look on here https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ you would able to see how many transactions being made on that bracket.

BTC Core is doing a fine job developing Bitcoin Legacy... they're digging their own grave. Screw this, I'm converting to BCH.

Screw Bitcoin Legacy.

I have a transaction that stuck for over a month, simply because of the low fee as well. Since the mempool get flooded with too many unconfirmed transactions, there is nothing we can do about it but pay higher fees.
Not sure if we blaming core developers for all of this problems, whether bigger blocks is the answer such as BCH.
But, we have segwit as a temporary solution for scale problem, it just most of the bitcoin users do not use it in the daily transaction, especially for exchanges which has the biggest trading volume.
213  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: YoBit withdraw high fee on: January 16, 2018, 10:52:33 PM
Withdrawal fee for an exchange is always higher than required fee, to ensure your transaction will be confirmed and they will take the rest of it, that's why it's called fee Cheesy
it is not only Yobit obviously, most exchanges have set withdrawal fee higher, but $1 or $0.5 isn't expensive at all, depends on how much Doge do you have?
There are many exchanges around, why do you choose Yobit? there is some problem regarding their services and too many people complaints about it.
214  Economy / Speculation / Re: Biggest Bank in Japan making its own Exchange??? on: January 16, 2018, 08:16:19 PM
Yeah, they do not plan to build an exchange, instead, they want to create a cryptocurrency called "MUFG Coin" worth at around JP¥1, the idea is similar with USDT (tether)
The article clearly mentioned this:
Needles to say, while MUFG only envisions its coin used to make stable transactions in Japan, once the cryptocurrency will be out in the wild global traders can use it for other uses as well. One interesting application is for it to be used in trading pairs on non-fiat exchanges instead of USTD, backed by the largest bank in Japan instead of Tether.
Then, they will offer a service called bitcoin segregated accounts that will be linked to exchanges, I believe they will use MUFG Coin to do this in order to avoid if the trading company is hacked or goes bankrupt.
215  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-16] Cryptocurrency Market Bloodbath. Short-Term Trend on: January 16, 2018, 07:42:41 PM
Finally, the correction has come?
I get used to higher price and then it just declined significantly over $2500 within a day.
Maybe it's the time for big whales to cash-out due to some fud news from South Korea and other countries.
However, there is nothing to do about it, take it as a discount time to buy more altcoins, especially for some potential coins which on the bulls run recently.
216  Economy / Exchanges / Re: KRAKEN down for 24 hours!! Worst exchange ever for me... on: January 15, 2018, 11:47:27 PM
Absolutely, "Krappen" will never recover from this. Just make sure you take everything out the moment it's back up before the mass exodus starts. Once people start bailing out, Kraken will lose all revenue and will have to close. I reckon they'll be gone within 2 weeks.

This whole thing stinks of a major hack or an inside job to steal all funds. The "update" is a smoke screen, don't be fobbed off by those cunts.

Seems like you were exaggerating this news, Kraken was not hacked. You should have some proofs before saying such allegations.
Look at Kraken site now, they even offer free trading fee until the end of the month, everyone have a chance to withdraw their funds now, or just continue their trading activity without have to pay fees.
Kraken surely noticed its users upset over the downtime, especially when markets have been extremely bearish so the company apologized for the downtime. For this reason from now and until January 31, the trading platform is giving customers zero fees for all unleveraged trades until January 31, 2018 (UTC). Additionally, the exchange is reducing margin position fees to 0.005 percent until the end of the month as well.

217  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day Trading (Scalping) and Long term trading on: January 15, 2018, 11:32:59 PM
Which is better to make more profit between Day Trading and Long teem trading. I want to make more profits trading Cryptocurrency, I need to know which of the two makes huge return mostly

If you have the big capital to trade, scalping is the easiest and faster way to generate profits in trading as most cryptocurrencies fluctuate in minutes.
But, if you don't, just waiting for long-term like weeks or months for the coins to gain more value and then sell it, in most case; people waiting for months for new coins to reach a higher price. But in general, if you can't wait for months, some coins prices such as eth, ltc, dash, xmr, xrp can increases within days or weeks which make you can extract the profits.
218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Missing Bitcoin on: January 15, 2018, 11:13:38 PM
This is probably unconfirmed transactions just like what happens to me because miners nowadays took time to confirm transactions.

LoL, don't you read some posts above yours? You should know better.
Coinbase ever mentioned about it; if you send bitcoin to bcash address, it's gone for good. They are busy with so many tickets submitted every day by millions of users, and more likely won't answer a ticket about people who made such mistake.
Or else, Coinbase will reply your ticket with this:
"Unfortunately, digital currency transactions using most blockchains are irreversible, meaning once they are sent there is no way to reclaim funds. If you sent digital currency from your Coinbase account to an email address by accident, your funds will be returned to you in 30 days if the funds remain unclaimed. If the email address has not already been claimed, you could do so to ensure the funds are returned to you."
219  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-15] Bank Indonesia Declares Cryptocurrency Illegal on: January 15, 2018, 04:09:40 PM
I tried to do some more research and it seems the headline is a little sensationalized. Indonesia banned the use of Bitcoin in transactions. You may still own it, and trade it, though they're strongly discouraging the public using the usual bubble FUD.

It doesn't even look like exchanges are affected, because you're technically not using Bitcoins for a transaction if you're going to buy or sell it as goods. According to this article:

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-01-13/indonesia-warns-against-owning-selling-trading-cryptocurrency

Quote
While the authority reiterates an existing ban on payment-system providers under its watch from processing transactions using digital currencies, PT Bitcoin Indonesia, a virtual-currency exchange that boasts more than 940,000 members, doesn’t fall under its supervision.

So it's really not as bad as it seems. Still a little bad, but not that bad. They probably just don't want people undermining their currency by using Bitcoin instead.

It's an old story which repeated, again and again, BI clearly stated that bitcoin isn't a legal currency to do transactions. Hence, people just trade it on exchanges.
Bitcoin can't state as currency in Indonesia at this point due to some commons problems.
People will start to worry if the government will regulate to ban cryptocurrency trading and ban exchanges.
220  Economy / Speculation / Re: opinions on downward trend on: January 15, 2018, 03:17:33 PM
When bitcoin price is going in a downward trend what's the best way to weather the storm?

get out while you still can?
Cash out for fiat currency when you can not wait for the cryptocurrency to recover, bitcoin and most of the altcoins will likely to recover within days or weeks.
Get out isn't a good way in this case as fluctuation is a normal thing in crypto-market, just watch over the latest news of bitcoin in some countries.

Quote
Buy alt coins?
Yes, you can allocate your funds to some potential altcoins such as bcash, ethereum, monero or some cheaper coins such as waves, iota, aion, xrp or xlm and much more.

Quote
or just wait it out?
For real hodlers, it's the best way due to bitcoin will regain its value and tend to rise over time, bitcoin won't let you down as long as you can be patient for the storm to pass.
