201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: June 21, 2016, 08:44:56 AM
Pleasem hard fork it. thanks!

If Ethereum decides to go with a hard fork I will lose all confidence in this token, forever.

Soft fork is fine with me, it will give a warning to hackers that they will not gain from their criminal activities.
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin is the sleeping giant on: June 21, 2016, 08:35:50 AM
Who is behind Litecoin and who does the marketing, coding etc?

It does not need much efforts. It is a clone of bitcoin. So it will follow every step of bitcoin. It could be a mirror of bitcoin.
203  Economy / Speculation / Re: 10 BTC. Will I be a millionaire by 2030? on: June 20, 2016, 10:27:34 AM
Well maybe you'll be a millionaire by 2030 if bitcoin's price continue to rise. But if its price falls and become worthless then maybe not.

I think the bitcoin price will continue to rise if the bitcoin adapts to the new environment and adopts new technologies.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH - What on earth is going on? on: June 20, 2016, 10:24:34 AM

The DAO was hacked and about 3.6 million Ethereum has bee "stolen". The community are working hard to recover the funds.
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which GPU to purchase with $200 for Ethereum mining? on: June 20, 2016, 10:22:41 AM
Thing have changed a lot in the last three days. There is a possibiilty that the Ethereum price will drop further and mining is not profitable.
206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A Hacking of More Than $50 Million Dashes Hopes in the World of Virtual Currency on: June 20, 2016, 10:21:21 AM
It wasn't a 'hack'.

The only thing that is 'Dashing Hopes in the World of Virtual Currency' is the vomit-inducing 'Let's Fork' response by the ETH Elite.

Vitalik and other developers can only make suggestions to the Etheruem community. The community can decide if the fork happens.
207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: There is nothing funny in The DAO "attack" on: June 20, 2016, 10:18:47 AM
If the miners decide to reverse this theft then maybe it will demonstrate that in this industry financial theft and fraud can be reversed through consensus.

Maybe there is a silver lining in all of this.

In the centralised system, this has been reversed many many times, the crminal proceeds have been returned to the victim before.
208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH - What on earth is going on? on: June 17, 2016, 07:19:47 AM
Is that an insider joke? About Goldman Sachs and ETH?

This madness cannot go on forever, I suspect that when the dump comes it will be a hardcore one , the epic dump like down to sub 0.01 and beyond.

And the inflationary nature of ETH - 13 million new coins per year as it is speculated, is another thing to bear in mind. The ETH worshipers will try to point out that it will turn to POW soon - if it goes POW then ETH and The DAO will be subject to SEC investigation, this is what should happen, and they are not stupid to do that.

ETH is currently PoW, will be switching to PoS.  Smiley
But the blockhain bloat will crush them if they are not dumped out of existence first.

Goldman is dirty , they always have been and always will be dirty.

 Cool

The inflation is abut 13 million a year, it might be changed after PoS. I hope it will be PoW for long time to support the price.
209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Radeon released RX 480. on: June 17, 2016, 07:13:46 AM
My question is ,

8gb or 4gb ?

Thanks Smiley .

If you just want to mine the Ethereum, 4GB is enough. The DAG increase 600 MB a year. The 4GB can mine for 5 years.
210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best GPU's For Mining? on: June 17, 2016, 07:10:46 AM
Will have to check GPU-Z to validate.

Also I got a 390 and 390X, sadly both volt locked.  So my -100mv 290X can almost reach a 390 stock.
Windows 10, latest AMD drivers, getting 29-31MH, 33MH with extreme overclocking.
390X runs a bit cooler and can crank out higher engine OC, but I need to upgrade my PSU to make things safe to test long term.

I have not messed with memory clocks, as I'm happy with those speeds, but curious if anyone else has feedback.

You can use the HawaiiBiosReader to modify the voltage to be lower than the stock. It will save you lots of energy.
211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ETH] Ethereum = Scam on: June 17, 2016, 07:08:15 AM

There is a difficulty bomb in the code which means ETH MUST switch to POS.

Premine is neither here nor there, you're just gutted that you don't own any.

There is a difficulty bomb in the code. But I heard it will be defused. The PoS will not start as planed. It is delayed.
212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: June 16, 2016, 01:32:50 PM
Look at all the desperate people who shorted eth try and get you to sell. Hahaha.
How do you short ETH or any other cryptocurrency?

Margin trading is possible on poloniex, bitfinex aswell as kraken. As long as you have collateral in another currency you can borrow and sell coins. You don't need to have ETH in the first place to sell it. People are doing that a lot.
If you're bagholding the ETH you can offer it to lend to shortsellers and increase your holdings in ETH without having to trade it but the rates are pretty bad right now for lenders.

It would be better to sell short on margin if you can buy some call options for protection.

I think the cost of the combing the two will be more than the profit you make. That is supposed to be zero sum.
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: (GPU Mining) First Bitcoin... Then Ethereum... What next? on: June 16, 2016, 01:21:28 PM
This makes me really confused, whether I should spend off my money on GPU's and start mining ether or just leave it as it can become useless very soon. I remember the last time I purchased a good GPU back in 2010 for $250, I sold it for $25 in 2014, so if this drama of ether GPU mining ends up, my GPU would definitely get wasted off.

Is someone around here mining Monero? Maybe that's the coin to mine with GPU along with a bit of profit.

it's still very profitable, so yes go ahead and buy a gpu to mine if you can, also bitcoin skyrocketing make this even more profitable despite the little crash in ethereum price

It's almost always a bad investment. Mining may never be profitable again.

i don't agree, i already roied on my gpu if i would sell them now, and this counting my high electricity

there profit to be made but you need to mine the most profitable each time, it's not always ethereum...

ROI of GPU is different from ROI bitcoin ASIC miners. the only problem is that when we all sell the GPU at the same time, the price will crash.
214  Economy / Speculation / Re: 10 BTC. Will I be a millionaire by 2030? on: June 16, 2016, 01:19:59 PM
we are seeing a golden age of bitcoin which will only increase over time. but also the price will rise because of this situation with bitcoin.

but i don't think 10 bitcoin is ever enough to become a millionaire until 2030 or even ever with that much. you will require much mroe bitcoin for that.

I reckon the bitcoin price could be between $100,000 to 250,000 in 2030. So 10 bitcoin can make us live happily.
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which GPU to purchase with $200 for Ethereum mining? on: June 14, 2016, 01:16:27 PM
wait three weeks and buy the AMD rx 480 for $199 when it is releases.  It should be the best bang for the buck and lower power consumption than current generation cards.

Under the risk that drivers wont squeeze the max hashrate for the card for months.

that is right. The driver might not be right for the mining and the algorithm needs optimisation as well.

In 2014, there were not many profitable coin to mine. The 2010 GPU is useless in 2014 mining any way. That is earlier than the 5870.
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: June 14, 2016, 01:11:01 PM
ETH/BTC made another new high. This is crazy.

The all time high for the ETH/BTC is about 0.035. The price is just 0.026 now. The Etheruem has to work hard.
218  Economy / Speculation / Re: Be sure, this will drop hard soon... and here is why... on: June 14, 2016, 01:07:46 PM
Well it is dropping right now lol......

Dropping? I see the price is still 688 dollars now. It is still 17% higher than a week ago. However, a correction is needed.
219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you expect the Ethereum price to be by the end of December? on: June 13, 2016, 01:39:08 PM
Somewhere between 0.05 and 0.10 BTC

Some where between 0.02 to 0.05. It is quite difficult to be 0.1. If it does rise to 0.1, it will drop to 0.01.
220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ETH] Ethereum = Scam on: June 13, 2016, 01:35:01 PM
Ethereum is a great tech and smart contracts are the future. Time to bag some more before the next leg up gents.

The price is so high now. I am not sure if I should buy more.

Is any new good news in the pipe line shortly?
