201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 WNBA Discussion and Betting on: August 04, 2023, 08:14:16 PM
Pretty much I was frustrated about the result of the game it was really not supposed to be the Phoenix Mercury after they are pretty much inconsistent, and then  Diana Taurasi decided to make a firing performance just because she has a goal and a record to break, just ruined my bet,

Here is the result of my bet, for yesterday's game,

Phoenix Mercury VS Atlanta Dream SCORE 91 - 71 - LOST

Diana Taurasi is really the GOAT, for the WNBA but upon watching the latest games she is 41 years old now but her moves are not like those of a 41-year-old, for sure scoring 42 points in the game she is the one getting the score, and getting the win it was like she was on drugs today she was really hyper, and getting that record of 10,000 points has put her into the history breaking her own record pretty much the Dream is making a great start but because of Diana Taurasi my bet was lost because of her, pretty much I didn't make a bet for the Phoenix Mercury because of their inconsistency, in winning a game, but in the return of Taurasi it was a different Mercury indeed,

Additionally to that fact, the edge from the next in line is far,

she got  10,024 while the next only got 7,488 way far and she's still active and with her performance last night he might be
Adding some more with her individual record. And like what you have said, she's 41 but his instinct to make that shots
are still intact. She's not hesitating and really putting that basket like she always does, good thing with her teammates
they still know they can rely on her.
202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: August 04, 2023, 07:29:05 PM
This fight will live forever and will be watched by future generations to come than May-Pac and May-McGregor.

True, because it was an entertaining fight. Although May-Pac and May-McGregor both generated a lot of money, any fight involving Mayweather is known to be boring, and it seems like the fans are robbed. However, they didn't learn and still watched Mayweather's fights. Probably, they were hoping that Mayweather would lose, but it didn't happen, as Mayweather is just too good and knows how to dominate his opponents. Even Pacman in their fight looked amateur, LOL.

In fact, I didn't see any of Mayweather's fights where he doesn't have any advantage over his opponent. It's true that he got some warriors in his record but it's either his opponents were too young or too old just like when he fought Canelo and then Pacquiao. Overall, he might be undefeated, but I don't think that he's the best boxer ever just like how he used to call himself.

For him (Mayweather), is always a win. Whatever the people think of it, as long as it was clearly declared or announced nothing can be change, he retired as a champ without a loss.

beating a young Canelo and an aging Pacquiao, though as a fighter, there's no excuse when you lose the fight,
Mayweather will forever earn that glory after he retired his gloves.

Moving back to the topic, Spence, if ever decide to take another shot, he can still try to regain his glory unlike
with Mayweather, both Alvarez and Pacquiao did not get that chance to take a rematch.
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins worth investing at dip on: August 03, 2023, 09:57:35 PM
of course Ethereum is an investment that is worth buying when the market is in a dip, because the price of Ethereum will definitely continue to increase every time there is a bullrun (making a new ATH price), moreover Ethereum is the king of altcoin, so that's what makes Ethereum a decent altcoin to invest, because I'm sure that investing in Ethereum will definitely give us a big profit.

If you have a decent amount of spare money to invest better, to have both BTC and ETH,

It might be a high value investment, but by how the market moves when there's a bull season to come up, we always see
ETH to follow BTC, though you can also search for other alts that have good community support which are still low value, just
be careful when you are placing your investment. Make sure you are done doing your DYOR.
204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 03, 2023, 08:24:48 PM
Brian Windhorst came out and said that no other teams outside of Miami have come forward to seriously make a trade offer for Damian Lillard. I’m not sure if it’s his contract, his age, or other teams are just trying to respect his wishes to end up in Miami, but it’s starting to look like Lillard might be a Trailblazer next season. I’m not sure how good that will be for his reputation if he’s disgruntled after being labeled as the most loyal player in the NBA.

Maybe they are also afraid that Lillard will not play with them since he release a statement that he only want to play on Miami. So maybe from this many team avoid him since they might lose a vital piece on their roster and Lillard is not fully committed on their team. Don't know if this trade plan will proceed since Blazers and its fans doesn't like the trade offer given by Miami so most likely we can still see Lillard wearing a Blazers uniform next season.

The kind of statement he made is powerful enough to make other teams, which he didn't choose, try to prevent him from getting there. However, it doesn't help the NBA overall, as players now seem to dictate, rather than acting as professionals and playing according to their contracts. Lillard should not have said it publicly; the negotiations between his team should have been handled confidentially. Now, if the deal with the Miami Heat doesn't succeed, can the Blazers still expect Lillard to give his best next season?

It is speculated that Lillard might not suit up with Portland and could sit up the rest of the season if he is not traded? Not sure how true this is, but if yes then it will hurt the Blazers for sure and maybe Lillard will have hefty fines from the NBA itself.

So his career is on the balance right now, yes he wants to move out and maybe Portland might have realized that it's time for them to change course as well. And it seems that is the case because they have sign Jeremy Grant for a $160 million contract extension for 5 years.

I'm not sure if I remember it right. Ben Simmons did it last time. He chooses not to play and lost those money as Philly sanction him with lots of fine from his contract.

Maybe it can be a same deal with Lilard in case he's serious not to play if the trade will not take place,
he might lose a lot of money. It's his decision though whether he will keep his words and really not
to wear Blazers uniform if there's no trade that takes place.

That's the hook as a gambler. Also, has that hope that they will make some money while trying to get that entertainment.

I see your point that there are, if not all, who really love to take that risk and expect to make money
from gambling, and like the post above you, if you can be the banker, the chance is for real that you
can make more money, but as a regular gambler the chance is slim.

If I didn't read about David Walsh, an Australian professional gambler, I wouldn't have believed that some people actually can manage to win against the casino in the long term.

He also did this a long time ago when everything wasn't as sophisticated, so I reckon it's almost really impossible these days.

But yeah, it's pretty much impossible to win against the house.

A kind of exemption for experienced gamblers who managed to take advantage of using their good bankroll management and emotional control.

But then again, the vast majorities are not capable of setting up their limitations, and most have that same
impression that they can quickly earn money with some luck behind, but when they lose and have no money left
they can think something unusual and expect that they can exceed from how ordinary people think and do things
that will surprise everyone who knows the person.
206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: August 03, 2023, 04:29:59 PM

So now, we will wait what will be the official PPV numbers and it has somewhat around 500k-800k or even break the 1 million mark.

The numbers are already out, Errol Spence Jr. Vs Terence Crawford PPV Buys Reach 700k, Bring In $50 Million In Revenue
Quote
The highly anticipated boxing match between Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. was a huge success, generating an estimated 700,000 pay-per-view buys and bringing in more than $50 Million in revenue. This is the highest number of buys for a boxing PPV since Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao in 2015.

You prediction is correct, the PPV buys is lower than the Garcia vs Davis fight but of course it's still a big success.

Just about it, not about to hit 1 million but still good and a big success as you have said. So it's not a disappointment for others who thought that this is not going to be a blockbuster fight in terms of numbers.

I think what you meant though is that this is the biggest welterweight numbers since the fight of Floyd and Manny.

And it's hard to beat the numbers of Ryan Garcia vs Tank Davis, this two has a huge following and all hype before the actual fight.

most of the time, their respective promoters also contribute to the degree of success of the fight. if they know how to sell the fight , they know the tactics how to sell those tickets and their PPVs. but of course, it is the followers of the boxers themselves have the major influence on how they will hit those numbers.
but to be honest, i thought this fight will surpass the PPV buys of Garcia vs. Davis fight, as many fans are also looking forward on this match. remember, in this forum alone, we have so much discussion about this fight long time ago.

Me too, I was in the impression that since it's been waited for many years, it will surpass that last record from the fight between Tank and Ryan.

Though that numbers still profitable for both camps and the promoters, maybe the excitement
from the fans is no longer that hot. Maybe a rematch will bring more money if both camps will
negotiate and sign another deal to attract the fans' and viewers' supports.

207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: August 02, 2023, 11:59:56 PM

Just let Crawford and his camp to enjoy the win and take that luxurious rest with that huge moneypot
that he's collecting right now.

He deserves the recognition he's receiving because what he has achieved is truly historical. Now, we can firmly believe that Crawford is the better fighter compared to Spence. Even if they decide to have a rematch, it's unlikely that the outcome would change unless Spence has something significant to upset the current champion. A potential trilogy would make the rivalry even more entertaining, as trilogies are always fun to watch in the world of boxing.

Now, regarding the possibility of Canelo vs Spence, it's certainly possible, and such a matchup would generate a lot of money for both teams. However, they would need to agree on a weight class that both fighters are comfortable with. I'm not sure which is harder, going down or going up in weight?

I see that point and it's possible if Spence will upset Crawford on their next possible rematch, and like what you said,
fans will love to follow such kind of rivalries.

Just by the look how Crawford beats Spence, those who still doubting him will wait if Spence will try
to call that rematch, they will wait if what Spence will bring to the table and if ever they will be satisfied
if in case Spence will win and a trilogy will also be activated, more money for both promoters and fighters
possible to take place.
208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: People with quick rich attitude always mess up with alt coins on: August 02, 2023, 11:24:31 PM
That contentment with the amount that you could earn will lessen the risk. If you sell your coin during the time that you are already in profits, then you will be able to enjoy the benefits.

But if you keep trying to make more the chance that you will lose everything back is possible, whales
are good at playing with traders' emotions. They create artificial movement both with pump and dump
to make more money, better to have that contentment attitude to avoid losing your money.
That's true. Selling if you're in profit already is a wise thing to do that many investors failed to follow due to their expectation that the price might skyrocket and they don't want to miss the chance. This might be possible for meme/shitcoins to happen but it's too risky since these kind of coins don't have utility and just relying on hype.

But still, many investors are taking risk to invest hoping to gain huge in a short period. Well, it's their choice to invest in altcoins that are not established. But if you don't want to lose your money easily, take time to know what coins are worth it to invest in. Not because of hype and the possibility to soar high but because of its utility that can solve real problem. That kind of coin is a gem that can't be delisted in exchanges.

And no one can push them to whatever they believe. There's a chance that they might hit that luck and the investment
that they are involved will be sky high and give them huge profits.

It's a choice and a risk to every traders, but most of the time so-called traders who thinks that they can
easily make money inside crypto will mostly lose a lot, greed or other factors triggers that mistake and
lead them to regret after.
209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buy more ETH..... on: August 02, 2023, 10:32:24 PM
Looking at effective price of altcoins ETH has not really record a bad history and very soon ETH will hit way bigger and better, if you have sphere money buy plenty of it and allow it to run for five years and watch what the outcome will be. Let's not surprise when ETH will shook the market cap of world trade many will be made billionaires and by then it will be too late for others you didn't buy at all. In shot begins to store all the relevance altcoin and wait for it. Happy Sunday
to be honest eth for safer bet for long term holding like btc, it might be pass btc cap at some point in the future just temporary glimpse for sure
dang i still remember first time mining eth back in october 2015 single tahiti gpu can produce 4eth/day, and dumped everyday to poloniex instead of holding it  Grin

All of those are just part of the memories and we can't move it back, so better to work more with how you can buy and hold if you already sold everything that you have before.

But yes, it was like that before where you can buy mining gpu and let your rig earn that coin
for you, not the same anymore and if you have a decent amount of money to spare with ETH
in the long-term chances to make good amount of money is really possible to happen, just hold
and wait.
210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: August 02, 2023, 12:41:56 AM
These are the current champions in the division.

Quote
WBO: Jason Moloney

IBF: Vacant

WBA: Takuma Inoue

WBC: Alexandro Santiago

There's a vacant title, which is the IBF, and as we can see from the rankings at https://www.boxingscene.com/rankings, the top 3 boxers include only one Filipino. However, if we look at the WBO rankings, Reymart Gaballo is currently ranked number 1, which means he could be a challenger to Jason Moloney in a mandatory fight. Just imagine, if Reymart Gaballo secures the IBF belt, he can have a unification fight against any of the champions, and it's possible that he could become an undisputed champion, as none of the current champions are as strong as Inoue.

Bantamweight IBF Top 3 Boxers
Emmanuel Rodriguez
Melvin Lopez
Reymart Gaballo

That's interesting. We might see Gaballo hyping his career, if fate permits him to win over Maloney.

His next journey might a money making fight for him, trying to add more belts under his name and the possibility to collect
all those available from this division may take place, something that the "Monster" Inoue left after moving up and earn another
belt in a different division. Still far to conclude as there's no update yet if Gaballo will be schedule to any title fight.
211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: August 02, 2023, 12:25:45 AM

Maybe the outcome of Canelo vs Jermell Charlo fight is very important because if Jermell Charlo were to win, I'm sure Crawford would see it as a good opportunity to fight Jermell Charlo by moving up, as a win would make him more popular.

How about Crawford - Canelo both have a claim to be a crowd drawer and a pound-for-pound king, I don't think Canelo can impose his skill and power against Canelo the way Crawford devastated Spence if they cross their path I hope they do, Canelo will have a beating more than what he gets from his fight against Bivol.

Crawford is already 35 not many years left in his boxing career, so his promoters and handlers should think of fighting fighters in the pound-for-pound list that he can fight in a catch weight.

That's good for his career, but on the money side I mean from the promoters side, they will seek for money magnet matchup to make sure that they will convert more money while Crawford is still capable of protecting his belts.

Maybe I'm wrong, but we all know that boxing is a business, so wherever the money will flow, the chance
that we will see that direction to take place.

Just let Crawford and his camp to enjoy the win and take that luxurious rest with that huge moneypot
that he's collecting right now.

That is very true. Well hopefully, one day, we can make our own casino so we can get rich from gambling Grin

We better not make gambling a hobby, especially since we are not people who have a lot of money. But we can use gambling as entertainment if we don't spend too much money.

Yeah, but I don't think most people want to play the gambling games just for fun.

I mean, you can play for free on many of those games, but they are by far not as popular as the games with real money involved.

That's the hook, the idea that you can make money.

That's the hook as a gambler. Also, has that hope that they will make some money while trying to get that entertainment.

213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: People with quick rich attitude always mess up with alt coins on: August 01, 2023, 10:06:27 PM
Yes, that's what I did when I was a novice. When an altcoin started to rise a lot, I had the psychology of not being able to make a profit. I remember a little about what Safemoon did, and it's pretty doubtful that it will ever happen again. At times, some tokens get pretty much inflated by whales. Like I said, they may not always do this. Too much greed in altcoins causes loss of money, this has always been so.
Following that movement will also let to fall into a trap, thinking that you will be making a decent amount of profits without knowing that the whales are just playing around.

Always have that mindset to do your research and balance the possibility of making money over losing it
with each trading or investment participation that you are doing, make sure that you have that time to
continue learning and not being attached to a quick money process that mostly being misunderstood.
Greed makes us lose money, it's as simple as that. We can always get some profit and exit the market even if the whales are playing around, but only if we don't get greedy and start thinking that we will get more profit and exit at the right time before the price starts to crash again, but that doesn't happen because it is not possible for anyone to perfectly time the market and on top of that, how would we know if the whales have already got what they wanted and now they will dump the market?

So it is always better to simply sell and exit when you are already in profit if you are trading altcoins, because if you didn't exit at the right time and it starts crashing, you won't be able to get any profit and you might even end up losing some of your invested capital if you don't sell quickly.

214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: August 01, 2023, 12:51:11 PM
I've heard several excuses. Even Deontay Wilder is saying that Spence lost because he was dehydrated.

Actually, that dehydration issue is not new. Way back when Spence's camp is dodging to make a negotiation with Crawford, they already said that their guy is not fit anymore to fit at 147 that's why they consider putting him instead to fight at 154. Moving forward, there should be no excuses as both camp deal with the negotiation and we now see the result of this long-waited match that takes several years in the making.

We don't know yet what's next for Crawford;

- keep the titles at 147 (which doesn't make sense to me)
- have a rematch with Spence (which is also not makes sense to me)
- moved up at 154 and try to secure a deal right away on a title match as he is eligible for it

Let's see what will happen next.

Now I know why Spence has that exhausted aura all over his body during the start of the fight.  It seems meeting the weight limit takes a toll on Spence by dehydrating too much.   But I do not believe that Spence will win if ever they go up in Division since I believe Crawford will also destroy him in that weight category.  I also agree that dehydration should not be an issue since they both agree to fight on that weight division.  All I can say is that it is Spence fault on fighting on the weight division where their boxer is not fit anymore.

It would be nice to see this two elites fighting it out on the higher weight class to see if those who assume that Spence will perform different if they fight on 154 is correct.

If ever they will bring this rematch into the table, if both camps will agree, maybe it will take place.

Who knows if Spence will perform well and clear that excuses and convert it to a success, though seeing the fight the
winning chance might be slim. The level of fighting greatness from Crawford is way high compared with Spence, it
might be concluded if ever we hear an update with any negotiation about possible rematch.
215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 31, 2023, 09:25:15 PM
They are good but they can still be matched. The Suns last season was fresh and do not have chemistry. They should be better this year with all the talent they have. Giannis was injured in the playoffs. It could have been a different story if he stayed healthy in the post season. The Nuggets are strong but other teams are getting stronger as well. The competition is still very strong.

The Suns were the only team that were able to give good competition to the Nuggets, so I think you have a point that they are going to be even better next season. Although they lost CP3, he wasn't significant enough to the success of the Suns due to injury issues. However, having Bradley Beal on the team takes them to the next level. Let's just hope that the big 3 will be able to stay healthy throughout the season.

And we also need to see that the Denver Nuggets have a line up change, I mean their core is still intact, but I think losing Bruce Brown who did contribute to their championship run in both defense and offense, could be missed by the Nuggets as well.

So let's see any team in the West that will challenge the Nuggets at least in the first half of the season. Suns has upgraded with the Beal acquisition and so is the Warriors and then the Lakers too. So very tough Western conference and there will be a lot of challenge for the defending champs.

Expect that, Nuggets still have that same core, and with the way they are playing the game,

I still see that they've got the chance to keep that championship spirit, just need to have both Jokic and Jamal healthy
and the rest would be playing alongside with them.

I like to see Warriors and Lakers, not sure about Suns as having Beal might be a liability as they already have both Booker
and KD who are really a good scorer, adding another might be depends on how they'll going to jibe with the chemistries.
216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: July 31, 2023, 02:37:19 PM
I don't think anyone here expected Donaire to lose, but it turns out the opposite happened. We thought Santiago would be a good match for Donaire's target to KO his opponent, but Santiago has matured and knows how to play the game well. He clearly knew how to beat Donaire, resulting in a unanimous decision win.

What can I say, I guess it's time for Donaire to hang up his gloves. He is already old, and it's evident he doesn't have the same activity he had in the past. To think that Santiago isn't even a top contender, and he still defeated Donaire via UD, that's enough to conclude his boxing journey is over.

Congratulations to Santiago! It was a good win for him, and now he is the champion.

It's just that Donaire can't pull the trigger anymore and yup nobody expected (at least we Filipinos) of this outcome. Santiago is ranked lower then in the minds of an ordinary fans, this fight is one that would make Donaire look good in the ring and once again break another record but turned out that this could be the end of his colorful career, nothing to be ashamed of and nothing else to prove so yeah, it's time to hang up the gloves for good.

Congrats to those who back Santiago, very juice odds.

Yup, there's nothing to prove he got his chance during his prime and we know how he performs before,

But after this loss, it's better to hang his gloves and not to think about fighting again. In his age, health is important. Good thing
that there's no further major damage after the fight, it might be a good blessing and a good way to say his farewell in the
ring.
217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: July 31, 2023, 06:09:26 AM

That Bud Crawford's jab is insane. Spence received lots of like it was nothing but in reality, slowly giving him some damage throughout the rounds. After realizing that Spence is now slowing being slow down and defense is not that tough anymore, that's time Bud will release his power punch and connects lots of it.

In fairness though to Spence, even after receiving heavy damages, still shows determination and eagerness to keep up with the fight and try to last long. Even after receiving heavy and strong punches from Crawford, he still shows releasing some power punches but the problem is, it didn't able to connect because Crawford's defense is really tough.

Now that it settles, I don't think that there should be a rematch. A rematch just makes sense if the fight is close, not unless the business side will prevail.

That last statement is right, unless the business side will seek for that rematch which we don't know if Spence camp will ask for it or not.

The winning chance of Spence is too slim, that power punches from Crawford plus that tight defense is something
that Spence can't really take,

We don't know what will be the next plan or update for this possible rematch. All will be defended from Spence camp
if they will request for it to re-try Spence's chance to reclaim his titles.
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How do you feel about market recovery on: July 30, 2023, 09:49:07 PM
Actually don't think bull market can come back soon and you shouldn't invest when it comes but you can execute short term buying and selling if you want. When a bull market occurs, the altcoins market will not be stable and there will be many tokens whose prices may not rise. Also if you want you can deposit btc at this time because you can get a big profit from it in future.
You need a good anticipation together with the knowledge that you earn from these business venues,

Bull run is anticipated but always have that idea on how to work on it and take the advantage, always depends on your timing,
investing in the right time is good but very hard to know or to predict more on catching all the basis and relying on the information
from the past market movements.

Part of the worse after-effect is to be forced to sell those properties just to cover your expenses.

I like the argument where you should spare some money to save up, it will be used as your emergency funds either
to minimize your expenses or try to find additional sources of extra income, it's needed now as we see what happens
to most of us during the pandemic, we all got surprise and most are leaning to government support.
This is not the best situation, because instead of doing something on their own, people are hoping for help from the state. The pandemic has shown how bad this decision is, as many chose to do nothing and just wait, receiving help from the state. But in order to ensure this, a lot of new money had to be printed. We all felt the consequences of this, it is the growth of inflation and the decline of the world economy.

So we all, each of us must take care to have a reserve of means and food. The world began to change too quickly, some may not keep up with it, but we need to learn to adapt, otherwise you can be left on the sidelines and no one will take care of you.

That's the risk, but since many choose that way, the government has no choice but to take that decision.

And like what you have mentioned, it gives us high inflation, and the economy is really giving a hard time for all of us. It's important
