A very FEW of those algos are used by cryptocoins - but those (like SHA256 and Scrypt) are algos that have ASIC available, so NOT viable to try to mine them on GPUs.
For comparison, current SHA256 ASIC are measured in GIGAhash/sec, not MEGAhash - and all Litecoin ASIC miners except the early Gridseed Orbs are measured in MEGAhash/sec not Kilohash/sec
The LARGE MAJORITY of those algos have nothing to do with cryptocoin mining at all (MD anything, DES, SHA other than 256, etc).
I'm NOT sure on Whirlpool offhand, I think that might be one of the components of X11?

I do hope there would be new bounties for BAS. Or perhaps work for BAS? That we can engage with. There were bounties in the past, maybe bounties now to promote coin.
I was thinking the other day that a banner bounty for BitcoinTalk would be an excellent idea. It's all up to the development team though... Another thing to consider is that PR/Marketing will also require funds so there's that. Being that this project had no ICO and strives for a fair distribution I think we'll all be pleased with what they come up with. When you look at some of these ICOs with billions of coins (DENT has 100 BILLION coins for example) and what they are valued at it is easy to see that BAS should and will be worth a lot more in the future. I think that the hard work on the part of the developers and patience on the part of we who hold BAS will be greatly rewarded in the future. |

I'm working on an "Introduction to BitAsean" document for the developer which will highlight what BitAsean is and why we're excited about its potential. I also am thinking of putting together a press release for the developer to go out to the crypto news sites basically doing the same but tailored for news sites in standard press release format. |

The presentation mentions two new mining hardware devices, with the largest called the “Sunrise s11i.” It further claims that it is a 16-nanometer design and is now the most powerful mining rig on on the planet in terms of hashing power, with the “Best [Return On Investment] in its class,” consuming between 2.3-2.5 kW.
Available in September 2017, RMC’s document explains, the new rig costs RMC US$1,600 per unit to produce and will deliver 22.6 Th/s of mining power. Of this, 18 Th/s goes to “the physical owner” while 4.6 Th/s goes towards paying a “joint mining club,” presumably token owners and RMC.
The leading competitor, from Chinese manufacturer Bitmain, is called the Antminer s9, and costs around US$2,500 for only 14 Th/s. However, the s9 does so more efficiently, with a consumption of only 1.3 kW of energy. Nonetheless, RMC claims that S9s offer a Return On Investment of 12 months, while there S11i is profitable in only 5.
The company states that one of their goals is acquiring market share from Chinese producers, “and their centralization.” Their neighbors to the south currently dominate the markets for both mining chip manufacturing and mining pools. For instance, all of the top six Bitcoin Mining pools are currently located in China. I am looking for advice on my latest order. I received notification my miner has shipped but UPS shows it is stuck in China due to "Missing or Incomplete Export Documents, they are working to obtain this information"
I have never had this issue before, but it has been awhile since ordering from bitmain.
Any idea what this means or any action I need to take to resolve?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
edit - I live in the US
I had that happen with mine. I had to call UPS 4 times. First they said that everything is fine. Second call they said I had to provide a taxpayer ID number for the import. Third call they said I had to pay an import brokerage fee of $18 per miner, but that they couldn't take my payment because that department was closed for the day. Fourth call they took my payment, but when the driver showed up he still insisted on collecting the fee again (check only, no cash, no cards) before handing the packages over. The whole mess took like 9 days. Next order I'll use DHL for sure. FedEx is the best. I received my July 15 batch on July 14 after a 1-day delay due to the import thing. |

We are developing mobile wallet. Our goal- Distribute BAS to stores and restaurants to jump start real world use throughout the ASEAN region. - BitAsean will add a new tab called "BitAsean Map" on the website to show the location of any store or restaurant that accepts BitAsean. Additionally we plan to distribute signs and/or decals bearing our logo which say "BitAsean Accepted Here" to participating merchants for increased day-to-day visibility @ByteCode Team what's the next steps of new BAS? Maybe roadmap or something?

Good to see that new BAS already can be trade at ED. Hope will be more better/respectable exchanges in future but not the one like it was with old BAS. At last we will be able to see a real value of BAS name, believe it will not dissapoint us Being on EtherDelta is a good first step. A lot of well known tokens started trading there first before being listed on bigger exchanges. I think OmiseGo (OMG) was one of them.
