I like most of all Point 6; I think that some change is needed to fund the team which has remained loyal to the project.
Nice words @canonical.
It is actually to fund the project and not the team.

I am trying to synch the old nist5 wallet in order to transfer some coins from the exchange to swap them, but it's been stuck on 0 peers for hours, never established connection.
I have tried adding the nodes posted on the first page by op but the result was the same.
Are there any working nodes i can add to the config file ?
I also tried sending a test swap directly from the exchange to the swap address the site provided me, never received any coins on the new chain, i guess that doesn't at all.
You may have to elaborate more on what you saying for us to understand you quite well
First of all, i dont see the need for you to resync NIST5 wallet if you have to transfer coins from the exchange to swap them. You only need to download your new XEVAN wallet, get an address, send coins directly from exchange to address provided for you on swap website and follow the rest of the instruction on swap website carefully

Also, i dont seem to know why your nist5 wallet isn't syncing. mine was open and fully synced as i was typing this reply. Try these nodes in snipet below

Lastly, about your test swap not working, find out if you already have 6 confirmations.
If not you must wait for them.
If your wallet is not syncing, then your swap will definitely not work till its fully synced since your wallet isnt connected to the rest of the network.
Give me feedback on telegram or slack after you try my suggestion. Please be meticulous

It is @SolarisDev's utmost hope that everybody receives their coins safely in full. thus swap will proceed till the last month of this year.
There is more time to get help.

However if your XLR is on cryptopia then you have just a few days to swap them or else Cryptopia will delist XLR and getting your balance back through support  may be difficult

THis is incomplete

The External and internal IPs and external and internal ports on both of the Conf files are not clear!

Sir, what do you mean by they are not clear?
Are they illegible to you?

Also, where in the guide did you see internal IP and internal Port?
It seems you didn't follow the guide thoroughly because you are mentioning things that are not in it.
Please start again and this time, follow the guide more carefully. Even a single "space" at the wrong place can ruin your masternode setup.

solaris.conf should look like this
Code:
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcuser=ANY_LONG_USERNAME
rpcpassword=ANY_LONG_PASSWORD

Hi @schyter! Thank you so much for sharing both conf files.
I used the same configuration. I have received 1 reward by now of 0.4 XLR.
I dont understand why the status of MN keeps going to MISSING

The whole tutorial assumes that I am running the node on the VPS and not on the local machine.
If I am using my home server to run a machine to host the node, my externalIP and my VPSIP in both will be the same. I guess that might cause an issue. right?

My conf files look like this

Solaris.conf
Code:
rpcallowip=192.168.0.1
rpcuser=aksjbdkajndkansdkjnansdasd
rpcpassword=aknsdlk;an;sdn;ansdna;nsdansdnansdjknajsndkasd

# MasternodeAlias externalIP:portn masternode_privatekey Transaction_ID transaction_index
Here my VPS is my server with the same IP

Can you please spot the mistake?
Thank you

@MaXLRd I now understand why you complained your masternode is missing
Someone has stolen all your XLR.
First of all, I am happy my guide worked perfectly for you

Your private keys is meant to be private.
You showed it to all of us when you posted your Solaris.conf without concealing your private keys
It is like the password to all coins in your wallet address.

I am sorry about your loss

I am now seeing this. If I had seen it earlier I would have taken all the coins and return it to you

There are detailed instructions for installing masternode?
HOW TO SETUP MASTERNODE GUIDE

Very exciting project.  I'm about to buy enough for a masternode, but I'm uncertain whether it's safe to take it off Coinexchange and place it onto the Raspberry wallet for MN/PoS or wait until the kinks are ironed out.

Any feedback is much appreciated, thanks!
Which kinks are you referring to?

I am personally running a masternode and i have recieved 4 payouts so far.

you cannot run masternodes with coins from coinexchange currently.
You need the coins of the new XEVAN chain.
So you have to buy from coinexchange and swap them for the new coins before you can run a masternode Smiley

I think today we will get further instruction from dev how to setup the masternode. I only swap 60 XLR and works smooth the swap. I will swap the rest once we will get a tutorial for masternode setup.
Its coming soon in a few hours
It has to be approved by Dev.

Wallet is synced alright.
It is the additional data that isnt syncing (sporks) fully. Its 25%

I have added the nodes to the conf file anyway. still not syncing
EDIT its 50%. i guess it will fully sync soon enough

Could I directly mine the wallet?
If you mean setting up masternodes with wallet then yes, but if you mean POW then no

Will the running of the new wallet replace the old folder in the appdata > roaming directory
since the folders and wallet.dat files may have the same name?

Or both wallets will safely run on the same computer??

214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GLT]Globaltoken - Fast worldwide online payments! on: October 07, 2017, 02:59:24 AM
GLOBAL TOKEN UPDATE
There are proposals to come out with a new blockchain and wallet for GlobalToken

THere is either going to be a complete swap or a snapshot will be taken to allow users to get access to new GlobalTokens on the new chain using private keys.
Whatever be the case. We do not want anyone to lose a single coin so information will be made available here and on the slack
Below are some reasons for the proposal of the new chain

1. To make GLT more into a better cryptocurrency for the long term
2. To make transactions faster thus making the crypto more ideal for online retail environment
3. To make the difficulty readjust with each block rather than the initial 10 blocks
4. To make GLT more "green" by using POS predominantly through staking and masternodes rather than POW mining with ASICs which consume a lot of power/electricity which can be channeled for other home and industrial purposes
5. To introduce optional anonymization of transactions on the blockchain
6. To take the burden of the funding of the project off the community through donations by community members and rather make the project fund itself by allocating 8% of the block reward as treasury which will be controlled by masternode holders through voting for proposals
and more

Point 2 will be the mainstay of GlobalToken. More focus will be on making GlobalToken into a cryptocurrency that will be ideal for making smooth, fast, and secure online and offline payments
If you are a seasoned developer and you can work on GlobalToken to add some unique features and capabilities to help realize this in a more pronounced way, feel free to join slack and pm me (@globalt) https://join.slack.com/t/globaltoken/shared_invite/enQtMjE4NDg4OTgyMTQ3LWMxZjVjYWM1MWEwNDJjZjNhOTcyODRmOTlkOTQ4NzNlODM2MDIxNjhlYmFkZTQ5ZDRkNTAyNTgzOTlmYmJjNjM

There surely are many more factors too.
It was meant as a rough way to describe that the amount of locked coins is important.
We dont wanna end up like SIB vs DASH. 5K nodes that hardly pays anything and not enough coins locked up to constrict the supply.

I guess i would put my money in 1500 XLR more than 1k.
Id feel "better lock up too many and moon like fack than not lock up enough and just stay on the floor"

I agree with you. I think 1500 XLR as collateral would be ideal  Wink
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 💥SOLARIS XLR ⚡ Masternode and new network start 07 October, 14:00 UTC⚡ Xevan on: October 02, 2017, 04:29:48 PM
For consideration:

If 1000 XLR is req. for a masternode, have you done some models on how that will model when the supply is higher?

Current supply is 538,908 XLR ?
How much % would 1000xlrmn lock up if you compare to other coins?

How many nodes will you have to have running to lock up enough coins at max supply, 10 000 000?

coin:    supply:   Nodes:  mnCost:   Locked:     Node value BTC
DASH        7M     4568         1k          60%      75!
BSD         15M      323        25k          48%      2,5
SYNX       15M      642          5k          21%      0,27
NTRN       31M      260        25k          21%      0,9
CRAVE     1,3M     483        0,5K          17%      0,28

XLRnow   0,5         x          1k            x             0,14
XLRfutr    10M      2000    1K            20%             x
XLRfutr    10M      4000    1K            40%             x

XLRfutr   10M      2000    1,5K         30%             x
XLRfutr   10M      4000    1,5K         60%             x

LoL... dont know if any of you understood any of that.
But i tried showing that EVEN with the same number of nodes as DASH, you wont lock up enough coins to blow the price to space.

your stats are correct,
Your deductions are wrong.

If you are going to do any valid comparison, it should be done on a fair grounds and not to confuse anyone who is looking at what you have posted
  • You have failed to consider the coins you have listed have different market caps. To put this into consideration and to bring things to level ground, you have make your calculation this way
Ratio of Masternode collateral amount : Max supply
  • You have considered DASH at its current supply of 7 million and you seem to be considering XLR at its max supply of 10 mill. Thats unfair
    I will tell you why
Dash has about 40 to 45% of its supply in circulation. and has 4500 nodes.  Lets also assume XLR has 40 to 45% of its supply cirulating making it 4.5 million.
With 4500 XLR nodes, what percentage is locked up?
Answer is 100%  which is virtually impossible.
That makes a very huge lock up of XLR coins

your stats may be right but its skewed to favour your point and your deductions are wrong.

Nevertheless i still think an XLR masternode should be 1500 XLR because we cant compare ourselves to the top coins like DASH yet, and second because it will take a while to climb up the coinmarketcap ladder
