They parted ways with coach Laurent Blanc after bad results at the start of the season. They then signed Fabio Grosso. But they continued to get bad results. The victory achieved by Liverpool made them manage to get 2nd place in the standings. Liverpool does have a better performance than Fulham but I think their defense doesn't look solid enough and this is what made them concede 3 goals. Even though Liverpool dominated the match, Fulham actually did not play badly. They even made a bit of a surprise when they scored a goal in the 80th minute which put them ahead 3-2 for a while, but Liverpool managed to make a comeback and ended the match with a 4-3 win.

These two things are quite difficult for Manchester United because the opponents they face are quite tough opponents in Group A so far and Copenhagen and Galatasaray will also try their best to win so they can qualify for the next round.
