2001  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Testimonial during cryptocurrency hearing -Ben McKenzie Crypto is a ponzi scheme on: December 27, 2022, 01:39:49 PM
There was something which came a few days ago that caught my eye since it does call upon the aftermath of what had transpired in the cryptospace within the last two months of the articles published by coindesk of FTX's commingling of funds between the two companies.
"The end of crypto?" - The Agenda with Steve Paikin
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCNfltV5S1U

This video asks the speakers opinion's on how the industry will recover the reputation in the eyes of corporate entities in the space.
It always seems to come down to the question "Can you buy coffee with it?"

Watch it as it is not an anti-crypto video just like the previous one was with Ben McKenzie, who was in the court and sitting besides Kevin Oleary in the FTX hearing a few weeks ago.
They discuss about how this will impact retail investors and not just the VCs in the cryptospace.
2002  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright might be Satoshi Nakamoto on: December 27, 2022, 12:53:11 PM
Maybe Craig Wright received this public addresses from satoshi or from somebody else. Maybe he even obtained them illegally. We can not know it. With bitcoin there are very specific and easy ways, to prove ownership. The public adress is not one of them.

... the address was used many times.

OP means that these addresses had incoming transactions but not one outgoing transaction. (in this case: no outgoing transaction = unused address)

Ok that makes sense.
It had been made public knowledge he did break into one of the first adopters of bitcoins house and stole some articles which were probably containing these addresses.
It was brought into a court of law and he was proven guilty to the crime.
If I am not mistaken he had been brought into court several times in the past few years about being satoshi and in all instances proven wrong by the judge in all cases. So he is certainly not the creator of bitcoin.
Only in his own mind but that is about it.

Interesting developments in this story of account sharing in dota, thanks for the news on that ralle14.
We still have one match in the Xmas BetBoom Playoffs today to see who gets a spot in the final:

Your wish was granted @arallmuus !
We have Sportsbet Specials for the EPL being back after a long break from World Cup action once more.

And they are certainly spicy enough I took a rather big bet on one of them all because EPL is back.
2005  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: December 25, 2022, 04:50:23 PM
Same here @morvillz7z haven't placed many bets for straight NBA matches on any of my betslips in a while.
But with not many games playing it makes it easier to choose from where to put your thoughts on the matches.
Placed them for the first three games and on player props instead of just ML or points O/U like I usually make and put them in with some other markets.
Here are mine for the holiday season:

Does anyone ever pay attention to the Bitcoin price specials? It's never hit a single time since it launched last year. Now the current one is 30k by December, which of course will never hit. Even 20k is a dream with 6 days left.

Should we not ask SB to at least raise the odds of that special? That might actually interest more people to bet on it. 1.01x is hardly attractive for such a high target Tongue
It has been there for a while and seen it as a placement holder all this time. Because 1.01x isn't really a bet to place on anything other than to gain experience points on a casino to upgrade to a vip level they are offering or to get some sort of reward for reaching those levels.
Maybe they have it there for prosperity purposes at this point.
But it is a promotion for you question is a valid one to ask on here.
As many has said before, there isn't going to a be a santa rally for bitcoin this year as it is Christmas day and it hasn't moved from it's previous price in more than a few weeks now.
Don't believe there will be a boxing day drop this year either for this staleness of the price of bitcoin.
2007  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: December 25, 2022, 04:26:21 PM
The first and the last predictions for the matches you selected did win so congratulations on your wins for those.
The only one which didn't hit were the Lions as they were the surprise game that were played yesterday getting slammed early on by Carolina Panthers.
Vikings came out on top by 3 points so a close one there for your pick but it did manage to make it out on top.
Bengals were the only real solid win from the matches I placed bets on along with the Chiefs.

Today we have three games all separated by several hours so don't have to switch channels every few minutes to see how your picks are doing.

Did you guys get all the notification for the Drops in Telegram? I left my Telegram open on my phone and computer and I only saw about 4 or 5 the whole time.... I was online for about 20 hours yesterday. (Not just gambling.... just prepared for today and chilling with friends & family)

In any way... all of the best for Eddie's Stream... I have a feeling that it is going to be a HUGE one.... Eddie will definitely make this one special and if I do not see you guys for Xmas.....Enjoy it to the max!!!  Wink
Some times it doesn't send out notifications for all of them, I noticed that too. Think missed about three or four of them out of the nine given out for yesterdays number of drops. Nothing too big since they are $5 each one. The other day there were 12 so that is around $60 which was a good present for these holiday giveaways.

There was a huge win on the bonus buys they were doing on today's stream:

$150,200 win from a slot $10k bonus buy just a couple of minutes ago to a platinum I user by the name of lippy1.
That was an very insane amount since they only won $112 on the previous $10k bonus buy. The owner did a poll to do a reroll and they voted for them to get it done.
That was a very nice present for their Christmas.

Sportsbet hasn't let off their game, new 4-3-free and bet-6 as I posted earlier, and today's special on the EFL cup as well: United to win and under 3.5 goals isn't too bad at 25/10: https://sportsbet.io/sports/sportsbet-specials/daily-specials/efl-cup/matches

I'm of course betting on them to lose Wink
EFL Cup matches were very good to the Manchester sides. Manchester United was 2-0 for the special to win the other day and Manchester City won their match yesterday 3-2 against Liverpool.
Got the match at over 3.75 goals at 2.32x so those were easy to get with both teams after a long break and wanting to get back to the action.

Can't wait until the EPL starts up this weekend again.

I usually don't bet a lot, but after playing ~10 tickets daily during the WC my fingers are a bit itchy when I don't have a ticket that is still live hahah
Welcome to my world. Now I am waiting for summer lull when there isn't any conventional sports and you texting me something like: "What was that you were talking about eSports? have you got some good DOTA tips for today?"

I don't think there was a day in the last 10 years when I did not play a ticket. Not always for big money but something has to be wagered every morning.
Have been betting on some dota2 matches lately from ralle14 mention of it on the Sportsbet.io esports thread for tips on these matches.
Won both bets I had placed as singles so he does know his stuff when it comes to dota.
2013  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon musk is for crypto or just for attention to boost Tesla, SpaceX? on: December 23, 2022, 04:25:38 AM
He most likely have investments in crypto at the time that he's so bullish with shilling memecoins. Which he also them funneled into Tesla hence part of the reason for its high valuation last year. Now that he's done with crypto, or at least so it seems, I doubt he'd ever do anything to maybe even boost its popularity to the people. Especially now that people sre seeing him for who he truly is which is a trust-fund baby with anger issues and nigh-zero social skills. His credibility on the internet is waning fast and it's better now that he's leaving crypto alone instead of shilling it and dragging us along with him and his mess.
This is a new term I haven't heard somebody referred to him but from what I have seen about his past he certainly could be.
As a child he was carrying emeralds in his pockets to show to his class mates so that does show as being the sort at an early age from his upbringing.

But about the subject about him and his company owning bitcoin and what they are going to do with it, Tesla has been suffering lately with him selling off nearly $3.6bln of it's stock. So it doesn't look like he is doing to well after the buying of twitter.
https://www.forbes.com/sites/siladityaray/2022/12/15/musk-sells-nearly-36-billion-in-tesla-stock-moves-further-away-from-richest-person-title/?sh=2c4a04076015

So he might be looking to sell off some of that bitcoin he has on Tesla's books so to offset his losses on the sale of twitter to him.

For the matchup tonight between the Jets and the Jags I chose Trevor Lawrence to score over 1.5 touchdowns.
Made the bet the other day along with a dota2 match we were talking about on the esports topic:

Because what they did to the Cowboys was too good not to be hyped about this game and not score some more.
2016  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Edward Snowden is ready to become Twitter CEO for bitcoin pay on: December 21, 2022, 11:42:05 AM
I'm waiting for Elon to come up with another tweet concerning the poll that he has made. It seems that he'll kick himself out of the CEO position and having that said, Snowden applies for it showing his interest in the position. I doubt that Elon will just actually give him that position since he's no longer a US citizen. Just a few months ago Snowden was granted by the Russian government his citizenship there. So, there could be some conflicts with it along with personal interest.
He won't. It was sort of a pun on Snowden behalf since he knows twitter is a US based company and he is a fugitive of the US government thus can not own or operate anything within it's borders.
Addition to this Elon wouldn't be able to pay him in bitcoin since he probably will end up selling his holdings due to his other companies stocks had been suffering since his takeover of the platform. Some have speculated it has taken all his time away from the operating of his other companies.

F1 2023 schedule was announced with the dates to expect the races and their locales.
These can be reviewed below:

Some regulation changes have been given to each team. Just seen them on a video from youtube so of course those have not been officially confirmed by FIA.
2018  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon musk is for crypto or just for attention to boost Tesla, SpaceX? on: December 21, 2022, 09:52:06 AM
^^
That's the thing, he buys out these companies and just installs another ceo in his place.
You see a pattern developing here? Now with twitter he is asking the public if he should step down.
Then who would replace him in this instance?
There is even Edward Snowden who has said he would take his place in the company if he were to be paid in bitcoin for the assignment.
Which is amusing in itself. He was the main reason why it became so popular when it did early on a decade ago.
2019  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: December 20, 2022, 11:35:43 PM
Well in the ongoing of the world cup i didnt go well with my bets, but..... my outright placed before the start works.
And for me was double prizes because im argentinian.
Well its 6.5 odds though so with atleast 5 mbtc in this bet, you should be getting decent amount from this bet already. So anyone else ended up betting on Argentina as well aside from darxiaomi and Trofo? Dang it France, absolute insane comeback just to throw the game in the penalty shootout but yeah Emiliano Martinez was very good on penalty shootout
Alot of people including myself bet on Argentina to lift the trophy and not on 1x2 like so many others did and lost their bets on this.
I even posted on another thread where I had them to win it all because I simply knew Messi could not be denied the greatest title to exist in football and be eluded of it in his final chance to grab it.
Good for him and I am really happy to see him prevail at this achievement!

It is a declared a national holiday today as they are still partying it up with the Argentina national team arriving in Buenos Aires last night.

Instagram has Messi with the trophy as the most liked post on there, the previous was an egg. Wink
2020  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon musk is for crypto or just for attention to boost Tesla, SpaceX? on: December 20, 2022, 01:14:47 PM
This poll setup by Elon was really a ploy to see how the platform performed against what he was striving to condemn in the first place:

https://www.bbc.com/news/business-64034892

Some were saying put Jack Dorsey back as CEO however this might end Elon Musk will remain the owner and have the last say on everything that happens at the company, regardless if he steps down as CEO or not.
