How long was 9/11 "on the news"? Or Iraqi "weapons of mass destruction"?

Ron Paul: US 'likely hiding truth' on downed Malaysian Flight MH17http://rt.com/usa/179284-ron-paul-mh17-ukraine/In an effort to inject some balance of opinion, not to mention pure sanity, into the ongoing debate over what happened to Malaysian Flight MH17, Ron Paul is convinced the US government is withholding information on the catastrophe.
"The US government has grown strangely quiet on the accusation that it was Russia or her allies that brought down the Malaysian airliner with a Buk anti-aircraft missile," Paul said on his news website on Thursday.
"It’s hard to believe that the US, with all of its spy satellites available for monitoring everything in Ukraine, that precise proof of who did what and when is not available," the two-time presidential candidate said.
"Too bad we can’t count on our government to just tell us the truth and show us the evidence," Paul added. "I’m convinced that it knows a lot more than it’s telling us."

USA sends to Norway a large batch or military hardware, including M1A1 tanks. The shipment is done by seas. USA stated a goal of building a large NATO base right on the Russian border: http://www.bfm.ru/news/268404

That's a very interesting read to see what Germany thinks, and not the MSM Germany. Looks like only trade papers have any semblance of sense left. It is also fun to watch how the author walks on the eggshells around the topic of Crimean reunification with Russia, still siding with the official line. I find this quote quite interesting. Especially in the light of new that USA is moving a lot of military hardware to NATO storage bases in Norway, with a stated intent of establishing a large military base right on the Russian border. If the West had judged the then US government which marched into Iraq without a resolution by the UN and without proof of the existence of “WMDs“ by the same standards as today Putin, then George W. Bush would have immediately been banned from entering the EU. The foreign investments of Warren Buffett should have been frozen, the export of vehicles of the brands GM, Ford, and Chrysler banned.
The American tendency to verbal and then also military escalation, the isolation, demonization, and attacking of enemies has not proven effective. The last successful major military action the US conducted was the Normandy landing. Everything else – Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan – was a clear failure. Moving NATO units towards the Polish border and thinking about arming Ukraine is a continuation of a lack of diplomacy by the military means.

I am not avoiding anything. No one said it was the same army in any of the reports (or am I missing something)?
The title is obsolete. It's should be more about the Left-bank Ukraine vs. Right-bank Ukraine. And the title was misleading from the beginning. It wasn't about "way to Russia" it was about "way to self-determination and federalisation that was met with bullets from Kiev".

The battle maps change almost hourly. It's like the civil war under Polish intervention of the 1918 all over again. There is no uniform Ukrainian army - there are disparate groups, belonging to various oligarchs and factions fighting here and there, and destroying as much as they can in the process.

Ukrainian school books removed the term "Great Fatherland War", and instead have a chapter on Bandera's "Actions of UPA" http://rusvesna.su/news/1407623854The school books with also replace Soviet-time propaganda with US-coined propaganda. For example, the term "Soviet Ukraine" will be replaced with the term "Ukraine under totalitarian rule". Holodomor will be portrayed as a planned genocide of Ukrainian people (even though it touched the whole of USSR, and in Ukraine it mainly hit the Russian East) Shouldn't Ukrainian schoolbooks also mention that the most influential in USSR Communist party cells were Ukrainian, with Ukraine producing many of the domination Soviet leadership figures? And symbolically: The 9 meter high monument to the fallen soldiers at Saur Grave has been destroyed: http://rusvesna.su/news/1407668426Here is how it looked before:

38 minutes late: Report reveals firefighters' delayed response to deadly Odessa blazehttp://rt.com/news/179236-ukraine-odessa-fire-response/Despite desperate calls from witnesses, Odessa fire brigades came to the scene of the notorious Trade Unions House blaze only 38 minutes after it was reported, leaked transcripts of emergency calls show. The fire claimed the lives of 48 people in May.
The leaked transcripts involve calls which local emergency services reportedly received on the evening of May 2.
...
Between 7:36 and 7:43, the rescue service received four phone calls reporting the fire.
“A building at Kulikovo field is on fire, why aren’t you coming?" a caller asked at 7:48. “They are coming, coming,” the dispatcher responded. “Ok, are you waiting till it burns down?” the caller said
Another 12 calls were received within the next 10 minutes.
“Hello, this building has been on fire for 15 minutes now. Is anyone coming or not?” a caller said.
The transcript shows that the first order to “send one unit to Kulikovo” was made at 7:56 – 25 minutes after dispatchers received the first call, when only tents had been set ablaze.
Meanwhile, desperate people kept calling: “Hello? Are you coming?” a caller asked.
“Yes, they are,” dispatcher said.
“But we will burn down now,” said the caller. A note in brackets says the person calling was sobbing. richard 10.08.2014 10:22
Some areas of the Trades Union building have been bricked up, and the basement where very many of the 116 protesters and friends were raped and cremated alive, and the still-living executed, has been closed and will be infilled.. The west tries to hide these attrocious war crimes. (and so for some reason does RT) But like the Kiev Nazis, they are incompetent and disorganised, and do everything badly.

'Spreading the truth': Spanish volunteers join fight against Kiev in E. Ukraine (VIDEO)http://rt.com/news/179240-spanish-volunteers-eastern-ukraine/Two Spanish volunteers have joined the fight against Kiev’s offensive on eastern Ukraine, speaking out against the actions of the nation's military. They say their main objective is to spread the truth about the conflict.
Anhel Davilla-Rivas, 29, and Rafa Munez, 28, arrived in Donetsk two weeks ago to offer their assistance to the residents of eastern Ukraine.
“More people have to come here. If they don’t want not to take the guns but...all people can help in something: in the kitchen, cleaning, telling the truth to countries from here, and watching the situation with their own eyes. It is more important that a lot of people come here and help in what they can, not necessarily only soldiers.”

That is news from Malaysia.
Which should make everyone question the accuracy of the information. That site is questioning the official Malaysian line. It seems that the Malaysian government has been bought off. Hishammuddin pushes the US line: http://www.nst.com.my/node/21682"Based on military intelligence and evidence from a portion of fragments found, it is not likely the bullets were used from air to air but from surface to air. "Whether these were owned by Ukraine or the rebels who supplied by Russia. the bullets must have come from BUK System and this matter cannot be denied by Europe, Nato or Russia," he told reporters after officiating the Bera Umno's Wanita, Youth and Puteri wing division meeting here today. The BUK missile is pretty large - the size of a small airplane. Where are remains of it, remains of its engine? Where are the debris from the missile? And in this article: Malaysia wants the ‘missing’ Ukrainian ATC tapes http://www.nst.com.my/node/21260You can see another interesting "official" statement: Humennyi said that if a formal request was made by Malaysia or the international investigation team, Ukraine would extend its cooperation. At one point, Humennyi seemed to question the significance of the ATC tapes, saying that “it is just the same as the flight data and cockpit voice recorders”. Which is not the case at all.

Why is Steven Seagal in Ukraine? It doesn't seem like a good holiday destination right now He's not in Ukraine, but in Sevastopol. After the show, he was presented with a T-shirt propitiating Putin (which he tried on), and a statue of a "stron warrior" (bogatyr'). He thanked the gathered public in Russian. During an interview he agreed that music is the best way to promote peace among peoples.

Predictions: Ukraine May Stop Russian Gas Transit to EUhttp://futuristrendcast.wordpress.com/2014/08/08/predictions-ukraine-may-stop-rassian-gas-transit-to-eu/This just in: Ukraine may stop Russian gas transit to EU. Kiev is considering a package of 26 sanctions against Russia, targeting just about all important industries and facets of life, including Russian gas transit, machinery, aviation, transport, military, medicine and more. See report from RT, including a map of current Russian gas pipelines through Ukraine and Belarus.
...
There are only two possibilities why Kiev would be gearing for the Russian gas shut-off, and I suspect that both are true:
1. The Kiev “authorities” are so dumb that they simply can’t grasp what kind of disaster they are about to inflict on themselves and Europe.
2. They are fulfilling a direct order from their handlers in Washington. I share the author's view on the following: This can inflict some damage on the Russian economy as well; however, as I said before, Russian economy is in desperate need of a healthy restructuring in order to get rid of the hiccups and distortions of the ’90s. Russians were too comfortable to start such massive restructuring on their own. The external push, such as events in Ukraine and Western sanctions, are forcing Russia to start this very necessary process. The result can only be one: Russian economy will emerge out of it much stronger than before. See also: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-6piNKW1lI

What bothers me the most is the title of the thread. It makes it as if Tzar Putin sits on a throne and hands out laws. Whereas in reality, the legislative branch in Russian Federation is State Duma (Parliament), and they can be quite creative with the laws they coin. Putin may suggest that something needs attention. So can a quite powerful lobby that has seen a number of laws not favourable to Russia passed.
This blogger law, as well a number of laws targeting the internet are not well thought-out, but they are there to protect Russia from the 5th column and a repeat attempt on performing a colour revolution, just like it was done in many post-Soviet countries. Russia has military to protect it against an open armed invasion. No one says that Russia should not have an army. (OK, maybe US complains a bit that Russia moves its army within its own borders.) But the world is changing and an invasion can take different forms. These laws are forming a groundwork for a defence system that aim to protect Russia from this new threat vector. These laws will also need to be refined and revised. And the current outcry and pointing out of the absurdities will be a valuable feedback to further legislative effort.
And to digress. If Russia, as a democracy, decides to have a ruler with monarch-like powers, is it in US jurisdiction to say that such a choice is wrong undemocratic and perform a corrective democratic bombing/sanctioning? There's been precedents for such a democratic choice of monarchy: Novgorod Republic is one. So what if Putin has the support of the population and said population chooses to go the way of more authocratarian leader? Russia in general has a tendency to view a need for a strong central figure. If Obama became a president of Russia, he would be expected to look into all local affairs and to personally direct local bureaucrats on complaints from the citizens. There was one time when Russia started to drift away from the strong central ruler - after the February revolution of 1917, when the foundation for constitutional monarchy and for state Duma were laid. However, that path of development was cut short, and Russia again fell under the central monarch-like rule of the Soviet leaders. What Russia is going through now is a way of finding a governance system that works for it and the mindset of the people populating the country. That this emergent form might not coincide with what the Western "democracies" view as "correct", is not the business of those Western countries.
