I'll wait and see what other offers you get. Without an ONO price I'll probably be one of those 'offering you a silly price' haha. I like bargains. Plus I'd rather get my hands on an iPhone 4s.

Is it unlocked to all networks and are you only interested in BTC? I have LTC and FTC as well, and would be more inclined to part with some of them than BTC.
20062  Economy / Goods / Re: Iphone 3GS 16gb Jailbroken on: November 29, 2013, 02:45:26 PM
I am from UK, I will ship to most destinations and i will happily use a trusted escrow service

i will get some images up online this afternoon as i am at work at the moment and the only camera i have with me is the phone i am selling lol

You should suggest an ONO price. You'll get some silly offers otherwise. I'd be interested, but really depends on the price. If you do sell it here, just make sure you send it signed for delivery cos this will be your only proof in case they try scam you.

My Client still doesn't sync, when is the new version coming out? I believe you that I have balance, but I can´t see it.

I'm in the same position as you. I believe they're working on a fix, but there's no word on when it'll be available.

Ok thanks, I´ll just wait and forget about them and check them back when they are worth $1000. Heheh kidding...

Haha, you never know. Check ebay, people are paying ridiculous prices for 'em.

Ok, thanks for the reply, so really I want to stop buying on Bittylicious and instead buy them from localbitcoins I suppose as its a fair bit cheaper.

I want to buy a few thousand worth and then sell them on and reinvest the profit ideally.

Has anyone got any experience of doing this? Would be great if anyone could impart some knowledge and point out the pitfalls!

Just do that. Buy some, wait X amount of time, the sell on an exchange. Hopefully by the time you come to sell them there will be even better exchanges and ways to sell. Hopefully ebay will sort their lives out and build a decent escrow system for cryptos. If not, I'm sure there will be other companies working on this. Good look with your investment.

Oh, and If you can't find any on localbitcoins, just get them from Bittylicious or do some research on others, and if you do buy in cash from localbitcoins, just be careful. Meet in a public place, and don't take any sweeties they may offer you haha.

Fixed it for you haha.
20067  Economy / Auctions / Re: bitcoinforsale@gmail.com email address for sale on: November 29, 2013, 02:16:39 PM
.15 starting bid

For this to be worth anything you need to get the same email done at aol, yahoo, etc.. anyone can go make those emails. You need the name to be taken on every service. Good luck

why would that make a difference? do you need many emails on those domains to prove a working sales strategy?
i'd say, one or all. they are equally worth.. next to nothing.

Haha. I'm offering bitcoinforsale@gmail.co.uk for .14
20068  Other / Meta / Is there any way to add 'spoiler tags' to posts? on: November 29, 2013, 02:07:16 PM
This would obviously be good for people wishing to discuss tv shows/films, but I'd like to use it to hide various pictures of items I want to sell in the marketplace. Like, I'll show one main picture of the item, but then hidden in the spoiler tags there will be numerous other pictures of the same item showing details and different angles etc. I really don't want to clog up a thread with 20 pictures of one item as it'll be messy, and if people are interested in that particular item they can click to view more pics easily.

Thoughts on this?

Thanks in advance.
20069  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Alt-Coins on: November 29, 2013, 01:59:14 PM
I 'm not talking about buying. I 'm talking about selling since the buyer can wait for the coins to arrive and then open a dispute and chargeback the money. It's risky for the seller.

Well, with every transaction there's going to be a seller. I didn't issue a charge-back and everybody was happy. There are ways of getting around or minimising being scammed, but like everyone has said, it is very risky selling. Depends if you’re prepared to take the risk, and if you are the premium price you get for your coins will pay off. You can even afford to get scammed a couple of times and you'll still be in profit.

I watched two eBay auctions end of few days ago with final sales of 20 and then 30 LTC coins go twice over the official exchange displayed rates.

Isn't selling coins on ebay risky. I mean you can chargeback on ebay like paypal can't you?

Yes it is, but sometimes it's worth the risk because the mark-up is so huge. I bought all my first coins on ebay with paypal and was happy to pay a little premium for the ease of getting them without doing bank transfers and going through exchanges. I also liked that if I got scammed, I would be able to get my money back. Thankfully that didn't happen.

They just don't have the people or technology to stop all the sellers at the moment.

They do. All they need to do is simply put into place something that auto-checks listings and disallows them with any mention of certain keywords such as 'bitcoin'. You can list games consoles on ebay, but if you put the words 'chipped' or 'hacked' or 'modified' in there it wont let you list it.

20072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whats "backing" bitcoin? on: November 29, 2013, 12:56:00 PM

It doesn't work like that. Things are only worth what people are prepared to pay. Companies can choose the value of Porsche, fuel and games consoles, but if they try sell them at ridiculous, unaffordable prices; people wont pay it. If we all agreed that we're not going to pay for fuel at it's current prices; guess what: the companies would have to lower the price of it. Supply and demand.

lol oh you and others are just proving my very first line
Quote
when i see people say, when someone wants something, they assign a value to it and that becomes the price.. WHAT A LOAD OF B.S

that is high school level minded answers... please ditch your ABC books and your maths for dummys books and get into the real world..

no company would sell anything at a loss... meaning below production price... get this through to the reality center of your minds people.

You're wrong: http://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2013/09/20/sony-to-take-a-loss-on-playstation-4-sales/

Many games consoles and also other companies sell at a loss. Sometimes on purpose, sometimes not. If a PS4 costed a ridiculous amount to make and was priced at a $10,000, very few people would buy it. When people refuse to pay for something, the company will likely go out of business or they will need to reduce the price to survive. I think it was the original Mini Cooper that was selling at a loss initially even though they didn't admit it. I think it was Ford couldn’t understand how they were making a car for so cheap so they tried themselves to replicate it and failed. It later turned out Mini were selling the cars at quite big loss. They wanted to sell a car "anybody could afford". The cars became massively popular and the demand and price rose for them, so the marketing turned out to be very affective in the long run even though they were initially losing money on each vehicle.

There's also the Gillette razorblades model. He sold the razors for hardly anything and at a loss so people would buy them. He hoped people would pay a ridiculous price for the blades and they did: http://www.investopedia.com/terms/r/razor-razorblademodel.asp

Your logic and the way you conduct your argument is very "high school level minded".

What did you delete my post for?

Double-post. You have posted the same thing already, and nobody has answered. Also the original will soon be deleted, because it is useless to have a question which is not answered.

That is absolutely ridiculous logic. What's the meaning of life? Oh, it hasn't been answered so far so it's a useless question and must be repressed and removed.

Fine to delete a double post, but why delete a valid question that people are still looking for an answer to? I haven't seen any sources for Keiser's coins or many of the others on the list, so without sources this list is useless, not my comment looking for some facts. I'll never get an answer if you remove it.

It's not really worth the gamble unless you're going for the full 1200+ for 0.60 BTC, but I'd still rather stick with Stunna. Hope you guys get some coins though.

he is new still need time to show his worth if you not want to participate in this then its ok why are you discouraging others if some one want to take chance its his right he can do this

Why am I discouraging people who are likely to get scammed? I'm offering friendly advice, they don't have to take it. I didn't tell anyone to not do it, just why take the risk? Why go for this which might be a complete waste of time and effort when there's somebody who has been doing the same for longer just for a tiny bit less and there's good evidence that he pays out. If the guy wanted to "show his worth" he could've done this by using a bond or putting the cash in escrow. That's up to him.

Should I not offer advice to newbs in what are most likely blatant scam threads? I usually never say "DO NOT DO THIS THIS IS A BLATANT SCAM", just advise that I'm sceptical. And I never said this was a scam, just advised users to take caution and offered what appears to be a safer alternative. I'm only trying to help out. If they want to take the risk, that's fine. I'd rather risk taking 0.4BTC from somebody who appears to be trusted than risk taking 0.6 from a newb with zero trust and getting nothing. If people want to take that chance, then as I said before I hope you guys get some coins, and if he pays out he will have gained our trust and a lot of business.

Why are you not participating in this?
20075  Other / Off-topic / Re: No Fap anyone? on: November 29, 2013, 11:33:42 AM

Foxpup speaks truth. If it's not having a negative affect on your life, then it's fine. Hey, you can smoke crystal meth once in a while if you want and it should be fine, but when you start doing it daily to compensate for that emptiness you feel inside and then stealing from others to pay for your habit, then you've got a problem. I'm not aware anybody has ever stole from someone to pay off their fapdebts.

Dismantling the internet? What absolute piddle. They gonna ban computers next? Countries building their own Intranet is possible and is talked about, but mass adopting it and completely shutting out the net is ridiculous. The governments who control their own intranets will probably just use it to spy on their own people any way.
20077  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Varying bitcoin prices and a few questions. on: November 29, 2013, 11:21:58 AM
Hi guys, so I am relatively new to the bit coin world and I have a few questions:

why is there such a large price difference between bit coin exchanges? on Bittylicious it is now £900 and on mt.gox it is around £713! I have read a little about it and I understand that Bittylicious is convenient for UK buyers (where I am bases) but surely it's way over priced?

I bought .2 bitcoins for £150 2 days ago and now they want £180! But the value of bitcoin has not risen anywhere near this amount.

I am looking for the best way to invest around £1000-£2000 from the UK. I hear Bitstamp is the most reliable way from the UK, would any one recommend this?

What is stopping me from depositing £2000 with mt.gox and then selling it on Bittylicious?

Thanks for any help guys and sorry these questions have been asked before, but I couldn't find anything about it on the forum.

Bittylicious does seem to be the best for us UK-ers. Nothing is stopping you. You can make a bit of money just by buying and selling from one exchange to the other. MtGox is terrible for sellers because they have trouble getting their money out, especially in the states, so that could be why. Price will always differ on certain exchanges for a number of factors, but yeah, the price difference is ridiculous.

You could try localbitcoins or check gumtree or whatever for peeps in your area to buy some coins from in person. You can sometimes find better deals because sellers don't have to deal with the fees and the hassle of exchanges. I'm sure you could haggle if you're buying £1-2Ks worth.
20078  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whats "backing" bitcoin? on: November 29, 2013, 11:01:24 AM
the backing notion is a very funny argument to me.
Everything is very relative, yeah gold is backed by ohh wait 2000 years of trading? Just as monarchy was before we kick the ass of the kings and just swap.
Things are backed by faith and faith can change. It happens all the time to be true.

We changed politic system , we changed religion, we changed currency, we changed language sometimes for good reason, sometimes for bad and sometimes for no reason.

Any reason is good to me, bitcoin is a step forward period.

This is it. The state of the world and peoples' apathy to major issues continually perplexes and appals me. People feel so defenceless to change anything, but they don't realise they power we hold and how easily we could change things for the better. It's us that hold the power, not governments, we only grant it to them, just your average sheeple cannot even comprehend this. Who continually votes for these crooks that do nothing but transfer tax payers money into the hands of corporations and spend billions of our taxes on wars? If everyone in the country refused to vote or pay taxes do you think politicians will work for free? Can they throw us all in jail? Who will pay for the prisons or the jailers? Who will fund the monarchs? They would have to get off their arse and earn their own money instead of living off the state. People simply do not understand our collective power.

Cryptocurrency could singe-handedly destroy the banksters and fiat money-printers if we as a people wanted it to. I'm not saying democracy is useless, but it has failed us. We can use a little bit of anarchy as our leverage for revolution. The current system is not sustainable or fair to anyone but those who profit billions from it.

Haha yeah, but it'll have to do at the moment. I'm eager to see how the coins have shifted since the price rises on most coins last night.
