20061  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for Partner for a New Bitcoin Business - Developer Wanted on: January 26, 2013, 05:08:07 PM
I'm going to have to side with gweedo as well... ASP.NET is horrible for scaling. Not technically, although the things POF.com have had to do to make it run well are pretty damning, but financially. A startup could really put to better use the $800 spent on each Windows Server license, not to mention the $2500+ for a MSSQL server (1 core!!!) license. Even their bizspark stuff has costs looming in the future. Also, for a Bitcoin web site you don't want to touch Azure for security reasons (at least not for the backend.)

ASP.NET is precompiled, so it will always be faster than php.

You don't need to spend any money up front when developing in .NET technologies.  You can use encryption on Azure, and scale as you need to.

Windows has nothing to do with the POST process.

If it's not making any kind of beeps or anything, first guess is your PSU is dead (even though lights are turning on). Try and swap it out with a known-good one. After that, it's real troubleshooting.

Or the motherboard could be fried.
20063  Other / Off-topic / Re: How did this guy get a scammer tag? on: January 26, 2013, 01:53:53 AM

You can delete every one of your posts, and be left with 0.  You just have to do it before you get the tag.
20064  Other / Off-topic / Re: BitTorrent Sync - distributed file synchronization, unlimited storage on: January 25, 2013, 11:58:12 PM

I read that earlier.

I'm missing something - how can they offer unlimited storage without putting it on third party hardware?
20065  Economy / Services / Re: Cheap Investigative Service on: January 25, 2013, 11:02:29 PM
I will not search celebrities, Wall Street Powerhouses, Law Enforcement, or athletes, or anyone that can get me in a lot of trouble!

Are you saying what you are doing is illegal?

From what I know of private investigation (I bought an online course but never took it) you only have access to the same information/tools as anybody else - nothing special.  If this information is public, how could you get into trouble?
20066  Economy / Lending / Re: looking to loan .5 bitcoins on: January 25, 2013, 08:41:35 PM
I am no scammer... enough said

Well, you are scamming/lying about something.

You say you are very good at poker, but yet you still need to borrow money.  That doesn't make sense.

“You shall not charge interest on loans to your brother, interest on money, interest on food, interest on anything that is lent for interest. You may charge a foreigner interest, but you may not charge your brother interest, that the Lord your God may bless you in all that you undertake in the land that you are entering to take possession of it." Deuteronomy 23:19-20

"If, however, the charge is true and no proof of the girl’s virginity can be found, she shall be brought to the door of her father’s house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death. She has done a disgraceful thing in Israel by being promiscuous while still in her father’s house. " Deuteronomy 22:20-1

Crazy that people are still influenced by these ancient "teachings".  Let's hope Meni doesn't have any daughters!  Grin
20068  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for 2.5 BTC Loan to Repay in one week at 3.5 BTC on: January 25, 2013, 05:55:20 PM
We paid back 3 days ago and hit some residual costs.  Already transferred the funds but we're crunched.

Can you provide the transaction ID showing you paid back?  So far we have seen zero proof that you have had any type of loan.  In your previous thread not a single person came forward to verify they had lent you coins.
20069  Other / Off-topic / Re: PC troubleshooting on: January 25, 2013, 02:45:27 PM
nothing is wrong with my system, I do a lot of computer repair for different clients and would like to know what others have used in the past with positive results.

Get these clients to pay you money.  Then you don't need a free program.   Wink

I like Spybot search and destroy.

20070  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buying Bitcoins w/ Paypal on: January 25, 2013, 02:43:13 PM
I need to purchase a few Bitcoins quick and I'm willing to do so over paypal with a long-standing member.  I need to 2 coins exactly and i'll pay market price + $5 extra, and send the money prior to receiving the coins.  I'm verified with Dwolla but the transactions take a few days to clear and I ned them sooner than later. Just PM me. Thanks!

After you receive the coins, you do a chargeback with paypal and win.  No thanks.

Now that's hitting below the belt.

Hitting?  Masturbation must be painful for you.  Smiley

Am I the only one that has extreme difficulty in typing the word 'thread'?
Takes at least 3 guesses to type it right.

Yes.

Change the title - you are saying you have 12 bitcoins to lend to someone else.
20076  Economy / Lending / Re: [BTCJAM] Long Term Reinvestment Loan on: January 22, 2013, 11:13:04 PM
How do you guarantee it?

20078  Economy / Lending / Re: Low life loaners on: January 22, 2013, 09:20:29 PM
Why do people feel the urge to to send money to some low life loaner for two days?

Loaners lend the money, not receive it.
20079  Economy / Lending / Re: TurMine Accel. Project - Need Multiple Investors/Financiers to Begin Next Week on: January 16, 2013, 01:15:39 AM
I would be very skeptical at this point.  That is one of the oldest scams in the book.  Claiming you already have X amount of investors and you just need a little more for the final push.

That will be pretty obvious if no one credible steps forward to confirm they have invested and have an .edu email.
20080  Economy / Lending / Re: TurMine Accel. Project - Need Multiple Investors/Financiers to Begin Next Week on: January 16, 2013, 12:07:00 AM
It's part of the assignment.  Our team has to solicit and receive funding from an outside party or group of individuals.  We thought approaching the Bitcoin community itself would be a win-win for all involved; funders get interest paid on their loans, and we fulfill the requirement.

Would you be willing to provide the professors .edu email and name, as well as the course name?  This will confirm your story and make it much more likely someone will lend to you, since they can contact your school if you don't pay the loan back.

We've been divulging that information after speaking with potential investors privately.  We're only 20 Bitcoins short of our goal of 70 at this point.

Can anyone confirm this?
