2021  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for Freelance work on: February 28, 2023, 07:28:56 PM
I'm a full stack engineer with 2 years of experience around web development, whether that be front end or back end.
As you have 2 years of experience you have a good number of portfolios. WOuld you like to share your work and experience here so that the potential buyer can review your projects/samples and work with you if they are interested after reviewing your project/sample? I do not think there is any chance to get a job without previous work experience.

Good point.

I will post some of my work:
https://www.headstashdelivered.com/
https://www.cannabisnorthcounty.com/
https://www.amandasfinejewels.com/

Looks good to me. I'm sure you can find a lot of job opportunities on Upwork with the kind of skills you got.  Full Stack Developers are always in demand in crypto projects and with just one search on Upwork you can easily find an employer.

Or you can even create one project for crypto users, be part of it for your portfolio and you could get reputably recognized by the community.
2022  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic implications of a US-China-Taiwan conflict on: February 28, 2023, 06:09:34 PM
So far, there is no reason to think that the US will lose its superpower status in the near future....

The United States is not directly involved in the Russian-Ukrainian war.  European countries suffer certain economic losses in the form of an increase in the cost of European products (most of the cost of production is the cost of acquiring hydrocarbons).

However, the United States bears no such economic cost.  Many talented European scientists, engineers, programmers in such a situation emigrate to the United States.

This will only strengthen this country economically.

It's going to take decades before the US becomes history. Even as it remains one of the leading superpowers of the world, countries are starting to step away from it by switching to alternative currencies (de-dollarization). American decline is inevitable to say the least.

Once the US is no longer a "force to reckon with", China and Russia would have no limitations in their ambitions to conquer the world. It's likely world democracy will fail once this happens. We're talking about a distant future that we might never experience during our lifetime. The world is full of uncertainty right now, so expect the unexpected. Who knows what would be of Taiwan in the long run? Just my thoughts Grin

It would take years maybe 500 years more. The British Empire still didn't evaporate to vanish forever instead created EU with Euro. I think USA will still be around as long as they won't nuke each other to ashes. And so will the dollar as well.

But base on history every empire decline, there will always be a war to expect. China and Russia has same capabilities that US have today, they can monitor each other through space.  What is certain is that all of them has nukes.

2023  Economy / Economics / Re: Money is for the important things on: February 28, 2023, 03:50:23 PM

Having a lot of money will give you a chance to choose which is what you really want in life. When you have stability and independence in life, you can achieve a clear mind with nothing to worry about in the future. I have the feeling that I may achieve such a state one day and will plan to have something I really own in life besides my very own family.

My want since a child was to become a fisherman, maybe I will go back to that significant goal and start living in my own boat that I may buy in the next 10 years.  Grin

2024  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jon Jones vs Ciryl Gane on: February 28, 2023, 02:52:23 PM
It's easy to side with Jones as he had been at the top as GOAT beating several opponents of a different caliber. Being at 35 and bloated his weight, it could be that his agility may be different by now.

On some other threads I visited, some discussions were actually not about him losing but whether will he win by submission or by decision. They seem to be very confident bettors as if Gane can't also strike Jones to KO. We're about to find out.
2025  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shiba Inu turns into privacy coin like Monero or ZCash? on: February 28, 2023, 02:29:55 PM
Regarding Monero, it has been a dominant privacy coin for a while now, and it is hard to say when or if another coin will dethrone it. However, the cryptocurrency market is known for its volatility and unpredictability, so it is always possible for new coins to gain traction and popularity.
The government is not attacking them yet, but for sure if the government sees it as a thread, Monero will face its biggest challenge and no one knows when this will happen.

If SHIB will become a privacy coin, then we must consider a lot of things before you invest again, first maybe this is just a hype and second, we have to wait for the plan of developer on how they will do this, and what are their future plans. It will be hard to replace Monero on top but I'm sure other projects will come into this market and compete with the top options.

It could be that they are just renewing the hype of SHIB, it's rank on CMC hasn't gone down though. I think there is no need for shiting to privacy to be able to outrank other tokens on top but SHIb may just have to develop further the Shibarium.

If the team however continues that privacy roadmap, they may gain users using the token in the darkweb. It just needs to have a substantial value for some users to consider accepting.
2026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake Loses $400K Bitcoin Bet on Jake Paul’s Bout on: February 28, 2023, 01:53:57 PM
However, Drake losing in gambling is not surprising anymore as he had lost thousands before this one. He isn't the only one who lost I should say, there were too many people just rooting for Jake and the bookies themselves seem to have confirmed it thru the odds.

$400k in one game, I could never get to do that even if I have millions. For Drake, I think it's forgivable. Drake had also made a lot of money many times through Jake's fights. The article says so.

2027  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need to better understand what market cap means on: February 27, 2023, 06:39:23 PM

It's the market that decides the price of a token. The price of A Token that is listed in all exchanges is averaged to determine the price which is listed on CMC. If one person decides the buy the token for more than $0.50 let's say $0.55, and it reflects in the orders, then that is the price of the token.

All those unlocked don't matter.  ETH has infinite supply AFAIK that doesn't mean its price will keep declining.
2028  Economy / Economics / Re: Would You Consider Adding Bitcoin to Your Retirement Savings on: February 27, 2023, 05:54:09 PM

This is like giving Fidelity Investments permission to use your funds to trade. In which they could profit, sell when the price hit ATH, and then buy again when the market hits the lowest low. This would really be good if there is transparency to it.
It could sound good when you hear about it but that would mean you get to wait til you are retired to get your BTC right?

It would be fun to hear what the elders who think alike like Charly Munger do. Those are the ones who are hard to convince.
2029  Economy / Economics / Re: Nigerian Central Bank seeks new CBDC partner on: February 27, 2023, 04:38:08 PM

They should just focus on BTC instead and do what El Salvador did.
The Nigerians knew thier banks are stealing from them and this enaira is no different since the central bank still owns it. When the central bank steals from its depositors, they are never punished for it.

Whether they get a new partner or not, there is no guarantee that the people who own the money are not gonna be robbed. They will rather be using Bitcoin.
2030  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still hunt for airdrops? on: February 27, 2023, 04:25:44 PM
They still come even if you don't seek airdrops. They are however not worth it anymore unlike back in 2017 when tokens you get from airdrop are listed on exchanges. You rarely see them listed these days and if they were to some unknown exchange, they only are worth $0.002 while you only get 100 tokens.

When UNI airdropped 400 tokens to each wallet that used them, people tend to try out other DEX thinking those dexes will also airdrop tokens. Unfortunately, no real airdrops with real value anymore that I know since.
2031  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hypothetical Question on: February 27, 2023, 03:33:20 PM
If you place your bet into many bookie, your winnings might be investigated because all the accounts won the same game at the same time, which can make it suspicious.

I will prefer to bet a small amount of money to avoid any suspects and the rest of the money for other purposes, instead of losing all to the casino because of greed. Someone with a million dollars want to win big with it,he might end up losing it all,if he is finally caught by the casino. Start up a business or set up your own casino.

Whos the authority that would investigate such?

If it really happens where I got a tip about the outcome, then I would be really big but I will still question from whom this tip comes and could I trust it. Because this seems to be too good to be true.

We constantly see guys like this who provide forecasts in this forum. I found some who we can actually rely on but he still has some matches that weren't right. I paid a price for believing it. The tip could just be the same and I will just bet say $10K assuming I have millions. Will probably test many times of his tip.
2032  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC Fight Night & Main Event: Sportsbet.io Predictions & discussion on: February 27, 2023, 03:14:47 PM
Yeah it was strange to see a big PRIME promotional advertisement in the octagon because I thought Dana White didn't want to do any collaboration with
Jake Paul from their last meeting.
But then I found out it is his brother Logan who owns the drink company:
https://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/health-and-wellness/logan-paul-s-energy-drink-has-more-caffeine-than-the-legal-australian-limit-20230221-p5cm52.html
https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2023/02/26/prime-drink-paul-logan-ksi

But then there was this article I've read that was published days before the fight:
https://adage.com/article/marketing-news-strategy/celsius-hires-jake-paul-brother-logan-paul-who-owns-prime-energy-drink/2475621

"Celsius challenges his brother Logan Paul’s emerging energy drink, Prime"

So he is just the ambassador of this new brand and not associated with Prime.

Well, technically even though they are brothers Jake Paul is not associated with Prime drink and actually, it was really Logan Paul and KSI who were the owners but sure even though Jake Paul would be the endorser of some other energy drink it doesn't really matter because he got his own mind to think for himself, but whatever the situation they're in they will still be brothers,

And for the 1st time, Jake Paul was defeated by Tommy Fury surely Jake Paul is not really ready for the real deal as a professional boxer, but surely the referee was always involved in their fight that I was distracted by the ref, but talk about the speed of Fury but surely Jake Paul is also not a slack he can throw some vicious punches right there but Tommy Fury speed is catching up to Paul, and while he is punching it he is not looking at his target so Tommy Fury is a better boxer here,

Too bad I bet cheer for the wrong guy for I listen to many users who thinks Jake can actually beat a legitimate boxer. Truth is that I also believe Jakae can do it because his winning streak is too good to not actually get excited about it.

Also, it is indeed unusual to see main events canceled. It only looks like they are just hyping the card of this fight night to gain from tickets but they knew from the start the main event is not really happening and Dana knew it from the beginning. Just wearing my tinfoil hat.
2033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Solcasino🎲 Discussion thread on: February 27, 2023, 02:59:55 PM
Looks a lot like Betfury, it just needs a wallet to connect which is the difference. Obviously, by its domain alone people would think this is just for Solana users but then we can see different tokens are accepted in this casino. It doesn't even need to have an "SOL" in its domain. Welcome to bitcointalk though.  Do you also have giveaways?
2034  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There is no way to know unless I ask on: February 26, 2023, 07:37:24 PM

Yes. You can be assured that BTC is seizure-proof. That's insurance if you consider it.

But officially like an org like FDIC for BTC insurance, I'm not sure if there is. There was one discussion that I came across that a DEI platform offers something like insurance where users can deposit their BTC and they get wBTC or rBTC. It's not sore of insurance but you can take back your BTC whenever you want to exchange it again.
2035  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How can we make Bitcoin simpler? on: February 26, 2023, 06:37:19 PM

Anyone who could read and learns how to use a mobile phone can also learn how to use BTC wallet. It's not rocket science. The majority of the population has phones, and each person in India even has two phones. They don't have to buy a hardware wallet for they can already use thier phones with an app wallet.

I didn't make it complicated for my sister to learn to use BTC. Only receiving and sending BTC using the app wallet was enough for her. But of course I remind not to share the Priv key.
2036  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BAT profit through Brave ads on: February 26, 2023, 06:05:24 PM
I also installed it a few months ago, but I didn't keep it. It's a decent browser, but Chrome is the way to go for me. It offers synchronizations and password integrations that I simply cannot give up for a few pennies. Also, I was barely receiving any advertisements; my location could potentially be at fault, thus, I wasn't earning anything worthwhile to make me switch browsers. As you've also mentioned, you've only earned $25 in over two years; it's better than nothing, but still, it's personally not worth it. On top of that, in order to withdraw, you need an Uphold or Gemini account, both of which require you to go through KYC, which I'm not willing to complete.

Was also thinking the same when I tried installing it years ago. And it asked me to submit KYC document when I haven't even earned something yet. I don't think it will make me anonymous because of the KYC they ask for. I'm not sure if it was the exchange or the Brave itself that ask KYC but definitely, they asked for it. I uninstalled it.

But having 82,000 BAT already ready to sell when the price touches ATH, I might actually submit documents including the DNA  Cheesy
2037  Economy / Economics / Re: Cash is not trash on: February 26, 2023, 05:29:41 PM
Hi @YoSHIE , many new crypto fan boys believed that stable coins are better than Fiat money, I have read this many times online and people in my country that are new to crypto also believe the same.

It's because the stablecoin is also here to stay while also the government is trying to digitize everything governments are also launching CBDC. Of course, cash is still here and will still be useful.

Every country today has an economic crisis. We still don't know though where our governments will decide what to do either to ban cash or crypto, best option, however, is just to keep the cash. The advantage is still in cash but keeping BTC is safer.
2038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does this help you win when you're gambling? on: February 26, 2023, 05:15:35 PM
If it was me being asked what my secret is, I would be very alarmed. It's not usual and I thought 7 out of 10 would freak out after hearing the question lol

I would believe it helps if you think about winning if you think you are going to win while playing. It's a sure thing of gaining perspective. It's like you wish to get well when you are sick. The fun is just part of it.
2039  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: February 25, 2023, 06:00:12 PM
Jon Jones has always had respect for Daniel Cormier. A lot of times in the past Danielle Cormier has not been respected just because of his physicality. The fat percentage of his body is a little on the high side. And of course, he had a great rivalry with John Jones. But I think we all know that both of them had good respect for each other.

I know it is going to sound crazy and not relatable for a lot of people, and I also do not feel great to compare them with two greats, but I feel like this rivalry is basically like the rivalry between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier. Because at the end of the day, they all stayed professional and got people watching their fights and also had respect for each other when it was all over.

What is wrong with Jordan Leavitt? I have him as my main bet. He always is the underdog but always seems to win. He does not take many risks and he is a calculated striker and a better wrestler. I think the odds 1.90 are very good against Victor Martinez who is nothing special in the ufc.

Jon Jones said that he wants Daniel Cornier to commentate on his return which is nice to see because they had a fierce rivalry. I am excited for Jon Jones return and is 1 of the reasons I started watched the ufc again.

Jones is the greatest in his MMA skills and Cormier can fight well and at the same time can talk graciously in his defeat which I think is one of his major skills making him a respected person.

We find the reactions of Rogan and Cormier funny every time there is a jaw-dropping KO and thier eyes almost come out of their heads. I think this is what Jones is looking for. But definitely, no one is better qualified in talking while the fight is going on than one MMA hall of Famer.

Our Condolence.
If your whole family supports you with what you are doing while you are yet not successful, you are lucky. You only need your father, one person in life that believes in you and it could already alter the future. But I'm guessing your father must have learned something about BTC in that podcast and he has visions for the future. So many people wanted to be in your shoes where they wanna feel someone is behind them all the time that never gives up.
