20301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS STILL FAMOUS on: May 24, 2016, 06:55:27 AM
We cannot say that bitcoin is too famous at this stage as people around me are not aware about it and I am sure same will be the scenario at many places.
Agree with that, not famous as we predict, and bitcoin also still strange for some people in my country, and if i calculate, might just 2 or 3% people in my country that use and hold bitcoin, but there was good news for us because some celebrity start use and accept bitcoin.

yeah, i would have expected a lot more popularity for bitcoin by now but it seems like it is not yet living up to the expectation.
although i have to say that there were some good news about bitcoin that i think will increase the fame over time like OpenBazzar and steam.
20302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptsy has now been dissolved on: May 24, 2016, 06:51:31 AM
lol, what did you expect? they should have been closed a long time ago when they scammed people of their money. the only reason why the website was up was most probably because they have already paid for the hosting service and they were waiting for it to run out!
20303  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CCCB: Coinbase is close to Bankruptcy on: May 24, 2016, 06:22:56 AM
Been seeing enough reports recently to suggest they are in major

trouble,

i have never used coinbase before because of their stupid rules and Terms of services. but i doubt that they are in any trouble.

can you give any link to these "reports"?
20304  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A teen is given $1K to invest into Bitcoin - what would you recommend for them? on: May 23, 2016, 04:32:08 AM
Let's say a young teenager is given some coming-of-age money from their family, and is interested in growing that money through Bitcoin. Without encouraging him/her to invest in risky strategies, what are some lower risk methods of growing a Bitcoin portfolio with a hypothetical gift of $1K?
looking for partner, its best option, make a project with your partner, and invest some money on it. or looking for trader and give them funds for trading, share profit you get.

you obviously never had a partner and/or never have been ripped off by your partner Smiley
looking for partner is good but as long as you have enough experience and don't trust your partner 100% ever. especially as a teenager who is "given" a lot of money.
20305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin halving on: May 23, 2016, 04:25:08 AM
There are rumors of the Bitcoin halving going to come in to play soon again. I want to know when it id going to happen, does any one have any idea of it comes around. I like the price to go down so I can buy some coins again.
you can see the countdown here dude http://www.bitcoinblockhalf.com/ I thought before that time expires make sure you've collected a lot of bitcoin and prepares to sell bitcoin prices. halving the closer so better to buy bitcoin now

now is the best time to buy bitcoin than ever. the price has been taking a hit and going down in the last two days and nobody knows when it is going to stop being at this lever and be reversed. so this can be a good dip to buy bitcoin before the halving and the big rise that comes with it.
20306  Economy / Speculation / Re: That's it, $440 was the bottom. on: May 23, 2016, 04:14:47 AM
It coming closer now to that. Last I looked it dropped $2. I think for the weekend perhaps. Lets hope it is that  Undecided
So it is $437  Cry
Bitfinex dropped even to $435.1 and I believe it will go even lower than that in the coming 24 hours.

Chinese exchanges however refuse to follow the downside road as they are like $7 to $8 higher than all other exchanges.
Imdidn't see it go to $435 as bitfinex is not a proper way to watch the price. I trust in bitstamp price to be a standard across all boards to go by.

Bitfinex is the top exchange that the majority of the people look at.

Bitstamp has lost a lot traders and interest from people as it is falling behind without stopping.

Just FYI, even Bitstamp touched $435 today.
So you are saying that I should be following the price that bitfinex is giving to sell my bitcoins for?

there will always be some differences between the price of bitcoin in different exchangers, you should choose an exchanger based on other things for example if they are legit or have good trade volume also based on their deposit and withdrawal methods for fiat.
20307  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the price go up or down over the next year? on: May 23, 2016, 04:03:51 AM
Does anyone have a prediction on the price of a bitcoin over the next 1 year, 5 years, 10 years?  How low can it go and how high can it go?

my prediction is that over the long term (1 year and so on) there will be more and more adoption so the price of bitcoin will obviously go up when you compare it with this year's price unless there is a bubble which then you'll have to look at the price before the bubble.
20308  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Receive address query on: May 23, 2016, 03:49:09 AM
Thanks for the advice, I'll see during the week if I get a refund, I may not seek one, the service I purchased is intermittent.

It's not an HYIP, I had to look that up as I had no idea what such a thing is.

Speaking of dodgy investments, I got a Nigerian e-mail last week, first one since like 2001. Who knew that's still a thing.

Thanks again.

people say it is HYIP because what you described is how those schemes work. you pay an amount and wait an interval like a week or 48 hours even and hope they pay you back your investment + profit. and of course this way of investment is super risky because they will all scam you and run away and a very small percentage will pay if you are lucky before they run away.
20309  Other / Archival / Re: Have you ever make a donation with bitcoin? on: May 23, 2016, 03:40:19 AM
yes i did make donations, i have donated to Electrum a couple of times i have also donated to other projects small amounts nothing too big. and also i have done some giveaways on reddit mostly in form of DogeCoin.
20310  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people use so many Bitcoin wallets? on: May 23, 2016, 03:28:32 AM
Just wondering why people use so many Bitcoin wallets.
in majority people use many bitcoin wallet is to compare features, fee and other offers between bitcoin wallet. Who can make users more comfortable with it. But a litle users of bitcoin make so many bitcoin wallet maybe it will be use for spammer or other reason. I can't to more think about it.

the fees are only being determined by the bitcoin network based on the size of your transaction and some other factors and the wallet doesn't have anything to do with the fees.
20311  Other / Archival / Re: Do you use bitcoin as currency or investment? on: May 23, 2016, 03:19:18 AM
A lot of us are using it as a currency when paying for stuff.
And almost everyone uses it as an Investement (If not, you souldnt keep your money in bitcoins).

Majority of people are treating it in the both ways as they know if they invest in it at present then it can be the best investment for future.
For now I would say a lot of Bitcoin users fall into one of the two camps, there are some users that both use Bitcoin as a currency and investment, but a majority of them have their Bitcoin either being moved or they're holding their Bitcoin for right now.

I personally am holding a large majority of my Bitcoin now, and chances are I won't be spending it in the near future.

People are holding and not spending only because they think its an best investment for future and that is the reason they are not spending it.

one of the biggest reason why people don't spend their bitcoins is that apart from the investment part and the rising price there is not enough places to spend their bitcoins and in some cases in some countries there is not even one place.
20312  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Exchange best for you on: May 21, 2016, 04:27:50 AM
My favourite is Poloniex.
This might sound funny but I also really like yobit's layout and design, it all seems to so... natural. Their support and everything else sucks though.

My least favourite is Bittrex, they might be reputable and "safe" but I hate their layout with a passion, I will never get used to it.

I dont know, about them since they are fairly new.

I really question about their current volume, and they also have this "lending" section which makes me curious if they are using the depositers btc?

The fact that this is a possible scenario I`ll stick with coinbase.

which one of the three exchangers are you talking about?
poloniex and bittrex are old exchangers that are trusted although i switched to bittrex fully a long time ago. and only polo has lending section which is not a bad thing either.
yobit is the new one which is not good at all, not so good design, most of the wallets are dead or maintenance for a long time and to top that all they have a terrible support.
20313  Other / Off-topic / Re: du you spend coins on real life. on: May 21, 2016, 04:16:37 AM
Satoshi Nakamoto's Whitepaper states that Bitcoin is an INTERNET currency.

Using it "in real life" means using it on the Internet.

Even sending some BTC to a friend is "Using BTC in Real Life," and it supports the network & the coin.

It is widely used & traded in North America, (US, Canada-- not sure about Mexico), Europe, Asia, Africa & Australia.

I've heard Starbucks accepts BTC in store & even gives a 20% discount, but I haven't found one yet.

Edit 1:  Hong Kong: https://www.bitcoinhk.org/2015-pay-at-starbucks-with-bitcoin/

Edit 2: https://coffee.foldapp.com/  <----  Never seen before, not recommending. "Foldapp Allows Customers To Pay For Starbucks Purchases with BITCOIN & Get 20% Discount" with plans to add Whole Foods & Target.

if i am not mistaken the correct term that was used about bitcoin was p2p cash not internet currency.

and for the usages offline there are shops that accept bitcoin like coffee shops like OP said and i also have seen 1 or 2 also i have seen recently a guy on reddit who had a food truck and was accepting bitcoin as payment.
20314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Storing of Bitcoins is against Bitcoin. on: May 21, 2016, 04:06:42 AM
I don't think so. I personally think that storing bitcoin is a way to strengthen the value of bitcoin because no one is willing to lose the things that he or she considers valuable. No one is exchanging gold or jewels out there to buy merchandises because they think such things really are worth and their lack of availability is something that provide them more value.

You are right without any doubts, I also think that storing the bitcoin is not against the bitcoin and that its also good to store it on this time because the fact is that the halving is coming.

Of course storing is not against it and the funny thing is that some people cannot even spent them to be honest.
I think holding is also good and indeed with the coming even its even better to hold them...

yeah, but the thing is that you should change this mentality about bitcoin that says bitcoin is just an investment which will make us rich if we hold it.
because bitcoin is also a currency and if people are not willing to "spend" it then it will never rise and will never make us rich in the first place so that dream is just a dream.
20315  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Bitcoin? on: May 21, 2016, 03:59:18 AM
Gambling and bitcoin are good combination. the payment of bitcoin from gambling is simple
and deposit or withdrawal no need a long time.

This is true and because of this its very nice to gamble with the bitcoin, you can also see that its really coming up, there are more gamblers joining the bitcoin everyday just to gamble with it.
Majority of users of bitcoin I guess are those from the gambling industry, although they just gamble a small amount of money due to trust issue with the online gambling sites but considering their volume would already total to huge amount of BTC.

the total amount of bitcoin that people gamble on these gambling sites is already huge, you can check some of their stats and big rollers to see this.
also the reason that people bet small amounts is not because of trust it is because of the nature of gambling and people not wanting to lose their money all of a sudden.
20316  Economy / Gambling / Re: Thanks playbitstarz.com on: May 21, 2016, 03:54:02 AM
wow, congratulation on your win, that is a lot of money you have won in gambling you are lucky. also since i have never even heard of that site you played at i am glad that you have withdrawn your amount already because it is risky in unknown sites.
20317  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much will it go down? on: May 21, 2016, 03:51:30 AM
I'm back in at $440, and will buy more if it goes down again, but I think $435 is probably the low. Once this ETH and DAO scamshit crashes btc will start it's pump is my guess.

i totally agree, this ETH scam has had an effect on bitcoin price before too. last time was the last bubble and this time as soon as dao hype settles down and eth price starts going down again, all the money will come back to bitcoin once more.
20318  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price falling?? on: May 21, 2016, 03:47:38 AM
this is just a chain reaction of continued dumps to push the price down and it has been successful only for a short time and a small amount i expect reversal soon.
20319  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How earn Bitcoins fast and free?? on: May 21, 2016, 03:45:25 AM
To earn fast, play gambling Grin

Tsk! That's not the best thing to do if you are suggesting people to gamble. You will not earn fast and free with gambling. You need to have a capital with playing with it.
If you dont appreciate my post just ignore it. Thank you Undecided

I guess Jezreel is right, I know there are people that who are really lucky with gambling that's why they are risking their money to it because
they have already experience the fast return of money and income to it.
do not really have to expect luck with gambling. but a good strategy is very important. so they could taste victory
Yes of course strategy is very important to win. Cheesy

that doesn't sound right at all! gambling is just game of luck and you need luck to win, all these strategies are just ways that gamblers use to fool themselves into thinking they can win.
20320  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which Investment Type do you Prefer??? on: May 21, 2016, 03:30:44 AM
There are so many investment program existing out there and i want to here the pulse of the people where they would prefer to invest and why. so other people here may knew that they can earn in different forms and different ways in online world.

Types of investments

1. Gambling - Chances to earn big in just an hour
2. Tradings - Need proper learnings and monitoring tp avoid lose.
3. Hyips - Ponzi Scheme And risky
4. Crownfunding - earn by gh and ph.

Which do you prefered investment above do you see  you can earn and why.

1) gambling is not an investment and the fact that you put it here as your first item shows you don't know anything about investments.
2) this is my favorite, it may not be the best way but i like doing it
3) the worst way, and again this is not an investment either.
4) this can be good on a case by case basis.
