2041  Economy / Speculation / Re: Expect the price to go lower on: August 03, 2011, 03:39:22 AM
I was too happy today because I got my first bitcoins  and now reading this thread you make me get worried  Sad
Don't listen to them lol... If you sell you play into their games and THEY WIN.  Grin
2042  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low can we go? on: August 03, 2011, 03:29:39 AM
Why would they? They will continue to put their orders in, and if miners continue to sell at outrageously low prices, traders will continue to buy. If all the miners secretly got together tomorrow and halted selling for 2 weeks the price would double. However this is a small market, and when you have thousands of people trying to make back thousands of dollars in equipment things will get ugly fast. The market is being flooded by cheap coins because of the new miners that have come into the game. Anyone who bought in with equipment should seriously consider holding on to their coins for at-least a couple of months, cause selling now doesn't help anyone including themselves...

I think the biggest problem is that you have a bunch of finance people literally praying on a bunch of nerds (I include myself thank you). They know how to manipulate this small market, and seriously work us to their advantage. The money that we trade on a daily basis is JOKE money to these people. You think your $10,000 is hot stuff? These people have millions... And they can easily manipulate us into making stupid decisions and giving up our Bitcoins for prices that are simply unacceptable! Just because your fiat reality has you under the ropes doesn't mean your Bitcoin reality needs to look the same way...

We are a community of IT professionals, and IT people are known for knowing "everything". It's time for everyone to start picking up some day trading books, and learn how trading markets work. I don't mean that in any detrimental way, but the facts are true. These *firms* are running huge games on us, and everyone seems to be following them like lost puppy's...
cool story bro  Cheesy
Anyone telling anybody anything less is LYING.

If you're a miner STOP SELLING YOUR COINS, they are more valuable than you think. Hold them or if you need to buy stuff buy it in Bitcoins. There is literally enough stores now where you can find almost anything you need in BITCOINS https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Trade.

Keep the money in the Bitcoin economy till at-least prices stabilize.
2043  Economy / Speculation / Re: Aaaaaand bitcoin takes off! on: August 03, 2011, 03:21:51 AM
Interesting definition of 'taking off'.  Looks more like losing altitude and the ground proximity warning klaxon is sounding.

I wish I got a bitcoin for everytime somebody made a failed rally prediction in the past month.
Why? Judging by all your posts they seem to be worthless to you lol.
2044  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Technical Analysis on: August 03, 2011, 03:00:16 AM
Do you think maybe the trench right now is because there were some successful heists and Mt Gox still has cheap trading? Just sayin' I say BTC will rally within a week back to the 10 EU price.

If you think that, then I hope you're buying right now.  But, also, if you think that, then, in advance, my sympathy to you.  IMO we're circling a very large toilet bowl.  I'm just hanging around for the show at this point.
Yeah right... The minute you see some obvious movement you'll be right back in Smiley. No matter how many hacks, no matter how many attacks, no matter how many things happen to THIRD PARTY VENDORS, Bitcoin cannot die.
2045  Economy / Economics / Re: What the hell on: August 03, 2011, 02:56:05 AM
Well I made this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=33886.0 to hopefully remedy some of the insanity. I truly hope the people who stole the Bitcoins get whats coming to them... Karma is a bitch in this life and the next. And no matter how you slice it what they did was STEALING and nothing more.
2046  Economy / Speculation / Re: A lot of bad news recently for bitcoin, IMO it is going to start to hurt. on: August 03, 2011, 02:52:17 AM
User Friendliness is paramount! Even windows with its stupid security problems is still the dominant operating system WHY?! because it is user friendly!

+1,000,000!

Smartest comment in this forum in weeks!
I will be announcing a business plan soon with my upcoming wallet site BitWal.com. I think you will like what you see so stay tuned smalley Smiley.
2047  Economy / Speculation / Newbie Trading Basics 101 on: August 03, 2011, 02:45:53 AM
I am making this post in hopes of helping some newbie miners + traders alike. I think 90% of the traders in this community (which probably amount to less than 10% of the population) probably know all of the recommendations in this post by heart, and maybe they will bitch and moan about some of the responses. But who cares screw them! This is primarily for the techies who don't know squat about trading.  We are all here to learn, and this seems to be the area with the most trading newbs on the forum. I will start with 1 recommendation and anyone can input anything they like after. The more confidence people have with their trading abilities, the more stable Bitcoin prices will become...

Newbie Tip 1: Do not put out ridiculous sell orders.

Don't buy at 13 and then put those 13 right back on the market for $20... It dosen't work like that, and if it did we would all be rich by now! The more Bitcoins that are in the exchange markets, the LOWER THE PRICE WILL BE. So basically you are hurting yourself by doing what I just mentioned above, and I see alot of ridiculous sell orders out there proving my theory... Get rid of your SELL ORDERS unless you actually INTEND on selling!

There's my tip ! Please don't be greedy guys...

Quick Note: I am one of the trading newbs here. I have never traded in my life before Bitcoins so it is an exciting and new thing for me, and I am not ashamed/afraid to say so. Learning isn't free, and people should really try to understand that before they get into something like this... And in the recent hostile environment in this community it's hard to ask ANY questions without getting ridiculed for three pages. This is your safe haven.

Nah, gold also needs energy to be traded. I can hold a bunch of BTC in a flash drivenfor years, without spending any energy, until I decide to trade them or use them. Same thing with gold. Once you want to trade or use it, there's energy involved in determining its purity, selling it, buying it, melting it and so on.
When did I say anything about trading?  If you want to compare the "energy" it takes to trade gold in comparison to Bitcoin, gold could be exchanged just as easily. That's why there's something called E-GOLD...

However, you're missing my point, if the blockchain goes bye-bye all your bitcoins automatically become worthless. Sure you can store Bitcoins with the latest blockchain, but they would be rendered useless in a network attack that took us back 2009... The block chain could go bye bye under many different scenarios, and having Bitcoins not on this planet could render those scenarios impossible.
2049  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low can we go? on: August 03, 2011, 02:13:59 AM
Better not freaking go any lower

Why don't people push the price up?? My goodness

2050  Economy / Economics / Re: A Visualization of US Debt on: August 03, 2011, 01:59:43 AM

USA liberalism is not real liberalism. The word got highjacked.

+1. They're only "liberal" to the extent that they're willing to spend other peoples' money.
Lol...
2051  Economy / Economics / Re: A Visualization of US Debt on: August 03, 2011, 01:58:56 AM
and let's visualize some of the spending that got us there

The Obama side has no credibility, they are projections. Its based on some projections on what will do on the future, and they assume their stimulus plan works and the crisis is over so he will start reducing the size of government in the future. It wont happen. Obama is going to be as bad as Bush, if not worse.
I never get why people are so pessimistic  Huh .
2052  Economy / Speculation / Re: CRASH! on: August 03, 2011, 01:51:53 AM
$/BTC is looking like DJI.

Which is what confuses me. I would think BTC would seem like an asset to hold like gold in times when the dollar/euro and global stock exchanges are shaky. There are so few big players in the BTC game I guess it behaves a little differently.
Gold doesn't need electricity. BTC is a bi-product of our current Internet reality. If we could figure out a way to run the block-chain without the need of a domestic power source, Bitcoins would double in price tomorrow Smiley. Which is why I purpose everyone donating BTC into a big pot, we get investors & established company's on board. And we blast the block-chain into space using a self sufficient satellite that runs off the sun. That would make bitcoins virtually indestructible to the point where it would take a missile to disrupt the blockchain.
Gold needs energy to survive.  It takes energy to mine it.  It takes energy to refine it.  It takes energy to transport it.  Even if all the gold was mined, refined, and transported just sitting there, you still need energy to trade it, whether electonically or physically.
Gold needs energy to be excavated from the ground but needs 0 energy to be stored. However to hold Bitcoins you need ENERGY. With no energy the block-chain can't work, thus making your Bitcoins worthless.
2053  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MyBitcoin on: August 02, 2011, 10:02:58 PM
WOW Gold is owned by Blizzard entertainment.  If you're trying to sell THEIR property, they have a problem.  Bitcoin is not owned by a company and is not subject to the same copyright terms that WOW gold falls under.

Don't be mistaken to think that something needs to be copyrighted to constitute theft.
Appreciate you for your efforts. Don't give in to any of these people, your doing the right thing.
2054  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is Bitcoin tanking this afternoon? on: August 02, 2011, 09:32:13 PM
I hope they catch these thieves... If Bitcoin really isn't "anonymous" can someone please PROVE IT! Please, while I am sure this will hurt the hackers crowd, this will fuel investments and give people some CONFIDENCE. Which is all the market requires...

Doesn't this silly idea defeat the purpose of the decentralized part of Bitcoin?
You could hypothetically shoot thousands of satellites into space thus keeping it "decentralized". But the current reality still exists, the biggest centralization to Bitcoins is the energy it takes to power the blockchain itself. And until we can figure out a way for cold fusion to work (free energy), humanity will seek to control, distribute, and regulate this energy thus keeping Bitcoins in a forever incubated state.

EDIT: Or the government can just come out and say that this system is better and wants to see global adoption. That would sort of have the same effect, but for now we have the crazy idea of shooting the satellites up into space, and there are many smart/rich people who CAN make this happen... I know my idea sounds radical but it's the only way we can guarantee that no man can disrupt the blockchain, making the "coins" we hold today, TRUE GOLD...
