2041  Economy / Services / Re: Buying signature space for PMtoCoins.com [Already bought 12] Read OP for rules on: February 16, 2014, 06:55:39 AM
I PM'd you about hosting your link in my signature space but had not heard back from you.  I am interested if you feel I qualify.
Thanks

I know I'm not in this, but as a heads-up to the OP, any mobile users, including me, will probably not be able to see your signature at all if it is located after another one. At least not me. I would not recommend letting people with another sig in.

Thanks for letting me know about that, I will be careful Smiley
2042  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Introduction to DualMiner USB (could mine both BTC and LTC) on: February 16, 2014, 06:34:18 AM
Is this good or bad?
It's a lot of info but I am not sure what to make of it.

This post is not meant as a diss toward Dual Miner, but wanted to share something nonetheless.

2043  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Introduction to DualMiner USB (could mine both BTC and LTC) on: February 16, 2014, 06:04:03 AM
Excellent!
I think nwools and LukeJr are working on it now.  I hope it will not be long.
Thanks for answering my questions I really appreciate it.

Are you also opening it up a bit so other mining software like BFGMiner and MultiMiner can run these?
I am really liking my DualMiner it is just a pain to run separate mining software programs for them.

The firmware on the device is not upgradable. We don't need upgrade it actually. The firmware just convert USB to serial. Start from next version, our Windows GUI app will be upgradable. About PC Linux or ARM linux, since we will open the source code, users can upgrade to new version source code. To do a Linux upgrade, the user need have some experience on Linux.

Yes, BFGMiner and MultiMiner can run dualminer devices if the code merged into them.

2047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bter Points BTR? What to do with them?? on: February 16, 2014, 04:08:42 AM
It does seem to be that way.
So it looks like before any withdrawal you need to trade them and take the loss because if you don't you lose them all and get nothing.

They are the same ploy as Cryptsy points, worthless until you sell them, when you do they make your balance suffer.
2048  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Introduction to DualMiner USB (could mine both BTC and LTC) on: February 16, 2014, 04:01:03 AM
That is cool  I will have to think about that before I do it.
Are these firmware upgrade-able as well for future improvements based on newer firmware?

Hi dualminer_3 is there going to be any firmware update for these to get a bit more performance out of them??
They run great but there seems to be room for improvement in the firmware.

@minorminer,
We will create a open source project on github for our software. Pi should work. We haven't test pi board yet. As long as we have solid result on beaglebone black. We will start work on pi if there are issues on it.

Change the command line param --dualminer-pll will give you little more hash. In ltc only mode, the default value is 800M. Change it to 850 or 900 will increase the performance. However, only some chips can work on 900Mhz. This variety is mainly because the manufacturing process.

NOTE: change this parameter to higher value may cause high temp and damage the device. This kind of damage is NOT cover by warranty
2049  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Hacking a BFL Jalapeno to 32GH and beyond....(???) on: February 16, 2014, 03:05:09 AM
A couple weeks ago I woke up to my Jalapeno dead.

Lightfoot had me send it to him and was able to quickly diagnose a power supply issue which was great.

It only ran at 5 gh/s and he was able to flash it and get it running faster which was great as I did not have the gear to flash it's firmware.
From there it was time to upgrade it while he had it.

I was able to order chips from his recommendation and had them drop shipped right to Lightfoot.
I could only afford 3 ships and it took me a few days to be able to afford them.  Not because they were expensive as they are fairly inexpensive but due to me being broke. Once he got them he had it up to 20gh/s in no time with them.  He added heatsinks and a fan grill making sure it was running cool and safe.

The whole time he kept in great communication with me and even waited on being paid while I came up with the BTC for the work.  He even sent it back to me before I had paid.  Just a great guy I really appreciate that.
The whole process was excellent.  He had it done quickly and the only hold up was me getting the chips sent.

So now I have it at home and it is running great.
20 gh/s stable at 50c degrees with no hiccups.  It went from a good unit to a great unit and looks cool to boot.

Thanks so much Lightfoot for doing the upgrade for me and being so easy to work with and trust.

2052  Economy / Goods / Re: Car for Bitcoin trade on: February 16, 2014, 01:32:53 AM
Ah that is cool.
I always thought that BMW's were always expensive.
I have a 1987 Camaro with a 350 Small Block in it and T-Tops that I just got offered $6800 for and for some reason I figured the BMW would be worth more.
I appreciate the info as I do not have any experience with the BMW's.

Why is a BMW only $1400??
Is it super high miles?
Can you post some pictures please.

Old bimmers aren't very expensive. Especially ones with high miles. Rule applies to any car really, even if it's a luxury brand.

Take this one for example:

2054  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Lamassu Bitcoin ATM on: February 16, 2014, 01:06:20 AM
Also wasn't there a bunch of articles out not too long ago that the new BTC ATM's were supposed to be $1000 per unit not $5000?
It looks great but too many questions.

Please check out:

Thanks!
From the order confirmation you provided:
"If you've already payed with Bitcoin [...]" <-- I doubt that a legitimate order confirmation from Lamassu would have spelling errors like this.
2055  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Introduction to DualMiner USB (could mine both BTC and LTC) on: February 16, 2014, 12:52:28 AM
When you say you get a bit more out of them using this argument how much are you getting?
Do you put the argument in the dualminer software argument line or are you using something else?

What do you run instead of the dualminer software?
It does seem buggy to say the least.

they have a warranty. but mine run fine and have been doing so ever since I stopped running the dualminer software.

I shouldn't say I'm not running the software it's not 100% accurate. I running the cgminer 3.1.1 that is modified and in the cgminer win 32bit folder that comes with the software. I also messed around with the  "--dualminer-pll ###" frequency modifier. 800 is pretty stable and 850 gives a little more but I don't want to push these little dudes to far just yet. Of course, I don't have a clue what I'm actually doing but 850 makes a teeny bit more khs and is still stable so...whatever.

What are the little red boards in this picture?

Re-arranged some of my miners...

2059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MultiMiner Remoting & MobileMiner: Your rigs. Your coins. Your pools. Your way. on: February 15, 2014, 11:04:35 PM
Ah ok, my misread there.

When does the update hit the Play Store?

Nothing to update - there is a new Python script available for Cointerra users and the Notifications API is for software developers who use the MobileMiner API (e.g. Asteroid, MacMiner, MinePeon, etc.).
2060  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Closed - Group Buy]Dualminer USB ASIC sha/scrypt miner $85 [USA Only][Batch #2] on: February 15, 2014, 11:03:20 PM
I know what you are saying.
I don't have an answer.  The way BTC rates are going up again finally maybe another week before doing a refund will get you to the level you need to order.
MTGoX really has screwed everything up badly.

I agree.  Please keep it open until you have enough.
Mid week I will be able to afford one as well to help out the group buy.  If things go well I may even be able to do 2 of them.

I keep hearing speculations that once MtGox reopens withdrawals the price will jump. Should we wait till Tuesday ?

Demon thanks for PM on 9 paid miners. The second message that lists summary of orders now shows substantial deficit 227/300 Sad Will you be able to order even if the price gets above $700?

well i wont have enough BTC to cover the full 300. So unless prices jump over $750
I will be refunding all btc.  Cry

Couldn't you just continue the group buy until you have enough (either from more orders or higher price - or a combination?)

But okay then how would you say i get the money for the folks that have already paid?
