It's not actually secret. It was alsways stated that the first phase of the alpha would be "internal". There's so much debugging and fixing going on during this phase that it wouldn't make any sense to involve many people. Also NCC is still not entirely finished so currently mostly NIS is being tested. |

Just spotted this article about NEM http://bitcoinist.net/nem-new-economy-movement/ which contains quite a few factual errors, especially the part about the development team. Someone should tell him to read the organization tab in NEM summary. There is a nice volume from the site to our website though. NEM is getting noticed ! I contacted him. |

The tx are not made from the same sending address and with all the chinese symbols I don't know what I'm seeing on the screenshots. Could you make a transaction from the same address as the registration was made ? What are all of you doing to get banned anyway ? I will jump for joy on the day that we can move to an official NEM forum.
Seeing what kind of idiots the Quora communtiy seems to house I'm almost delighted by the NEM community. When I say NEM community I mean the people that are actively trying to engage not the ******** that only ask when the launch will be or when they can get their stakes.
If it was up to me I'd kick everyone of the list that asks a question which is either answered on the first page or on the last 2 pages before their post.
I always thought we'd need a presence at btt even after launch but seeing that btt consists of 80 % retards and 5 % trolls I don't think so anymore. The remaining 15 % will hear of NEM one way or another.

it's a disappointing experience to see that against all expectations of thread members, the price of nemstakes (AE) is steadily decreasing.
I was one of the first buyers and now I have to suffer from my greed.
Volume continues to go up. It appears it's people dumping their stakes. This was vaguely expected, considering what people reserved their stakes for, but they'll be gone a lot quicker than say a hypothetical whale who controls a large percentage of a coin and is dumping it no matter what damage it may bring. It could be a whale buying them up. Even worse would be a whale buying it up purely to sabotage the coin. Just playing devils advocate here, as overall i think the AE is a good idea. But it would be foolish to not consider all possible outcomes. Even with this said, i think the AE is a success in many ways and bodes well for the future value of this coin. Obviously that's a possiblity and I think everybody is aware of that. I do however agree that overall the listing was the right choice. I think we can also take a very important note here. High value assets on a cryptos AE can have considerable influence on the cryptos price. I guess this was obvious to others but I only now noticed now how great it can be if you manage to put some high demand assets on your AE. So beside getting merchants on board it will also be vital to convince start-ups and projects to sell their assets on the NEM AE instead of others. We'll have to think of features that set our AE apart from all the other ones. AEs are almost a commong thing now so it'll be important to create not "just another AE". |

If the price decline more. i will looking to buy another one  Ths AE thing is a great way to get rid of weak hands before the actual launch  . Im laughing at these idiots selling at this low Are they really idiots? What if NXT doubles / triples in price the coming months? That's not unthinkable. They already made a 10,000% ROI on their stake and then doubled / tripled that through Nxt. Not to shabby if you ask me. And, it gives others an opportunity to buy an extra or new stake. The ROI is actually fantastic. Put yourself in the position of people that invested in "just another alt" that have no idea about NEM. They see these prices and jump for joy. Plus NXT has gained so much value in the last days that is was to be expected that prices for NEM stakes would go down. |

No appearant reason - at least not appearant to me. I'm almost laughing at the fact that cgb has managed to loose that much value recently despite best efforts of the core team and the recent surge of BTC. It seems really weird to me. |

I can not understand why NEM stakes are sold so cheap on the asset exchange
They are sold around 20k NXT. I'd say that's pretty great for something that cost around 1k NXT a few months ago. |

fek it.. i really like brain wallets.. :/ you know the way electrum allows you to enter a seed to retrieve your wallet and then your wallet.dat password to access coins.. could you do something like this? so you end up with your seed passphrase that, i suppose downloads?, your wallet.dat from the cloud(if you have put it there) to what ever client your using, and then you can enter your wallet.dat password or something... giving the portability of a brainwallet but also the security of being able to create wallets offline like bitcoin? best of both worlds! could this be done? 1. client creates wallet file. (now usable only on currwent computer system same as any other bitcoin wallet.dat file) 2. if you want brainwallet protablility, you create + save a passphrase, encrypt wallet file using passphrase as the key, tag it with an alias to find it easily, upload to the nem cloud(if there is/will be one) 3. to access from any other client you click find wallet, enter tag, auto-download(or run from cloud if its possible to save download time and effort) wallet, enter passphrase to decrypt wallet and wallet is now usable. security of wallet.dat(if not uploaded to cloud) and portability of brainwallet with out hardware or paper wallet. Sounds like a "normal" wallet only that you can store it in the cloud (if this a centralized cloud this is actually really not cool at all) and you have an extra "password" called seed that acts as kind of a backup key. Nothing really special about that imho. It's actually exactly how the Ripple wallet works or rather worked before they had a downloadable stand alone client. I haven't checked that client out yet. Here's why I think brainwallets are in no way more portable than old fashioned wallets... For brainwallets to be secure you need a strong password. In this case strong means a password that you will most definitely not be able to remember which means you have to keep it somwhere. If you keep that password in a file there is no difference anymore to a wallet.dat. You have to carry around both of those files to access your funds. At least the wallet is encrypted (if you choose to do so, I think this will be standard for NEM but I'm not sure). Now people come and yell "password manager" in my face. First - I wouldn't trust some thirdparty maybe even closed source tool to hold all my passwords encrypted or not. Secondly this again takes out the portability. You have to install that darn manager everywhere and at some point you may end up on a device where that manager isn't available. |

I would like to know if there will be an "import private key" function in the NEM community client and how to create a NEM address key pair for the voucher? Is the proposal for a NEM from the initial development plan still valid and will we use "standard base32" encoded addresses? Maybe the devs can help me with my questions?

i dont think nem will be using conventional wallet.dat files, instead it will be brain wallets so in this case what you would doo, i guess, is put the passphrase of a preloaded account on the vouchers??? perhaps with a qr code that can be read to input the passphrase into the client on a smart phone... devs would be ones to talk to though... from what i know i think that may be the only way to go about doing such a thing. if you do this come launch of nem,message me, then il send you a list of passphrases(or how ever you go about doing it), pay for the printing + postage plus a little extra and il pre-load the ones you send me and distribute a few (hundred) myself. you will need to put info on them and say somewhere that they are like digital gold and info/links to websites ect. great idea and initiative! NEM will NOT use brainwallets. |
