"If you happen to break even, there is no harm done. While if you win, that also is not that a big deal. It's fear of losing that will make you a gambler."

I have no idea who said this and if it's even a famous quote or proverb, but it's been stuck in my mind ever since I read it somewhere.
2042  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲 StarBets.io 🎲 || A Crypto-based iGaming Platform 🎲 on: November 04, 2022, 06:43:43 PM
I think the ideal would be if they run a signature campaign with not very high payouts and with a number of 20 members and then they could make promotions here in the forum and give away gifts, with that the participants of the signature campaign  would be keeping this thread active and would also participate in the contests thread which would make the contest thread active and attract more members, if OP gets a good manager and give him good advice on this marketing issue here on the forum I think he may have more customers and his thread is very active, of course the issue of marketing funds must be well thought out

I agree that casino should find ways to encourage discussion in their thread, like other online gambling sites do, but I'm not so sure about the signature campaign. Signature campaigns are good promotional tools because they help get casinos's names out there and increase exposure on forums, but I don't think they're the best way to foster discussion. For the community to be engaged, they should offer bonuses, free spins or other prizes to people who have reviewed their platform or make suggestions on the forum. In this case, it would be giving people an incentive to promote the casino's platform as well as discussion about it. It's a win-win situation for both parties.

I'm not sure what their budget is and how much they can invest in this type of promotion, but to begin with, maybe they should hire a community manager who has experience and understands both the Bitcointalk forum and the online gambling business. The community manager can then help them making StarBets.io a more active and engaging brand on Bitcointalk. The person would need to come up with ideas that encourage people to discuss their platform and its features in detail, and make sure these discussions are visible on the forum.

It's clear that the StarBets representative is inexperienced, or doesn't care enough to learn how Bitcointalk works and what it takes to be successful here.

Ultimately it is your choice as to which operating system you decide to use. We all have our own preferences and should feel comfortable using the option we choose. While it's impossible to know whether the Windows or Linux OS offers better security, most experts agree that both are secure enough for most purposes. This is especially true if you use common sense when browsing the web and downloading files. But, it's important to remember that security is more than just operating systems. Running a firewall, using a VPN, and running anti-virus software aren't just for crypto users: they're essential tools for anyone with a computer, no matter what operating system you use. In addition, the security of any system is only as good as its weakest link. If you're using an OS that hasn't been updated in years and has tons of security holes, then it doesn't matter how secure your software is. The same applies to running outdated apps on your system: if there's a big security flaw in your browser or Java, for example, then even if you have the most secure Linux distro in the world installed on your machine, hackers can still exploit that weakness and find a way to get into your system. Therefore, it's important to keep your computer up-to-date and secure on all fronts, not just with software but also by keeping an eye on any security vulnerabilities in the operating system itself.
2044  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Zero KYC tolerance gambling platforms on: November 04, 2022, 11:53:18 AM
There are many reasons why KYC is bad, and why we should avoid it. But the biggest reason is that KYC makes it easy for governments to track your financial transactions.
We like it or not, the government are doing that. Are you not using bank? Have you not used a fiat gambling site before? Fiat gambling sites do require for KYC.

Yes, the governments are doing that. Whether we like it or not, we have to accept that. However, there is a difference between using banks and using online casinos. If I take cash from the bank and spend it on gambling, the government doesn't always have to know about it. Not all brick-and-mortar casinos require KYC, especially for small stake, casual gamblers.

KYC is destroying the spirit of online gambling. If you care about privacy, the anonymous way of life, and Satoshi's ideology, you're not going to be a fan of KYC, and you should refrain as much as possible from giving up your private information and from signing up to a KYC/AML gambling sites.
Probably we have different approach towards gambling, I gambler just for nothing too good or serious about it, I use just little amount to gamble, the reason I may consider KYC if demanded for. For gamblers that deposit high sum of money, I may advice them otherwise.

That's exactly my point. I still think that requiring a full KYC for small amounts is overkill and I think that KYC and AML laws should be relaxed when it comes to recreational gambling. It's not a major financial transaction, nor one where the risk of money laundering is particularly high. Let players and casinos alike enjoy their games in peace. I mean, maybe it's just a matter of personal opinion, but shouldn't KYC and AML laws be concerned with preventing money laundering from the beginning and the source? No one is going to try to launder ill-gotten money by depositing $100 into an online casino platform, so AML laws make no sense here. And also, it doesn't really make sense to enforce AML when someone wins some amount gambling. Perhaps this unfair policy will change in the future, though; I would certainly hope so.

Strange to see there are less traction on your ANN comparing to others but I hope the business is going well.

The site has been around since 2021, and it's clear that they've put some effort into making their website look nice and feel professional. I think StarBets has a lot of potential, but its current marketing strategy is not doing it any favors. The company needs to step up its game if it wants to compete in this industry and to stand out from other gambling platforms.

They could run some sort of contest for forum members, or they could promote their gambling platform by a review campaign. The possibilities are endless! The only question is how much budget they have to invest in marketing and how much they can invest in the various marketing channels. It's no secret that they are competing with some of the biggest names in online gambling, so they need to make sure their marketing budget is spent wisely.

Another brain dead retard rised his post count.
Idiot, did you even check the topic before you post?
If my ledger didn't die, i would had access to the original wallet and receive refund.

Calm down. You're getting too excited about this. (What's up with the insults, by the way?)
If your Ledger conveniently broke down a few hours after transferring the funds, you can always use your backup seed phrase and import the wallet into other software. You do have a backup seed phrase, right?

Of course they have intention to scam, why otherwise they will create fake chat to make me look like i am the scammer ?
Soon after i reported them, and they see the topic, they created fake chat ( it is obvious from the timing)

That doesn't make sense. Why would they do that? They offered you a refund. They had no way of knowing you didn't have access to the original wallet anymore, right?

BTW, If you really want to make a point, drop the profanity and childish name calling and start backing up your arguments.
2049  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you watching Online Gambling Streams? Short survey and discussion on: November 03, 2022, 10:39:34 PM
The research I conducted for a gambling website showed that there are three primary reasons why people like to watch gambling livestreams. That is, there is a casual fan, who likes the idea of gambling but doesn't gamble himself. There are gamblers themselves, who enjoy watching other people gamble and they want to learn strategies and tactics. Finally, there is the group of hardcore fans, which watches every stream in order to support streamers and be part of the community.

Even though some people might think that livestreams are overhyped in the gaming world and that it is a dead trend, watching other people gamble just for entertainment still has a lot of potential. Most importantly, it is unlikely that this kind of content will go out of style, as people like to watch others and learn from them. Most of these fans are learning the gambling techniques by watching streamers and then practicing it themselves on gambling sites.

The market is in a serious consolidation phase, and many people don't understand this. It's not a time to be scared, but rather a time to buy more and hold onto your coins. I bought during the bear market and will continue to buy as long as the market remains cheap. I don't know how long this bear market will last, but I do know that it's not worth trying to time it out. It's better to stay consistent and buy at good prices rather than trying to guess when things will turn around.

I can't speak for everyone, but I know many people who are scared to buy because they don't understand the Bitcoin cycles and think it's just a bubble waiting to pop. But, I'm sure that in 5-10 years the question will be: Why didn't I keep buying when it was so cheap?
2051  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The History of the Roulette Game on: November 03, 2022, 10:08:03 PM
The Roulette game has been a part of casinos all over the world for centuries. It started off as a simple task for a player to spin a wheel and depend on the law of probability. With time, the roulette game has grown and evolved into one of Las Vegas' most popular games. The game is enjoyed by many people from all walks of life because it is easy to understand while offering excitement and thrills to all who play it. It is said that Roulette is one of the easiest games to play, but I would dare argue that it can be one of the most difficult to win. The roulette has a high house edge, in European Roulette, the house edge is 2.7%; in American Roulette it's 5.26%, but it is still a very popular and fun game, and can be quite thrilling.

Are you guys living on this forum 24/7? Don't you have anything better to do?  Cheesy

Seriously, 15,000 reports a month, that's an average of 500 reports a day. How is that even possible? I'm guessing most of these are bots or people writing random stuff. But, still, that's a lot of reports. Something else must be going on here. My theory is that both of you are actually the same person. You've created two accounts and are reporting each other as much as possible.  Grin
2053  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | Sportsbook & Casino 🎲⚽ on: November 03, 2022, 07:05:04 PM
Were you informed I tried to get it fixed several times? "Just a moment".
You entered the wrong date of birth compared to the one on your ID (and you entered your name in an abbreviated form).

Moreover, I was told that you are aware of this, so I do not understand why you are here instead of spending your efforts on KYC. In fact, we don’t mind at all that you write so often, because our thread is in the top thanks to you. We look for the positive in everything 🦊

I tried to edit it but surprise, it's locked and live chat has blocked me. Fix one and I can fix the other.

For a site that voided winners, lied, admitted they were wrong and are now delaying a withdrawal, you have a right snippy attitude. Try applying that energy into helping speed things along.

They are replying regarding on your issue so maybe best to follow what they ask so that you can fasten up the process to get your withdrawal. So much better to cooperate since provably betnomi will not create any trouble which can ruin their reputation since they also have a business interest to protect.

They are lying again, I can't do anything for time being. https://imgur.com/a/QmWzmdJ Almost 5 weeks now of waiting for bets to be settled and to withdraw.

Well, as the support staff replied in one of those screenshots: "It's not their fault that you filled the wrong information in your profile." In case you didn't know, it's always advisable to read the terms of use before you agree to them so you know what your rights and responsibilities are, and you won't have to be surprised when something happens and you're not sure why.

It's not a crime to make mistakes, but it can be a pain in the butt to fix them. Perhaps you'll learn from the mistake and do better next time.
2054  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Zero KYC tolerance gambling platforms on: November 03, 2022, 06:42:05 PM
Nothing is bad about doing KYC, I always say that I like to do it to avoid future issues with casinos. [...]
Wherever you do the verification, your data is stored on that company's server. And if that server ever gets hacked, then your data will be in the hands of the hacker after which the hacker will try to take advantage of your data in every possible way.

So KYC is bad.

Try to avoid this as much as possible.

There are many reasons why KYC is bad, and why we should avoid it. But the biggest reason is that KYC makes it easy for governments to track your financial transactions. KYC asks for way too many personal details and it can easily put a target on your back. The government wants to know how much money you have, where it comes from, and what you do with it. The more data you give away, the more likely it is that someone could use this information against you. And if your information goes into a database somewhere, there's always a chance that it could get hacked, and then all of your private details would be in the wrong hands.

KYC is destroying the spirit of online gambling. If you care about privacy, the anonymous way of life, and Satoshi's ideology, you're not going to be a fan of KYC, and you should refrain as much as possible from giving up your private information and from signing up to a KYC/AML gambling sites.

Brain dead, seems like u want to receive merit from somewhere.
Now double read the thread, i have access to everything but my dead ledger you autistic fuck

It's simple. Prove your story and sign the message from one of the original addresses you used to make the transaction. If you are unable to do that, then there is no reason to believe your story over a legitimate business.

It's obvious they have no intention to scam since they have already expressed their intention to return the coins to the sender's address. Too bad you don't have access to that wallet... and that your plan backfired. Better luck next time.  Wink

I'd congratulate you if you weren't such a weirdo. You were supposed to quit, then didn't and when asked about it you avoid a straight answer and say that "you don't need attention" what does that even mean? You're making threads showing off your gambling wins, you obviously need attention. You get what you wish for, OP.
Take my advice and quit for a while because I can see that you're in too deep.

  - I think so Sir, but I'm not sure. Maybe he made this post to brag or just envy us here on this forum that OP won a lot of money gambling. Anyway, OP seems to be enjoying what he's doing so let's just let him do what he wants.

Or perhaps he is just trolling around and looking for attention (despite his claims to the contrary)? Judging by the posts he makes, I find it hard to believe anything he says.

But hopefully, he gives some tips on the right tactic to win the game he is playing.

Anyone who claims the martingale is a good strategy for winning at dice game is either an ignorant fool or a liar. If you value your money, I recommend you do not follow his advice.

IMO this would be the managers fault for not communicating to the users.

You are assuming that the manager was aware of that update on 25 October and he delays communication up to 28 October ? It would be great read some comments by OP since this is his campaign/promotion.

My opinion is that taking care of the campaign and keeping in touch with the owners is the manager's responsibility. He should know whether the campaign will continue before the new period begins. Any changes to the terms of the campaign should be announced before those changes take effect. At least, that's how respectable managers work here.

I think you forgot to mention one manager more who its really good and had managed several campaings.

@icopress https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1137579

I hope you find the correct one to manage this.

You are right, @icopress is also one of the respectable managers with experience. I forgot to include him in the list probably because I didn't find his ANN thread in the Services section.

Well so far, the evidence is clearly not in your favor. It looks like you are the scammer from my POV... Huh

Yeah, looks like this whole thing is a major clusterf***! Something was fishy about this person's story from the start. I sincerely hope that Canaan Online Shop really has a professional staff capable of handling things like this, and that they will be able to resolve this case. It's important that customer support remain professional and look at every case from all possible angles, regardless of pressures that some clients try to impose on them. In this case, I suspect that the OP is a scammer who didn't get his way and decided to try to extort money by creating this false accusation.

@Canaan Online Shop, I'm glad to see that you're taking a stand and refusing to cave in. I have been in these situations myself and know how important it is to remain calm, professional, and to not be intimidated by threats. If you are in contact with a real customer, try to get a signed message from the original address. That would be definitive proof that the scammer is lying and that it is safe to return the funds to that address.
