2041  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why there are no Stable coin gambling sites? on: May 14, 2020, 05:43:05 PM
I've also wondered why there are so few stablecoin supporting sites, literally only around a quarter of crypto gambling sites actually support stablecoins—even decentralized ones like DAI.

I'm thinking that it's to do with regulations.

After all, most crypto casinos are not licensed to offer fiat gambling services. Since some stablecoins are a proxy for fiat, you could imagine that casinos that support stablecoins like Tether or TrueUSD might also fall under the scope of the financial conduct authority (FCA) or other regulatory bodies that handle money transmission.

That said, I really wish they'd find a workaround, as I hate risking volatility to play with BTC.
2042  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING: Skill-based vs. Chance-based on: May 14, 2020, 10:42:55 AM
I don't think Blackjack is a skill-based game. I do agree with sportsbetting though, since it's definitely possible to beat the odds if you know what you're talking about.

I have always tended towards skill based games. I used to play competitive counterstrike and would bet on my own matches, and I've also played Poker professionally for over a decade now.

That said, I still play luck-based games from time to time. Mostly dice, crash and hi-lo games, but sometimes I'll also play Minesweeper on Crypto.games or the game on BetKong. I'll usually only bet small amounts on these platforms, since I'm mostly using them as a pastime, rather than looking to strike it rich.
2043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tokens Trash Can. Recycling on: May 14, 2020, 06:40:37 AM
There are already a variety of projects that do exactly this.

They basically work in the same way you describe for the most part. They will provide you with a master shitcoin instead of the bunch of shitcoins you deposit to the site.

However, these platforms actually have an alternate agenda, and are actually trying to gather up a large proportion of the circulating supply for a shitcoin, allowing them to pump and dump it more effectively.

Meanwhile, the master shitcoin they provide you in return it just as worthless, and you'll just waste your gas costs trying to get your hands on any.

Congrats to Teja767 on some impressive wins today.

You're dominating the high roller board once again.

Not quite sure what your strategy is, but whatever you're doing is working!
2045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I need your help guys! on: May 13, 2020, 10:37:23 PM
Definite scam.

Just looking at the site you can tell that it is nothing more than a ruse designed to scam the absolute bottom-feeding scum that have no idea about investments.

The about us page sheds no light on who is behind the project (anonymous project founders are a no no), similarly, the website WHOIS information is protected.

The backoffice looks like it was thrown together as part of some school project, and is probably designed to steal login credentials.

Stay away from this project, or tell your sister to stay away before she gets rekt. Or just let her throw her money away, so you can tell her you told her so when she's rekt.
2046  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: With ~90% of blocks solved by 10 pools, is Bitcoin really decentralized anymore? on: May 13, 2020, 08:35:31 PM
Each pool is comprised of tens of thousands of miners... So I'd say it's still decentralized.

Just because ten pools are used to collate their hashing power, doesn't mean that they are somehow centralized, it's just pure economics at this point. Few miners have the mining hardware capable of successfully discovering a block in reasonable time, so the only alternative is to join a pool and split the reward.

It's like comparing these mining pools to individual hardware manufacturers. Antminer, Avalon, Bitmain etc. Just because 70% of miners are using Bitmain, does that mean it's centralized? The answer is no, because each miner still has their own capacity to choose what they want to do if it ever came down to it.

Still, I would like to see more pools.
2047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Betting this June? on: May 13, 2020, 06:12:09 PM
I don't imagine there will be any major fights on any of these cards.

I'm not somebody who watches lower tier fighters (e.g. undercard fighters). I typically only watch the main event and sometimes the 1 or 2 fights before that.

Realistically, I don't know too much about the boxers that fight earlier on most cards, so I wouldn't be inclined to bet on them either way.

That, plus the fights will likely be held in an empty arena—not exactly great for watching, considering the crowd and atmosphere is part of the show.

I'll probs stay away from boxing until the events are back in full force, unless we see some big name fights.
2048  Economy / Speculation / Re: predictions and speculations on the price of bitcoin and altcoin approaching Eid on: May 13, 2020, 04:27:34 PM
Here we go again, people attributing Bitcoin's price action with random current events that likely have no impact whatsoever on the price of Bitcoin.

Tell me, why on Earth would Eid have any impact on Bitcoin's price? That's like saying Eid would alter the price of Gold, Stocks and practically any other asset... It obviously doesn't.

There's no point making a thread for every single event and asking how will it affect BTC's price....

Do you have any idea how complex the BTC markets are, it's highly unlikely that a single event can be linked with its price action.
2049  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why there are so many people who get addicted on gambling? on: May 13, 2020, 11:42:34 AM
Humans are designed to take risks and gamble, even when the odds are stacked against us.

The simple fact is we like a challenge. We're always trying to prove to ourselves, and to other people that we can do what other people to do.

For some of thus, this means we'll dedicate our lives to pursuing a talent, career or sport, while others dedicate themselves to beating the odds.

Of course, a lot of people fail to do so, but by this point, they have already developed an addiction, which means they're unable to stop even when they're deep in the shit.

Sucks, but that's life. Keep everything in moderation and you won't get rekt.
2050  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Secret Message Implanted in Bitcoin Halving Block! on: May 11, 2020, 10:51:21 PM
What is secret about this?

It's just the message encoded in the coinbase of the block, anybody who mines the block can choose what to put in the coinbase.

I would prefer if every coinbase contained a timeline of the current state of the economy, rather than just the halving block.

2051  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP Price to $14 - Any thoughts? on: May 10, 2020, 10:26:28 PM
First off, Coinspeaker is an absolute trash source for crypto news, the amount of clickbait and hyperbole in their articles is infuriating.

Also, how the hell is XRP going to spike from $0.20 to $14? At that rate, it would overtake Bitcoin in market capitalization—achieving a market cap of around $600 billion...

Does that seem even remotely likely, given that it peaked at around $3 something then crashed to nearly nothing?

XRP will be dead soon enough. The sooner the better.
2052  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Crash game more risky ? on: May 10, 2020, 08:37:27 AM
Whichever game has the highest house edge and lowest return to player rate is the most risky, it's as simple as that.

As far as I'm aware, most crash games have a house edge of somewhere in the order of 2-5%, which is definitely high than most dice games or something like Hi-Lo or even roulette.

I personally wouldn't play any game that has a house edge of 5%+ unless it has a long game session or has some other redeeming qualities—e.g. it's fun.

If you want to minimize your risk of loss, stick to a simpler game with a house edge under 1% (check my signature for an example).
2053  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Now 1 satoshi! Will the day be maybe 2000? on: May 08, 2020, 10:52:58 PM
Now this just proves Yobit is an absolutely trash exchange that will list anything...

They even listed this guy's scam token.

Stay well away people, OP is bad news.
2054  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto casinos pros and cons on: May 08, 2020, 09:44:38 PM
Privacy is by far the biggest pro in my books.

The vast majority of fiat casinos will require customers to complete identity verification before they're even allowed to play. These even goes for some in-person casinos, which scan your ID at the door.

I don't think I've seen any crypto casino (without fiat options) that requires KYC.

There's also the fact that deposits are near instant and the house edge is far lower than fiat places, since there are no payment processor fees to contend with.
2055  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: EVOLUTION OF SIGNATURE AD CAMPAIGNS (BEGINNING DAYS TO THE PRESENT) on: May 08, 2020, 07:17:25 PM
I'd love to see somebody grab the spreadsheets for all that data and produce some insights, like the following;

1. Top 10 users by number of campaigns participated in
2. Most loyal signature wearer (user that stayed with one campaign the longest)
3. Most earned by a single member through signature campaigns for each user level
4. Highest paying campaign of all time
5. Campaign by most amount of money paid out (total)
6. Signature campaign managers by number of campaigns run

Five merits for anybody who produces two or more of these insights. PM me in case I don't see it myself.
2056  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC And Chiliz ($CHZ: Binance) Announce Global Partnership on: May 08, 2020, 04:33:44 PM
https://decrypt.co/28026/chiliz-will-let-you-get-vip-experience-on-ufc-fight-island

Looks like they are also going to be giving out tickets to UFC's upcoming Fight Island show to token holders.

Just read the article and it doesn't explain what needs to be done to grab the tickets though, maybe the info hasn't been released yet.

Either way, I'm sure this partnership will achieve very little, like most sports x blockchain ventures.
2057  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⭐ Crypto.Games ⭐ 0.8% House Edge on Dice ⭐Largest Wagering contest...ever ⭐ on: May 08, 2020, 09:22:11 AM
There is now almost 4 BTC in the jackpot balance (~$40,000!)

You need to be in it to win it!
2058  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: WBC Explores Possibility Of Remote Scoring For Upcoming Fights on: May 08, 2020, 07:43:49 AM
I don't see what the big deal is, this might actually be better for the sport.

If you think about it, judges sit ring side and only see part of the action, they're completely oblivious to everything they don't see, unless the ref points it out.

With the correct camera angles, judges should be able to do a better job of scoring the fight fairly. Which might help avoid some of the robberies we've seen in the past (ahem Fury vs Wilder I)

This should be the case with every boxing match, whether remote or not tbh. Judges should use all the info available to them, not just what they can see within their limited perspective.
Its still different if judges are on the ring side rather that on having that remote scoring.Well, cameras can be put up in all angles but doesnt mean that it would give out
the same perspective compared when you are beside on the actual fight.

It seems that they cant just wait anymore and do find out solutions just to make these fights happen or resume.I dont know if majority would agree to this kind of set
up but on my part, they should wait up for this pandemic to be over and watching boxing on remote scoring isnt really that convincing for me.

In most fights (particularly fights with Tyson Fury in them), you will find that boxers will take advantage of the limited perspective of the judges.

They'll try to choke their opponent when he's in the refs blind spot, and you'll sometimes even see thumbs in the eyes and leaning on the ropes and rabbit punches when nobody can see.

Many fighters definitely try to use this blind spot to their advantage, so I don't see why it shouldn't be eliminated.

Maybe to make it fairer, they could have a single judge ringside, then three more watching remotely.

Or at least position the three judges in various angles around the ring, rather than side by side.
2059  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin popped $10 000 on: May 08, 2020, 12:12:29 AM
Looks like it didn't have the momentum to follow through in a strong way, it's back until $10k now but is still testing the resistance regularly.

I'd like to see a strong break over $10,100, then we'd probably see it spike up to around $10,800 and get rejected at $11k.

Either way, a small pump is usual before the halving, don't get greedy because a significant dump usually comes straight after (before another massive pump again).

I'll be long at $10.1 and short at $10.8.
2060  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino workers, asking for salary during the shutdown on: May 07, 2020, 10:56:27 PM
i can't really imagine that owners of all those casinos and hotels don't have enough money to pay out employees' salaries. they are just too greedy!

Why would they pay employees that are not working?

Do you think jobs are a one way relationship? Contracts are formed based on the understanding that an employee will perform a set amount of work in return for their salary.

I can understand paying them salary in advance, but they certainly shouldn't be paid for work they'll never complete. That's just crazy.

How would you feel if you were a business being forced to pay your employees to sit around and do nothing?
