20561  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: April 19, 2016, 04:50:59 AM
I think, what others already said is investing in both because if you invest in them both you can make a lot of profit.
One is for a relative short period and the other for a long period(most likely the gold one is for a long term).

so wich will you choose for short and long term..?
i think both of them is for long term, bitcoin in future have potentially reach $1000 again and of course buy bitcoin today is best choice
Long-term investments have a lower risk because I believe the future of bitcoin will be very beautiful.
bitcoin evolving future course bitcoin will have a better state than it is today.

although we can never say anything with absolute certainty but i agree that bitcoin has a good future which means more popularity, more users and all of that will lead to higher prices and that is why i always prefer bitcoin over gold.
20562  Economy / Speculation / Re: News analyzer for crypto markets on: April 19, 2016, 04:46:11 AM
Hey there!

I'm quite a newbie in the field of crypto markets. But I was really surprised not to find a tool for monitoring news background regarding Bitcoin or some altcoin. Everybody knows that crypto currencies hugely depend on rumors, news, opinions and so on.

Or am I just unaware and such tools do exist?

Thank you in advance.

Anthony

you are unaware of google.com go there and search what you need,

for bitcoin news you can check out coindesk it also has a price section with a nice chart of most of the exchangers.
for price and charts you can visit bitcoinwisdom.com
for altcoin price and charts you can visit coinmarketcap.com

p.s. the news and rumors may not be as powerful as you might think.
20563  Economy / Speculation / Re: is it time to sell? on: April 19, 2016, 04:38:06 AM
If you bought coins last summer when the price was 200$ then the answer is yes.

You made profit more than %100 and you can safely sell all.

If you bought after 400$, then don't bother. wait for 600$ at least.

Solid holders even keep holding their coins even while they have bought far below $300 last year. It requires you to have very strong hands in order to not secure profits at this point. If it's a smart thing to wait with securing profits in this case is another thing. Only time will tell.

well, if you have bought below $300 or like me at $190-$220 range, then there is no reason to sell right now. there is a long way to go from here and a lot of profit waiting. so unless you don't need the money there is no reason for selling bitcoin at this point.
20564  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how can i earn through it on: April 19, 2016, 04:28:11 AM
buy bitcoins and wait for price increase and profit? Smiley

I wonder why people always suggest this. buy bitcoin and wait for prices to rise. you must buy at least above 1 BTC and of course you will feel the profit. as well as beginners. I think not having to buy bitcoin. he could try to get to the free way. although not many, but they have to gain experience with the free way.

You don't need 1 btc to make profits you can make it even with a smaller amount if your are good in gambling, and I am sure majority of people thinks that it is risky, but gamble only if you have courage of loosing.

nothing is really good in gambling. but you can only try your luck in gambling. with a smaller amount and the better you get it from free, such as promotional giveaway at the site of gambling.

gambling is just for game and having some fun while taking a risk, it is not for making money. so just do it if you want fun, besides if you are looking for risk and you are interested in gamblign sites and everything related to them you can invest in their bankroll. it is still risky but the profit is better.
20565  Other / Off-topic / Re: Have you ever lost Bitcoin? on: April 19, 2016, 04:24:44 AM
Have you ever lost Bitcoin?

If that happened, why?   Was it your own fault,  or were you scammed?

i have only lost bitcoin in two things, first one is the small amount and it is in gambling which i lost the coins on bets.
the second one is in trading altcoins, which is not important because i have earned more that i have lost.

so i guess i can say in both of them it was my own fault.
20566  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advertising Bitcoin : responsibility of the community on: April 19, 2016, 04:20:41 AM
i don't say it is a responsibility but i have been doing it for as long as i have been in bitcoin world.
i have introduced bitcoin to many of my friends and colleagues and explained everything to them. i even have set up wallet and gave some to a couple of my friends in order to get them started and teach them how things work.
20567  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you actively spend your bitcoins? on: April 17, 2016, 08:13:22 AM
i don't know if can call my spending actively but in fact i do spend my bitcoins, and as much as i want to reduce the amount i spend these days because of the price rise i am afraid it has grown bigger but i am still glad that i can spend bitcoin instead of fiat in some cases, and i hope those cases get more and more.
20568  Economy / Speculation / Re: Anyone else think we hitting $10,000 this year? on: April 17, 2016, 08:10:19 AM
there is a huge difference between last time rises and this time and you cannot just compare rising to $1000 with rising to $10,000
the 2013 market cap was 11 bil but the market cap at 10K will be a ridiculous number which is why i doubt if we can see that this year, there is not enough demand.
this year's rise will bring it up to min $700 and max $1500 IMO
20569  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Investments on: April 17, 2016, 08:04:06 AM
Back in the OP was posted, I would have bought ether and later dumped it when it was reaching the burst point of the bubble Tongue

I have a feeling that platinum is currently extremely undervalued, and I consider it a safe bet as platinum used to be worth more than gold.

it is never late in altcoin markets, one pump and dump ends and another will start right after that. if you open the coinmarketcap.com you can see all the small charts in the right side, then you get what i mean. the money (BTC invested in altcoins) usually don't exit the market but goes in another place.
20570  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I quit trading on: April 17, 2016, 08:00:05 AM
7 btc lost is a pretty steep lesson to learn geeze
I feel sorry for the OP

yeah i've lost at least 40, due to have missed a big opportunity of profit in trading with two old altcoin

but trading is a gabmle, so there is a certain risk involved, there is no lesson to learn, it will happen again and again

The lesson to take home is to stay away from trading (unless you know a thing or two, lol). Believe me, those who earn by trading on a steady basis are those who can somehow arbitrage the system (know the thing). Even those who are exceptionally lucky to profit by simple trading (epitomized by the "buy low, sell high" mantra) are still doomed if they don't get out in time. Otherwise, as you said, it is not much different from gambling...

And I don't mean just Bitcoin

the good thing is that i have not lost directly those money, the first altcoin was a giveaway, but i didn't sold at the right time, so instead of receiving 20 btc i received only 1, i was hoping to do more, i was to greedy i admit

the second same thing, i instamined it early but i waited too long before selling, and it became worthless quickly

Losing 40 BTC is not the same as not earning 40 BTC, lol. It doesn't feel good either, but not as desperate as actually squandering the money away...

i agree, losing 40 bitcoin "in trading" is so much harder than earning it. because you don't wake up one morning seeing the price going to zero, it takes time and every trader with minimum brain function who is investing >40BTC knows to sell before it is too late so you will always lose less.
20571  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much Bitcoin to be ready for the "halving" ? on: April 17, 2016, 07:53:00 AM
What's the amount that you think everyone should have before the halving block reward ? (amount that should make you make a good profit) Tongue  Tongue

there is no "should" when it comes to this.
what you are asking is for people who are doing an investment so it means they should invest what they can afford to lose. hence making it different for each different person.
20572  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does sending Bitcoins feel good? on: April 17, 2016, 07:51:06 AM
haha, it does most of the times because i am really enjoying the easy way to handle the payments with no bullshit third man in the middle.
but sometimes it doesn't because i am a little greedy and thinking the price is going to go up as soon as i spend Wink
20573  Economy / Speculation / Re: The fake volume on the chinese exchanges. on: April 16, 2016, 04:46:28 AM
it is possible that they are faking some stuff for more publicity, or even to pump the price up, or even possible they try to pull a mt gox.

but it is also the fact that Chinese are very interested about investing in bitcoin and they have always been very enthusiastically active in crypto markets, always with high volumes.
20574  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy BTC now or wait for a lower price? on: April 16, 2016, 04:43:22 AM
bitcoin price has already gone up about 10-20 dollars from the time this topic has started.
as i have always said, right now bitcoin is cheap and this is going to change very soon and anybody who misses this chance is going to regret it.
20575  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HOW TO EARN BTC HERE IN BITCOIN.ORG on: April 16, 2016, 04:39:05 AM
For Newbie, Faucets are the best. Once you are experienced, you can join
Signature campaigns and earn more.

not at all, faucets are the worst. do you know how much dust you are gathering in your wallet. all these small inputs that you take from faucets (even if you withdraw from faucetbox late) will cause a very big transaction when you want to spend it.
so for example in order to spend 0.02BTC you have to pay 10 times the normal fee just to get normal priority.
20576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Money laundering crackdown, can bitcoin fill gap? on: April 16, 2016, 04:34:14 AM
this is just US laws about gambling which are really stupid and confusing. besides even some of the bitcoin wallets does not allow you to gamble with the money so maybe if using bitcoin debit card becomes a thing they might prohibit gambling with their service too!
20577  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcointalk is a good way to get information about Bitcoins? on: April 16, 2016, 04:26:59 AM
if you are looking for information about basics of bitcoin there is a lot of way some of them easier to get that for example reading bitcoin.org or watching a youtube video about bitcoin.

if you are looking for news, although people post the hot news here too but they will be posted on news sites, i prefer coindesk

but forum is good for communication and learning about those things you couldn't before, like wanting to hear a simplified version of the technical article you read from someone who is a pro.
20578  Economy / Speculation / Re: If bitcoin dropped to $1, what you do? on: April 16, 2016, 04:21:48 AM
this is one of those hypothetical scenarios that is never going to happen just like the topic about what if internet goes down!
but even if bitcoin goes down i will never buy ethereum, no matter what the hyping bag-holders try to say it is not a good coin.
20579  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A long time ago... on: April 15, 2016, 06:25:05 AM
although this topic may sound true and i'd be lying if i said i didn't have the same thought. yeah that would be great if the complex looking string of characters and numbers (a bitcoin address) could be shortened to something easy to see and remember BUT the reality is that in this day and age nobody is remembering anything not even simple phone numbers that is far less complected, hell i don't even remember what my phone number is; we all have technology like smart phones for these things. and the solution to topic's problem is QR codes or things like that.

also do you think this: GB29 NWBK 6016 1331 9268 19 is simple? and people like it?
no ofcourse not but you never hear anybody complaining.
this is International Bank Account Number or IBAN and it can be as long as 30 alphanumeric characters
something which we all use without thinking twice. you write it on piece of paper, in your phone, or in a .txt file and copy paste the content just like what you do with bitcoin address!
20580  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: April 15, 2016, 05:57:39 AM
Bitcoin for some people worth the risk they took, going full at bitcoin,i would consider it if had no family under me,soo its better to let bitcoin as an extra income .

if you can earning more than realjob why not..? the future of bitcoin is very greatfull, if goverment adopt bitcoin technology each people will interesting to use it and we will see new digital era.

even if you are earning more from your day job there is nothing saying you can not switch to bitcoin. you can start accepting bitcoin as payment if the business is yours or if you are receiving a salary you can ask for it in bitcoin form or even buy bitcoin as soon as you receive it.
