From suspension of withdrawals to we are sorry our exchange has been hacked  Grin.
Maybe. But all I know is that I got their email message yesterday, and another same message today again, both containing exactly what is on twitter, on the image above. Their active customers will be the one that will know much about this, but I am not one of them. I just want to make this clear because I did not get any message from them about only withdrawal suspended and not giving reason. The last email before this disappointing email was on 19th of this month which was able the launching of their new application.

I got scammed $200 steam card last year on their shitty gift cards exchange service, after uploading the back of my steam card and receipts, they used my card and told me it was invalid, i got back to steam card customer care and was told that my card was redeem by a third party site, that was my final relationship with Patricia. Nigerians, on the other hand, are stupid because I don't see why anyone would leave their valuables on such low-budget sites. I feel bad for the victims but Patricia needed to be stopped

I believe the forum needs a few dangling sets of masterpiece information providers, with an already imbibed knowledge... Cheer up, we're in the new era.
I don't know if we're in any sort of new era or that we need new 'information providers' but you mentioned Vod and Lauda, both of whom were here and very active when I registered and remained so for years afterward.  They both had a lot of controversy surrounding them pretty much at any given time, and it made for some damn interesting threads.  I'm not suggesting that bitcointalk needs to have a bunch of drama to spice things up, but what I've noticed is that a lot of the fiery personalities have disappeared, either because they died or simply abandoned the forum.

Even Quickseller and OgNasty fit into that category, but I don't see either one of them posting in sections like Meta or Reputation as was the case a few years ago.  That said, I don't think any of what I just mentioned has anything to do with the ratio of active to registered members being as low as it is (I think I've already said my piece on that in a prior post).

OgNasty posting habit on the reputation board went from 693 post to 2 posts since VOD left the forum, he only started posting few months ago. The Vod vs. Og battle was epic; Vod put everything at it, including creating a website and other shits. Was there an actual lawsuit or was it just an internet spat? lol

Like you I would also like to understand what Sandra_hakeem was trying to articulate because it is unclear. As for Vod, why did you attribute a Pokémon GO! link to him? I must seriously be missing something of significance here therefore apologise in advance.

I am glad this thread has been used to discuss a wide array of views and opinions and I look forward to reading more.

The 50 years old man went on another adventure of life with his PokoGo project - my PI says it belongs to Vod. You are welcome  Cool
2063  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Off Topic child board. on: May 26, 2023, 10:48:36 PM
Off-topic child board no go solve the issue of spam for this local board, child board fit even make am worse because some of our Nigerian users fit leave main board go base for off-topic child board they post as they like, you know say many people they erroneously see off-topic boards as a place for spam. E get some threads wey i dey see for our board wey dey too unnecessary, and e make me conclude say some people no sabi use online forum, because e get some matter wey person no suppose carry enter here. Make we leave am as e dey now, na local moderator for sure pass, if spam posts are deleted quickly, e sure me say people go stop to they make spam posts.

child boards will not fix or reduce spam, but they will help to sort out the board, which is currently congested and certain key topics are difficult to find because they haven't been categorised into child boards. Perhaps it is time to advocate for it; we have the activity required to make such a move, and we are far too populous to have a single discussion board.

If the admin sees the necessity for a moderator, we will have one.
2064  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: As a newbie how many post are you meant to post per day? on: May 26, 2023, 10:24:45 PM
The forum can be anything you want it to be, get yourself familiar with the buttons and rules, find the board suitable for you and make your grounds, if you post real good merits will locate you but don't push it, allow it to come to you naturally. AI generated posts and plagiarism are two offense that can get you banned for life. watch it

Must Read
Unofficial General Guidelines For Posting( Na de koko dem)

I think there are boards with posting restrictions for newbies. There is a particular board here were thymos himself placed restrictions on preventing newbies from posting. I head about a loan board here where newbies are also restricted from posting as well because they have no collateral or their rank does not qualify them to.

Newbies are allowed to post on the lending board, there is no newbies jail.

2065  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2022/2023 on: May 26, 2023, 10:09:25 PM
This was yet another terrible night for Chelsea and Lampard. I sometimes wonder what Lampard would be going through as he watches Chelsea stoop lower and lower in both efforts levels and performances. He must be wondering why the players cannot perform to the level he did when he played for Chelsea. The consolation goal did not mask the fact Chelsea are a shambles and they are not ready for next season.

I expect Lampard to follow in the footsteps of Gary Neville and Paul Scholes, who failed as managers and went on to become pundits for the sake of their mental health. I've never seen a manager so clueless and sentimental at the same time, and I doubt any serious club would take him seriously after what he did with Everton and Chelsea with all the resources and players. He is undoubtedly the league's worst manager. He nearly sank us to the ground in the same condition in which he left Everton.

Now that Poch has been chosen as the new manager, not official yet I am not overly optimistic, but at least he is someone who does not tolerate idleness and always expects the most from his players; he is worth the wait.

2067  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | FPL Football Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: May 26, 2023, 09:41:06 PM
It's really going to be a funny kind of rollercoaster, I can't even make any decision, I'm thinking of taking a couple points hit, but will the juice be worth the squeeze, I guess I have enough time to consider my risk assessment and just going to take the whole of the day and tomorrow making decisions on other pools rather than spend it tinkering on a FPL line up.

Congratulations to everybody that's got their position locked down, and Good luck to every other person too!

I had the worst GDW, first with Grealish playing zero minutes in the first game and missing the second due to illness from the title celebration, then with Akanji who played only 58 minutes, picked up an injury, and missed the second game, I'm still wondering how I retain my position when my only hope (Shaw) got an injury and was sub off, I thought all hope was gone so I didn't bother checking until this morning. I'm in a lot more trouble than you think; Grealish, Akanji, Willox, and Shaw are all injured, so I'm forced to take a major hit for the final dance. To be honest, I've deleted three drafts and I'm still nervous Grin

Let the best manager wins.

Any news on the weekly free bets?
I sent Betnomi a list of names but haven't received a response yet.
Thanks for the heads up.

Hell no Igeb botz... I'm not totally against what you said but I'm not also fully accepting to it.
I Feel anyone that survived in here hasn't done that by chance neither is it a coincidence - the forum doesn't change, people do.. and AFAIK, you weren't there around 2013, where growing in the forum was seen as a tough renaissance; though it actually looked simple cus they weren't affect by any factor, but could you atleast remember that LAUDA and VOD won't take any shit to their bellies, assuming they had to? Talk more of the rest of them? C'monnnn,... Even Life itself wasn't meant for everyone - that the reasons some kiddies give up - cus whatever is meant to be, will always be. I believe the forum needs a few dangling sets of masterpiece information providers, with an already imbibed knowledge... Cheer up, we're in the new era.

Sandra 🧑‍🦰

Which of the point did you agreed or disagreed to? i gave out some options... I'm lost here

To begin with, talking about 2013 is like talking about the 1930 first world cup because I'm 100% certain that neither of us watched or knew any players back then, neither of us were here in 2013, so I wouldn't want to talk about what I don't know, and we don't have many 2013 active members now.

I recall one instance where Vod had to red tagged MoparMinning due to an argument between the two on the Bitcointalk Discord; he seriously screwed up the DT. He quit the forum to focus on his pokoGO project.

Even without your wishes, this Newcastle team will not make it past the group stage of the CL unless they make some big move in the summer with some oil money. shame Manchester City, Arsenal, Man utd, and Newcastle United will be representing EPL in the CL next season it would be the weakest representation ever without Liverpool and Chelsea since we know only City will make it out of the group stage, the other three will be heading to the Europa league as usual.

What's the point in the strength (there is still a question of whether it is) of Liverpool or Chelsea if they are destroyed by the first strong team that meets them in the Champions League? If Arsenal, Newcastle or United are lucky with their opponents they could even repeat last year's run of Liverpool all the way to the final - as I remember they had a very easy path.
Of course, it’s unusual to see the Champions League without Chelsea and Liverpool, but on the other hand, I’m already tired of the same games every year (Real generally has the same opponents in the playoffs for two years in a row).

Yeah, Real Madrid vs. Chelsea/Liverpool/Man City was becoming boring knowing that any team that beats Real Madrid in Semi always win in the final, maybe we'll see a change in matches this year with some new faces from the Bundesliga, EPL, and Serie A joining the competition.

Liverpool's path to the final last year will be funny- they played Inter Milan, Benfica, and Villarreal on their way to the final. Lucky Bastards. Grin
2071  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 25, 2023, 12:59:18 PM
I think that Manchester United of this season cannot be taken as a reference team, they had a lot of up and downs but most likely they have improved in these recent times and I think a few reinforcements will do good to them. For them I hate their coach as he was responsible for making Cristiano to go away in Saudi Arabia while I believe Cristiano has enough to give more to whatever league he plays, including the Premier League.

Ronaldo caused his own exit. Don't blame it on the coach, who was only being honest with him; you don't bad-mouth your company while still under contract; the same thing got Conte sacked at Spur.

C.Ronaldo's time was up, and letting him leave the team was a better option; he is the type of player who is still hungry to win and play at the highest level; he lost his pace and was no longer contributing much to the team; he was trying to push himself, which was not really what the coach wanted.

I would strongly oppose your opinion or is it an analogy, without any other changes to this Newcastle side they'll do well to have advance past the round of 16 of this about to the concluded champions league, so unless there is general significant change to all other teams that will be present in the next season champions league, I don't believe Man United or even Newcastle at a risk of underrepresenting the EPL in the Champions league.

These were the Q/Final teams: Real Madrid, Chelsea, Benfica, Inter Milan, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, AC Milan, and Napoli. Do you think the current Newcastle squad would have stood a chance against any of these teams?

They had an amazing season, but it doesn't make them an elite team just yet; the CL isn't the Premier League, where you have many games to make up for bad ones. Looking at this Newcastle United team, we can agree that there are only 2-3 world class players in the squad, the other players had one of their best seasons and might dig next season.

I would bet that all English teams will pass the group and even Newcastle without Cristiano and without any buy in player to improve the team. The reason I believe so is that the motivation of teams like Manchester United,Arsenal and Newcastle will be at the highest level and honestly I don't know any league who is able to compete with English teams except maybe the Spanish one,so England is the strongest league in Europe and mostly also in the world and it is only natural for me to expect a full qualification of all of the teams from Premier League.

I would bet that Newcastle will not make it with their present squad; the CL isn't about a bunch of motivated youngsters it's about experience, which Newcastle lacks; apart from Trippier, who else in the club has CL experience? It would be difficult without making a significant step, believe me.

Man United and Arsenal have been struggling with Europa League teams for several years now, and I doubt either will make it but I'm not ruling them out completely.

Quote
I agree is not the same without Liverpool but still the teams will qualify out of the group stages.

I like the way you cut out the last English team to win the CL though. Chelsea

It's been a long time since I've seen somebody kicked off the DT for misusing the trust system; I've seen a profile painted red just because a DT member thought his comments was a joke.
That's (also) on you: by not excluding users who's judgement you don't trust, you're not doing what a good DT1-member should do. See dtview: at the bottom of the list are 9 DT1-members who are "kicked off" by other DT1-members. Theymos doesn't (have to) interfere here, it's up to DT1 to keep DT1 clean.

You are right.

Interesting read and I saw some surprising names being kicked out of DT- But i felt that the energy is not longer the same, other DT members seems not to care anymore sorry to say

So it is confirmed after 20 years I guess that Newcastle are in Champions League.

As an annoyed, jealous and totally bitter Liverpool fan, I hope they get grouped Wink
I hope they get the group of death and go out in the group stage.

In the pool darbit is only 0.5 points behind mitchr4. Should be a real battle to be sportsbet.io sponsored English Premier League Football Pool Champion 2022/23.

For example, if an average member who has been around the forum several years can be the victim of a vendetta where perpetrators have created threads to post the trust list of said user and then asking those that trusted the user to remove/exclude purely on the basis of flimsy or highly dubious excuses but using that as an opportunity to exact some form of revenge as the real ulterior motive, then what chance would a newbie have when faced with a similar or sustained attack?

This story sounds familiar...... Grin

My ~ is a drop in the ocean.
That's the beauty of decentralization (or democracy for that matter): the same applies to everyone else. If everyone excludes anyone who they think uses the Trust system incorrectly, the result should be a more or less acceptable average. Or we're screwed big time.

I'm sure Theymos is now rethinking his decision--decentralization in the hands of a sadist is a dreadful weapon.

It's been a long time since I've seen somebody kicked off the DT for misusing the trust system; I've seen a profile painted red just because a DT member thought his comments was a joke.
2077  Other / Meta / Re: Forum Menbership- 3.5m registered only 56k members survived?..... Why? on: May 23, 2023, 10:34:49 PM
Only members who care about the forum read the Meta, so I wasn't expecting anything close to 100 votes, especially since only 364 of the 7765 active members in the last 30 days posted on the Meta, so I'm not surprised. We only have a bunch of signature/bounty spammers who are more active than the ones who care about the forum's welfare. 34 votes is a significant number on a Meta, in my opinion.

People not visiting meta doesn't mean they don't care about the forum, there are no conversation here like other part of the board, at some point I stopped visiting meta and the reputation board but later returned to visiting. If you want to enjoy the forum visit other lively boards. We're here to learn about Bitcoin and other industry related things, those things can't be learnt on the meta board.  Also we have those that avoid this board because they feel they'll be judged wrongly of fishing for merits when they post on meta so they just focus on boards they're can comment freely without been misjudged.

Meta serves as the forum's information/notice board, where you can get forum-related updates/complaints without having to comment; most of the time, reading is better than writing. I find it strange that someone would stay a week without visiting the Meta board to see if there is an update or the latest development. I understand that just a few users read the reputation board these days because it has turned to "Is he a cheater?", "as I suspect"? Kind of like a board.

There has been a general imgur image server issue, and only those that read the Meta know how to solve it because the solution was only posted here since it is related to the forum and not a single board.

If someone is sincerely interested in anything, he will read and look into it but i understand your point

If an active member was categorised as one on the basis they last logged in 28 days ago the number would be different to say that of members signing in 90 or 180 days ago. That definition of the word active is something that does not have consensus therefore can be misleading. I would still look at that alleged 58,000 active members as debatable.

bpip.org scrapes data from accounts that logged in (whether making a post or not) in the last 30 days as 58K active members, however when you drill down to only users who made at least one post in the last 30 days, the figure is substantially lower than the initial value of 58k from bpip.org. Someone posted it in this thread, and I'm too lazy to look for it.(It was roughly 21k at the time)

2078  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | FPL Football Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: May 23, 2023, 08:55:27 PM
Who knows, there is still a week left to play for, and that could make a significant difference too, so it's surely not over yet, and I think everyone have made multiple mistakes here or let's call them unfortunate decisions, Imagine, for this game week I took a -4 points hit to bring in Trent Alexander-Arnold for Kieran Trippier, that's a 12 points loss for me.

Trippier had a knot and was doubtful for the game against Leicester City, so it was an easy decision to go with Akanji with a DGW. ( sometimes its good to not read the News)

only Pep can save my GW now- give Grealish and Akanji 90mins of football and return Mahrez and Alvarez back to the bench  Grin.

Any news on the weekly free bets?
I think there is a delay in Free bets distribution, I'm also still yet to get one some weeks ago from the Bundesliga Pool, so I believe it's a general thing, but then OP should be able to give a more precisely information on it.

You are right.....
2079  Other / Meta / Re: Forum Menbership- 3.5m registered only 56k members survived?..... Why? on: May 23, 2023, 07:55:41 PM
When something like this comes up, the bullies and DT oppressors avoid participating in the conversation.
Who exactly are you pointing at? Name them, so they can read this topic Smiley
Also: if you believe someone abuses DT, exclude them. Others may or may not agree with you, but at least DT will be a tad more decentralized again.

No one in particular, but I'm sure they've already read my post, but I'm not sure I had anyone in mind; I was just trying to light up the woods and see what the community thinks.

My ~ is a drop in the ocean.

I didn't think there were 'only' 58k active accounts, but when you think about it that's still a pretty high number for an old-school discussion forum.  If signature campaigns went away, though?  I bet that number would drop off a cliff in a heartbeat.
theymos is well aware of this and that's why he is not letting it go anytime soon....
