2061  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Something big in the next few days? on: April 16, 2015, 03:19:29 PM
Well this the bit of news by that Legendary poster Elwar that was supposedly the much hyped "big news":

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1025782.0

Big for him personally, I guess.  For Bitcoin as a whole, a community...not so much, I hate to say... Embarrassed

Aaaaand it's about tax day. Someone guessed it correctly but it's been overlooked upon because most of us think that it's not that "big" for bitcoin.

Read it again.  It's about promoting his alternative Bitpools forum with Bitcoin balance verification to weed out trolls, and Seastead crowdfunding project.
2062  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can the Bitcoin Foundation best help Bitcoin? From New Exec Director on: April 16, 2015, 03:11:43 PM
Besides the beaten to death consensus #1 gripe about the Bitcoin Foundation, Transparency, we need to get Bitcoin out there to the masses.

Promotion.

Make infographics and web flyers continuosly like this one.  Make it easy to read so the common man gets the message fast.

Marketing and Advertising.

Need more Bitcoin Bowls and things of the like.  Put a QR code on like an MMA fighter or advertise in lower level sporting events to start.  Put Bitcoin's name all over an eSports or Action sports event.  Keep advertising!

Strategic Partnerships.

Partner with companies that make sense.  Partner Bitcoin Foundation with social media channels, like Linked In or Pinterest.

Charities.

Connect with United Way, Red Cross, Wounded Warrior or the like.  Have Charity fundraisers in Bitcoin.

There's so many ways the Bitcoin Foundation can do good for Bitcoin and it's community, hopefully the new leadership will take heed.
2063  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Got my ROI some days ago... on: April 16, 2015, 02:53:32 PM
This photo s what makes them ponzi 100%. Nobody puts miners so close to the wall. No cables, nothing.

If the photo s fake, then you can only ask, WHY FAKE IT IF THEY ARE LEGIT?

Looks toooooo clean to me.

I need me some wiring mess like I have in my basement and garage!!!   Cheesy

If you look closely you'll notice that the picture is a bit blurred, the miners are out of focus.
Now compare the above with a similar picture taken in a real facility:

The shadows below the racks are uneven, like they should be. You can see marks on the floor from moving the equipment, the wires, light coming in through the cooling vents in the wall behind the miners...

This, exactly!  The picture from Bitcoin Cloud Services looks like it was copy/pasted from real legitimate cloud service providers(is there such a thing), touched up and sterilized to look like the perfect Bitcoin mine.

I mean even Genesis Mining's pictures look a little neat for me, even though it looks to be proven real:

This is more along the lines of what I want to see in a Bitcoin mine:

Wires everywhere!  Not sure about Hashnest profitability wise, but at least you know it's real mining.

Tried investing in pbmining. All my coins are gone now...

Sorry to hear, man.   Cry

Cloud mining and HYIP are probably the biggest scams in Bitcoin/Crypto right now.

Pay you for a few cycles, then either change terms, raise rates, or up and leave at the drop of dime and claim wallet hack.
2066  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Something big for Bitcoin coming April 15th on: April 16, 2015, 02:34:44 PM
17 pages, I can't believe ppl are so naive they fall for this, a stranger might as well ask you to wait in a park for 2 months because he got something for you Roll Eyes Tongue

I give Elwar credit though.  He got us talking, speculating, wishing big...

End game not so much, but this what a forum is supposed to be about.

Kudos Elwar!  For sparking the dialogue of possibilites.  Bitpools, eh, we'll see.
2067  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Hillary Clinton Trustworthy? on: April 16, 2015, 02:28:40 PM
Not sure Politician and Trustworthy go hand in hand.  I mean...she's a politician!  Basically all snake oil salesmen.

As of right now, I'm party-less, don't side or trust any of these candidates.  Gun to head, there would be only one candidate that I'd actually vote for, and not for politics or issues:

Support what you know!  BTC talks for me.   Wink
2068  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Skill Game with Bitcoin on: April 16, 2015, 02:23:10 PM
There's only one game where you can earn up to billions in Bitcoin!

Sure, they're virtual, but once you start this game, you won't stop!   Grin
2069  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Use In Philippines on: April 16, 2015, 02:16:28 PM
No mention of Rebit for remittances from the US to PI?

https://rebit.ph/

Or the brain trust that practically owns all of these Bitcoin operating units in the Phillippines?

http://sci.ph/

Satoshi Citadel Industries pretty much runs Bitcoin in the Phillippines.  If you want to stir the hornets nest, best to contact someone from SCI with your idea, and they'll hopefully make it happen in the PI.
2070  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Which Bitcoin Exchange do you use and why ? on: April 16, 2015, 01:24:42 PM
Eager to check out Noble Markets and Gemini when they finally launch:

http://noblex.io/

https://gemini.com/

For now, will have to stick to the old guard:

BitStamp, BTC-E, Bitfinex, Kraken, Coinbase exchange, Bit-X, Cryptsy etc...
2071  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Something big for Bitcoin coming April 15th on: April 16, 2015, 01:19:30 PM
So the 15th has come and gone, and that something big is.....Elwars Bitpools forum.

Well if that doesn't get your juices flowing....well it doesn't, I'm afraid to say.   Undecided

But it's a forum that forces you to prove you have and hold some Bitcoin to weed out the trolls!  So what.  Beartrolls hold Bitcoin too.  Just because they troll doesn't mean they don't hold.

But it's also a crowdfunding forum where you get a nice Bitcoin seastead!  And.  You'll need millions of money, BTC or fiat just to maintain it, and the natives would get restless pretty fast.

Guess, anything to drive a little traffic to his own forum and create a mini hype cycle.

Overall, a suck of an announcement truth be told....
2072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Something big for Bitcoin coming April 15th on: April 15, 2015, 05:11:58 PM
Well, it's April 15th and he hasn't posted in two months, but he is online right now.

So the big bitcoin event was his presence online on bitcointalk forums on the date of April 15th?   Grin

He posted yesterday/today.

Yup, posted overnight:

So far much ado about nothing...
2073  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the Blockchain Endure if Bitcoin goes Bust? on: April 15, 2015, 03:53:43 PM
Can you even separate the two?  I thought the 2 are synergistic to one another.

Any other Blockchain creation would just be an Alt Chain.  We already have a burgeoning ecosytem with miners, developers, businesses, traders, startups, consumers...it's growing steady day by day.

Safe to say, if one dies, the other goes kaputz also.

Bitcoin is doomed and Satochi is cashing out. Be quick.

I concur!  Add your obituary for Bitcoin here:

Anyone have Satoshi's wallet address?  Gots to trace that 1mill BTC dumping on the exchanges...

Sayonara BTC, you've had a good 6 year ride!   Cry

2077  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could Dash realistically compete with bitcoin on: April 15, 2015, 02:58:20 PM
I think so!  Dash has as good a chance as any to compete with Bitcoin.

Here's what Dash's creators had to say about their project:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIasr2AiyZ0
Well to be fair Dash was Drk and it isn't just another shitcoin.

True indeed.  DASH, DARKCOIN, NXT, CLAMS, LEO, Ripple....all improving upon the original!

Ehh, who am I kidding...they're all the same shit!

2079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mainstream on: April 15, 2015, 02:43:42 PM

Samsung is a real possibility.
Do you have some information or is this just something that you think is possible?

Samsung already has plans for Bitcoin...

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-04-10/samsung-plans-to-take-bitcoin-technology-beyond-virtual-currency

Quote
Samsung Electronics Co. is working with International Business Machines Corp. to use bitcoin technology for new applications.
While bitcoin’s price has almost halved in the past year and the prospects for the digital currency are uncertain, its underlying software is attracting companies like phone makers, carriers and banks. That’s because the technology can be tweaked to record changes in ownership of any asset in a public ledger using a distributed network of computers or mobile phones. It could help facilitate all types of online transactions.
Samsung Research America, a division based in Silicon Valley, has researchers looking at using the so-called bitcoin blockchain to design better ways to verify “that what you say is authentic is authentic,” said Steven Rahman, director of strategy at the research division.
Samsung makes electronics ranging from Galaxy smartphones to home appliances and TVs. The Suwon, South Korea-based company also runs music radio and video services, a mobile-payment service, and offers a variety of apps.
“The blockchain technology is very interesting in general, and it can be applied in a lot of areas,” Rahman said. “Currency, it’s just the first use case. You could imagine that anything, like prescriptions, could be managed with the blockchain technology.”
Samsung Research America usually develops technologies that may be used in commercial products in two to five years, he said, declining to provide further details about the bitcoin project.
Storage Alternative
The bitcoin blockchain could allow for cheaper money transfer and be used for storage of files like songs and videos, which currently require companies to either buy hundreds of servers or lease capacity from other service providers.
Other companies have become interested in the technology. Orange SA’s Silicon Valley-based venture-capital arm has said it’s looking to invest in bitcoin startups. This year Nasdaq OMX Group Inc. licensed its technology to a bitcoin trading company, while the New York Stock Exchange invested in bitcoin startup Coinbase.
Steve Tomasco, a spokesman for IBM, didn’t respond to a request for comment.

Everybody in Silicon Valley loves them some Blockchain!  The currency not so much, but thank goodness for that Blockchain invention.  Thank you Satoshi!!!
