2061  Other / Meta / Re: My proposal to reduce signature campaign spamming on: February 05, 2016, 08:33:31 PM
I have some ideas.
First, signature campaign managers are "supposed" to be the ones who ban people from campaigns.
Second, signature campaigns should pay people based on the quality of their posts (not on number of posts).
Third, payments shouldn't be made for signature campaigns if they adopt one of the following strategies:
  • Posts must be more than 75 characters.
  • Posts must be more than 3 sentences
They should add another one for pots being on topic with the OP.

Finally, users should NOT be paid based on rank, but on loyalty to the campaign.
Example: a user should have their payment increase by, say, 5% per payment.

Or, there could be fixed payment systems (that paymore than payment per post, that are more efficient)

I find it good to have a minimum amount of character and/or sentences!

After all, if your answer is too short, that means you add nothing to the thread. So that you shouldn't post at all.
That will limit spam, not only for sig campaign but for everything!
I like this idea a lot. But not the 3 sentences part cause sometimes you make just one super ultra fucking long sentence xD
2062  Other / Politics & Society / Re: On Paper, Italy Allows Abortions, but Few Doctors Will Perform Them on: February 05, 2016, 08:30:33 PM
Not a great news. It's the case in most countries.

Problem is abortion is legalized and is considered as a right, but on the other hand there is no sanction for doctors refusing to do it.

So it all depends on the doctors. And they're not all confident/intelligent enough to accept.
2063  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Turkey Arrests Egypt Family of 12 on Way to Join IS in Syria on: February 05, 2016, 08:29:29 PM
Sure they did. They'll "arrest" them, feed them well and give them a cozy place to rest for a few days, and then send them back on there way with a pat on the ass..

Lol, not exactly how it works in Turkey bro... They more beat you to death you know?
2064  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Where would society be without the internet? on: February 05, 2016, 08:28:44 PM
Just need to ask parents, and people in middle ages. They can tell us that, because internet is growing from 1994 till present..

See? Nobody cares about what people say above, they just sig farm that's all xD

We should report all of you lol!
2065  Economy / Speculation / Re: Automated posting on: February 05, 2016, 08:26:47 PM

Fired up a new node with Bitcoin Classic.

Only 7 years and 4 weeks behind.

Do you really want this fork to find 75% of the hash, Fatty? I'm still torn.

It's just a node, it's not hashing.

I don't think Gmaxwell or Luke-Jr are necessarily aiming for this. They seem to have an estethical idea of how the network technically should work. That can be a good thing in many cases, but it can also lead them astray.

Also launching a node, it takes so long to sync... I think they are purposefully limiting bitcoin with smaller blocks to show their control. I dont believe Maxwell, LukeJr, or Ptodd's lies anymore. I'd rather a known three letter agency operating bitcoin then let those three continue to destroy it. At least with gavnista and tor blacklisting, these were known entities, scaling is supported, and the network would still work. After reading gmaxwells explanation (if you can even call it that) of decentralization in relation to LN I can't see how SegWit & LN are like a 1920's cheap parlor trick. I for one welcome the 75% fork... Let's see them change POW to prevent asics from ruining their coin.

(Sorry, but that argument is crazy. Prevent decentralization by breaking asics so you have to gpu mine. He who has the most cash still rules with that regard, it changes nothing.)

Wow, this argument is both really crazy and really scary...

But I don't think btc draws enough attention so some people/industries put so much efforts in the battle.
And in a way, even if you crash the mining process, it's not so important. If you crash the mining, you limit the adoption but you also make it easier for everyone to mine no? So instead of crazy industrial instalation mining, we would have just normal instalation ran by some people. And everyone would mine a bit at home.

Am I wrong?
2066  Economy / Economics / Re: Why You Should Never Sell Your Bitcoins Ever on: February 05, 2016, 08:23:55 PM
I feel like even the title of this thread is wrong...

You don't exactly "sell btx". Well I know you do in a sense, but you got to consider btc as all other currencies. It's just a currency so you make an exchange of currency but keep the same value.

So it's not a question of selling your btc but more a question of where do you want to put your value? What do you trust the most in order to stock your possession?

That's a very personal question and I don't think there is ONE good answer Smiley
2067  Economy / Economics / Re: If bitcoin price is $10.000, will fiat be worthless? on: February 05, 2016, 08:21:57 PM
It can be.

Btc could reach this amount in two ways:
-incredible adoption right now, with a scaling btc. Btc wouldn't be produced on a sufficient amount so a crazy inflation could make the price skyrocket so hard. In this case fiat isn't worthless, it's just that btc is incredibly hype and expansive.
-If btc is used as a way to store value (as it was intended to) then imagine if USA debt HAS to be repaid. They could just print as much dollars as they want and the incredible deflation resulting could mean that dollars worth nothing. Hence btc worth lots. but it wouldn't be very profitable cause it would just mean that btc is stable and $ is shitty.
2068  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: (⌐■_■) Free BTC trading bot on: February 05, 2016, 08:17:47 PM
i'm interested if this bot, is even slightly profitable, few % per day and a +ev in the long term, but it must be open source
Agreed, sounds very interesting as I have no experience programming one myself. If you are offering it here then yeah, open source for any who come across it.

I was skeptical at first but you didn't throw up a random .exe file so that's a plus.  Wink

Lol I would never run a .exe on my comp from some random guy at a forum.

I was thinking of releasing it in a very primitive and safe way.

As a simple mailing list, everyday you'll get an email that tells you if you should buy/sell/hold.

Then if people like it I will listen to their feedback and build up additional features.

Would you subscribe or not?

I agree. It's damned fishy when someone says "I have a free software to make you earn money".

My ass yeah, if you had such a software you would just run it yourself with lots of money on it. Or even take a loan and use the money from the loan.

I don't believe you at all, it's certainly a malware, else why sharing?
2069  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How I was scammed ...... on: February 05, 2016, 08:16:07 PM
Thank you for some great feedback...........and not for laying it on so thick.....lol.  Yeah, I walked right into it.

1.  He scammed me for about $350

2.  I downloaded Team Viewer from the website, not a link.

3.  Thank you for the tips about securing my computer, I haven't noticed anything weird...but I will do all the necessary scans.

4.  The question about the code.....no I told him I knew how to use it, but he wanted to see it applied to my debit  account online (we never got that far obviously....I'm not sure what exactly he said to me to get to my wallet right away.   I think something about needing to verify that I had the necessary amount available for the trade.)     I'm not exactly sure how the particulars of the Team Viewer work where he could actually gain access to my computer.............and empty those coins out.....did he somehow key-log my password on the blockchain?

The funny thing is I used to scam....so it's like it all comes back around.  Scam and be scammed.  I don't know why I fell so hypnotized in this scenario....part of it was being a noob to this particular style of trading, part of it was just being too gullible - nice- thinking everybody was my friend.  Part of it was greed and needing to make a fast buck.  LOL, it's been a long time since I was on the opposite end of a scam....so perhaps I was overconfident.     I hope this helps somebody...or at least serves as a lesson on WHAT NOT TO DO.......

Thanks everybody for being constructive and not telling me how stupid I am (because I already am aware of that......lol)

Honnestly... I wouldn't say you're stupid.

Even after your explanations I had to take some time to understand everything. I didn't know TeamViewer either so I understand that you rushed a bit and trusted the man in front of view.

That's a rather elaborated scam. I think I would have felt for it.

Thanks for sharing, you maybe saved me some money in the future!
And sorry for your loses, like most of us you learnt something the hard way  Undecided
2070  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How is escrow safe? on: February 05, 2016, 08:12:53 PM
Hello. I keep reading that members should use escrow when using paypal.  What stops buyer from a chargeback against the escrow and then escrow charge back against seller? I am looking to sell via paypal but do not want to risk chargeback. Virowox seems expensive to use although it is safe.

Even if you use an escrow for a Paypal deal, transaction can go sour since Paypal charge back can be filed up to 180 days from date of transaction if i'm not mistaken, unless escrows will release the item purchased using Paypal after the 180 day timeframe

I think you're not mistaken. I barely understand how PayPal can be used as I see everywhere that you can cancel your transfer in the 180 days after. What's the point of a transfer system if you can reverse it?

Maybe I miss some elements though Grin
2071  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: TUTORIAL: How to memorize a private key/passphrase on: February 05, 2016, 08:10:48 PM
A bit strange... I mean I appreciate the tutorial and all but... Why not just writing it on a piece of paper?

I mean ok it's not perfectly secure but... Come on...

To be stolen you'd need your piece of paper to be taken (so you'd need to be robbed, which is not very lucky already). But to be robed by someone having enough time to read your piece of paper and consider it interesting! So by someone having enough time to read it AND knowing enough about btc to suppose that it can be a secret seed!

I don't say it can't happen but... Come on... It can't happen xD
2072  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Best online Bitcoin wallet ? on: February 05, 2016, 08:08:29 PM
Electrum!

I love electrum, it's maybe not the "online wallet" definition cause you get to download an app, but it won't download the whole chain, so you won't have a lots of data on your computer.

But you'll have to be online to use it of course.

Really easy to use, safe, secure, fast, automated fees...
A good history of all your transactions.
Multiple adresses.

Don't know what you can ask more Cheesy
2073  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the safest way to store Bitcoins? on: February 05, 2016, 08:06:41 PM
The safest way is always "cold storage" which means either on paper (and you put that son of a bitch in a lock or something like that, it mustn't burn) Or on a laptop not connected to the internet.

But I always wondered, what happens if your laptop dies? You just lost your btc?
2074  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Where can I find a miner that is lower cost w/o scams? on: February 05, 2016, 08:05:18 PM
If you're living in Canada it's rather easy.

Just go to the Marketplace in the forum. Lots of users are Canadian or American.

It's much harder for European but a Canadian can find a deal easily here, and Marketplace is always full of good opportunities of peaople seling lots of stuff at the same time so at low price Smiley
2075  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Anyone following the ebola outbreak? on: February 05, 2016, 08:03:23 PM
Hey you know what? I never heard of Ebola in the passed few weeks!

Only few months ago it was the most incredible disease ever, so dangerous and all.

And now nobody talks about it and all the media start to tchat about the Zika virus.

Am I the only one having the impression that they just talk because they need to?
2076  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Case of Sexually Transmitted Zika Virus Reported in Texas on: February 05, 2016, 08:01:59 PM
Damn, it's Aedes mosquitoes again. They spread the unholy Trinity - dengue, chikungunya, and zika - among mankind.

I just read in the news about the first pregnant woman diagnosed with Zika in Europe.

I initially thought it was just a Facebook rumor when people told me that there was this virus that causes babies to be born with small heads. Apparently they still haven't confirmed the link between Zika virus and the microcephaly according to the articles I read just now.

Yeah seems like it's spreading damn quick!!!

You know it's really incredible how musquitoes are responsible of so many deaths... This is truly an animal we should eradicate, let the rhino alive and burn those motherfuckers!!!
2077  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Obama Is Pressed to Open Military Front Against ISIS in Libya on: February 05, 2016, 08:00:51 PM
WASHINGTON — President Obama is being pressed by some of his top national security aides to approve the use of American military power in Libya to open up another front against the Islamic State.

But Mr. Obama, wary of embarking on an intervention in another strife-torn country, has told his aides to redouble their efforts to help form a unity government in Libya at the same time the Pentagon refines its options, which include airstrikes, commando raids or advising vetted Libyan militias on the ground, as Special Operations forces are doing now in eastern Syria. The use of large numbers of American ground troops is not being considered.

The debate, which played out in a meeting Mr. Obama had with his advisers last week, has not yet been resolved, nor have the size or contours of any possible American military involvement been determined.

“The White House just has to decide,” said one senior State Department official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations. “The case has been laid out by virtually every department.”

The number of Islamic State fighters in Libya, Pentagon officials said this week, has grown to between 5,000 and 6,500 — more than double the estimate government analysts disclosed last fall. Rather than travel to Iraq or Syria, many new Islamic State recruits from across North Africa have remained in Libya, in militant strongholds along more than 150 miles of Mediterranean coastline near Surt, these officials said.

The top leadership of the Islamic State in Syria has sent half a dozen top lieutenants to Libya to help organize what Western officials consider the most dangerous of the group’s eight global affiliates. In recent months, United States and British Special Operations teams have increased clandestine reconnaissance missions in Libya to identify the militant leaders and map out their networks for possible strikes.

Oh god please no....

Could the Western world (especially the USA but sadly enough it was not the USA that started this dumbass idea to fight Lybia) let the world in peace? I mean how the fuck those wars help us fight terrorism??? We just traumatize the population giving them more reason to die in kamikaze explosion in our cities!

I mean if we really want to fight them so bad, then stop this bullshit of war to bring democracy and just burn their country! A few atomic bombs and it'll be done. Else just let them be. Cause this semi-war isn't going to help us in any way...
2078  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Arm Yourselves, we're going on a crusade on: February 05, 2016, 07:58:38 PM
I would love to see a third bi-partisan faction that rises up because of all of this shit, I'm pretty certain we're going to see these left wing morons ejected at some point because this is all near the breaking point, but we equally need to be very careful we don't let literal neo-nazi's walk all over us and take advantage of the chaos as they always do.

Please don't be so extreme on the lefties man...

You know lots of country (like France) have "left government" but fuck me if you think they're really from left wing!!!
In France the government is just a shitty group of right wing liberalists and nothing else!!! They're just corrupted bitches who don't give a shit about their people, and they just give everything they can to private investors before the end of their government that's all.

True left governments would be very different. First, if left government are rather open to immigration, they're also very open to hard way to control emmigration, and they wouldn't just let the immigration spread in EU;
And a true left government wouldn't let those fucking international companies making 10 billions every year on the country go with paying only 1 million tax. Letting the people drying up to pay the rest of the tax...
2079  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Turkey Arrests Egypt Family of 12 on Way to Join IS in Syria on: February 05, 2016, 07:55:17 PM
Egypt says Turkish authorities have arrested an Egyptian family of 12 that was trying to cross into Syria to join the Islamic State group.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry's Monday statement says the family was arrested in the southern Turkish city of Adana, near the country's border with war-devastated Syria. The family includes three children.

The ministry says it demanded to know the details of the case and the nature of the charges pressed against the family.

Exploiting the civil unrest in Syria and Iraq, the Islamic State group seized large swaths of land in both countries and declared a "caliphate" in summer 2014. The group has attracted followers and fighters from all over the world.

Monday's statement does not say how Turkey knew the 12 wanted to join IS.

http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/turkey-arrests-egypt-family-12-join-syria-36216515

It's good to see that Turkey is working with EU on that.

But still, I don't trust this country. Let's not forget that the Turkey president is a fucking extremist himself! It's not because he arrested a few travellers and claim they were joining ISIS that he sundenly becomes a nice guy...

You know maybe this family did absolutely nothing but they were just on the wrong place at the wrong moment. Or pissed of the government and so went in jail and the ISIS thing is here just to give a justification...
2080  Other / Politics & Society / Re: On Paper, Italy Allows Abortions, but Few Doctors Will Perform Them on: February 05, 2016, 07:53:10 PM
I don't understand the mindset in these fanatic Catholic nations such as Italy, Poland and Brazil. They claim that they follow the Catholic principles. But on the other hand, these countries have some of the lowest birth rates in Europe. For example, in Poland, the women are having just 1.33 children each, compared to 1.75 in the neighboring Belarus (the average wages in Poland is many times of that in Belarus).

Those countries have also incredible social problem, but they're aware of it.
Would you want to give birth in a country with incredibly high unemployment, pollution, crime, poor future perspective and else?
