But as soon as people lose their precious coins due to their own carelessness and greed to a dubious enterprise in the East they all go running for law, police and central authority to rescue their asses.
How is an inside job our carelessness?

so in 69 minutes and 32 seconds you called this guy whom you know only little, reached him, explained the situation to him, clarified the hack, convinced him to return the coins, calculated an estimate return and wrote the lengthy statement...
are you kidding me?
+1 The guy is clearly a thief. I hope some vigilantes find him and break his legs, as a warning to future thief wanna-be types.

I have located a suspect, his name is 陈建海(Chen Jianhai). He's NOT my friend and we have never met in person. He was one of my previous business associates because he's very familiar with credit card fraud and he advised me a lot (in terms of fraud prevention, of course) when I built my virtual goods payment processor in late 2010.
He has knowledge of my secret gmail address and I have once re-used the password in his web shop
His English is not very proficient and I'm sure that he's not reading this forum at the moment. I'm giving him a call now to persuade him to admit his wrong-doing and return the funds.
I'll post another thread soon.
I was one of the first to predict that zhoutong had taken the money in an inside job. I'm now going to predict that he'll discover his "acquaintance" took the money and it will be returned shortly. And I predict there will still be people that think he is innocent in all this...

Have a advanced degree in AI, I specialize in OpenCL and Cuda
That is cool! I almost went into AI, but the lure of programming pulled me away.

I bet you dollars to donuts that Daniel Parnell (aka RealSolid) is on social assistance while he works "full time capacity" on the microcash code. He doesn't work - his wife doesn't work - how are they supporting their family?
Is there anyone in Australia that would want to make a little phone call and let them know that Daniel is committing fraud by running his own business while being on welfare?
Hey retard, Ever heard of running a business that gives you passive income? Not everyone is employed from 9 to 5. Unfortunately those who are (like you) are delusional to the point where they think its the only way to make money. Looks like Mlawrence struck a nerve. I think Realsolid realized if anyone called, he would lose his gravy train. Programming a scam while being supported by hard working taxpayers.

Just contact Apple corporate security and they can look for " https://bitcointalk.org" in their proxy logs. Using apple time or equipment to DDOS sites would get him fired, and I doubt he used a VPN each time he visited here...

Yeah, let's all run to the authorities because we don't like somebody or his project.
Also, working on an open-source project != running a business.
How about we run to the authorities because someone is taking money away from people that really need it? Also, if you are programming full time on something you expect to become rich from, it IS your own business and you can't be on welfare while doing it.

BCX once threatened to take down sc but has failed at that threat which I bet really pisses them off.
Really? Is sc still going?

Honestly, your posts really sound like CoinHunter. If you are not a sockpuppet, you must be a long lost twin.
You wouldn't believe how funny your reply is to me. Of course, you would need to know I'm not CoinHunter to comprehend it. for someone who hasnt posted for over a month ur awfully chatty tonight eh lol And suddenly RealSolid is also posting on the microcash forums.... hmmm.....

Okay, now I think i_rape is just doing this to make BCX more pissed off.
BCX and Realsolid go way back...

Thread necro, sorry about that.
There used to be a little site that let you enter a price and would beep or flash when the Gox price crossed that threshold, but I can't for the lift of me remember what it was called (it could well be dead).
Does anyone have a link to that?
I use an iPhone app called Bitcoin Ticker that lets you set up alerts, but not emails.

That doesn't state anything about RS abandoning the project, or members admitting the project is dead. You love those sensational thread titles eh? All I see is a comment from an idiot I guess we all have to wait a little longer and stand strong while being tested. Does he think RS is some sort of god that is testing him? ugh

RS has abandoned the project.
I couldn't find that on the link you provided...

My word, what a mess.
Well, I've railed on people enough for trusting these folks in the first place. I'll just say I sincerely hope all works out for the best for all of you still waiting on this. For those of you in the northern hemisphere anyway, it's summer, go float down some rivers on inner-tubes, have some bbq's and drink heavily with friends while you're waiting this out. Good luck.
+1 Good luck all involved.

However given that nobody is doing anything, I've been talking with some of the people with large claims. They've proposed helping take over the process with me. I suppose we need to get written consent that Bitcoinica Consultancy doesn't exist or that if it does that the members resign. This allows Bitcoinica LP to take over and hand the payouts process to us. Technically Bitcoinica LP owns the assets.
Have you called the police yet?

I'm probably going to regret this, but what do you call a unit of 420 Satoshis?
Potoshi.

We will think about other protection.
Has everyone involved with the exchange gone through a criminal record check?
