2081  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Taking a loan to buy Bitcoin? on: February 17, 2021, 12:47:43 PM
I think what we are seeing right now is a rocket that is launching. I want to get on this rocket and I think any minute it could be too late as there is already all kind of heat shooting out of the rocket. It is hard to get on at this time. So I am considering to take out a loan of say 20.000 Euros. It wouldn't kill me if it fails but I don't think it will fail. Even if it crashes it will come back 2 or 3 years later. And yes we might eventually end up seeing prices of $100M per Bitcoin or maybe $1B. I am saying this not so much because I think Bitcoin is a great invention. I am saying it because I think the Euro and the USD are currently collapsing. Now since Elon has gotten on others will get on. And eventually the government can not make Bitcoin illegal anymore because too many people are heavily invested.

Do you think taking out a loan makes any sense? The problem is that right now I can not do it because due to the lockdown my income is too low. I would have to wait for the lockdown to end. Then I can work night and day for a month so that I end up making like $7000 within a single month. With that I will easily get a loan of 20K maybe even 50K who knows?

Do you think it is worth it? This might be a once in a lifetime chance.

I would not recommend that you take out a loan to buy BTC. The fact is that any investment is a risk and investment in BTC is the same risk. And you can only risk that money that you can not lose. Yes, BTC is now showing a super result, its price is growing and will probably grow even more. But this is not the point, the point is that you want to borrow a large amount of money for a long time and there is always the possibility that everything may not go according to plan. Personally, I could not take such a risk, although they say risk is a noble cause. In any case, it's up to you and how you decide it will be. And whatever decision you make, I want to wish you good luck!

2083  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla buys 1.5 BILLION worth Bitcoins !! Good or Bad ? on: February 16, 2021, 03:56:31 PM
I think Tesla's purchase of BTC is certainly very good and is probably a signal to other big companies that it's time to buy cryptocurrencies. We have all been talking about the adoption of crypto all over the world for a long time, and right now we can see the beginning of this process. This is just great news and we will probably see other large companies and funds start buying crypto, which will send the price of BTC and other cryptocurrencies to the moon. But no matter how it goes on, we always need to remember about the risks when investing and make our investments thoughtfully.
2084  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: See why I think etheruem will be bullish on: February 15, 2021, 11:04:23 PM
Indeed, the problem with Ethereum fees right now is preventing the coin from showing even more growth and it would be very good if this problem could be resolved as soon as possible. I personally have problems using ETH and ERC-20 tokens due to high fees and probably many people are experiencing this problem. On the other hand, you can see how large companies are buying large volumes of ETH right now in spite of high commissions and this probably gives them an advantage over smaller users and investors. Perhaps the launch of the solution to the problem with commissions is artificially delayed so that large players can buy ETH. This is just my guess, but in any case, for a more successful development of ETH, the commissions need to be minimal, and then the use of ETH will be greater and its price will be higher.
2085  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this the Ethereum killer? on: February 14, 2021, 12:28:26 PM
I don't think anyone is tasked with being an ETH killer. Probably those who are talking about this do not know the history of the development of the crypto industry. I would suggest replacing the word killer with a competitor in such conversations, this would be a more or less normal comparison, and even then not 100%. Why kill ETH? This is stupid and unnecessary, since ETH really has huge support from the crypto community, which means that you can try to compete with ETH, but this does not mean that someone will succeed in replacing ETH. Moreover, we have already seen such statements many times, but no one has been able to overtake ETH. Probably just no one wants to do this, but just everyone develops to the best of their ability. I am personally a supporter of crypto including ETH and I believe that all crypto assets are good if they benefit the crypto community.
2086  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Selling to lock in profit question... on: February 14, 2021, 11:34:50 AM
Please excuse me if this has been asked as I have searched for a while but haven't found any answers.  Here is my scenario. Say I buy 1000 crypto coin 'X'  in its infancy for 10 cents each.   The value increases 100% so now each coin is worth 20 cents.   My question is, do I lose any advantage by selling at this new high And when the coin retraces back down to 15 cents,  reinvest the entire amount?  Like, am I at a more disadvantaged position because I am now purchasing the coin at 15 cents, when I had once purchased it at 10 cents?  Would I be in a better position if I were to just hodl the coin I purchased cheaply instead of taking profit and reinvesting at the higher price than my original purchase price?

Im not referring to selling and buying the coins back at a higher price,  just a higher price than what I originally paid when I first bought,  which was 10 cents. God, I hope this makes sense.   Haha I really appreciate everyone on Bitcointalk..  everyone that i have interacted with has been very nice and extremely helpful.   Thank you all!

"Equality is a way of life,  not just donning the t-shirt."

I believe that before investing you need to have a clear plan of action, as this will allow you to clearly see your plan and reach your goal. If you want advice on your strategy, then you will likely receive different recommendations and this does not guarantee that you will choose the correct recommendation. But as far as your question is concerned, the task of each investor is to receive and fix the profit. If your asset has made 100% of the profit, then one of the correct actions may be the opportunity to sell the asset, so that you take your invested funds, and the remaining funds, that is, distribute the profit. Either invest it again, or do it partially. In any case, there are standard investor rules, according to which each investor must have time to at least return his funds, and the profit received can already be used at your discretion.
2087  Economy / Economics / Re: The recent rise in prices, temporary or more long term? on: February 14, 2021, 11:25:50 AM
BTC has risen quite a bit recently, but at a slower overall rate than in December 2017.

Given that it looks like Joe and the Ho might actually get in, I am wondering if the big rise in BTC interest is because people are using crypto to transfer or HODL their cash assets to avoid taxes.  I certainly would.  I think that if it is the case, then BTC price has quite a bit of upside left in it yet, and when (not if) biden tanks the economy, then BTC will be used even more.

What do you think of the recent price gains and if the prices will stay up or crash out?

Trump won the election.  biden was INSTALLED, not elected.  There's a difference.

Right now, we can see news that shows us that BTC and other cryptocurrencies are actively bought by large companies such as Tesla. This means that the growth of BTC is due precisely to these events and the fact that large companies have accumulated large capital and are now looking for opportunities to preserve it and increase it. Why not do it partially through BTC and other cryptocurrencies. Indeed, they make a choice in favor of crypto and this moves the prices of crypto up. If this trend continues, and it is likely to continue, then we will see the price of BTC several times higher. In any case, I and the entire crypto community hope so.
2088  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If BTC were to permanently freeze at one price , would you buy ? on: February 13, 2021, 08:57:24 PM
So let's say BTC was to be absolutely frozen from here on at todays price ,would you still buy?

I don't think BTC was intended as the speculation tool it has turned into .

Who on here regularly makes purchases using BTC ?

Personally, I would not buy BTC if its price were fixed forever. The reason is that I personally use BTC as a short-term earning opportunity. As for the question, why was BTC created, then it is impossible to say for sure, since its true purpose has not yet been determined and there are many different statements on this reason. As for whether it is possible to use BTC now to buy goods or services, it is likely that it is possible and there are people who are ready to sell a house, car and other things for BTC, but of course this is on a small scale, but perhaps in the future everything may change.
2089  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Doge? XRP? ETH? All Shitcoins. Read this Thread I will make you rich on: February 13, 2021, 08:42:19 PM
So I got rich from crypto buying Link, Aave, and many others CHEAP.

I made x50, x100 and more on some of my investments.

THE ONLY REASON I GOT RICH? I didnt listen to the mass who say you need to buy
expensive coins.

Is ETH a good project? YES. Does eth have problems as $50 fees for token transfers?
YES!

Will ETH 2.0 fix this? PARTLY.

Will ETH make you rich? HOW?Huh When people way before you bought millions of ETH
for $0.25 each or for $10. You are TOO LATE.

If you want massive gains in crypto you need to do the work (most people are too lazy)
and find projects with great teams who are still CHEAP

Like KoinOS which is just at about $3mil marketcap with some of the best blockchain
devs in the world, free transactions and a lot of potential. So from $3m market cap
its easy to go to $3 billion market cap. What this means for YOU?

For $1000 you put into it you get $1 million. Like the early BTC and ETH INvestors

Why invest in expensive shitcoins?

Post more projects that are still cheap!

It is very good that you were able to make good money by investing in little-known crypto assets. But I don't think it is very easy to choose such an asset. You are right, you need to carry out work and identify such projects with such coins, but most investors do not want to spend time studying the market. On the other hand, you can also make money by investing in top altcoins, only your earnings will be less. I believe that this is not as scary as if you lose money, the main thing here is to get and fix a profit, but its size will depend only on whether you are lucky or not. The choice of promising crypto assets is good, but it also does not give 100% that they will be profitable.
2090  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is better, ether or bitcoin? on: February 13, 2021, 08:35:58 PM
What do people think? Is it better to invest, say, 100 dollars in ether or bitcoin?

If we evaluate it from the point of view of significance, it is better to invest in BTC, since it is BTC that is being talked about everywhere and now many large companies and even banks want to become owners of BTC. As for ETH, it is likely that this cryptocurrency is also good and has more application, but if we are talking about long-term investments and maximum profits, then it is best to invest in BTC, ETH in this case costs less than BTC and as a crypto asset it can perfectly suit investors with small capital.
2091  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bull run: will it end in May? on: February 12, 2021, 08:15:36 PM
The first two runs ended exactly one year after the mining reward halving.
E.g. December 2016 => Dec. 2017

IMO it will be the same this time, May 2020 => May 2021

So we shall assume the price the BTC will have in May will be the maximum for this cycle?
Should we sell in May?

I believe the bull run for crypto should end either at the end of this year or early next. My conclusion is based on the cyclical development of the crypto market, and probably 2021 is the last year of the next cycle and as the history of the crypto has always reached new heights. Of course, this is not a 100% statement, but at the moment it is very similar to it. But no matter how it was, you must always be prepared for the fact that the price of the crypto can go down sharply. Remember the basic rules of investing and don't be greedy.
2092  Economy / Economics / Re: Miami Mayor Will Allow Employee salaries in Bitcoin on: February 12, 2021, 08:09:45 PM
This is probably very good news for the crypto industry as this action will start the massive adoption of crypto around the world in the real sector. Also, this event will help to avoid the problem with inflation, which is very likely in the US in the near future. I also hold BTC and believe in its success. Let's hope the Mayor of Miami succeeds. It is likely that BTC and the entire crypto industry are on the verge of a big breakthrough, and this is very encouraging.
2093  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we get another golden oppurtunity to buy? on: February 12, 2021, 03:54:56 PM
Like many bitcoiners im one of the people who didnt bought bitcoin at 6000$ or even 15k or 20k$ and i wonder if its possible to see bitcoin in at least 20k again
If no should i buy now or wait more to get lower price ?

If you study the history of the development of the crypto market, then it is likely that 2021 will be the year of constant growth of cryptocurrencies. Of course, this does not mean that there will be no corrections, but you need to understand that if there is a price correction, it will not be so big. In other words, we will probably not see the price of 6,000 or 20,000 USD for 1 BTC in this 2021. Why? As you noticed, FOMO is now starting and large players who have already bought BTC and those who will still buy, although they will earn big money, and for this they need to raise the BTC price as high as possible. Therefore, one should not hope to see low prices for BTC in the near future. As for buying BTC now or later, it is up to you to decide here. In any case, you should always remember the rules of investing, namely to invest funds that you do not mind losing. The crypto market is not predictable and everyone knows this, and therefore the situation in the market can change dramatically and very often.
2094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH’s “top” this market cycle? on: February 11, 2021, 04:46:38 PM
Ethereum has “woken” from its long slumber and risen 2.5x (250%) from its price of $400 USD in Sept/Oct 20 to over $1,000 USD in the last few days with a parabolic rise! It seems like only a matter of time until ETH surpasses its ATH from Jan 2018 of $1,450 USD which would be a 3.5x rise (350%) from Sept/Oct, and optimistically I can envisage it’s price rising to $4,000 USD in the ‘altcoin season’ of 2021 that has now started which would be a 10x rise (1,000%) from its price in Sept/Oct 20 for potentially life changing profits if you’re in now! But does anyone think ETH can go to $50K USD as Ivan On Tech predicated quite emphatically yesterday in his daily Youtube broadcast (watch from 9mins in to 10.5 mins) https://youtu.be/QoQyzAekIa8 - which would be an incredible 125x rise (12,500%) from the Sept/Oct price of $400 USD, and a 500x rise (5,000%) from the current price of $1,000 USD as this altcoin bull market of 2021 starts! Was he joking? (he didn’t seem to be), as he high? (umm who knows but he seemed on cue and on the ball orherwise), was he mistaken meaning $5k and not $50K (no he was adamant about this saying first that ETH would definitely go to $20K this cycle which was BTC’s peak in the last cycle, and then after a moments consideration predicting for 15 secs+ that he believed ETH would probably go much higher to 50K+ in this market cycle which would be MORE than life changing and make even the mega-rich envious of the wealth created!💰).

What do others here think of this speculation which seems incredible and unbelievable but who knows - do you think a $50K USD ETH top in this market cycle is crazy talk, or do you think it’s a wildly optimistic possibility with DeFi that’s going to be huge in 2021 running 95% on ETH and with ETH 2.0 offering the promise of massive scalability just in time hopefully to save the day from the “ETH-killers”! Thoughts? ....

Personally, I started working with ETH back in 2017 and am still a fan of it now. As for talking about the growth of ETH up to 50,000 USD, I can say that anything can happen. The fact is that many large companies have collected huge amounts of capital at the moment, and if these savings are not managed correctly, they will be swallowed up by inflation. Yes, I mean exactly the dollar. What should I do in this case? Of course, look for an asset not only to save your funds, but also to increase. Cryptocurrencies may well be one such asset, which means that the crypto market could receive trillions of dollars, and this in turn will send the prices of many cryptocurrencies above the moon to Mars. And based on this, the ETH price of 50,000 USD may well become real.
2095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How long can this BULL run last?? on: February 11, 2021, 04:32:57 PM
Just a curious question.
How long can this BULL run last??
As there will be a huge correction inevitably.

Would love to hear different strategies or exit plans or Hodlers
Which coin should we buy now?

Guidance from old Experts would be appreciated!

I believe that the whole of 2021 will be the year of cryptocurrency growth. My conviction is based on the history of the development of the crypto market, where you can see the cyclical nature of all processes. I think it's no longer a secret that each cycle lasts four years and the last year of each cycle is a year of growth and new highs for cryptocurrencies. 2017 was the last year of the previous cycle and we saw a lot of growth in cryptocurrencies. We add four years and we get 2021, which should also be the year when the cryptocurrency will show new heights. As for which crypto asset to buy now, I believe that this question is difficult to answer, because many cryptocurrencies have already shown growth. Most likely, you should pay attention to those cryptocurrencies that have not yet reached their previous highs.
2096  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should I sell or hold on my bitcoin? on: February 10, 2021, 05:08:02 PM
Hi Everyone, I have a dilemma since I am holding an wholesome portion of bitcoin. With all the speculation going on in the market I don't know whether to sell or hold on my bitcoin. I've been wanting for more than a week to see if bitcoin's price improves, but it is only falling more and more.

I've gone through dozens of analysts' blogs, websites, market cap sites, price prediction sites, and all the important bitcoin market sites to find the right answer. But I am still unsure.

So, can anyone please tell me if I should dump my bitcoins with some losses (selling at lesser price than the buying price), or should I hold on to it?

There is also another reason. A promising stock just opened up. So should I sell my bitcoins and but the new stock that I'm interested in?

Viketo Sumi (Armani123)

As far as I can see, BTC has already shown excellent growth, and probably if you bought BTC earlier, then if you sell it now, you will get an excellent profit. However, you point out that if you sell it now, then you will be at a loss, it turns out that you bought it quite recently? If so, then you definitely need to keep your BTC and by the summer you will see how it will show a new height. My opinion is that if you buy BTC, you should immediately decide at what price you will sell it. This will help you create a goal for yourself and move towards it.
2097  Economy / Economics / Re: The GameStop drama and what does it mean for Bitcoin on: February 10, 2021, 05:00:57 PM
If you are living under the rock, the GameStop (GME) stock trading has been making quite the news recently, because retail investors organized on reddit managed to pump this stock and made some hedge funds suffer tremendous losses on their short positions, to a point when trading had to be halted, and similar events occured with other stocks.

Some people from crypto industry are already making comments how this can be good for crypto, because it's a revolt against old-school centralized finance.

I personally wouldn't hurry with conclusions, as this drama isn't over and we're yet to see any actions from SEC, who already said that they are monitoring the situation.

What do you think?

I believe that the situation with GameStop stocks showed how bad the stock trading system is and that this is where major manipulations have been taking place for a long time. With regard to the SEC's response, how can such an organization watch when a big deception is happening in front of our eyes and its eyes? Apparently this event also shows that the SEC itself is involved in these manipulations on stock trading. Whatever it was, but there is a high probability that this event will affect some of the players in the stock market and force them to switch to the crypto market. Of course, this would be very good as the crypto market would attract even more money.
2098  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk is Opening The Pandora Box on: February 09, 2021, 03:00:52 PM

The entrance of Tesla - the very company that is always associated with Elon Musk -- into Bitcoin catapulted the coin into another new ATH at the moment and there is that possibility that soon we can finally see BTC breaking the $50K zone.

With the announcement of the investment of $1.5 Billion into Bitcoin and maybe accepting the coin as payments for its products and services, Elon Musk and Tesla can be opening the big Pandora box for other big corporate entities especially in the USA to also join the fray. Right now, there is that rumor for Apple to also do the same thing.

Such is the power of influence that Elon Musk is having in his fingertips, literally and figuratively. So do you think that this scenario can be possible - the coming in of more corporate buyers into Bitcoin?

When there was a question about the adoption of BTC and crypto in the world, then I can't even think that we are talking about large companies. But already now we see that Pandora's box is open and now a lot of money should pour into BTC and other cryptocurrencies. This is definitely a very important step for the development and adoption of crypto. Now a lot of money is coming into play and this will probably send the price of BTC and a number of other crypto assets further than the moon, probably to Mars.
2099  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Prepare for the big and long dump this year. on: February 09, 2021, 02:54:53 PM
What do you think are the lowest amount the following coins will hit this year.

Let's talk about the top 3 Major altcoins.

1- Ethereum
2 -XRP
3- DOT

Also, you can include your prediction on bitcoin's lowest amount this year if you think that altcoins movement are significantly related to bitcoin.

I don't think we will see a significant drop in cryptocurrencies this year, on the contrary, I believe that 2021 will be a year of growth. At the moment, we are already seeing how BTC and altcoins have shown new highs. ETH and DOT have already made their upward push and hit a high price. As for XRP, this is a dark horse at the moment, but I would not write off this coin at the moment, but the likelihood of its growth is slim. As for the price minimums, they probably will not be in this year 2021, in any case, this comes from the cyclical history of the development of the crypto market and 2021, the last year of the next cycle, and as history shows, every last year of the cycle, the cryptocurrency makes new maximums of its price.
2100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When will the Ethereum Gas Fee go down? on: February 08, 2021, 04:12:08 PM
It's so difficult to make a single transactions now under Ethereum blockchain. A very high gas fees are killing small investors and traders. But miners would love to see gas fees going to the moon because they benefited from it. However, this is not good for Ethereum in the long run, their users/consumers are suffering but their miners are enjoying this high gas fees.
Also, Ethereum competitors will surely grab this high gas fees opportunity. It's not good.
When will the Ethereum gas fee go down? Anyone knows?

The situation with the commission on ETH is really alarming and makes the use of ETH and ERC20 tokens unprofitable for ordinary investors and users. A few days ago I watched a video in which one of the manners said that it is planned to increase the volume of the block, which may temporarily make the commissions lower, but after the commissions they will become large again. I don't know if this makes sense, but probably now we are seeing a very large number of transactions in the ETH network of large companies and funds, perhaps when they buy the required amount of crypto assets, the price of commissions on the ETH network will decline, but if so, then again nobody knows when this will happen.
