2081  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Setting up CPU mining on: September 09, 2019, 11:21:01 PM
I have successfully completed trying the process for mining with single CPU. It was more easy than I thought. Mining through a pool is a better option certainly, however, I'm not still thinking about it financially. So, I will try registering in a pool and check if I can connect.
I'm now trying to connect more CPU with mine, which is probably solo mining. Which one is better in term of profitability? Pool mining or solo mining (4/5 CPU).

Also, do not fall for those "Browser Mining" that pays a few (BTC) satoshi, those aren't Bitcoin mining.
Almost all miners have a false-positive result from AVs, it's up to you to trust them (add an exception if you have one).
Thank you for the suggestion. I'm not going to fall into this, I guess these are a trap for newbie searching for earning online with low effort. I'm advance newbie  Cheesy

I was probably looking for this. Great resource for me. I may have a try with a good new one.
2082  Economy / Reputation / Re: [self-moderated] Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source on: September 09, 2019, 11:47:52 AM
Like this?
No, I am looking for how much merit is given out by merit source each month, how much those given merits are being utilised and how much has been hoarded.

Anyway, here are some stats from this thread-

Self Post Reported- 112 posts, 49 times
Other user's post reported- 175 posts, 71 times, ETFBitcoin has posted much.
Posts didn't get merit- 63 posts
Profiles reported- 6 profiles, 5 times
One post is off-limit, probably deleted.

My initial thought was users were reporting their self-posts but it turned that still, users are trying to post other user's post which is a good sign that users are producing less qualitative content than they must be.

PS- I have reported my posts 2 times.
2083  Economy / Reputation / Re: [self-moderated] Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source on: September 09, 2019, 10:30:00 AM
This thread title is Report unmerited good posts,
An ulterior motive for creating this thread was to point out unmerited good posts are extremely rare. Since most of the posts reported here have Merit already, and there's on average less than one report per day, I think it's (once again) obvious there's a larger shortage on good posts than on Merit.
Probably true although I guess a lot of users don't know about the existence of this thread or most users have enough smerits to hand out, if they don't have, they simply avoid it or they are lazy enough to post the link here. Only a few people have posted other people's thread/post in this thread. Most of the threads are from the thread owners (I myself had posted once, probably).
Another reason can be merit in circulation. I have seen some stats on merit but not probably on merit in circulation. If there was one, it may indicate how much an increase/decrease in circulation is going on each month.
2084  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: I think I should investigate KuCoin on: September 09, 2019, 07:09:19 AM
I used KuCoin quite a bit from late 2017 to 2018.  They are certainly a bit sketchy, I faced an issue with a delayed deposit of $TOMO and customer service was unable to give me any answers except 'wait'.  stopped trading there subsequently.
This is the first time I have observed a complain against Kucoin. However, I have not used Kucoin many times, it was 4/5 times probably for exchanging ETH into BTC. Their user interface is nice, prompt and user friendly. Faced no problem.
2085  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ | Up to 0.0375 BTC/w on: September 09, 2019, 05:55:34 AM
Is there an available slot for hero, glad to join the campaign.
You might have been interested to see the following quotes. But sorry to say that this campaign has no specific slot for Hero member. It's for only Sr Member+ rank users  Cheesy Check back next week and get your slot reserved.

Should have 2-4 slots open next weekend. Keep an eye out if you're interested in joining.
2086  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Bitcoin 'successfully' transferred to an invalid bitcoin address on: September 09, 2019, 05:47:01 AM
I wouldn't be surprised if people behind Electrum were behind this scam.
The above statement by bob123 is enough to prove that no one other than a random hacker and you are responsible for the loss. Hacking isn't a new issue, not in cryptocurrency environment but all over the internet. Only your awareness can save you from being a target of the hacker.
As far as I know, there's no pop-up is displayed if electrum released a new version, you have to download it manually. You are probably using electrum before me, you must have known about this issue.
I would like to alert you on another issue, copy-paste malware, it can change your copied address into the hackers and thus you will send in hacker's address instead of yours. Don't bother checking the address before releasing the coin.

[DISCUSSION] Candidate for the next Merit Source.
Description : To discussed if we still need another merit source.
Category : Discussion
Section : Local Board - Philippines
Just checked the link and seen this post has got ~35 merits. I think your thread got enough merits.
This thread title is Report unmerited good posts, I guess this thread doesn't fit the criteria since it got enough merit. You can post unmerited post here.
Sorry if it anyhow hurts you but you must be trying to be fair reporting unmerited posts or posts with minimum merits.
2088  Economy / Reputation / Re: Krishnendu Chatterjee: expensive scams of Ph.D. on: September 09, 2019, 04:01:57 AM
Allforcrypto project aka ebay version of crypto (if I understood correctly) doesn't require a startup funding or fund raising campaign. We already have one namely mooning market from an user namely Oskii.

Lol, his name suggests he's from my state and country, not Taiwan.
Same impression here. I thought hell another Indian scammer.
2089  Economy / Services / Re: Help requested for Buying several services on Fiverr on: September 09, 2019, 03:50:14 AM
why would you buy your own gigs? are you doing this to get fake reviews?

You probably getting him wrong, he isn't looking for fake reviews. He is trying to get something purchased by others since he don't have a card. He will pay $30 extra worth of bitcoin for the service.

OP, what are you going to buy? Depending on that, I may consider paying for you. I have profile created on fiverr since you know I'm an article writer. You can PM me as well but would better to have here.

Like as pooya87 said, please share which wallet you are using. That would certainly help us to share an answer.
Can it be the reason of not using coin control in previous transaction. The change address is random in electrum, that's why the transaction has gone from another address.
2092  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: September 09, 2019, 02:33:05 AM
Overton and Leach managed to survive for 10-15 overs against the raw pace of Hazlewood, Cummins and Starc (who was wayward at times).
Don't forget that Leach hit century? (probably not, afaik it was 92) in the first match. Therefore, I would say it was lucky Australia yesterday, otherwise, match would have been a drawn. I was surprised by Overton, he struggled 105 balls alone.
If this match was a drawn, the 5th would be another piece of final, but now it has turned into a win for England but a drawn is sufficient for Australian.

The third test was not a devastating defeat for Australia and England won by one wicket to spare chasing a big total
It was a miracle, no one expected England can win this match. In test, such almost impossible match barely be chased. I can't remember when I last time saw such a chase.
2093  Local / Press & News from India / Re: Bitcoin scam kingpin who conned $67.6 million tortured to death by associates on: September 09, 2019, 02:21:22 AM
Though this guy seems to have gotten his wealth by perpetrating a scam on his "investors".
I guess logo ko ye scam scam nehi karna chahiye. True that he scammed all the money, but that should not be punished by his partners, at least not such death level extortion. Kya mila? Kuch nehi. They got into trouble. Paisa to nehi mila. They could simple complain in the police station, although that couldn't let them get their part of bitcoin back, but they wouldn't be a killer.
2094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Setting up CPU mining on: September 09, 2019, 02:05:55 AM
Noob miner here, trying to mine with CPU. They say it's not profitable anymore, but I have to learn the process for the sake of learning. I believe it will help me learn something new.
So far, this is what I have got after researching a bit.
I have to have downloaded the wallet software and miner.exe and run it. It will automatically do the rest of the job.
Is that okay? Is it better to run mining software alone or participate in a mining pool?
Pardon me, if I were not a child here, I would ask a little bit advance question.
2095  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: POLYX Exchange Unfair Bounty Campaign on: September 09, 2019, 01:53:09 AM
I would have promote this POLYX but I didn't even I wasn't wearing any signature. Campaign manager wasn't a reputed one, the fund wasn't escrowed. This kind of attitude was expected in such a campaign. It's always better to promote project which escrow fund and hire a reputed campaign manager.

Polyx admin force people to remove their comment on bitcointalk to get their reward:

It's really stupid behavior from an admin. There's no more doubt that their service will be worst. DT must come forward and tag this user to prevent potential future issue. I have tagged.
2096  Other / Archival / Re: tranthidung - Signature campaign management service on: September 04, 2019, 09:59:02 AM
Those reputable managers all came from scratch, so why not me can do the same?

That's correct. Just make sure you understand that some did most probably start with altcoins' bounty services and were not paid in Bitcoin.
And here's what I want to tell you: if you'll accept such jobs, please double check and triples check, making sure you don't go for scams.
Even getting an altcoin campaign is hard as well. Most of the projects manage their bounty by themselves or hire experience one. No one wants to hire a manager with 0 portfolio. I'm trying to get bounty management as well  Cheesy Everyone ask have you ever managed bounty? Me- No. And they directly say sorry.
There's nothing much you can do other than waiting for luck. I wish your luck assist you getting your first project  Cheesy
2097  Economy / Economics / Re: Indian Economy rising at slowest pace - Should they consider Crypto-currency? on: September 04, 2019, 09:49:02 AM
If it can have the effect through influx money from gambling, trading or any other way, it can efflux as well. Economic growth is beyond the currency. If govt can't have a growth with fiat, I doubt they will be able to do it with crypto as well. Cryptocurrency will allow its people to have financial freedom which may lead to disaster as well. Subcontinental countries are mostly corrupted, the whole world is though.
In case, cryptocurrency become legal and people start to use it, a significant inflation will occur as well as a significant financial crisis. As a result, it will hamper the economic growth of India.
2098  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: September 04, 2019, 01:35:03 AM
Ajinkya is not bad batsmen per se. Virat didn't use him according to his potential and keeping him in-out from the team all the time (Ex south Africa tour). This kind of uncertainty should not be allowed in the team when it comes to any solid Test Batsmen. Guess he needs some tattoo on the arm just like KL Rahul  Grin
Ajinkya is quite a bit unlucky like Dinesh Kartik. He used to perform regularly but didn't get selected due to Dhoni, if Dhoni for some reason got out of the team, it's Kartik's day.
Ajinkya in West Indies tour

1st test
1st innings- 81
2nd innings- 102

2nd test
1st innings- 24
2nd innings- 64

With this outstanding performance, he will be kept outside from the team. I guess there's no much politics going on Indian team.
