... c) less anonymous - for example, I wouldn't use my main google account for any of bitcoin services.

So you would like a centralized but anonymous service?
20922  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Login/User Management PHP library? on: September 14, 2011, 04:02:27 PM
Guildminers uses IPB Forum Software to handle user login and management.  It's mature, fully featured and compatible (via cookies) with our frontend - it also allows login via Facebook, Twitter and OpenID.

Of course, the largest open source login system is OpenID (http://openid.net/) but I'm not sure if it has any management system - it would probably need to be tied into your system.

Thanks Clown Coin. Im running on two hours of sleep. This 5 hour energy crap is a lie. I feel like someone just slap me in the face with a box of Hot Pockets after drinking it.
 Undecided

Interesting.  I get the same reaction after drinking "Amp" or other energy drinks.  They make me want to sleep right after.

I wonder if these type of photographs can be found on ancestry.com?   "Look, MY grandmother was a racist!"

I'm a bitcoin developer.  I may be white, but my name is black.
20925  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoinica - 15169.57 BTC Traded in the last 24 hours on: September 12, 2011, 03:13:14 PM
We have no reason to make up the numbers ourselves.

You don't?  Do you realize if no one is trading on your exchange, it will not attract new users?

If you make up large numbers it would encourage others to join and trade, as an alternative to MTGox.

What is your directory website? Is it like a list of Bitcoin business's ?

A directory of all bitcoin websites, yes.  I'm just populating it now - it's not yet launched to the public.

"Third Largest", especially in volume traded, really doesn't mean much.  Two or more of the owners could set up accounts and move bitcoins back and forth, commission free.
20928  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Bitcoin Store BTC-RUNNER on: September 12, 2011, 01:47:32 PM
Ray, what is your last name?  I'll add you to our directory.

How can a 17 year old incorporate a company?
20930  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Is my money safe at Mt. Gox on: September 11, 2011, 01:24:21 PM
Of course your money isn't safe. If they ran away with your money what would you do? Nothing. Look what happened with mybitcoin. They ran away with 50%, bitcoiners just bitched and did nothing.

Very true.

You get what you pay for.  The best forum software is IPB.

P.S.  Welcome back Smiley
20932  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ebay style trading site, BTC only, svn/git hosted source on: September 09, 2011, 07:34:29 PM
Would this trading site convert bitcoins to the market value?
20933  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ownership vs Possession of bitcoins on: September 09, 2011, 06:47:24 PM
Unless you want to start having the government decide who owns what bitcoins at will, it's best to stick with possession determining this.

So, mtgox owns 500,000 btc?

Doesn't it make you wonder when they are going to announce another hack and shutdown like mybitcoin did?   Undecided
20934  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paranoia will destoy ya' on: September 09, 2011, 06:44:23 PM
I couldn't agree more. Seems everyone's responses to each other attacks the other person's mental ability  Cry    probably will happen to me now ...haha...

Most of the people in this forum have above average intelligence.  We're used to putting up with stupidity and our first reaction is to assume the other person is wrong?

Just a guess.
20935  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Monopoly on: September 09, 2011, 03:53:27 PM
Continuation of https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=40934.msg516136#msg516136

Discuss ideas for a Bitcoin Monopoly game information and perhaps additionally someone (or several someones) can take initiative in contacting Hasbro with effort in helping to make Bitcoin Monopoly a reality.

Don't contact Hasbro - change the name to Bitopoly and you don't need to.  There are many legal Monopoly ripoffs already.

20937  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: GuildMiners - you make MORE than 100% of your mining! on: September 09, 2011, 10:03:10 AM
Ok, I talked it over with my partner and we decided to adjust the fee until further notice to help us test and grow.

Our fee is now at -2%  We will pay out 51btc coins for every block solved, and pay our referral bonuses based on that amount.  Smiley

We had bitcoins reserved for testing purposes, and this is a better way to spend them than offering some heavy miners a bonus to help us test.  If you've already done some mining with us, you'll see your rewards adjusted automatically as soon as you submit your next share.

Thanks!

Martin
20938  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: GuildMiners - you make MORE than 100% of your mining! on: September 09, 2011, 09:53:13 AM
Right now your biggest problem is attracting users to earn hashrate. At 600 MHash it will take you months to get a block. You need a few GHashes to get started.

I know!   Wink  That is why we prematurely posted on here (before we launched our client) to get some help from the community.

Why aren't YOU helping?  lol  Would it help if we lowered the fee to 0% until official launch?  I have no problem doing that.
20939  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biggest sell signal if we go under 5.70-5.80 level on: September 09, 2011, 09:01:42 AM
but they are fighting all the greedy miners that are selling their coins at the exchanges

Where would you get your coins to buy and sell without us greedy miners?   Tongue

Let me see, we have already 7 + million coins in the Bitcoin Economy. We need miners that believe in the Bitcoin Economy long term, not greedy miners that hit the exchanges with sell orders asap.

As compared to the greedy buyers and sellers, or the greedy hoarders?

I wouldn't have spent so much of my time developing my system if I wasn't in it for the long term.  Smiley
