20941  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What fan speed is better? on: March 03, 2018, 01:21:58 AM
.

if you are nvidia tdp of 75% and fan speed of 75%  is pretty much bullet proof. on msi afterburner

Setting fans at 100% kills them faster

I don't use windows as I have lots of rigs  I use smos

I set a minimum fan speed at 60%  and smos adjusts.

I set gpu temp max to 69c  and smos adjusts.

I set tdp to 75 or 80%

I use mostly nvidia 1080ti's

Well I asked you or anyone else to pm me an offer.  Your zip code is close to me  so I can send it cheaply.

Please  let me see if I get a better offer as 800 is fairly good offer. I will post back  on Sat the 3rd.

20944  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any suggestions on building quiet moderately priced rig? on: March 02, 2018, 09:00:32 PM
This is not the moment to buy hardware

Buying 1080ti's at 1000 usd is now common and it puts the buyer 300 usd in the hole  as the cards are worth 700.

I would argue the op can not achieve his goal  due to markups in card prices.

this card in the link would work at the listed price of 600

http://www.corsair.com/en-us/hydro-gfx-gtx-1080-liquid-cooled-graphics-card

3 year warranty  will do 550 sols  2 of them will do 1100 sols and not be loud

he could build a rig for 600 + 600 = 1200 + 200 = 1400

it would earn 5 to 7 usd a day and roi in 200-280 days  fully warrantied for 3 years that is decent price.

but those cards are selling for 800 to 900 not 600

Yes, I agree
Here in Brazil 1080ti is USD 1250 at the moment
RX 580 is USD 560

In the past I always buy and sell like you, but I can't find any GPU at good price since December 2017

I was able to get 6 of these at 805 usd in Early Jan  like the 3rd or 4th  direct from corsair

http://www.corsair.com/en-us/hydro-gfx-gtx-1080-ti-liquid-cooled-graphics-card

along with 2 of these at 360 usd

http://www.corsair.com/en-us/ax1500i-digital-atx-power-supply-1500-watt-fully-modular-psu

One other good deal was this at 299 usd on christmas day

http://www.diamondmultimediastore.com/diamond-amd-rx580-video-card

I ordered a second one on Jan 7 for 399   which = 2 for 700  after that  no deals anywhere  or anyplace.

I sold  20,000 usd in cards in Jan and Feb.  I paid about 17,000  and mined maybe 3,000 or 4,000 usd with them.

So about 7000 usd in profit.
I am offloading every aircool card I have.
I want quiet gear.

I am down to these:
http://www.corsair.com/en-us/hydro-gfx-gtx-1080-ti-liquid-cooled-graphics-card#
https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=11G-P4-6598-KR

and 3 of these

http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/omen-desktop-pc-880-150t-2tb60av-1

the 1080ti's are all very good plus quiet.
20945  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Power Mystery on: March 02, 2018, 08:18:45 PM
I’m having fits getting my overclocking settings to load properly on a boot, but that’s for another thread. So yesterday I finally got my rig all dialed in (2 1080ti, 2 1080, 1 1070, 3 1060, 2 580, 1 570) and my power meter says I’m pulling roughly 660 watts from each supply (2 supplies). That got me comfortable enough to order the 12 card today. I check my power meters from time to time as a check to make sure I’m mining. I just checked them and I was pulling 950 Watts per PS! So I remote logged in to the computer and checked the overclock settings. Opened Afterburn from the tray for the nVidias, all checked out fine. Open Sapphire Trixx for the ATIs, all checked fine. Reopened the power monitor and low and behold I’m back down to 660 per PS. The ATIs were the ones causing me power issues, so my hypothesis is that Trixx needs to stay open?

could you make that rig more complex?

11 cards
amd and nvidia

and at least 6 different models

2 different oc softwares

2 different psu's

 good luck with it .

let me give you a little advice  Msi Afterburner has a monitor page  on it is a sample timer.

Since you have 4 nvidia models and 8 cards it needs to sample 8 x 16 x 60 = 7680 plus for just your nvidia cards.

I get the 60  from the time setting of 1000 micro seconds.  or 1 second or 60 times per minute  you do not need to sample that often.  set to 12000  = 12 seconds

so 8 x 16 x 5 = 640 things a minute.

this will lighten your cpu load a lot.

your idea of trixx needing to be open may also help

if you want a photo or two if the msi setting let me know

20947  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1 8gb rx580 earnings = 2 T/Hs ASIC earnings in btc on: March 02, 2018, 06:29:51 PM
So phillipma57 who seems pretty smart said on another thread that gpus were more profitable. I thought that sounded kind of crazy, but I'm a noob, so I didn't say anything. That was probably about a month ago. A couple of days ago I was undecided what to do with my gpus after the zclassic snapshot, I had been on the donate pool for feb, so I put it on nicehash while I thought it over. I had never put my gpus there, but I was suprised at my earnings. I'm getting .0006688 a day on  four 8gb rx580s. That means each card is getting .0001672 btc per day.
My ASICs are doing about .00008361 per T/Hs per day. So multiply that by 2, and 2 T/Hs on my ASICs is .00016722 per day.

1 8gb 580 = .00016720
2 T/Hs ASIC = .00016722

I was way suprised. My 4 580s are earning the equivalent of 8 T/Hs on nh. I guess I just assumed that since you couldn't mine bitcoin with gpus anymore, that was that. So I'm not mining btc. But I still get it. That works. I'm adding the equivalent of 8 T/Hs to my small operation. I have to reconsider now my plan to expand my ASICs. This is giving me a lot to think about.

Most likely they will move this to alt coins.

As to asic vs gpu.

Gpus three year warranties from real companies make them very attractive

20949  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Used Gpus temps questions on: March 02, 2018, 04:59:18 PM
Hi

Recently i bought some used gpus, and the guy who selled them to me, used a wrong  modded bios version "from the internet",

I checked the original bios and the modded one, and they have diferente memory on bios (LOL), the original bios have samsung and hinyx chips, and the moded only have Hinyx.

Some of them o modded the original bios  and reflashed and they are working fine(even in dual mining), but some of them are running really hot 80+ on solo eth mining.

Question 1

There is any chance of the hot ones have some kind of damage on board caused by wrong bios flash (and mining for about 4 months with wrong bios)?

Question 2

Gpu running hot (80+) can reduce the lifespan of thermal paste or thermalpads on the board and make these units run hot for this reason?

thanks

well  maybe, but lots of info missing here so I can't tell you for sure

20951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Strange hardware issue - half my rig crashing? on: March 02, 2018, 03:25:57 PM
I don't think that's going to happen. I like the flexibility/familiarity of W10. It's been stable up until recently.

but thanks for the suggestion

good luck with it .

you could replace the riser you mentioned pretty cheap fix if it works
20952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Strange hardware issue - half my rig crashing? on: March 02, 2018, 03:22:19 PM
yeah win10  drops clocks

try smos simplemining.net

use a decent usb stick  and 2 bucks a month

for 1 rig.

his clocks stay put as it is linux based. not win 10 based.

set watts for  about 650-750 a psu

I think you are dropping clocks  and the watts max  on the second psu   4x 580 + 2x 560 maxed will overload the psu
20953  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Selling gpu miner 18x nvidia gtx 1060 6gb on: March 02, 2018, 03:17:43 PM
I am selling my kining rig.
I have 3 rigs with all nvidia 1060 6gb (modded).
total 18 x nvidia gpu
Power usage is 1450 watt.
The cards have no display ports whatsoever.
Yhey are factory modded for the best hash/watt rate.
I get about 420 mh/s at ethash
5100 h/s at equihash
Those are the only 2 algo's i mined.
I live in the netherlands.
If interested send me a pm.

wrong section to post

20954  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: March 02, 2018, 03:16:37 PM
I would've really liked if Halong would've been more open so far.

They said that they will be a better option than Bitmain.

Instead they are even more closed than Bitmain when it comes to the information available.

So it's not much of an improvement in my opinion.

Since it was after the Chinese New years I contacted Yoshi he has promised to ship a unit out in march then 4 more later so I am hopeful .  I have not paid anything in as he told me I could pay with cc or paypal when item is ready to ship.

I feel for those that ordered in Nov 2017 has to be a long wait for them.

Are they transparent no so far not true.

I Hope that it works as advertised.
I hope it ships on time
I will get back with more info when yoshi ships one to me.
20955  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any suggestions on building quiet moderately priced rig? on: March 02, 2018, 02:08:04 PM
RIG never quiet except your RIG idle. besides that, RIG produces heat temperature will influence your bedroom temperature. and The current GPU price is terrible.

rigs can be made quietly.

Evga  1080ti hybrid  are quiet, but  cost $$$.

20956  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any suggestions on building quiet moderately priced rig? on: March 02, 2018, 12:11:51 PM
How can I build a rig that’s quiet so I can put it in bedroom without spending lots for liquid cooling? Like is it much louder if I use 2 evga G3 750w psu rather than 1 evga 1600w? Also are blower type cards more quiet than cards with 3 fans?

quiet rigs  and low priced =  hard to do

hey did anyone hold trx it seems to be doing well

Just sold off 25% of my holding in TRX at Binance at 21% bump up - not bad for todays work. Thanks Bittrex for getting TRX on board.
Expect more volume for TRX, and best to get some of this while its under 10 cents.

good  I have small amount  1300 of them

I made a bit.

BTC has shifted over 11,000

After selling a lot of gear.  I find myself  holding a decent amount of btc.

I am hoping to sell some of it to pay for the Kia Forte 2018 I purchased yesterday.

Last 4-5 months have been good to me.

I almost have sold every card except the hybrids.

I am getting this beast on tues it ships tomorrow.
I now have the  space and power for it in the garage.

20960  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Octominer vs Onda B250 on: March 01, 2018, 10:52:15 PM
Wow thank you both guys for the useful info right here!

Do you think I can order only one board from that alibaba link for testing? Because it says minimum order quantity 10.

Also can I fit a Sapphire 580 Pulse on the slot which is blocked by the ATX connector?

I guess the Onda B250 is much more affordable in my situation then.

the zotac 1080ti mini fits let me check its length

pulse = 230mm

zotac = 219 mm

I will say  the zotac has 25mm room

so the pulse at 230 would fit.

I think any card under 235mm fits
