I would normally agree with you
But this last dump then jump may have been the work of the satoshi dice buy out
First there was a 150000btc buy which dropped the price to 67
Followed by whales that bumped the price to 90ish which is th3 buy out price of satoshi dice

May just be coincidence

someone just needs to create a new cryptocoin that will give rewards so that there is a 4% inflation indefinatly....

problem solved

Good info, thanks for the update terrahash.

What's needed to cool the board at 275-300?

Right now I am using an old AMD processor fan/heatsink. I applied some heatsink paste, however, the board is not screwed to the heatsink, its just placed on top of it. Its working!

how about those refunds amir!
ahhh ignore function

Dont know why I didnt so this earlier

Looks like a million chips just got shipped
2106  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: July 10, 2013, 03:21:26 PM
Issue with PayPal has been resolved. We have access to the funds now.

About the refund policy, it was changed way before the orders were taken. We believe most of the refund claims being made now are because of the falling USD/BTC prices. The "item not received" claims being made on PayPal are deceiving and misleading, as everyone who placed an order knew that products would be delivered within two weeks of the delivery of the Avalon chips. This was also written on individual product pages. Some people are abusing the PayPal refund process by making false claims. Any how, we will be refunding all those orders now as a few people have showed interest in buying those cancelled orders. However, we are doing this as an exception and our refund policy is still the same.

We again stress that everything is going on-track, and we will deliver all the orders within the promised time-frame.

Terrahash,

Please confirm that you plan to place these "purchased cancelled orders" at the end of the que.  It would be a very poor business practice to allow people to come in and purchase the cancelled/refunded orders including the spot in the que.

Also PROOF OF THE ADDITIONAL AVALON ORDERS is critical at this point.  I would say even more so than proof of a hashing board.  Please provide screenshots for all 4 orders.

knightlife999,

Please ask to see verification of the 4 Avalon chip orders when you visit their facility.  Especially the 2 they most recently acquired.

Will do. I'm making a list of what we need to see and get proof of.

So far, I'm taking pics and video (I'll use my iPhone 5G) of the following:

Office location & Address
Facilities
Workroom(s)
Boards & chips
Case(s)
K16 board hashing (Might only have 2 chips on it, but we'll see)
4 Avalon bulk chip orders

Can anyone think of anything else?

(Thanks for giving me the benefit of the doubt MMNC. No worries.)

Wouldni it be best if TH just refunded everyone that wants out, and then opeened all there klondikes back up for sale.  Since avalaon chips have not arrived it shouldnt set them back on development.

also it would show there legitimacy, and they could put the no refund rule on all there second sells.

I understand they are worried at this point to lose their customers, because they do not have a huge profit margin to work with, but they must also see that they have enough followers to buy back all their lost customers very quickly without having any breach of contract problems.

P.S. hey terrahash if you have any orders looking for an out in btc id buy their contracts... would love the 30% discount to refund their btc at current levels
Now how the hec do you know what their profit margin is?...another assumption on your part...geez your dumber than I thought.
4.48 btc per 64 avalon chip
i payed about 7.75 chips per 64 which leaves
3.27 btc per klondike 64 chip or 261 bucks at 80usd/btc
so they make 625 klondike 64's
so that is 163 thousand bucks
take into account development and manufacturing costs and at the most this venture is gonna leave them with about 150k profit split between however many people are running this.

now lets just say there are 4 people behind terrahash and this whole adventure of theirs takes them 4 months to do, and somehow their entire overhead after avalon chips comes in at under 13000,"very unlikely"
each of the owners would still be making only 9300/month

sure its good money,  but its not great money
if they took all the hashing power they are creating and just mined, they would make more.
not to mention if they run into leal trouble they will be down to 0 bucks fast.

so breathe, relax, get out if you must.
or panic and buy somewhere else

Hey guys. I wanted to weigh in on the discussion. I have 35 K16s on order with Terrahash. I live in the Bay Area and work in SF. I'm planning on stopping by TH/s office to say hello and see how things are going. I am planning on giving a full report after I make the visit. I'm not worried. I bought through Paypal, and am satisfied that I have buyer protection. I have not called Terrahash in the past week, but every time I have called (3 times so far) they have answered the phone and given me satisfactory answers. They have also replied to my emails in the past. I think they are making a good faith effort to fulfill their obligations to us. I am not a shill, and I understand everyone's frustration. I think that with what we have been through in the waiting game with BFL and Avalon everyone is on edge. I have 1.3 TH/s of miners on order with BFL, Bitmine, Avalon, Terrahash, and KNC. It's been depressing (at times VERY depressing) to think of how long we have had to wait for our pre-orders. I'm going to be patient. They are only 30 minutes away from where I work. I have a good feeling that we will get our miners as promised in August. I'm not necessarily expecting anything miraculous out of BFL or Avalon before then. Maybe we'll get those orders or maybe they'll be pushed back to September or October. As for KNC, who knows. Maybe we'll get the most awesome miners in the world to date, or maybe not. All of these purchases are a risk related investment. That's why I spread my funds between 5 companies. I still feel that Terrahash will very likely get our products to us before the other companies. Let them work and get our boards ready. I'll keep you guys posted regarding my upcoming visit.

I'd be happy to kick in a few bucks for gas so you can make these trips
ill donate  to your trip as well

They have been to quiet for too long, I am now mostly convinced they are a scam, Perhaps they did not start out that way, but there has been too many red flags to persuade me otherwise.
they just made updates a day or two ago ?
on friday,

this forum is getting a little too jumpy for me, time to create a new thread

if you had been watching bkkcoins earlier threads you would know that there were a few flaws with the original board that he had to manually fix, he revised the board design for others to order a week or so ago.

and we should have all known that the first board populated with chips was just a pr ploy, because the firmware had not been tested at that point.

orderring new boards will enhance their speed of assembly.
luckilly most of the firmware has been tested by bkkcoins already so TH should be able to follow the opensource thread, and get it hashing quickly
now all we need is a good cgminer driver, and a bunch of luck.

Thanks for the update TH

If KnC is able to deliver in Sept/Oct timeframe, given their much less expensive per GH pricepoint, it might be a toss-up for ROI compared to TH machine delivered in August.
if you thought they would deliver by september you would have ordered through knc.
I plan on taking any profits that i make on terrahash to do just that though
2113  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: July 02, 2013, 07:53:23 PM
I am not a terrahash defender, and i have had two conversations with terrahash via phone and 2 via email.

from what i can tell, they are just a small company trying to get things done with little resources.  So they dont have the energy to deal with there costumers, which I must say makes me nervous because i have money invested, and i dont like high risk.

What i like about terrahash is the same thing that made you all buy in, they offered us a service faster and cheaper than anyone else promised.

yes there are people posting that they can make you boards for similar prices, but they are still taking orders for chips that have not been ordered yet.
terrahash had chips ordered, they said they had the ability to create k16's once the chips got there, and they said they would host those boards at a fair price.

so all of us chose terrahash because it gave us the chance to get into the avalon chip race without too much effort or know how.

If you wanted a large multimillion dollar business to build you ready to mine units in a pretty package you could have gone with bfl or knc, but if you had orderred on june 18th your delivery date would have been september at the earliest

you could have built your own k16, but wait. You have no chips, and would have to either save up 70000 dollars, or join a group buy, which would have to be shipped twice, and then sent to a manufacturer..... september deliver at best

So all of us here took the middle road hoping it would pan out...

To Terrahash, If you are trying your best to meet your goals, please take all our comments with a grain of salt, we your consumers will be watching our investment get less ROI the longer you take, and when money is at stake we all get a little jumpy.

PLEASE send us some sort of an update every once and a while, a picture, some info, a smiley face, whatever you want, or dont, im committed either way and the more people that drop out the closer i get to the front of the line

LOl, everyones just excited and anxious, thats all. Human nature..... sorta like waiting for Santa Claus Smiley
yep.. we have to remember that even though we payed around 8 btc per board and they collected enough for 40000 chips
they only collected 5000 btc or $450000 at 90 bucks a btc.... there chips cost 3048 btc or $274320 alone
so they only had 175680 dollars to buy all the other parts, pay for there shop, and equipment, and to generate some kind of income through manufacturing

.... sure hope they have a plan for the asic 2.0 to cover some of that overhead

i was just checking through the terrahash block chain and saw some good signs

they seem to have made orders for 20000 chips on june 20th and 10000 more on the on the ""22nd"" I think anyways they have one send of for 1564 and one for 782 which is the amount it costs for a batch buy
2116  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will be bitcoin price in one month ? on: July 02, 2013, 02:51:00 PM
well that is the million dollar question

does anyone have a chart that shows the increase in downloaded bitcoin clients, as well as the total monthly useage of bitcoins that we could use to speculate the price, without constantly looking at the april to july bubble in price

im guessing there is some linear value increase that i could put my money behind that shows btc at about 65-85 dollars
2117  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 26, 2013, 08:38:02 PM
And to all other folks. We are very very busy and have very limited resources. Everybody is out today making arrangements, getting new boards printed, visiting the enclosure manufacturer to see which other material we can use instead of aluminum for the brackets (as the ones we received two days ago are very weak), setting up the assembly line for the new circuit board etc. etc. Please be patient, all your queries will be replied to.

cheers, thanks for the update
2118  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 26, 2013, 05:00:38 PM
Well thats strange.

I just called terrahash to find out if my order would have enough chips for it, and to ask about when the second 10000 chips were orderred, and i got a reply saying that they had no answerring service set up.

It is strange because when i called them last week there was an answerring service set up.

..... crossing fingers .... knocking on wood ..... staying away from ladders
trying not to get anxious
2119  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 26, 2013, 02:51:41 PM
so they answer selective on tickets ... that is much more scaring ...

does anyone that did a bank wire has had his order status updated?

My suggestion is that the answer all tickets concerning paypal & credit card transaction ...

no need to answer btc or bank wire transaction as ... the money is already in there pocket ...

no more customer convincement needed ... the next step in this prediction would be to refund

all paypal and tell us .... "We can hold queue spots only for those that pay with BTC or bank

wire. Credit card is supported but will let you loose the spot."

and voila all Customer/Purchase Protection ... bye bye :-) scam incoming?!

my wires cleared late last night sometime.. so hope one of my orders will change status today.
not ready to call this a scam yet though.

This whole ordeal is so disappointing. I had such high hopes that maybe they were different or were going to do things a little better than the rest. What ever happened to having a good business model first? Now they are winging it with everyones money.  Undecided

Their pricing system does not change the status whenever your payment has cleared. My payment cleared and all I had to do was give TH a quick call and sey "Hey, did you revive the payment for this order ID?" He asked a few questions like bank account holder and said "Yep! Ill change that order status now." and he did. Immidiately. Just give him a call and stop complaining Smiley

Im sure faced with refunding all paypal orders, Th will continue to take wire transfers as long as they can to help cusion the blow with paypal if it should come to that,,,,and they also know that many probably will not pay again with CC. So getting all the wire money and BTC they can is even more important now I would think.

that makes sense, but i still wish TH would be more open about what is going on.
I would still like to see the  order and expected shipping dates of the three avalon orders, as well as see them actively participating with bkkcoins over development.
