flex in prices affect you.

say diff is flat

you are converting the zec to btc

simple math  1 zec a day in earning = .1 btc

zec price stays flat
zec diff stays flat

but btc moves from 9000 to 10000 usd

since all was flat  except btc

2 days ago .1 btc was 900
now  .1 btc is 1000

since all was flat  you ultimate number of btc drops  to about 0.09

and in both cases you earn the same in usd 900

this is kind of what happens  if btc price moves up quicker then zec price

They have yet to refund my BTC from a cancelled order.   This is exactly what happened to me at HashFast.  First promises, then no response.   Ahhhhh:-(  Well, this time it was only 0.298 BTC and not 33 BTC.   https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/address/1G3bzKHfwaaKQMjewN7Q7Prp3jRwq7XSB4

Thanks

So mine something like ZCL, BTG, ZEC, ZEN, HUSH With these cards?
So its better for me to mine Ethereum on AMD Setup then nvidia?

I really just wanna mine ethereum over other alt coins, Any recommendations on what to mine to hold ZCL, BTG, ZEC, ZEN, HUSH?

That is a really good deal.

If you really want to have ethereum and don't care what you mine. Go to MiningPoolHub and start mining an Eqihash coin but have them do payouts in Ethereum. There is a fee to have it converted but it's not that bad. That way you can mine an optimal coin and get paid the ethereum you want.

At op this man has it right

We did twist a bit off track.  But I have my reply from Yoshi

and here is a followup

with 'photos'

I personally think this was an advertising method and if you look at the thread  it has lots of info and post and interest.

I will get a single unit early to mid march  then the 4 others late march to early april

As to whether it is good gear. ?
as to on time shipping. ?
as to bitmain selling an 18th-20th at 1200 watts ?
but I am looking forward to this in about 25 days
21146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PSU not powerful enough or am I just stupid? on: February 16, 2018, 12:44:19 PM
Hi,

My PSU don't seem to be able to hold the power on the label. When I put some wattage in them they STOP.

Test 1: 460W Platinum PSU.
- 1x Nano at 200W : OK
- 2x Nano at 400W: immediate stop of the PSU

Test 2: 750W Gold
- 2x Nano at 400W: OK
- 3x Nano at 600W: immediate stop the of the PSU after 5 seconds

Watts measured at the wall plug. Running with a Celeron G3930, idle power consumption 20W (included in the data above)

Setup: all GPUs on risers. Each riser is powered by an individual Molex cable or individual PCI-e 6 pin cable.

Question: what's happening? I tried changing risers and this did not fix the problem.
Thanks

make and model of psus  please
21147  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9: Am I Better Off Using a Step Up Transformer or 2 PSUs? on: February 16, 2018, 04:54:34 AM
I'm looking to set up an S9 in my house with only normal (for the US anyway) 110v outlets.  I rent the house, so getting a 220v outlet put in isn't a realistic option.  Right now, I currently have two APW3++ Bitmain power supplies.  My question is if I am better off selling one APW3++ and buying a 2000W step up transformer like the one I've linked to below, of if I should use one APW3++ to power two of the hash boards and the other to power the third hash board and the controller, each on separate 15 amp circuits?  If I went with the step up transformer, it would be on a dedicated 15 amp circuit.  Would I risk damaging the miner by using two power supplies as long as each hash board only is attached to one power supply?  Also, how much efficiency would I lose by using a step up transformer if I went that route?  I tried googling for an answer about how people set these machines up with 110v outlets, but all I could find was people asking about using a single power supply or using two weaker power supplies that put out a lot less watts than an APW3++.  Any advice is appreciated.

https://www.amazon.com/Goldsource-STU-2000-Voltage-Transformer-Converter/dp/B0022U4J12/ref=pd_day0_23_3?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B0022U4J12&pd_rd_r=9VTW2PHBAZPD9XYAYWGT&pd_rd_w=wpxq6&pd_rd_wg=Dt8k2&psc=1&refRID=9VTW2PHBAZPD9XYAYWGT

last I read those don't work on 110/120 volt
21148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Happy New Years! Seventh alt coin thread! on: February 16, 2018, 04:13:06 AM
If anyone wants a good laugh, take a look at this auction for 4 MSI 470s and 1 480.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/MSI-RX-470-Gaming-X-4GB-Graphics-Card-GDDR5-Video-Card-4-gigabyte-Twin-Frozr-VI/222834582077?hash=item33e1f9e23d:g:2SMAAOSw57xafLA9#viTabs_0

Ok, aside from this joker asking $500 per GPU BIN price... check the description.  He claims to have bought these new but they only have 3 months of use on them. So, let's do the math... we all know that there have been zero new 470's on the market since June'17 at the very latest.  That was 8 months ago.  So, this guy expects people to believe that he has had some of the most profitable GPUs around over the past 1-2 years sitting idle for 5 months?  This is down right comical alone, not even talking about the fact that he claims to have not overclocked them.

Bottom line is that jokers like this are around and potentially thriving due to a lot of noob crypto miners outrageously over-paying for GPUs. I actually wouldn't be shocked if one of them snapped this up lol.  But i just hate seeing downright liars get over on anyone.

Yeah he is really overpriced.

A 1070 should be 10 to 15% markup it is 50 to 100%

Same with most every cards 10 to 15% you can justify.

50 to 100% is too high.

As I look at the lay of the land at this moment . I would sell

Everything and wait til fall to buy new gear.

Not going to be what I do.  Buysolar heats his house with electricity so I have to leave some gpus running.

I will move the two omen builds to his house to make up for the cards I sold yesterday and today.

So I need to figure power cap.

Once the omens leave I will have one seven card rig.
A smaller rx 580 rig in the garage. About 2kwatts.  Down from 6kwatts in dec.

The array will have 16 1080tis of mine down from 26.
No s-9 instead of 2 2/3 .

Buysolar will also reduce his load.

We have had a good run in dec and early Jan

NJ was freezing cold and coins were smoking hot.

We exceeded our free power cap 3x. Made a lot of coin and can now sell the cards with a markup.

Plus with the cold we could exceed the heat cap and not worry.

Those six weeks were very good to us.

The last three weeks we have wound down and have sold at fair markups. Lower then anyone unless you grab a five minute in stock card on Newegg or amazon.

I need to ship 2x 1080ti out to two different people. On fri.

I need to ship a 2/3 s-9

I need to get paid for 1x 1080 ti
I need to get paid for 1x s-9
21149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: leaving home with 5 gpu miners paranoid of fire safety on: February 15, 2018, 10:32:48 PM
sound nice, an option 4. you spend an additional budgeting for buying these parts, and maybe also the electricity bill increases because the AC keeps on alive.

in short a story, you go vacation and you always check the RIG on the web using a Mobile phone or Laptop in Airport, on Taxi, in a hotel or everywhere and every time you want. The atmosphere of 3 months of vacation becomes anxiety atmosphere. Although the holiday destination was for fun.

better choose option 5: You canceled the vacation

i will mostly ended up mining during night hours and early morning hours and off during day. For A/C looks like wi-fi wall with scheduler app available so can schedule it to urn 1-2 hours during evening to remove residual heat accumulated during day.
There is going to be unavoidable anxiety, so will probably make my final decision on the day before Smiley

buy some of these

they would be helpful  get the big one it is large and covers a lot of area
21150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Happy New Years! Seventh alt coin thread! on: February 15, 2018, 10:23:51 PM
Nice to see the market back up solidly over $450B most of the day today.  looks like BTC poised to go back over $10k and ETH back over $1k, maybe in the next day or 2. ZCL actually went through the roof last 2 days... back in the $165 range after being stuck under $100 since the correction. One thing I have noticed about this recovery is that most major coins are recovering better than the lower end ones. ETH is only about 30% below it's high but some other coins I hold like BURST, TRX and a few others are 60-75% below their highs.  I think it will be tough for a lot of these to get back close to those highs any time soon, in contrast to ETH or XMR or even maybe DASH, which I can totally see getting close or eclipsing in the next few months.  Luckily i did sell off some lower coins near their highs... mainly BURST... but dang... at 12 freaking cents I should have sold it all lol. Hindsight is 20/20 though after all ;-)

ETH only lost ballpark 35% from it's peak, where BTC lost over 60%.

Less ground for ETH to make up now - but it's also been growing hashrate quite a bit the last few months - not as much on a % basis as back in the spring, but MORE on an absolute basis.

AMD should be a bit worried about the situation - that's MILLIONS of AMD GPUs (and not all that many Nvidia) heading for a crash when ETH finally goes PoS.

... whenever that actually happens... I'll believe it when I see it.

Tbh, currently you can use your AMD rigs to mine other stuff and make pretty much as much.

On a sidenote, given the total absence of decently priced GPUs  out there, is there a way to get a semi-decent, stackable Ryzen or Threadripper setup going as alternative? There aren't even multi-CPU boards available, are there?

no the 1950x and 1920x are 1 cpu boards as far as I know.

The gpu shortage has caused very interesting issues for me.

As In  do I continue to mine  or just sell off 1080ti slightly over retail  not sure ,

but for now  I did sell
5 1080tis
14 1070tis
7 1070

all 5-10% more then retail  and of course I mined  several  thousand usd worth of coins with them.

It is a sure profit   and I am now very much all cash.

I am down to

 26 1080tis
  2 rx 580s
  2 rx 560
  1 rx 460
  1 1050ti
no s-9's
no avalon
some usb sticks

Okay  I sold 4 evga 1080ti's and maybe 1  msi 1080 ti

Buysolar has asked me to hold off on any more sales  as he needs the heat for now.

Okay the 2 board has been sold  and paid for.

I got an offer for the 3 board  last night when coins were  9600  I said yes   coins are 10100 and I have a few people asking me for sell to them.

I will hold the 3 board  for about 10 hours then open it back for sale.

Locking thread for now.

I ship them insured.

I will help you do an rma if needed. -------  this is the reason I like to sell these cards in the usa.

Which one do you want the msi or the asus for 725?

I have had good experience with MSI in the past, so I would probably want to go with that one. I hope I do not have to do an RMA, but I appreciate you being there to assist with such a thing.

They both hash at about the same rate and are both 11GB is that right?

yes  from 600 sols to 700 sols  for zcash.   depends on software and on  tdp

here are the two of them using 190 watts that is 76% tdp

https://i.imgur.com/AzGwct6.png

they get about  670-680  sols  at the
 setting of

190 watts

I can do 725$  if you send btc to

We've been talking back and forth in PMs about my set-up, my plans and what I should be looking into buying. Now you're selling exactly the card that I'm looking to add into my rig, so I'm thinking we could work something out for a 1080ti.

I'm working on getting the funds together, but I'm wondering if you would accept $725 for 1 of them to help me get started on mining? I'm also wondering how much use these cards have seen?

Is there any warranty (transferable or otherwise) on these cards, or do you mean postal insurance?

I ship them insured.

21157  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Who likes pod miners? on: February 15, 2018, 04:02:52 AM
This one's a bit more obvious. Roughly 0.7 inches long. I had to make a change to how zombie recovery was handled in hardware once I got the firmware written, which necessitated a change to the PCB. So I still have all the previous not-as-good PCBs, which can be exactly as functional with the aid of two trace cuts and a jumper wire. But if we can use those, it basically doubles how many I can sell before a restock of PCBs arrive.

Well thats a no brainer go for it.

I don't know who is DT, that was one of the few things I never really looked into. Surprised the one guy with such a compelling case would have removed his rating.

I assume you also mean tagged as in rated by DT's ?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust

Default depth is 2, everyone not crossed out (I think?) is on DT.
The user that removed their rating was a DT member that had left positive feedback for the account; I asked them to leave it a negative, but they said they are not yet compelled by your case/evidence so they simply removed their positive trust until they are more convinced.

Tag = Rate from DT, yes

I think MoreBloodWine is on DT now that I am looking at it, because of an addition from phillipma1957. I have sent then a PM to get involved.

I will tag the account
