2121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: Transaction fee 0.00001 BTC on: November 23, 2014, 12:07:26 PM
There is it already.
When you are on the send page, click on three dots at the upper right, than "Quick confirm, higher fee [ ]"

Yeah :-) thanks for navigating me to it.

Now I see it :-)

BTW.  During the time when I was sending transactions with 0.00001 fee I found that those transactions were confirmed quite fast anyway.  :-)

Kind regards.

2126  Economy / Services / Re: Wallet Corrupt (Paying 1btc if fixed) on: November 17, 2014, 08:41:16 PM
Maybe the new bitcoin core wallet doesn't recognize your old wallet. (Maybe core developers changed the format of wallet.dat file).

I think you should find an old bitcoin-qt wallet (that released before).

Then you sould insert the wallet and dump private keys.

After dumping keys; you can add them to the newer version.

All the matter is your private keys.

Waste of time. Core developers hasn't changed the format of wallet.dat.

If your wallet.dat is not corrupted you can always use it in next/new version of Bitcoin qt/core.

Paradise Lost - Say just words

Quote
You get high, with your destructive instinct
You get high, with your corrosive instinct
Where can I go, to escape your foul mind tricks
You're trying it more, but you will never break me
Cause you presume, the winner's you but that's not true

So say just words to me, unreal what your hate's providing
Say just words to me, your talk is always contradiction
Say just words to me, you won't feel the warmth of friends around you
You say just words to me, is it true that there's worth inside
So say just words to me.

Your designs, all the worse from power craving
Your desires, only where there's fire burning,
I'll show you the way, a pleasure that's for the taking
You're trying it more, but you won't get satisfaction
Cause you presume the winner is you, but that's not true
So say just words to me.

Paradise Lost   -     Hallowed Land

Quote
You'd love to be so far away
It's not a long way to go, it's gonna end in your pain
Greet open handed stranger
Create the turmoil, you're not sane
I want the last one to go to embers will revive,

So stay

You want to live a life time each and every day
You've struggled before, I swear to do it again
You've told it before till I, until I'm weakened and sore

Seek hallowed land

You'd love to see right through my veins
The pale reflection tells all, predominations sustain
Crawl over land or mountain in sight the ultimate escape
A silhouette subsiding, enticed unable to relate
You want to live a lifetime each and every day
You've beckoned before, you'll never do it again
You've prayed before who are the prayers for..

Begone the fools that lead me - I need not to know
accept reclining spirit I need to endure
You try to live a lifetime each and every day
In this short time of promise, you're a memory...

I had the same problem some month ago, i fixed it with ubuntu, i obtein privkeys and load it in other wallet, if you want help i can help you step by step, have you got other computer?

I don't have the problem, but I would like to know more about the steps you have taken.
How do you fix it with ubuntu? Just install the OS and run bitcoin core linux with your wallet.dat?

Yes this is indeed interesting :-)
Also interesting is why he will need another computer when you can install another OS on same machine.

Kind regards.

COntact Welsh, and send him the bitcoin wallet and private keys to work with.

I don't understand what you are trying to say.

Wallet.dat contain private keys. (Encrypted or not)
All he need to send is a wallet.dat file (and pass phrase if wallet is encrypted) if we are talking about private keys.

If OP have his private keys  he don't need to do anything else than importing private keys to the wallet.
But his wallet.dat is corrupted - that's why he have no access to his private keys.
2135  Economy / Services / Re: Wallet Corrupt (Paying 1btc if fixed) on: November 16, 2014, 12:01:48 PM
You guys will in possession of the btc on the wallet. I'm the only one taking a risk here and clearly the people who didn't figure that out are not gonna be contacted cause they probably can't help me lol

Edit: The -salvagewallet command doesn't work so its gonna be more difficult than that.

What do you mean by that the command doesn't work?

Command not found or no effects on your corrupted .dat?
2136  Economy / Services / Re: Wallet Corrupt (Paying 1btc if fixed) on: November 15, 2014, 08:31:40 PM
You run commands by this right?

1. Go into CMD
2. Type in "cd C:\Program Files\Bitcoin"
3. bitcoin-qt.exe -salvagewallet

right?

This is correct.

Ad 2. Location might be different of course.

Good luck!  Let us know does it worked out for you.

If not you should follow MarcoTheMiner suggestion.

Welsh - link to his profile
He's got good knowledge and understanding of wallet.dat recovery.

But -salvagewallet perhaps will do the job.

Kind regards.

Those hunts for Satoshi are for me a great resource of the history and I always love to read those threads where people are sharing a lot of great links which contains such a fascinating informations.

I don't really care who is Satoshi because this information is not as important as Bitcoin itself.

Thanks for another great set of texts to read.

2139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin be used for military usage? on: November 15, 2014, 04:23:37 PM
Hello,
I am wondering if Bitcoin can be used for military purposes and has military usage

Are they even allowed to use Bitcoin?

I have read on the website

Quote
Resilience and decentralization

By its high decentralization, Bitcoin created a different form of payment network with an increased level of resilience and redundancy. Bitcoin can handle millions of dollars in trades without requiring military protection. With no central point of failure such as a data center, attacking the network is a more difficult project. Bitcoin could represent an interesting step forward in securing local and global financial systems.

Please confirm if Bitcoin can or cannot be used for military purposes and has military usage and if they are allowed to use Bitcoin.

Thank You

I agree with others saying that "yes!  BTC can be used by the military. "

I am hundred percent sure that they are already using it  for some purposes :-)

Bitcoin is available to "everyone" :-)

Kind regards.

Hello everyone, I'm new to Bitcoin and came across this forum in my searches. I thought it would be a good idea to register here and see what this is all about.

I run a grow store outside of Calgary and am interested in Bitcoin for my shop. I also just learned about alternates to Bitcoin. Like penny stocks. I will probably invest in those too. Anyways, my journey begins...

Hello :-)

Nice to meet you!  This forum is for sure the best online place to talk about Bitcoin with other Bitcoiners :-)
So I am sure you will spent great time in here.

I suggest from my experience to keep more to Bitcoin than to other alternative coins because Bitcoin will not die :-) other coins might vanish .. :-) there are only few alt coins worth your time and money so be careful and support Bitcoin!  :-)

Good luck with integration of your shop with Bitcoin payments - smart move if you want to sell some stuff around the forum :-)

Before making any decisions you can always ask around for an opinion of experienced people, we have a lot of them around.
Remember that there are many scammers in the world so just be careful while making businesses and think twice before doing something :-)

See you around!

Kind regards.
