But is it necessary to have a BitcoinPenny coin? Or should I just somehow photoshop it in a pic I snapped in my vacations?
I think it is part of the contest to actually have the coin itself in the photo. I would be happy to send you one if you are in US for this contest And here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1501251.msg15104069#msg15104069Enjoy some of my photos!! Thanks Yes, we'd prefer the actual coin, but we'll accept photoshop'd submissions for those without coins. However, there's really no good excuse for not having a coin, since our forum member minerjones has generously offered to send one. Thank you, minerjones! As for the photos... I love gnomes! (You gnome-y so well, minerjones! ) Keep those photos coming! Regards, Me

Defcon23, that's an AWESOME photo! I love it. But is it necessary to have a BitcoinPenny coin? Or should I just somehow photoshop it in a pic I snapped in my vacations?
grtthegreat, We're happy to allow photoshop'd images of our coin. (No purchase necessary.) Please feel free to use any of the images which have been provided directly by The Bitcoin Penny Company (on our website, Instagram account, etc). However, if you'd like to use the images provided by any of our past or recent customers, then you will have to get their individual permissions. We look forward to seeing some clever photoshop'd photos. Regards, Chris

Will the bags be numbered....like the SN rolls?
They should all be numbered and have NFC chips. I googled around and these are like pretty cheap and able to be customized easily from what I found!? BG4, no. No numbers on the bags. We really don't consider the bags themselves to be too valuable or collectible. Just an interesting souvenir. That's all. Of course, we could be wrong. Maybe they'll be collectible. Who knows? owlcatz, sorry, but we can't do the NFC resin chips, because we promised to only issue those inside the 2016 Special Edition Rolls. But you're right; the bags themselves are pretty inexpensive. It's the 100 Bitcoin Penny™ inside that make the final price. However, we may decide to not actually sell the bank bags, but rather drop them on auction with a very low starting bid. We really don't know at this point, but we should have all that figured out in the next few weeks. We'll definitely keep you posted. Thanks for the questions / feedback, guys! Always welcome. Regards, Chris

Thanks for the questions on our new bank bags project, guys. No more NFC chip coins for 2016, sorry. Those are only available inside the 2016 Special Edition Rolls. (Of which, our last roll -- SE Roll No.09 -- is still available. Buy it now! ) The coins inside will be the real 2016 DAVE coins. These particular bags will be in very limited supply and sold at a solid discount (as opposed to buying 50 2-Packs, 100 Singles, etc) for the express purposes of distributing the coins to increase bitcoin awareness in the general public. In other words, by purchasing the bank bags of 100 coins, you're promising to give away most (if not all) of the coins to other people, free of charge. The bag is yours to keep as an interesting souvenir. Regards, Chris

To start things off, here's a quick snap of some 2016 coins in a pair of GH Bass Weejuns camo penny loafers from the Spring 2013 collection. (Look closely, because they're camouflaged.) I'll place this photo under Miscellaneous. Too bad my feet are a smidge too wide for these 10D, because I'd totally rock them! Regards, Chris

Can Bitcoins be hacked? though your wallet can surely be hacked if its not a cold storage wallet, there were people who were complaining about their wallets on blockchain.info being hacked, though i have never faced it myself I cringe every time I see a thread titled "How many bitcoin do you own?" or "What bitcoin wallet do you use?" or "Are you holding or spending your bitcoin?" or "Where do you find bitcoin faucets?" or any other of a million titles a clever scammer / hacker might use in order to learn all he will ever need to scam / hack all of your bitcoin away. I'm not a hacker or coder or anything computery, but if I were, then I'd post a few threads like those mentioned above, and I'd bet that at least one forum member inadvertently tells me what kind of operating system he uses, which wallet software he's using, how many bitcoin he owns, how he has those bitcoin distributed among his software, hardware, and paper wallets, what times he's usually at his computer, which online links he's most likely to click on and download, and a ton more super hackery information. (It's crazy how much info we give away without knowing it.) Just be careful what information you share in a public forum, and you'll be fine. Nothing can stop the super clever professional hackers if they really want your bitcoin (or any other valuable information), but you don't have to help them, either. Regards, Me

It's a tough decision for minerjones, to be sure. I wouldn't want to be in his position. That said, with the permission of minerjones, I will officially withdraw my bid of .55 BTC. Dogevisitor can have the auction at .541 BTC. No worries, no hard feelings. I'll find another set down the road. Congratulations, DV! Regards, Chris

If I'm the winner and if I ever think on selling this set you will be the first one I will ask and the price will be my winning bid. It's gestures like the one above that make me happy to be part of such a great forum. You're a good one, dogevisitor. Regards, Chris

Dang, that was a good tactic by doge to make the minimum acceptable bid after his 0.551 BTC. It's really up to the person running the auction but I believe doge won based on bid invalidation. Yeah, I'm on the fence about it. The OP states "bid increment," not "minimum bid increment." To me, that means the bids must be in increments of .01 BTC (in other words, all bids must be divisible by .01 BTC), and a bid of .541 BTC doesn't qualify. (And if that's the case, then that means the previous valid bid of .54 BTC may have won the auction.) Regardless, the last thing I want is bad blood. This is a fun and friendly auction, after all. Congratulations, dogevisitor. Me

bid increment: 0.01BTC I think I won this! I'm lost... Me Oh, I see what you did. I didn't think the extra .001 BTC counted, since the increments were .01 BTC. Me
