2121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your help appreciated - what was it that HOOKED you on Bitcoin? on: September 02, 2016, 01:41:22 PM
In the pre-bitcoin era, it was impossible to move money from A to B  no matter the distance, in a cheap and fast way. It clicked instantly and realized the infinite value of such a thing, considering most people in this planet are not part of the banking economy. People now can become their own bank with an SMS phone. This alone is enough to get it going in the trillions for a marketcap once things are more mature.
2122  Other / Off-topic / Re: What will you do if you own 21 BTC? on: September 02, 2016, 01:38:40 PM
i think 21 bitcoins is a very good amount and i can start a good business with it,  i will invest some bitcoin in alt and will hold some for price increase.i i will also use 1 bitcoin for shopping.

business is the best thing to do, because the business can give us huge advantages and we can also provide assistance to those who need the services, or the goods we sell. In addition to your business can also benefit from tradinga or investment. all that depends on your goals and your mindset, as long as it can get you into a better life. Then it's something special

Having business is a good thing but you also need to choose a business that can survive for long term and has less competitors and you need to work hard continuously to grow your business.

In every business, it would really need effort and time  in order to grow your business and would be profitable in the future. Good management would need  on this matter because   your business would be useless  if you dont mind on these things.21btc would be enough already for me to build a physical shop.

In what country? 21 BTC is not enough money to buy a place in a first world country, and you have to consider all the stupid and annoying taxes that the state will constantly demand on you for having a business, so it's initial investment + a period where you will most likely have loses.
2123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / When will banks stop pumping "blockchain technology"? on: September 02, 2016, 01:34:55 PM
Im sick and tired of all those stupid news about this or that banking brand claiming how the "blockchain will revolutionize everything" or "the technology behind bitcoin..." blah blah all that crap.

When are those idiots going to be forced to admit that the real innovation is bitcoin+blockchain and not only blockchain? They truly disgust me.
2124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling be considered a "high risk investment"? on: September 01, 2016, 06:35:17 PM
It would be considered an high risk investment depending on the philosophy you have about investing and gambling. If you consider high risk investing a gamble, then gambling is as a result, a high risk investment.

If you think investing is never a gamble, then gambling cannot be considered an investment of any form.
2125  Economy / Economics / Re: Currency v Property on: September 01, 2016, 05:38:04 PM
Bitcoin cannot be properly defined... is this new, amazing but weird asset. It can be used as gold, or it can be used as a way to pay for your groceries if you can find the place that accepts it. So how to properly define it? very hard task.
2126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin without Altcoin ? on: September 01, 2016, 05:27:25 PM
Altcoins are a great way to experiment with blockchain technology in a decentralized way and try things that would be too risky with bitcoin. Also, if you are on the right side of the trade, you can make a ton of money from the pumps that happen all the time. Just find a good project and stick with it.
2127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how strong is bitcoin really? on: September 01, 2016, 04:41:18 PM
We know that bitcoin is strong and all the wallets have milletry grade security but one of my stupid friend today said that maybe someone can hack it with just a calculater because with math and correct formulas we can even predict gambling bets if that is possible then maybe there is any chance of this

"With a calculator? " Lol! You can't even enter a Bitcoin address into a typical desktop calculator without getting a numeric overflow.

Hey Soros, did you recover from the leak yet? That must have sucked, getting hacked and shit.
What are you shorting these days? Are you shorting Deutsche Bank soon? I think a crash is getting really close. You should really try Bitcoin, I think it will pump hard, but you are too old for this so stay shorting and crushing countries :p
2128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Official bitcoin logo on: September 01, 2016, 04:33:54 PM
If there is an official one, then it has to be the second one, the orange plain one. It's the one that Bitcoin Core uses in the system tray for an icon and for the desktop shortcut icon, so it doesn't get more official than that.

Also, it looks better than the first one. It looks slicker and less bloated with too many shades of colors.
2129  Economy / Services / Re: ♠ Betcoin.ag ♠ Signature Campaign - High Pay - Monthly Payments - Bonuses ♠ on: August 23, 2016, 03:02:22 PM
What happens when a certain thread that was in the Bitcoin section gets moved to the off-topic section? It's annoying to lose so many posts this way... example:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1542486.msg16013420#msg16013420

This Bitcoin is in my opinion Bitcoin related but they move it to off-topic. Only because of a mod opinion to move the thread we lose all the posts?  Undecided
2130  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 202: Diaz vs McGregor 2 Info and Prediction Thread on: August 23, 2016, 02:39:57 PM
I'm a bit new to betting on UFC; I'm lucky I bet on McGregor for this match  Grin

Just a question, why does McGregor want Diaz to drop his weight? They're both equal at 77kg, so wouldn't the next match be unfair for Diaz if he loses weight? Will McGregor shed some pounds as well?

Either way, this fight was very entertaining to watch!

McGregor is naturally a lean guy with less muscle mass than that. 77kg is way too big for him, he was pushing himself to fight Nate at that weight. This cause him to start running out of cardio way faster than he would if he was lighter. That is why bodybuilders have poor stamina in fights and stuff like that, moving the extra weight is demanding on the body.

The odds for the next gamble in Diaz vs McGregor 3 are in favor of McGregor since he will be at the weight he feels himself more comfortable at.
2131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rio 2016 overall prediction and discussion on: August 23, 2016, 02:28:25 PM
That was a great show anyway. I think I could place bet on Bolt, but I lost the moment, I suppose so.

Brazil Football = They took the gold as expected.
USA Basketball = They took the gold as expected.
Usain Bolt = Took gold as expected.

I lost a bit of money in the Rafa Nadal individual match since I expected him to get gold, but he got gold in the doubles spain team so it regained that.

Overall I made profit from Rio. Hey, how much did u get in profit?

Nice guess and good profit congrats. I lost few bets in this Olympics. In a final football match, I thought Germany would win, but bad luck The home team won the game. And in a tennis match, i lost my bet in a mixed doubles match. Overall it is a mixup with profit and loss. I think I made tiny amount profit that's it.

Ehh did you realize taht that guy literally copypasted my comment above? Maybe KiboPlatform is a bot and not a real human or something? I will look into it and see if its copypasting more people's comments in other threads...
2132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Didn't Monero have massive problems in terms of blockchain size? on: August 23, 2016, 01:56:26 PM
I remember using Monero back in the day when it didn't even have a GUI. Anyway, I remember that it had some serious problems with the blockchain, it was too bloated.

What is the current situation now? I may invest but right now it's obviously overpumped and will correct.
2133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could Monero replace Bitcoin soon? on: August 23, 2016, 01:39:35 PM
XMR is a cool coin with cool developers but do not get caught in this ridiculous hype/pump. This kind of growth will not be sustained. Buy orders are already very weak at 0.008. 63% was a hell of a pump, congratulations for the lottery winners, I hope you are selling your tickets before the pump ends.

Sell your expensive XMR and buy cheap ETC before the next ETC big pump, that is how money is made.

And remember that BTC is king.
2134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if POKEMON GO let people earn Bitcoin? on: August 23, 2016, 01:37:37 PM
It looks like the pokemon go hysteria is dying out a bit to me at least in the USA. Right now it will continue in the countries where it hasn't been released yet, but I think it will eventually bottom and not be that popular again until they add new pokemons. Some people already as all the pokemons completed.
2135  Other / Off-topic / Re: Old people earning bitcoins on: August 23, 2016, 12:44:48 PM
so what? i dont get why you would be amazed by this, a 45 year old using bitcoin, big deal.  All early pioneers in the computing space would be over 45 Huh
yes i agree with you .. the pioneer of the computerized system was at the age of 45 years. age is not a barrier for someone to use bitcoin. initial capital to understand bitcoin is computer science.

We can't compare the average 45 year old with 1 in a million guy that has spent his life getting good and computers and technology.

The average 45 year old of today is never going to understand Bitcoin. Maybe they get to use it without understand it like most people. 60 yos are simply too old to get it, they will neither understand or use it.
2136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Danger when selling BTC in person on: August 23, 2016, 12:35:59 PM
Lesson learned. If you're doing a trade in real life, good for you. In fact, this is the way to minimise the risk. Getting mugged like that is one of the biggest concerns.

This is why you trade in a public place, in plain sight of others, like Macdonalds.

Indeed, I would only trade in person in a public place. The problem is, how the hell are you going to get 28k dollars in person in public? You need to count the money before taking it, and im not sure if it's a good idea that people see you counting a ton of cash while also cameras record you, and I doubt that you intend that money to get taxed otherwise you would just sell it in an exchange or something...
2137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Turn Gambling into a Profitable Activity on: August 22, 2016, 04:30:27 PM
My advice is to bet for the clear winners. Bet big quantities and you may make a killing. The favorites won in Rio, almost all of them, there was a lot of money to be made thanks to Usain Bolt alone, just bet on gold gold gold all the time, he never loses, he is some kind of alien. I hope he is not revealed to be using steroids years from now.
2138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rio 2016 overall prediction and discussion on: August 22, 2016, 03:56:54 PM
All of the great cash cows delivered again, made money on:

Brazil Football = They took the gold as expected.
USA Basketball = They took the gold as expected.
Usain Bolt = Took gold as expected.

I lost a bit of money in the Rafa Nadal individual match since I expected him to get gold, but he got gold in the doubles spain team so it regained that.

Overall I made profit from Rio.
2139  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 2016 Summer Olympics - Bitcoin Betting on: August 22, 2016, 03:50:32 PM
had a wonderful Olympics, got to see world records broken, seen many upsets and then as expected Usain Bolt came and conquered, wish he could come back in Tokyo .If bolt wants he can definitely come back and go for the Fourth gold in 100 and 200 and that would cement a place no one will ever dare to challenge in any life time  Grin

Usain Bolt means easy money. Just bet on him winning and get free money. Its like Mayweather in boxing, you know he is going to win. Those fuckers were born to win and never lose, I am admittedly envious of mega talented people.
2140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling. Is It Wrong? on: August 22, 2016, 03:43:52 PM
There are better places to put money, in my opinion. But if it is wrong, it depends on your point of view, and it seems that there are very different opinions about it here.

If you want to gamble, the best way is to learn some basic investing and put your money on certain altcoins, hold enough and know when you buy and when to sell, so you can have more reasonable expectations of whats going to happen. Pure gambling is just too much luck involved. Sure, investing requires luck, but less so than gambling.
