2121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: February 10, 2023, 04:45:17 PM
So the press conference happened earlier and it looks to me like Makhachev is playing mind games by saying that he wants to KO Volk...  Not happening.  It's gonna be via submission and if anything I feel like it's gonna be a rear naked choke.  Dunno...  I'm just talking out of my ass rn as somehow a rear naked choke popped in my head just now.  Cheesy Cheesy

Live weigh ins will be a few hours later.  I hope to see everybody having a good weight cut so in turn we have a good event.  GL to all your bets!

Volk was also training for the submission game. He had been in the sport for years, he wouldn't panic to get back on his feet and give up his back easily. But because  Islam is huge, he may not be able to stop him and will be an arm triangle again.

Volk will keep Islam guessing with just a 1,2 strike so he will not last fighting on his feet. He will takedown. That KO statement is a bull.
2122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How scary could the US SEC ban crypto staking be a sight? on: February 10, 2023, 03:53:05 PM
Staking coins on an exchange is just like keeping coins there and when bad things happen the staker will lose everything and the exchange will easily give reasons for being hacked. So this move by SEC is not a scary thing, in fact it should be supported because this regulation is like supporting a campaign that is always echoed by crypto lovers, not your key, not your coin.

There are consequences if SEC pursues this because surely they are stifling the industry and as a result developers are going to move out of US and the harder for thier regulators to actually reach these developers. The taxes that supposedly go to the US government may go to some other country instead.

Not your key, not your coins indeed as users are also pushed out of the CEX and they'd be staking on thier personal wallet.
2123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: February 10, 2023, 03:36:06 PM
And this is what Ryan Garcia has to say:

Quote
On Wednesday evening, Garcia posted an Instagram video of himself training at coach Joe Goossen’s Ten Goose Boxing Gym in Van Nuys, Calif. with the caption, “stop running Tank. Stop hiding from me. Stop staying quiet behind Al Haymon. No rematch clause. Winner takes all coward.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/ryan-garcia-tank-no-rematch-clause-winner-takes-all-coward-stop-staying-quiet-behind-haymon--172359

I doubt though that Al and Tank will have to bow on this kind of threat from Ryan.

I'm still seeing that this fight can be iron out by both parties and the fight pushing in May or in a later date. Brave though from Ryan about the winner takes all suggestion, but it hasn't happen in boxing.
I think the fight will be made but Tank is probably trying to get as much money as possible out of this deal because Garcia is a legit threat to him. Garcia has some of the best power in the division even though he is very small compared to a lot of the fighters but he has a good upper cut and is very fast. I can see why Tank would want to get as much as possible from this deal because he could lose and I think he will lose. The odds are favoring Tank atm but that is because he as a longer career with more notable wins but Garcia is young and hungry and I will take the young and hungry fighter any day.

Rayn seems to get confident it appears it's really Tank that keeps making this match hanging still while they still negotiate with the fee.  Ryan running out of patience for there is still the likelihood of this match to not happen suggest something rash winner take all  Cheesy

Power and speed that's what Ryan has against the experience and power of Tank. They still have to keep hyping the fight 3 months is forever for someone too excited.
2124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The biggest casino property... on: February 10, 2023, 03:16:50 PM
That's why they are building skyscraper, to get more room.
LOL! Am I the only one who sees a cruise ship on top of 3 skyscappers? I mean look at that boat like structure as if like it serves an emergency vehicle when Singapore gets flooded  Grin

My ex-girlfriend told me that you need a passport to enter the casino and that the majority of the personnel there are hostile to visitors/foreigners. As for me, that gives their casino, no matter how humungous or luxurious it is, a negative reputation.

Nothing you can do when you are riding that ship anymore unless you are willing to jump out of it. You have to be someone with tons of money and a connection to the thugs inside otherwise you get bullied by them as well.

Never tried going inside in one of these, it felt like I can't afford anything inside of it. But for a country with a population of more than a billion, I guess 2,561 room is not enough for the number of high rollers visiting the hotel casino.
2125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How scary could the US SEC ban crypto staking be a sight? on: February 09, 2023, 08:29:16 PM
The last time Brain Armstrong tweeted about a rumor turned out to be true so this could also be true. Before this rumored crypt staking ban comes out there is already a continuous crackdown against the industry the latest being Binance suspending USD bank transfers.

What I have read was this is very timely since a month from now, ETH Shanghai update will be launched and more users can stake ETH. Articles today are published about this being a coordinated attack on ETH.

It should only affect ETH or other staking tokens but the BTC dropped today though which I guess could be one of the effects.
2126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Learn from a brother's mistake on: February 09, 2023, 07:47:24 PM

As long as it's a new altcoin, there is always a possibility that it will be a scam even if it's launched in binance launchpad.  You are investing so at least get the top projects. 5/10 is already a bad ratio. This is not the time to buy risky tokens, no more buying of unknown projects.

I look it up on CMC, they added a warning on the ALBT page that says.

Following the incident on Bonq involving ALBT in their troves, the AllianceBlock team has released a statement and an update regarding the snapshot and token distribution. The legacy ALBT token has no utility anymore in the AllianceBlock ecosystem. Updates only on official channels on Twitter and Telegram.
2127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and it effect to our local community on: February 09, 2023, 04:59:27 PM
I would love us to share this idea, I have it in mind to introduce Bitcointalk to the people around me, but I wish to ask, how do I go about it,

Do you think it will be of advantage or disadvantage to my community?

The forum is full of information so that should make someone informed just by reading conversations in the forum especially if he knows how to use the search box which for a newbie you need to also teach to them.

Everyone has certain traits though. There are some people, regardless of all the tuts you explain, they tend to find other places for resources of information. I told my sister to register in bitcointalk if she wanna learn something and ask anything in the forum, but all she did was go to youtube and reddit.
2128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Signs of compulsive gambling on: February 09, 2023, 04:27:55 PM

Could it be one of the signs when someone keeps talking about gambling addiction?
LOL Yup better not talk about it anymore.  Seriously. The more I see topics like this the more I ask myself if I am addicted which I think I am not. I bet I'm not.

4) Ignoring other important work like job just for gambling

This one I think is already one of the effects of addiction. It's close to neglecting duties and responsibilities.
2129  Economy / Economics / Re: Untouchable Savings: Do you have it? on: February 09, 2023, 10:52:26 AM
You can try to spend less all the time while the future is uncertain. But it wouldn't be right to make the money you save to be untouchable. One that you can do is sell your watch and jewelry to a pawnshop or to your rich friend as your last resort.

It's not good to hide your fiat money these days because inflation will eat up its purchasing power which in the end, you won't be able to buy anything out of it. If there is anything that you could make untouchable savings, its BTC in your private wallet.
2130  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Features in Crypto Casinos for the Elderly on: February 09, 2023, 07:23:30 AM
You can deposit some coins to your uncle's account on a crypto casino, I think he can already manage to do it on his own. You just have to remind him to be careful in pasting BTC addresses in withdrawing.

I however doubt he'd like it since he is used to brick and mortar casinos, the feel is just not gonna work for him but perhaps the LIVE casinos where he can see the dealer girls  Grin
2131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC fights thread (predictions + money back guarantee) on: February 09, 2023, 07:15:43 AM

As an MMA fan, I think the majority will also bet for Islam to win since he is the bigger man in the octagon and can manage to takedown Volka which is his key to winning. Particularly they can choose Win by Submission. Your offer may not be taken by anyone actually. They can bet on thier own.

So many MMA blogs already and there are podcasts about it including the popular Joe Rogan's, that would put your blog unnecessary actually unless you offer worth more than they know.
2132  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we experience $80k this year? on: February 08, 2023, 05:56:51 PM
It won't make me sad to see BTC at $80k this year that's for sure.

But $80k is just way ahead of halving. This hasn't happened in the past where the price exceeds its ATH before the halving.
If the price goes up because of the debt default or because the government hurrying the crypto regulations, something is really shifting that we might not even benefit even when we hold stablecoin.
2133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 284: Makhachev vs. Volkanovski on: February 08, 2023, 05:26:07 PM
Volkanov hasn't fought someone with Dagestani wrestling yet which makes this challenging for him but if he can avoid takedowns and counter it with his uppercut, Islam could lose. This situation can actually happen in this fight and Islam's best attempt is to takedown Volkanovski too.

But theoretically, when it comes to just standing on both legs Islam has a slim chance to win.
It's a fight between the best kickboxer and the best wrestler, of course each of them have an advantages and disadvantages. But it doesn't mean Volkanovski is bad in ground fight and Makhachev doesn't fight in distance, Volkanovski has black belt in jiu jitsu while Makhachev is also training about Kickboxing in America.

But wrestling is more dangerous in MMA because it doesn't matter how tough your chin, it doesn't hurt you but you will lose in the fight. You need to have a close or higher wrestling skill if you're want to avoid lose via submission.

Agree on this, Striking is useless if your enemy is very good on take down on Octagon because there’s no such thing as clinch in UFC and this is the only way for a striker can get out on a possible submission by a good wrestler. There’s sill doubt about Makhachev because he doesn’t much face strong opponent except Oliveira on his career but his submission and wrestling are both impressive since he is guided by Khabib which is the best on this method on UFC.

The only advantage of Volk on this match is striking and his experience because he fought many strong fighter on his career but he will definitely dominated by Makhachev on this fight since this will be a wrestling game. Islam will never let this fight a striking fest and he will surely attempt takedown as much as possible like he was always doing on his previous matches.

Islam had many times used thier striking to set up thier takedowns. He ducks a counter punch only to lift his opponent's leg to takedown. He does it easily they won't see it coming and then ultimately chokes his opponent. The kind of attack is already predictable but Volk may find it hard to avoid because Islam is a huge beast, Islam may take more than just a big uppercut to bring down.

Makhachev, Islam 1.26
Volkanovski, Alex 4.20

So far the grappler is almost destined to win.
2134  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: More Regulation Incoming! on: February 08, 2023, 04:08:42 PM

More regulatory bodies are trying to fight over which of them will supposedly regulate crypto. Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) was once also in one article on a crypto site demanding regulation in which crypto could also be their domain.

SEC,  FSOC, and CFTC have to make it clearer which of them is really going to regulate crypto. I guess all of them have thier own grand plan to have a grip on this industry, they got to take taxes. The problem is that crypto is borderless and US doesn't own the biggest CEX.
2135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how many times have you intended to stop gambling on: February 08, 2023, 03:47:26 PM
Some people can't stop and some can just forget about it and go on to doing something else. If a person had already gone addicted to gambling before and then overcome it when he was still a teen, I think it's easier for him to stop. For someone who had just become addicted to gambling and then wanted to stop, it may require willingness.
Be it a teen or an adult, to quit gambling after they have been addicted requires willingness. The problem that most addicted gamblers face is that they are not welling to stop, once they think that this is not helping them and can destroy their life as they are addicted and willing to stop, they will stop.

I do gamble with dice and blackjack from time to time but when I lose the amount I allocated for that time, I also quit and let go of the loss.
You let go of the loss, but you did not quit gambling, you only stop gambling for awhile for a bad mind not to build up within you at the time which can make you to lose significant sum of money in gambling.

But that proves I can stop any moment after all I don't think I'm addicted. Anyone can practice gambling the same way especially if they have a priority for example doing thier regular job than gambling all the time. Or having a family to take care of which is an obligation.

Once they find thier priority in life, everything else can be forgotten. Having a kid divides the attention of a person + a job to keep and mortgages and so on. A family man understands this I guess.

2137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MMA Info and Predictions - Bellator, KSW, PFL, ONE... on: February 07, 2023, 07:31:22 PM

Fedor only got $100k is unbelievable. Seem worse than UFC pay. UFC AFAIKA, one can get $250,000 a fight.
But why do they prefer to be with Bellator I guess they just don't want to be under Dana anymore. Several fighters before Ngannou expressed their dissatisfaction with thier contract negotiation.

I think with Bellator, the fighters are free to promote stuff on thier shirt/trunk which they can make money from it.
2138  Economy / Exchanges / Re: FTX Exchange might be brought back online - Would you use it again? on: February 07, 2023, 05:04:24 PM

There is a lot to work on FTX because they are asking back the money that SBF donated to the politicians. This is going to get worse for the old investors who made money, clawbacks attorneys are going to be crawling to those old users.  They know it's not gonna be the same, the new CEO is just constraining the comeback of FTX.

Justin Sun promises this FUD token will help pay the FTX users while it has no connection to the FTX exchange. :face palm:
2139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Polygon (MATIC) to $20? on: February 07, 2023, 03:54:54 PM
It wouldn't be surprising if Matic reached twenty dollars.  Because we have already seen many coins rise from zero.  Currently the price of Matic is 1.99 dollars but till now the market price of Matic is very low from which the market has to change a lot to reach 20 dollars. But I think the total supply of matic coin is relatively high as compared to other coins and as a result the value of this coin is not increasing much due to the presence of this coin in the market. But if the total supply can be reduced a little, then I think the market of Mathic will increase a little. However, since ALT coins are dependent on Bitcoin, if the price of Matic reaches 20 dollars, the price of Bitcoin will have to increase a lot. But since nothing is impossible for cryptocurrencies, we can expect the price of Matic to reach $20.

I hurried to check when you mentioned it's 1.99$ Damn dude!
Polygon has technical advantages and strong partnerships with projects and companies. The more reason to believe it will go up I think is because Matic climbed up its rank to the top 10 on CMC which really is just as amazing how the project beats the hyped tokens. Better security and interoperability which developers are saying its easier to launch projects in Polygon with accessible infrastructure.
2140  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you like commission job or salary base job? on: February 07, 2023, 03:31:22 PM
I would prefer the Salary based job to the commission job because the income is guaranteed at the end of the month and much more rest assured compared to the expectation of having to meet some certain targets in order to get paid based on commission.
Both jobs have got to have certain advantage and depending on the lifestyle an individual is willing to level by, you would decide on which to go with.

For those who likes a salary job, you've got to be ready for a drawn line kind of lifestyle. There is always going to be a point where the lines are drawn and your activities gets defined around those points. Also, the level of freedom it might grant you. Salary jobs are often not at advantage of the organisation in the sense that, a staff might be sloppy on the job and still get paid but often, staff get paid as much as they work and that's the hard to accept part.

The commission job is one that rewards the hardworking and so its always a perfect job for someone who has got the tike and contacts to make the numbers count. Definitley something i would like as you get to define your pay grade which ain't going to be regular and you have your time.

Commission jobs are only good if you have tons of following in your channels. It must be worth doing since people are ready to dive into opportunities like this because they started small in developing channels with up to 1M subscribers. It's almost like becoming a celebrity when you have that kind of channel either youtube or twitch. Relying just on publishing articles without subscribers is not likely going to be a success.

The advantage of users who has a lot of subscribers is that even the companies themselves are going to look for these influencers. They get paid by the company apart from the commissions they get.
