Imagine what will happen if Scotland secedes from the United Kingdom. The UK is a super power (or more reasonably said, an ex-super power). Scotland will be never able to achieve the power and dominance, which is currently wielded by the UK. Also, remember that the UK is a nuclear power.
I don't think Scotland has the slightest desire to be powerful and dominant. Happy and prosperous sounds like a much more cheerful plan. I can not even imagine in what manner a third world war can begin. If this is a war between super powers, then the planet will definitely come to an end, and if it is a lot of local wars, it is possible already today that it begins. Look at and analyze how many conflicts on earth and where they unfold.

I am sure that war with China will not. Next economic war will not do. But the problem is that China's economy is slowing, it will automatically subside and the U.S. economy. The president is very odious and brave. Large-scale electricity production is always the cheaper option (if you take in to account the maintenance and labor costs). That is one of the reasons why the government is not forcing anyone to produce electricity for themselves. I don't know.... may be in the future this scenario will change. I think the utilities and electricity company owners are somehow against that because they have the chance of losing clients of their business that will cause the owners to do something about it. Adopting renewable energy would really help the planet, it's just that, some people are also in the way and they do not believe in global warming. Global warming is a reality, and we have solid scientific evidence to prove it. Those who deny it are either mentally handicapped, or under the payroll of big corporations. Who's to say that terrorist can't get their hands on nuclear weapons? If one of these weapons accidentally detonates, like perhaps when they are getting it ready at home, in Gaza. Then would anyone really be able to be blamed for the destruction of Gaza other than the terrorists? To the OP, though. Of all cultures, I find east Asian cultures least susceptible to influence of radical islam. They are traditionally isolationist (sometimes mistaken for racism by gullible westerners) and quite conservative. Islam or other abrahamic religions are quite alien to them.
Oriental nations does not suffer from mental diseases such as white guilt and political correctness which are very common in the western nations. Look at the recent actions China has taken, to prevent the spread of radical Islam. Such actions would be unimaginable in the western world. |

IMO, no more than 10% to 20% of the net worth should be allocated to the high-risk investments.
