You need to give details about what do you mean by waiting. Well of the bounty campaign is ended already and you need yo wait for 6 months to get your coin after the campaign end, then its normal. On my experience coin will be distributed at the latest 1 month after the campaign ends.

But if you talking about a campaign that going for 6 months or more. It's quite normal, although not many campaign last more than 3 month.

Bitcoin mining is not profitable nowadays, moreover if your budget is low. Better to buy bitcoin and make it as an asset hoping for price to increase. I agree with most part of your opinion, but those crying investors should not take all the blame though. My first introduction to crypto was full of bullshit like 'you can make $100 overnight', and I believe that others has the same experience. The people who promote cryptocurrency to me was never explain the risk, that me myself should do more research about it. But most of people will just eat the bullshit they've given and put all their asset to crypto without any further research.
