I'm curious about the differences between a "digital" currency and a non-"digital" currency.
As far as I know, there is no big difference at all except that the "digital" currency will be the very same old centralized fiat currency prone to inflation but in code. Nothing special. It's akin to making transfers and online payments using USD but through services like Paypal, Webmoney, Skrill etc People will still face exorbitant fee and exchange rate hurdles, No complete control of funds in digital wallets, No store of value, No privacy etc This is not even close to the purpose of cryptocurrencies, especially Bitcoin Bitcoin is decentralised crypto but all these center owned crypto have nothing in similar with them and will not succeed in creating something like that.Just imagine you are having digital cash stored on your phone and you get some tokens with the same amount to spend but nothing new and any new law passed by government will make changes to it and even they can restrict you from making any transactions at all so what's the fun of them? Of course, I did not even think that it should actually have to be explicit about this. In fact, anything that is not decentralised for me does not count as a true crypto. For example, Ripple or even some of the less centralised alts out there are not crypto in my dictionary. Needless to say that government issued digital currencies are nothing of the kind of crypto. They do however have some useful applications for the common guy, as they technically could allow you to hold an account without a commercial bank, directly with the central bank.
Government is just coping with digitalization of financial payment system from the traditional ones but still it's centralised system and this is how they will be working just like normal fiat or digital cash in other sense but the power lies in their hand only.They have just discussing things and have not finalized any plans for them or how will they use Blockchain technology or not as they are still exploring the vulnerabilities or how to integrate the system but it will take them time and cannot succeed like it. |

I don't have a lot of option to buy things with bitcoin because I live in an area where bitcoin or any other form of cryptocurrency is illegal. However, I was able to buy a laptop recently from a local supplier who accepts bitcoin but in private. It was a private deal.
I also once paid nearly $140-$150 in btc to buy gaming stuff when there was discount on them and amazon coupon could be redeemed with exchanging btc but after that not much transactions have been made as many don't accept Bitcoin at this time here also but hope for future adoption to be increased and more people start accepting it. |
