2141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is a Bitcoin in my computer? An archive, an abstract value? on: March 06, 2015, 06:26:44 AM
Bitcoins only exist as a balance associated with a bitcoin address.
What you actually need to keep is the private key, that is like a password that allows you to spend from the corresponding bitcoin address. It is made of 256 bits, that is, 256 zeros and ones.

A private key is a secret code which allows the user to prove his ownership of his Bitcoins. Every Bitcoin address has a matching private key, which is saved in the wallet file of the person who owns the balance. The private key is mathematically related to the Bitcoin address, and is designed so that the Bitcoin address can be calculated from the private key, but importantly, the same cannot be done in reverse.

When a bitcoin address is "created" you are not actually creating it.
You just pick a random private key, that is, a random string of 256 bits, and the corresponding bitcoin address will be yours.

2142  Economy / Auctions / Re: You're bidding on being my referrer on: March 06, 2015, 06:09:40 AM

I'll just make a deal. My refer stuff for freebit (the link in my signature) will pay you 10% of the 50% that you win per roll(5% of your roll will come back to you).
say you win 1BTC, I get .5BTC(the 50% comission) and 10% comes to you (.05BTC)
The setting is set at "Share amount based on referral activity since last payout".
I can get the same deal on freedoge if you'd like.

I'll sleep on it. Meanwhile if anyone else out there feels they can do better than this, I'm all ears.

Won't be back on the board for around 15 hours.

Alright. I've slept on it. I have a counter offer.

We start with freedoge. I sign up as your referral. Same terms as stated above.

We agree on a probation period. If I've made you a "reasonable" sum via my actions on freedoge during said probation period, we open negotiations for a new deal for my signing up as your referral on freebit, with a higher percentage earned by me, and a sign-on bonus/payment to retain me as your referral until a future date or amount of bitcoin I earn you has been reached.

I keep everyone aware on the thread of our activity in regards to this deal, either on this thread or another I create for this sole purpose. If we cannot come to an agreement surrounding my signing up as a referral on freebit, I field other offers or return to renegotiate at a later date. Either way, you still have me as a referral on freedoge.

What say you?
I'll stick to my offer as it is one of the only offers I've seen you get. It is much a better share than the top 10 referers do on freebit maybe over time I can bump to the 20% mark. But for now this is one offer that'll be out there

So far I have it setup as is, I have two people that are on my referral so far. I have and will keep it set to this payout as is, unless you prove a good amount of activity is going on over say two weeks. If not, I'll stick to my original plan (5% back on each roll).

He seems to be paying for a buy back on his cloud mining adventure. I don't think we are going to see much if anything from his group in quite a while.
Source?

Sorry I mistyped it . I  corrected typo .

I am  still a bit hungover from my wife's birthday party.

There was this posted it lee's group buy. Someone also said that friedcat goes quiet to try and solve issues before he comes out with the whole story.
update

The 3.546PH AMHash's hashrates have disappeared since 25th Dec 2014. We found this problem two days later,we asked friedcat,he said it was mining farm's maintenance issues, hashrates would come back soon. But one week later, hashrates didn't come back yet. When we asked FC again, we were told that all mining devices were robbed by the partner of the mining farm. And all hashrates were out of control.
After then, FC told us that hashrates from new mining farms will be deployed, but we didn't know the amount at that time.Right now, we still don't receive any update from those new hashrates.

AMHash Team

is it true?... if it is true, even firecat do scam to customer...the hashrate was disappear on 25th Dec and they sell cloud hash rate on Jan

what a shame.
2145  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Feb 22 to March 9 diff thread with contest included. on: March 05, 2015, 06:30:26 AM
Yes I am surprised its only at 3%, with the increase in price I assumed it would jump 10% or so.
Well the price has dropped back from a peak of $288 to $270 now.
2146  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 2012 5 BTC Casascius Coin (repackaged, slabbed, loadable) on: March 05, 2015, 06:23:31 AM
I still have 1 or 2 of these available with and without the hologram if anyone was interested.
are you asking .15BTC for the non hologram coins?
2147  Economy / Auctions / Re: You're bidding on being my referrer on: March 05, 2015, 06:05:19 AM
How about something like an agreement that you get paid, after they get their referrals ? Will be atleast fair for both, and if you are legit, people would be happy to keep the contract running for subsequent months.

There's got to be some incentive on my end. If I were to sign up as someone's referral, put in the "work", and not get paid, I would have wasted however long I spent visiting the site/faucet/using the service.

Unless you mean I sign up as their referral, they see that I signed up, and then they pay me. Except that still relies on them actually paying me. They can easily decide not to. I don't perform, they get nothing from having referred me, and now I can't sign up as someone else's referral unless I go through the trouble of coming up with a new wallet/email.

thanx for scam proposition

Someone scammed you??

With you having zero to no trust it would probably make sense to bid in the .0005 btc area. But even that would probably be much more then what should be paid

So what should be paid?

I'll just make a deal. My refer stuff for freebit (the link in my signature) will pay you 10% of the 50% that you win per roll(5% of your roll will come back to you).

I can get the same deal on freedoge if you'd like.

I am selling several power supplies that are left over from some builds. I have 2 EVGA 1300w Gold for 120 each, 1 EVGA 1000w Gold for 100, and Raidmax 1200w Gold for 110. You should provide timestamped pictures, and do you accept escrow?
2149  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Liquid cooled IceCube 85-175Mh/s+ SCRYPT miner on: March 04, 2015, 10:18:49 PM
let me ask this way, do you accept escrow ?
We will do even better - PayPal.

Currently testing will be active in 1-2 days.
I don't see PayPal > Escrow (i.e. OgNasty)

2152  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Wow! KnC Neptunes are insanely cheap on Ebay! on: March 04, 2015, 06:55:03 PM
For sure one can still make some money with these - no?
These were $10,000 when new.  Now you can 'Buy it Now' for <$700!!!  WTF?
Because a Neptune wil only ROI less than 2btc in its lifetime, and this is with $ .10 electrcity.
At $ .17 electricity the Neptune will mine .6 btc lifetime.
You do the math.
Sooo it is better to buy 3 btc for $800 than buy that machine to mine it.

Also doesn't KnC have a rep for being a fire starter?
2153  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS - USA] 2x Bitmain Antminer S1's [$75 each]| 2x EVGA SuperNOVA 1300 G2 PSU's on: March 04, 2015, 05:19:23 PM
These are still available!
I've seen s1's start to go for under $40. some I believe were doing $35 shipped...
Don't want to be a thread-crapper but just trying to help on pricing.
2154  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Bitcoin Raffle #1 on: March 04, 2015, 05:17:02 PM
New idea. How would people feel if I used a dicing site, and used the last digit for the winning ticket?

For example
*image removed*

The last number was a 0 in the roll, meaning the 0 ticket would have won
Tickets would be sold from 0-9 to account for this.

Here is the hash from primedice
*image removed*

And here is the only roll that has happened in almost 10 days
*image removed*

Since there isn't a way to removing bets from the list, it keeps the host (me) from cheating the raffle.
It also doesn't allow the host to know the number, until the drawing happens.

How would people feel about this method?
Just trying new ideas here.

Nobody to weigh in?
2155  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Best available miner to buy ? on: March 04, 2015, 03:17:36 AM
Hello
I got last month SP20 at 215 $/Ths
happy with deal, but because soldout must look others.
SP31 i think is overpriced.
Also I see at zoomhash S4 and SP10 , i think a bit expensive, because i get about the same ratio $/Ths than SP20īs

so I will thanks your opinions to know where and what to buy actually

If you haven't taken a gander at the hardware forum here you go https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=75.0
Other than that, Spondoolies looks to be all out of hardware as well as Bitmain.
You could try lee's group hosting https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=934581.0

For now wait it out to see if the companies release some new chips.
2156  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Zeus Thunder X3 VS Antminer s3? on: March 04, 2015, 02:56:51 AM
zeus do 28mH for 920watts of power. Scrypt mining is also very risky because there is always a new coin that is the most profitable and you have to time it right.
with the antminers, you'll most likely mine bitcoin, and they are a stable investment if you have $0.03 per kw/h or less power.
If you don't apply to these, just buy bitcoins and sit on them, or use them for daily activities.

Also since you don't have experience mining you may want to look around the forums for some help
i.e the mining support board https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=40.0

Hope you guys like those two games.

I must confess wheel is quite addictive game Smiley

We are preparing third game, card game, which will be published by the end of this week.
The wheel is fun Grin
One note, just a grammar error under provably fair on eagsdice.

"Note: Decimals from 3rd place are cutted off."

Should probably say cut off.

Other than that everything looks alright, maybe hide the password and have a box for the password and a box for confirm password, so someone doesn't lock themselves out.
2160  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Would Anyone try a group rental? on: March 01, 2015, 08:28:00 PM
not cost effective.

nicehash has a fixed contract much cheaper.

your link wants 300th minimum    so a  1 day contract  cost 3.99 btc

nicehash will do 50th  1 day fixed  for  .55 btc   it is a little cheaper and no escrow to worry about.
Thanks for the information philip!
