2141  Economy / Gambling / Re: Provably fair, correct me if I'm wrong on: January 20, 2015, 12:19:02 PM
Many bitcoin gambling sites state that they are provable fair.
Let's assume they are.

But what if they bet on their own game many many times, wouldn't they increase their profit by doing so?
If they create the highest betting volume, they have a higher stake in the whole game.

Do I miss something?

They might not even lose the transaction fees if they just update the amoiunt in the accounts manually.
Also, how would this help owners in the non-invetment site ?

If the game isn't an on-chain game then there are no transaction fees. The only befit (at first look) is increasing the number of rolls and bets. So they can say that more than 1000 BTC have been gambled on the site, however in reality that 1000 is only 100 or even 10.
2142  Economy / Gambling / Re: Pockie Soccer Pick's [Track Record] on: January 20, 2015, 12:12:56 PM

2145  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: which ponzi to invest in? on: January 20, 2015, 09:11:00 AM
Don't invest in ponzis, but if you really want to take such high risk then I'd say go for the newest sites. There you have a chance to get your money back before it goes down.
2146  Economy / Gambling / Re: Best bitcoin dice strategies!! on: January 19, 2015, 03:01:32 PM
Quit playing dice and go for some skill based stuff what fits for your skills.

Regarding dice I'd aggree with ppl who said all in, roll once or twice, cashout (if you still have something to withdraw).
2147  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia Declares Publishing Mohammed Cartoons Illegal… on: January 19, 2015, 02:34:32 PM
Maybe because he has been seen as the "bad guy" by the west. so he needed a good excuse for getting rid of any non Christian symbols from the public which Russia has been doing.

Oh, and "freedom of speech" there is a reason freedom is put in that phrase. If you cant handle someone pointing out flaws in your views and you deem that as insulting then life is going to be hard for you.

Freedom of speech my ass! Just try to express some "unathorized" views or ask unwelcomed questions about LGBT, jews, holocaust, black ppl, mass imigration, where the taxpayers money went and you will see pretty soon how tolerant these "freedom of speech" champions really are :/.
2148  Economy / Gambling / Re: Im Tired of Dice Games on: January 19, 2015, 11:36:23 AM
So bad. Now, I'm tired about ponzis  Undecided

Just like most of us here. In addition a ponzi isn't real gambling as everybody knows how it will end.
2149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What can I mine with my RIG these days? on: January 19, 2015, 11:01:29 AM
I don't know your electricity rates but at the current BTC/Alt prices maybe removing some of the GPUs and playing Minecraft on your rig is the most economic mining related option Smiley.
2150  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Revealed: Elon Musk's Plan to Build a Space Internet on: January 19, 2015, 10:52:55 AM
Without routing on terrestial ground. Though a bit of ground based routing is needed to get your packet into space and back again. It will be very vulnerable when the satelites are targeted or fail, the beauty of the internet is it decentralised routing system..

They still need some sort of routing between the satellites to find out where to send the packet. It's possible to use switching instead of routing but that would be a bit chatty. ...or they have to develop something new. Anyway as you said this solution going to lose (at least in the beginning) some of the most important features of Internet: decentralized routing, redundant network paths.
2151  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Revealed: Elon Musk's Plan to Build a Space Internet on: January 19, 2015, 10:01:05 AM

In Musk’s vision, Internet data packets going from, say, Los Angeles to Johannesburg would no longer have to go through dozens of routers and terrestrial networks. Instead, the packets would go to space, bouncing from satellite to satellite until they reach the one nearest their destination, then return to an antenna on earth. “The speed of light is 40 percent faster in the vacuum of space than it is for fiber,” Musk says. “The long-term potential is to be the primary means of long-distance Internet traffic and to serve people in sparsely populated areas.”

How the packet will "reach the one nearest their destination" without routing?
2152  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Pope on Charlie Hebdo: There are limits to free expression on: January 19, 2015, 08:47:07 AM
You either support freedom of expression or don't, as far as I'm concerned there is no middle ground, I don't think they should have arrested that 'comedian' either ( note my sarcastic finger quotes ) because if they're going to do that then why don't they go and arrest the Christians that go around ranting about homosexuals all the time or attack scientists just for writing about scientific evidence?

I was wondering whether this new pope everybody liked was too good to be true, even Jon Stewart was making this point about france having a rally about freedom of expression and speech then suddenly deciding it was okay to arrest the guy for making a comment on facebook.

I'm not the kind of person who likes to arrest stupid people, I prefer to give them a megaphone so everyone knows just how stupid they are  Grin

Double standards. You can freely express your approved views Smiley.
2153  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Anita Sarkeesian - Feminist Frequency - Donating in Bitcoin on: January 19, 2015, 08:35:58 AM
Better post this timemark https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=gAyncf3DBUQ#t=434

No one could scientifically draw a connection between violence and games and suddenly, with sexism it's supposed to be the case, not because any of these feminazis did science on it, but just because they say so and they play the part of a pseudo-victim? Seriously, GTFO.

People getting pissed at your stupidity has nothing to do with you being or not being a woman or a man. It's got to do with you being stupid.

Femnazis are not interested in science, so don't bother them with facts, data and stuff like that. Like any other fanatics they are victimizing themselfs, demonizing the enemy and attempting to attract as much attention as they can for braiwashing the rest. Anita Sarkeesian tried to extend this sceme to one of the last bastions of manfolk but thanks to God she failed miserably. Certainly she and her followers don't want to give up on this "profitable" market segment.

Actually Satoshicircle (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=731924.0)  is a pretty good one... if they are already finished the datacenter move:).
2155  Economy / Gambling / Re: Im Tired of Dice Games on: January 16, 2015, 12:35:40 PM
Any unique bitcoin games available?

A very unique and entirely bitcoin related game is http://bettingblocks.com/ and its sister site http://block777.com/. You can bet which pool will mine certain blocks. Not a fast paced action packed game indeed but unique and quite like horse racing Smiley.
2156  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: How can we create a provably fair Ponzi Game ? on: January 16, 2015, 12:26:32 PM
if its a ponzi u cant do escrow ... wtf is wrong with u people ?
no wonder these thieves are are taking your money ... duh ...

I think OP refers a dedicated ponzi game like ponzidoge (was) but not a real ponzi scheme. In such a game players get into a queue and get paid from the next player's money until the round ends, so it shows some ponzi characteristics but still not a real ponzi. Certainly late comers are going to lose money but as the timer is there they know what level of risk they are taking.
2157  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: How can we create a provably fair Ponzi Game ? on: January 16, 2015, 10:55:27 AM
You can't create a provably fair system as that scheme is all about the proven randomness of things (rolls, card shuffles, etc). I the case of a ponzi game we can't talk about programmed randomness and we can't ensure that the owners can't get involved in the investment procedure. I think the only thing what you can achieve is a  transparency when all the site addresses are traceable on the blockchain. Maybe you can research using multisignature transaction to make sure you can't withdraw investor funds and run with the coins Smiley.
