21521  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best exchange site? LTC to BTC? on: August 29, 2015, 05:34:44 PM
if you just want to exchange your litecoin to bitcoin and be done with it use shapeshift but for trading any sort of altcoin i prefer bittrex because it is fast and easy and also has a decent volume.
21522  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: [PHP] Blockchain API on: August 26, 2015, 12:30:11 PM
Thank you, coinableS. I will implement this.. Smiley I have a question tho, the amount needs to be in Satoshi right? Cuz in the script I use Bitcoin values, which gets entered into the DB from incoming payments.
About the topic, I actually tried to delete it, and re-post in the right section, but it said I do not have such permission.

A word of advice, don't use floats (bitcoin values). They can cause errors in calculations with php due to its type juggling. Store your db values in satoshi and then convert them client side for users to view.

why not use decimal?
The main difference is Floats and Doubles are binary floating point types and a Decimal will store the value as a floating decimal point type. So Decimals have much higher precision and are usually used within monetary (financial) applications that require a high degree of accuracy.
using decimal might be a tiny bit slower though, but it has the accuracy you are looking for.

p.s. this if for .Net not sure what it is called in PHP :S
21523  Economy / Speculation / Re: If and When Bitfinex does mtgox, how will it affect btc price? on: August 26, 2015, 06:29:09 AM
in that case the bitcoin price will go down but i don't think that bitfinex can have the same effect as mtgox had back in the days.
i believe by that time there were not a lot of bitcoin exchangers as they are right now , but now the number of users are distributed between a lot of exchangers so the effect would be less
21524  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I withdraw my coins from Bitfinex? on: August 26, 2015, 06:23:56 AM
you should never keep your funds on exchangers, especially if you think any fishy stuff is going on there, withdraw your funds as fast as possible (if you can!)
21525  Economy / Speculation / Re: SELL or BUY ? on: August 26, 2015, 06:16:30 AM
There are a ton of short term speculators here.  Some people are here for the long term so if you truly believe bitcoin will be adopted then any buy of bitcoin is a good buy.

Yup, and I am one of them.

Only cause I cant read the future nor anyone can.. and if it does recover it has to have a valid reason. I dont try to buy bitcoin anymore these days cause the price is just too shaky and too speculative.

in times like this it is good to close the price page (wherever you use for checking price) and relax a bit, unless you are one of the day-traders. seeing the ups and downs will only wreck your nerves.

21527  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: August 26, 2015, 06:08:47 AM
i remember seeing this "bank" wallet site that paid you interest if u stored your bitcoins with them. i haven't tried yet but if you are interested goodle "magnr"

very interesting, i found a coindesk article about it. http://www.coindesk.com/btc-sx-rebrands-magnr-bitcoin-saving-accounts/
i have heard about some exchangers (like bter of the top of my mind) giving you interests dayly for storing bitcoin or other currencies on their exchanger but i can never bring myself to trusting them with my coins because they can easily say we were hacked and lost 7170BTC or run away!
21528  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which Bitcoin Client do you use and why ? on: August 26, 2015, 05:07:35 AM
For local wallets I think Multibit is the best (and they are working on a new version that looks awesome). For convenience, blockchain.

back when i was looking for an SPV wallet i was considering Multibit but i have heard some horror stories about it; besides they enforced additional fees in order to use their "free" wallet so i switched to Electrum and i am happy with it so far.
21529  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the hell are people still selling at these prices? on: August 26, 2015, 04:57:50 AM
Even if it crashes to 100 I wouldn't sell.
The general consensus of the newcomers around here is that they are greedy and ignorant, looking to make a quick buck. I believe in what BTC stands for, and I believe it will ultimately succeed.

i also believe in bitcoin and what it stands for BUT...
how much money have you invested in bitcoin?
1, 10, 100, 1000, 10,000 USD ?
the problem is , when you invest a large amount of money in something and it starts going down or even worth it crashes down you normally would panic ans start selling to prevent further bigger losses. and if you really believe in bitcoin you would immediately buy back at lower prices if you don't want to lose the opportunity.
21530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I bet 19 BTC that you treat your bitcoins like they are your kids! be honest! on: August 26, 2015, 04:45:43 AM
i always take good care of my babies, cause i love them and sometimes i sell my kids to buy new alt-kids just to keep a mixed family of different colors Cheesy
21531  Other / Off-topic / Re: if you entered your wallet and you found 50BTC what you will do ? on: August 26, 2015, 04:28:09 AM

for me i will refund it
and type a note :
dude, your money is not a toy...
tips are welcomed Smiley
--------------------------------------------
what you will do ?
and if you asked him for a tip do you think he will accept ?
or will send some of it only ?

i will pinch myself to wake up from a dreamy dream!

but seriously if that happens i would google the sender's address to see if i am able to find the owner of the address and maybe return it if i am not tempted to keep Wink
21532  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Choosing paper wallet on: August 26, 2015, 04:23:12 AM
i personally prefer using an offline linux for storing an offline wallet as my cold storage.
the difference between this way and using a paper wallet is that i can use my bitcoins any time i want without needing to sweep the keys in an online wallet.
i used this post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=853288.0 as a reference to make my own custom offline wallet.
21533  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beginner wants some feedback! on: August 26, 2015, 04:14:22 AM
cloudminings have never been a good option in bitcoin world. the most common problem is that they are not legitimate and just a ponzi scheme so you will lose your money if you invest in those sort of cloudmining services.
and for the rest, the amount of maintenance fee that they take from you will always make the profit minimal. also you should remember that the difficulty is increasing so your profit will decrease too. and in the end you won't be able to have a good ROI and profit.

p.s. i like this post on cloudminings https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=878387.0 you can get useful information there.
21534  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: looking for newbie signature campain. on: August 26, 2015, 03:58:18 AM
Currently, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=840124.0 have the highest pay per post (4500 satoshi per post).
However if you are looking for safe payouts (that you will get paid for sure), you can try this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1121121.0 (they pay 4200 per post, however they have escrow, hence you will get the payments even if the owners ran off).

Edit: Every campaign have different rules, like boards that are not counted. Check carefully.
Joined steadyturtle and wating for confirmation
Q : what is the differance between normal post and constructive post(my english is bad and i cant understand what is the meaning of "constructive post")

read the signature campaign's thread they usually explain what they consider a constructive post.

but in general it is a post that is related to the topic and not repeating the previous responds. also it needs to be in decent english. yours look fine so far.
also spamming short posts like "LOL" "+1" and similar to that are considered non-constructive. and campaigns usually look for posts that are at least a couple of sentences not a short 1 line sentence even if it is constructive.
21535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Older means wiser (gambling wise)? on: August 26, 2015, 03:51:55 AM
Many Hollywood movies show older people enjoying their bingo nights. And bingo is a form of gambling. So why do you think older people would prefer bingo over other forms of gambling?

as others have mentioned, bingo is very similar to lottery so it is very exciting. besides it doesn't need any sort of skills or a good memory so it is very suitable for elderly. for example in poker, you need to have some skills and you can't play with a lot of people while bingo can have more players.
21536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does martingale really works? on: August 26, 2015, 03:45:37 AM
Based on my experiences , it doesn't. I always end up losing especially when autobetting   Undecided
I completely agree with this because in last few days I try autobetting on few dice sites and all gone against me even no one give me any profit

There are some dice sites has a good feature on their auto betting where you can set the max win/max lose/max bet, so you can prevent lose all your coins.

if you ask me, those autobet features are only implemented because the casino owners themselves know that martingale will fail in the end, and having the system implemented with as many features as possible to encourage players to use it will benefit the owners in the long run.

Dice sites have autobet bot because their players ask for it and want to bet as fast as possible, so why not make your customers happy while making the owner (and investors) happy at the same time? Tongue

especially if you start the autobet bot and go away, you will always come back to see all your balance gone and the bot just sitting there with an error of low balance Smiley

Casinos love martingale players. It's also a myth that minimums and maximum bets are there to prevent Martingale. Minimums are there because casinos consider bets that are too small to be a waste of time
People just try to martingale with not enough money and think 10 losses in a row won't happen to them.

10 losing streak is nothing, i had 25-30 loses in a row while using martingale method, that is why i always say you will lose all your money playing dice especially if you are using martingale method.
21537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do people still play dice? on: August 26, 2015, 03:39:41 AM
Because Dice is an easy and quick game that you can understand chances without problem so it is a very attractive game that everybody can play

yeah i agree. Dice games are so easy, they don't need you to have any skills like in poker nor you should have any kind of information like in sports betting. so anybody can do it.
additionally you have the option of betting with ridiculously small amounts like 1 satoshi so it enables you to gamble with any sort of bankroll you might have or even with the faucet they offer.
21538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much BTC have you gambled? (anonymous on: August 26, 2015, 03:33:48 AM
I lost around 3 BTC in dice sites . but I really don't care too much about what I put in. I play for fun, not to become rich.
bullshit, if he says gambling is not to seek riches, Cheesy

believe it or not, not everybody has the delusion of getting rich through gambling so a lot of the players on gambling sites are doing it just for the fun of it. i can't see what is the fun in gambling dice though but it is a thing.
21539  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Lazy Mode] Looking for no deposit required bonus on: August 25, 2015, 02:01:13 PM
i think you have too keep an eye out for the new gambling sites, because they always have good promotional giveawys and most of the time they don't require deposit to get that bonus.

playtodos is doing such giveaways in games and rounds section, not sure if it is still going on:
check the thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1126181.0
21540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling on: August 25, 2015, 01:55:23 PM
i feel like all the gambling games like poker and similar games, you have better chances of winning in comparison to dice. besides it is way more fun to play poker instead of running a script or auto bet on a dice and watch your bitcoins melt away.
