Probably Allcrypt. or Bittrex Just checked bittrex, volume of trade on cgb is 0. Is there any exchange with active cgb trading going on? Cryptsy usually has some volume. Lately the volume has been constantly low. CGB is always on the low volume page of coinmarketcap as well. I guess that's why it's called bullion not coin  |

Considering the valuation of Darkcoin, It's blatently apparent to me that privacy is a legitimate and real concern across all people who use crypto's - and honestly, it makes perfect sense. Bitcoin after all, has most value on the deep web which likely consists of less then legal use. There's also the entire topic of "decentralization" and breaking free from the prying eyes of governing bodies.
I can't help but wonder if this is something the dev team for NEM have taken into deep consideration, because all the signs point to demand for a more anonymous platform.
I think a pure anonymous currency will never make it through the digital age. As sad as it is - the regulators will always fuck it up. I think if they could remove cash - they would. I myself have gone through the lengthy process of truly anonymizing bitcoin multiple times and boy would I have loved an easier solution but I just don't see it being accepted. I do however think that services can to their part in respecting privacy and that is something we can enforce for NEM (once we have a bit of leverage). We can also still add anonymous payments to NEM. It's not something that you either implement at start or forget about it. |

Can someone please explain the recent price development? Looking at all the effort put in CGB lately by the CGB core team and community i don't see why the volume/price is way to low (are the strong hands holding because of POS?)...
Tough to say... However, work continues  We will be launching some exciting new marketing campaigns in the next couple of weeks to aid in CGB's exposure and will have an update on the new client (major overhaul) in the coming weeks. May is shaping up to be an exciting month and we will continue to build on the established groundwork throughout June leading up to a celebration of CGB's first birthday on June 27th! We have less than 8 weeks until the birthday bash and lots of fun planned so grab a seat and join in! Nice, I'm still holding onto my 1.5CGB. As far as I can tell, no reason to sell now. I wish we can have a feature that would automatically convert our NEM to USD for purchases online.

The guess about the price of 4 or 0.2 BTC. First let Dev launch coin. Then the market will. Auctions will occur before the launch so guessing will have to as well I'm really curious to see if people are really willing to pay as much for a stake as they have already bid in this thread. My guess is that few of them will put their money where they mouth is but we'll see |

I agree here. We are trying to move away from the massive data closets of wasted energy, promoting a multipool that waste energy to get nem is something I am not supportive of. We had the same thing at mintcoin: we are promoting sustainable development, how could this be compatible with multipool? Congratulation to refuse this! Sooooo, I can explain this but not in one short post. I will qoute Martin Luther King Jr. who was well versed in learning how to fight a system that he disagreed with. In the Letter from Birmingham Jail, he goes on to explain why this needs to be done. This letter was widely read and very influential in him winning the Nobel Peace Prize. Basically, if there is a system that we don't like, we need to do something about it. Mining is wasteful and unproductive. We could go and burn down the mining factories but that isn't exactly cool. To actually join the miners and mine POS creating conflict in their system and then also try to convince other POW miners to turn and mine POS is the most non-violent way of bringing an end to the system. Maybe sometime I will explain this in more detail, but I am very busy this week. But basically left to their own accords without being challenged, the miners will keep on mining just as the racist whites left to their own accord would have kept on enslaving and abusing blacks. ... I don't think everyone mining POS coins will bring down the mining industry. Most of the miners don't give a flying fart about the coin they are mining. They aren't in to support the network but to dump the coins afterwards for a profit. If they get NEM instead of btc, ltc, ftc or whatnot they will just dump NEM afterwards. I don't see how on earth that would create "conflict in their system". Can you elaborate on that ? |

not yet, probably won't start until the open Alpha since we want to avoid scam accusation. good idea! any plans on how the auction will be run? will you hold off on auctioning a couple stakes until just prior to nem launch? i think thats when you will get a huge amount of interest and much higher price! edit still looking for pledges towards the multipool! i have a very strong plan but need pledges and a dev still.. it needs to be stand alone nem pool now in order to implement the full plan! only 440k pledged so far 300k from 3 generous people so i think we can do much much better seeing as we have 3k stake holders! We had discussion within NEM core dev, and nem core dev* is almost unanimously against multipool. but as utopianfuture noted, there is possibility, for getting funds from ecosystem and/or promotional funds. i had an idea! (again) lol
have a competition for news outlets (bitcoin magazine, coin desk, cryptocoinsnews ect)
prize of 1 stake split 6:3:2 = 1st 2nd 3rd place
for best article written and published about what nem is, the amazing work going into nem, and where/what nem plans to be in the future.
we could use the new marketing guy(s) or a dev to do interviews with the news outlets to give them a real indepth idea of whats going on!
the upside is these news outlets will them have a fair amount of nem and want to post more articles to help spread the word about there new investment
have links to all the articles posted here so that everyone(only stake holders to prevent gaming) can bote on the best article.
the article must be tweeted also as a requirement for entry into the competition!

I think setting up an email interview between the developers and a cryptocurrency news website is a great idea. They'd probably write an article on NEM regardless, without the incentive of a stake reward to be honest; they're always looking for new stories. However, this is something to think about more seriously when there is a working alpha, or perhaps at release. Then the developers will have concrete facts to talk about and show off, including a whitepaper etc. My problem with things like that is we're paying them to write about us. Our goal should be to catch their attention (without money) and be interesting enough so they'll want to write about us. |

Announcement: On behalf of NEM dev. team I would like to invite qualified candidates to apply to the position of a marketing manager for NEM.
Qualifications:
- experiences with crypto currency communities.
- familiarity with marketing strategies of different crypo promoting group including Bitcoin, Doge, Blackcoin, Peercoin, NXT.
- good at English writing for promotional materials.
Requirements:
- can spend at least 20 hours per week on NEM related promotional tasks.
- can volunteer for NEM related works.
- being a NEM stakeholder is preferable (not necessarily one right now but should be one over the long-term).
- can formulate a long term strategy as well as individual promotional projects for NEM.
Benefit:
- This is not a temporary hire but you will be a member of NEM development team (while we can pay for specific tasks) and can benefit as such. You will work in association with me as well as other NEM core developers in our many future endeavors.
Please send me a P.M describing your relevant experiences and I will contact you for further interviews. This is very important position for NEM, so I expect the selection process will take sometimes but hopefully we will have the position filled before NEM alpha release.
I would prefer to set up this important position with two people, each half of the stake in the beginning, but may raising with good work. That would ensure the expectations to themselves. We would have a full time marketing with fully 40 instead of 20 Hours and also the most important thing I guess, is that two brains are much more creative in having ideas and finding solutions, than one alone. All that together would give a great base for the best results, I'm sure. It's not like that person will have to do everything without any help. We got many stakeholders that are (hopefully) willing to help puting plans into action that that person comes up with |

I'd be interested in that as well. Are there some confirmed FACTS besides awesome positive distribution yet?  Not everything is publicly known yet but the most important thing is PoI (Proof of Importance). The algo is not 100% finished so you'll have to wait for the whitepaper for details. |

Let's take a step back and think about what the actual process is. People are collecting transactions and build blocks to extend the blockchain. This is to secure the network. Most people do it so they can collect the fees. Now what single word describes this aptly ? Imho there are 3 possible aspects to go for: - building of the blockchain: bookkeeping, accounting, reporting, block building, ledger keeping, recording, ...
- collecting fees: fee collecting, encash, levy, ...
- supporting/securing the network: validating, ...
I'm sure people can think of better words I just wanted to outline what should imho be kept in mind. |
