Ryan's comin' back around. I especially liked: "I’m increasingly convinced that Wences et al have been right all along with bitcoin as a value store (reserve) emerging as its hidden-in-plain-sight killer app." Duh - we've been saying that for years in this thread!....but it's easy for the VC crowd to get caught up in all the other hype for a while, I suppose. Of course... if you've missed the boat, you don't want it to be true. It's become increasingly easier (cheaper) to get into the boat, though... so maybe some of the startup-investors (or startups themselves) manage to increase their "pure BTC side-bets" and the tides are turning.

Only had a brief look but some interesting nuggets of info. This was a long time ago in the Bitcoin world but shows the IMF had put some time into studying it early on and measured up its potential impact. I cherrypicked two bits from p20. "Second, regulating Bitcoin falls squarely within the IMF’s goals["/b]"As such, the IMF could require member nations to pay part of their subscription quota with Bitcoins. 160 This would require member nations to purchase Bitcoins independently"omfg. Who do I need to call to make this happen?

Nothing is more funny to a bull than the OKcoin bear that got margin called today for 31,000 BTC/3 million dollars. His wife is gonna kill him. You need to have some guts to go 10x leverage with $3 mill tho, gotta give him that. was it 10x or 100x?

well in the last chart i can see a detailed graphic of long term stable and rise to 500 dollars in 2 years the BTC but with some flocutations even in ending of years
btc definitely flocutates too much, still.

How are the shorts holding up?
quite well: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2Fzy1hnq4.png&t=663&c=Kl9IhoVoCx0P3Q) no squeezing on finex yet... not to be expected anyway. Just a $10 move so far. $242-$245 I'd bet. I'm thinking much higher ($320 to $350, maybe even higher), but that's totally unfounded in any rational thought.

If bitcoins goes to $1000, I won't wait for a second and wont have any second or third thought on my mind.. I will just go and dump all my bitcoins ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) all 3 of them?

quite bullish outlook ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) . What would it look like should a central bank decide to acquire a stash of BTC? Would that be a public policy decision made transparent before the market operation is going to be conducted?

No kidding, this guy was slaughtered on the alter of doom and it was a major shot across the bow of the bearmobile. If it can happen to this guy, it could happen to anyone. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) His mistake was not the shorting, it was the insane leverage he used. Also you don't know how often it worked for him... he might be well in the green in aggregate. This can happen to anyone with highly leveraged positions, yes. Not just bears.

It has been coiling for a while now...
My feeling is that we are waiting for clarity on GBTC. It either goes live and we jump, or we get another "two week" ETA from Barry Silbert and we tank to test 220 & below...
But hey, wtf do I know?
BTW... my last post was removed for some reason... not sure why.
I personally couldn't care less about anything that requires sucking the USA federal governments dick in regards to Bitcoin. I'll be excited when the average American or world citizen can transfer wealth from their country to a "safe zone" within a hour using Bitcoin as a tool without worry of the market taking a shit on itself in the process. If counties don't want to see the wealth leak from their country, then they won't rob their citizens... doesn't feel like I'm asking for that much! ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) now that's the spirit

Yes Gentlemen I predict the price to be somewhere in the 0-300 range of American Dollars.
you need to put a timeframe

This is very bad, you should rather keep your funds in btc to be able to stop this centralized government to take from your hard earned money, you should have learned something from this and try not leave big amount of money next time, that will give a chance to these centralized powers to take away your money.
While I love bitcoin myself and do use it for wealth preservation purposes, I cannot really recommend it. One has to acknowledge that at this stage the volatility and risk make Bitcoin unsuitable for "saving". Sure, it could be part of a mix and there could well be huge upside, but I wouldn't suggest to anyone I love to put in more than 10% of their life savings... it's still a huge gamble. Just look at the last 1.5 years.

I'm not sure, but I have a feeling that when "the peoples money" is waiting for Wall Street to bring high valuation or a killer app from VC-funded startups enabled by government regulation to bring mass adoption then something's not quite right. I think the killer app is already there. It's called "censorship resistant teleportable sound money". If people don't use it, then either the people have no need or they don't know they have a need for it. I think it's the latter. So we might need more education... but when talking to people about money we often hit psychological barriers. Here's an interesting talk by Molineux given at the Texas Bitcoin conference touching on this topic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iGoq22jMYA

Jesus, I have to say US government workers seem to earn quite a salary.
