I'm in doubt if I should start leaving red trust on users who plagiarize my text.

Anyway, I decided against doing that. Sorry LoyceV, you're gonna have to make do with only 50 merits from me...
"only" ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Just a thought: if you were to send 40 Merit to userX, and then send 12 Merit to his known alt, you're exceeding 50 without getting an error warning. People send you plenty, more than enough, don't they? Not only are they halved, they are sitting in surplus.. I can't complain about a shortage of Merit indeed ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) I must admit hI've always had a hard time sending out more than I receive, but I'm working on tipping the scale. I've sent merits to perhaps 500+ different users Make that 698 as of last Friday: 1. 5412 Merit sent by suchmoon (#234771) to 698 unique users in 1609 transactions See suchmoon's full Merit history. Merits are not scarce This is indeed a common misconception. I think (but I'm not sure) this is what eddie13 means too.

<Serves no purpose other than to halve (1/2) the amount of smerits that could possibly be sent to new/periodic participants..
I'm pretty sure I can get my source sMerits increased if I manage to spend them all, so I see no reason not to send them to higher ranks. In the past days, I've emptied my source sMerits for the first time ever, I now have 345 sMerits "of my own" to distribute, and if I ever manage to do that, I'll PM theymos and ask to increase my source amount.

I am going to take a wild guess here and predict that the next member will be a legendary one that does not actually need your merit... It's not about needing merit, it's about deserving it! If we'd give merit to anybody who "needs" it, the merit system would become useless.

What exactly did you expect, when you send money to a user with -32 red trust, who advertises with a locked thread? This thread only adds to the pile of evidence, more red trust isn't going to change anything, and you won't get your money back either.
|
|
|
Newbie with 1 merit worth of $10, and jr.member worth of $30? That was insane holy crap!
It's more or less what theymos predicted: Merit sales, transfers to aliases, back-and-forth trading, etc. are not much of an issue. All illegitimate merit will decay, and will account for a tiny and very expensive fraction of the total merit economy. It's basically a rounding error; fight it where convenient, but waste no sleep over it. Add the fact that it's very likely the accounts don't even exist after "buying" them, and I don't expect account sales to cause that much spam anymore.

I had some recent reports marked as bad and I am a bit unsure when reporting. Don't worry about it, it literally says this on the report page: Do not worry about your accuracy too much
|
|
|
Have you reported it? I just did, saying: "Insubstantial thread", and I expect it to be gone as soon as a Mod sees the report. Or are moderators waiting for people to report? Of course! Mods can't possibly read all posts/topics. Meta doesn't have it's own dedicated Mod(s), that means only a few Global Moderators have to take care of this and many other boards.

LoyceV is so close to becoming the 2nd member of it's kind after theymos. He is actually 13 Merits away for reached the 2000 Merits with 1000 earned Merits. That means I'm 12 Merits away from campaigning to remove all airdropped Merit, after which theymos and I will have our own private Legendary club ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) More seriously: I never expected to earn this much Merit in 8 months, it's very good for my ego and a great token of appreciation on this forum. I'd have to admit though that I've earned many of my Merit in Meta, and an easy topic started in Meta * easily earns much more Merit than a topic that's much more work started in Bitcoin Technical Support. As for the word "spambie": it sound much better than pajeet, but the latter can be of any rank. * I recently moved this topic to the Beginners board, but the majority of the Merits were earned in Meta.

Damn, LoyceV broke my nice streak of 4s... ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.snag.gy%2FcH83pP.jpg&t=663&c=zRqkN1pvcXgd7g) Sorry ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) I only saw this now. Since you've hit the limit, you should/could make your own version of the Vulpine Order of Merit. But wait until I no longer qualify, I don't want to suggest this so that I'm the first to reach it. Which brings up an interesting dilemma - is it ok to send merits to LoyceMobile after this? I think the limitation was meant to limit abuse, so you can't instantly bump a Newbie to Full Member. Assuming that's the reason, meriting an alt account shouldn't be a problem. But LoyceMobile doesn't make many high quality posts. Mainly because I really dislike typing on a phone, editing quotes is terrible, and it keeps writing stuff I didn't intent to write. Which brings up an interesting dilemma - is it ok to send merits to LoyceMobile after this?
I don't think so. You might forget that you already merited him for a specific post and thereby give him double the credit he deserves ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) If you put it this way, it sounds bad. My interpretation was that suchmoon would merit a post that deserves it. An alt-account's post shouldn't be merited on behalf of a post made by the main account, that would be bad.

If this is the first and last mistake why the ban is not lifted What part of "permanent" isn't clear to you? Luckily, rule breakers don't get a vote.

Hompgraphs are back again It's not much, there are only a few that replaced just the "a", this is different than the ones that replaced many characters in many words.

So anyone can just give out a red trust arbitrarily or at his or her own discretion...wow Correct. But only a few people are on DT. And you won't find many people who disagree with Vod's ratings in general. From what I've seen, he's very willing to remove some ratings again after a while. I'll love to see him come into this thread and state his biased reason for giving me a red trust..
Didn't he do that already? See your trust summary. A funny fact is these days higher ranked members throw merit about to other higher ranked members for any sarcastic comment against the so called 'merit beggars'. Sarcasm is a great way to show that you understand what you're talking about. And after many times friendly responses, people do become sarcastic if users keep making dumb posts.

The quote is the wrong way around now.
Please review the post again. I did a correction after he gave me the correct format. It's still incorrect.

Maybe it's began - LoyceV's deMerit deActivity source application ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Lol ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Your Activity was the same as your Post count on BPIP: 1014. Since 72 * 14 = 1008, my guess is one of your old posts got deleted, and that post was the only post you had within a 2 week Activity period. Therefore, 1008 is now your maximum Activity.

Can you guess the rank?? It's my own creation and I called it Elite Legendary How about self-made Legendary? I'm more than happy to ranked up you with my sMerit. Don't "waste" your sMerit on me, finding a few quality Newbies does the forum more good. I may think sometimes you will catch the theymos with Merits If others will stop giving away Thanksgiving Merits to theymos ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) I'd be proud if I overtake satoshi ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Even though satoshi did it without posting for 8 years. I'll never reach theymos-levels, he earned 1391 Merit just by announcing the Merit system ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

For me its "please" (for some reasons)
I use it all the time when I report posts: - Spambot/bumpbot doing a homograph attack. Please nuke.
- Account farmer using at least 3 accounts (~names~) to post useless crap, sometimes in the same thread, to gain activity. Please consider nuking all 3.
- Spambot, please nuke
- Shitposter/bumpbot, please nuke.
- Spambot. It has just 1 post, but 18 different accounts post the same spam. Please nuke.
- A whole army of insubstantial shitposts from bump bots, please consider banning them all
![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) - Spambot spamming Bot.exe. Please nuke.
- Spammer, spambot and/or shill account. Please nuke.
- Low-effort posting from many different accounts, posting the exact same crap. Please check the thread.
- This guy opens many useless threads, please check his post history a bit.
- Insubstantial post. All his posts look like a Synonyms-replacement-bot. Please consider nuking him.
- And many, many more
![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)
I'm very polite to the Mods ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) KYC
For a moment there I thought: "What's wrong with chicken?"
