2181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 15, 2022, 08:06:41 AM
I managed to hit all 3 of my bets yesterday. Cavs with the spread. Nets to win outright. Then a multi-bet with the Nets and Wolves winning. I’m not sure who I’ll take today. Maybe the Hornets with the spread and the Pelicans to win outright. I feel pretty good about the Pelicans being able to beat the Spurs, but the Hornets game could really go either way in my opinion. I feel like the Hornets have a pretty good chance to cover the spread though as long as their young guys don’t choke under pressure. I don’t think they will.
Cheers to you then. I didn't win anything at all at those games. Got to get it back now.
I believe the Spurs could win this against the Pelicans. They are struggling and it was the McCollum trade that made it possible for them to enter the play-in. Spurs on the other hand had won 3 of their 4 meeting against this team. Ingram's status is out but noted as probable.
Spurs +5.5

On the other side, I am betting for the Atlanta Hawks -5.5. Good luck to all.

Atlanta Hawks was a cool bet for us, as if we have seen that they can cover the spread and that's what they did and have some for spare.

That was too easy for the Hawks, they dominated the whole game and if you bet on them, you won't feel the thrill while watching because you already know your bet will win, that's what you called "easy money". Anyway, they'll be up next against the Cavaliers, I think they'll still dominate seeing how the Nets dominated the Cavaliers too.

At least when we see the game, we know that the chance of our bet to win is huge.  Grin

So I might stick with them on the road, again Trae Young doesn't flap and will show Garland who is the top point guard here. Young knows the gravity of this kind of game and seems to be raising up every stake with his performance. So I will stick with the Hawks, -2.5.
2182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 15, 2022, 07:40:42 AM
There are just incredible playoff matchups waiting to start in a short time period. For example, Golden State Warriors - Denver Nuggets can be one of them. I think that Warriors have a very difficult matchup already now. Nuggets are very strong special thanks to Jokic. If he maintains his solid performance, I believe they would make big difficulties for their opponent and even eliminate them.
I don't like this match-up because both teams have my support to meet at the Western Conference Finals but I guess it can't be helped.
Jokic had been phenomenal this season shouldering the weight of the Nuggets team to get to this point. While the Warriors' bench players stepped up their game to avoid a losing streak while most of their starters are rotationally suffering from different injuries.
The focal point of the Nuggets is a center, the Warriors have their guards. It's not really a good match but if it's Jazz or Suns we could see a battle in the paint. Let's see how Draymond and Looney will handle Jokic and their ex-teammate Cousins.

I think it will be more on Draymond task to stop Jokic in this series. For sure he will have to used mind games here, we've seen the Dwight was able to distract Jokic during the Lakers championship run in the bubble. And knowing how Draymond is as far as this kind of clutch game, he will used everything at his disposal just to have a certain advantage including playing psyche war against the big fellow. Jokic has a history of being hard headed though, and who knows, just one infraction just throw him off in this series.
2183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: About Ethereum merge on: April 15, 2022, 07:20:02 AM
It could happen, Ethereum could lose the 2nd position after Bitcoin in market cap. It all depends on how Vitalik brings Ethereum, POS which is considered a solution for high transaction fees, but until now the problem of high transaction fees is still a problem on the Ethereum network.

I don't think that they will lose their 2nd position, although I must admit that this is a problem. POS is the supposedly solution to the high fees and with a lot of roll out and improvement, still the problem persists. Not sure what the reasons though, but I have a hunch that too many validators are taking control now. Vitalik has his roadmap as far as POS goes, maybe he still have something in his sleeves to make things work.

But for the Spurs, it was a complete disaster, as they allowed the Pelicans to take a commanding lead and trying to play catch up is very hard specially if you are away from home.
2185  Economy / Speculation / Re: If Dow Jones falls 80%, bitcoin will fall 99% ? on: April 14, 2022, 11:18:32 AM
It is remarkable that during all these 13 bitcoin years (2009-2021) we have witnessed no big stock market crash - the fiat money mass has only increased and increased.

During this period there have been no years like 1929 or even 2008. But when the last remarkable stock market fall emerged (in March 2020), bitcoin fell much more than major stock indexes...

How sharply will bitcoin price react to the next Big Crash ?

Maybe it's because that we have learned so much in the previous crash that we somewhat sees the sign, thus government and traditional market mitigating the risk.

So I doubt that Dow Jones will fall to 80% in the future despite what is happening around us right now. War, inflation, and other geo-politics. It is not possible, and so as far as crypto goes, 99%? Covid was one of the worst and we didn't even see like 80% downturn in both market.
2186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 14, 2022, 09:49:47 AM
The Hawks was just too much for the Hornets. I thought it would be a closer match and it looked to be that way after the first two quarter but Hawks just controlled the game in the second half.

Next up is the Pelicans and Spurs. With both Ingram and McCollum on the floor, Spurs will have a rough time guarding/defending. I'm leaning towards a NOP win.

The Hornets simply didn't have a chance as all of the Hawks' starting line-up played well in this game. Capela made a double-double, and he just dominated the paint with 17 rebounds. In addition, De'Andre Hunter scored 22 points, including 16 points in the 3rd quarter. I would also note Young's performance as he also made a double-double even though he clearly had problems with three-pointers in this game.
Hunter had the biggest contribution and key to their win. Stepping up their game. That's what the Hawks need even during the season but they cannot find it on anyone but here they go, a new discovery. They took advantage of the small lineup of the Hornets dominating below the rim and that made a huge difference in each quarter.
54 Hawks rebounds against 41 of the Hornets, 31 assists against 22 and Hawks are also careful with the ball with just 10 turnovers. But there's one more step before they can go to the playoffs.
Cavaliers have giant players so the same strategy won't work.

I was just able to watch the first 2 quarters and I said to myself that the Hawks are going to win this big against the Hornets inside. And Trae was really dominating early, assists and scoring and it seems that Hunter was a big contributor as they really took a lot of rebounds, and I agree that the small lineup didn't help the Hornets and the Hawks takes advantage of that with a huge win.
2187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we entering the era of CBDCs? on: April 14, 2022, 09:27:45 AM
Probbaly some delaying it due to its potential of avoiding such launders. Just a guess! But of course everyone a fair shot on having a business using their own CBDC.
The problem is that most countries looked at the technology as a joke and had some small research done and decided not to move ahead with creating a CBDC. Some others decided to let others be pioneers and see if it fails for them then jump on board.
Lets not forget that Venezuela created their Petro and it didn't take off. That may have changed some decisions in other countries.

Petro though was a complete scam, if I'm not mistaken, it was supposedly back up by oil and by the Russian, however, they debunked it already and all the money that was raised was nowhere to be found. So this is a case of CBCD failure in my opinion. And maybe other countries that follow learn by Maduro's mistakes that's why countries like China (Digital Yuan) can be considered as success because they are very careful on their decision to roll out. There was a time that they just roll it out to some small provinces in China just to test the viability of it.
2188  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN will rise on: April 13, 2022, 06:02:06 AM
I also fear that this could happen, if  break the support that is at $42000 then it will fall towards $39000 but I doubt very much that I will be able to break the $39000, it is more likely that it will fall and as soon as it touches $39000 to  $41000 it starts to rise again because from what I see this support at $39000-$41000 is so strong that it generates a big rejection which makes the price go back up to test the resistance which is at $47000. it may also be the case that the price is oscillating between $42000 to $47000 for a long time like in the past until it decides to start having a big increase towards $60,000

There is no support at 42,000 and never has been. After breaking the support level at 44,000, the next support is trending, which now represents support somewhere around 40,000:

Now the price is heading there. And if we manage to break through the trend line, then the next support will not be at the level of 39,000, but at the level of 37-38k, because it was there that the big price consolidation took place in early March.

Yes, and so if we even goes down hard to $37k-$38k, it could still work on our way and be favorable because many are going to accumulate at this price range and perhaps pushes the price once again.

However, it seems that the bulls are not giving up the position of $40k easily, when the price goes down at $39,xxx, it's just for a brief moment and then the price will go up again to $40k, just like we are seeing in the last 4 hours range.
2189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: No condition is permanent in crypto on: April 13, 2022, 05:06:46 AM
"The only permanent here is its volatility". Market price doesn't stay although it could be ranging in x amount but it doesn't mean it will not move north for a better price or south when the price is going down hard.

So again, we should learn this from the beginning and at least to get ourselves immune or not be affected by it especially if you have plans to be here for so long.
2190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Canelo Alvarez vs Dmitry Bivol - May 7 on: April 13, 2022, 01:15:33 AM
Majority of the vote, voted for Alvarez but I wouldn't surprise with that I look at his footwork and agility training as well as real match footage you would see that he is really a good fighter but Bivol is not also an easy opponent with a 19-0 standing with a 58% KO ratio.

Let's see, Canelo has defeated plenty of undefeated fighters in the past, so this is not new to him, and the fact that he agrees to fight Bivol, that tells us that he can handle the power of Bivol. I still think he would win this fight, maybe not by KO but his boxing skills will dominate.

I think it's not that he can handle the power of Bivol, it's more of his talent against the best of this division. He has conquered this once, and for sure he knows that he can do it again even against the best of this division. That's why he is willing to fight the champion which is Bivol. And again, his granite chin can hold against the best of 168 lbs or even at 175 against Kovalev. So I wouldn't be surprised if Bivol's power doesn't have any effect on Canelo.

Canelo already has experience fighting in Bivol's weight class.

Once they clash, he can definitely handle Bivol's power. On the other hand, Bivol likewise will do the same. They are both equal in terms of strength based on my observation and people just think Canelo will overpower Bivol because they only know Canelo by name and Bivol is not popular for them.

Bivol's achievement is impressive and if he is just nothing, he shouldn't have those good records. This fight is equal and who's the one be able to stand for long will be the winner.

Yes, he fought Kovalev as 175 lbs, Kovalev was tall and obviously the bigger guy and it took Canelo 11 rounds to finished him. And it is an old Kovalev, but against Bivol, who is also in his prime, so this is really a good test for Canelo because he said in the past that he will not fight anymore with this weight category. But I guess everything has change now for him.
2191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 13, 2022, 12:42:25 AM
Also riding the Clippers +3.5 train, even though this one could go either way it's still tough to go against a team with more playoff experience plus the Clippers looked a bit refreshed at the end when they got PG back in the lineup. I just think there's more value on the side of the Clippers that's why others are going with them instead of the Timberwolves even though they have the home advantage.

True, that's why the line didn't change a bit, still Clippers at +3.5 because of their playoff experience.

And it's a big boost for them to have PG back, as they have won games and won big with him waxing hot early. Although the Wolves have the home advantage, still against a well experience team like the Clippers, those are going to be negated.
2192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 12, 2022, 11:26:27 PM
I do not know who could replace Vogel but I know that it wouldn't matter as long as this is their roster. I am supportive of getting veterans, the problem wasn't the fact that they had older people, the problem is that AD was constantly injured and Westbrook played horribly all season. If they could trade westbrook, that would be insane thing to see but I doubt they would be even capable of getting anyone for him, the only reasonable idea right now is Wall, and that is not going to improve them at all.

I think they just need to realize that they are screwed for the upcoming seasons and just focus on rebuilding from here on out, they can't build a team that could win anything with what they have.

For sure they will find someone to replace Vogel and overhaul the coaching system in Lakers.

But I don't like the idea of John Wall trade as well, again based on their previous goal, getting experience players is not a good thing, formula is not working.

If they will have to build around James and Davis, get a young team, or just players that are not overrated.
2193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Errol Spence Jr vs. Yordenis Ugas 3-Belt Welterweight Unification Match on: April 12, 2022, 01:10:00 AM
Going back to the topic, the outcome of this fight would also dictate the possible fight of Crawford, and if Ugas would win, I think it will be easy to make the fight happen because if Spence will win, they'll play the purse sharing issue.

Terrence Crawford is a free agent. After his fight with Shawn Porter I thought he would sign with DAZN right away. Official DAZN fb page was posting a lot of Crawford pictures congratulating his victory over Porter while there was zero PBC or Showtime post. And DAZN is obviously the richest boxing network right now. But lately, there are rumors circulating that PBC is offering Crawford a deal. First he fights Danny Garcia and then later he can have Spence. I am curious though, why the need for Crawford to fight Danny Garcia first before Spence. Crawford is turning 36 next year, not a prime age anymore. So I am still hoping Ugas can pull an upset this weekend.

Yes, he is a free agent now because after he fought with Shawn Porter he didn't re-sign again for the Top Rank for the fact that Bob Arum didn't gave him the a fight against current heavy names in the industry. Although the rumors weren't confirmed if Crawford really had a deal with PBC but Eddie Hearn of DAZN believes that these two had a deal.

Eddie Hearn Believes Terence Crawford Signing With PBC

Maybe Crawford is just waiting for the result of this match, and if ever Spence jr wins, most likely he will sign with PBC an then request for a fight with Spence.

So Spence can't make any excuses because it's his promotional company that are going to insists for this mega-fight. For sure the split might be amicable for both sides and Spence can't run anymore.

Put my live bet on the Bulls +16.5 at a still very attractive odds of 1.98.
Lucky! You predicted it at the exact amount. Nice. Cheers!

Hah, barely made it, Bulls though is a disappointment in their last 10 games.

Was able to get the -6.5 for the Warriors as well, although the Spurs was able to stay and keep up with them, they are now on a 8 point cushion and this could balloon entering 3rd quarter which I think where the Warriors are going to pull and have a good separation.
2195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: GGG vs Murata - Reschedule on: April 10, 2022, 12:52:56 AM

Canelo's turn now so that their trilogy with GGG will be sealed, his task is a little easier than that of GGG I think.

We'll have to see that and maybe we will have a big surprise like this fight, I just noticed that GGG is kinda slow and those body punches coming from Murata have an impact on Golovkin's movement.

I used to see GGG making marks on his opponents in the early rounds but on this one he has a lot of misses, in the latter rounds GGG hit the target, not because of the speed of his punches but it's because of Murata's lack of head movement and weak defense, Murata is an offensive fighter but when he needs to defend, he lacks the skill to do it.

Exactly, not much head movement from Murata that lead to his destruction. Also, the body shots of Murata seemed to have affected GGG in the early rounds that is why I'm saying that GGG would lose to Canelo because the latter is more of a body punches and moves a lot which he could hit if we based our speculation on his fight last night but we knew that their team will adjust but with him at 40 years old, preparation in the gym with regards to that aspect will not work on him anymore IMHO.

Yeah, the body shot was very effective early for Murata, and maybe the ring rust affected GGG early that's why he seems to be can't get off. But once he started to get hot and feeling it, from round 5 onwards, it's all GGG. But I don't think this version of him can beat a prime Canelo and it will be a brutal beating from the hands of Alvarez if they are going to face in the trilogy.
2196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: April 09, 2022, 02:51:24 AM
but you just have to realize that the fight with Ruso Bivol will take place, so here it is very difficult for things to move in another way, I think that boxing fans deserve to be give this fight.

The Alvarez-Bivol has a different case since that fight will continue despite the ongoing conflict although there's a possible sanction that will be made turning the fight from a title match to a non-title match. Even if there's pressure on Russian athletes, no delay or cancellation of the fight will be done.

Here in Casimero's case, once the lawsuit against him is strong, he might not be allowed by WBA to fight although small chance for that to happen. April 22 is the date. There should be any notifications for any changes about the fight but none up to now like others are saying here.

But there is no update regarding the case so this is still a go. Unless the camp of Casimero has officially announce that they will have to cancel it because of the ongoing case. And it's about a couple of weeks from now so I'm not expecting any surprises from Casimero's camp. He can face the music after this fight and settle it and go on with his career.
2197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 09, 2022, 01:37:51 AM
^^ Well you can't blame someone who put some blame on Vogel. He is the anchor of the team so he has some liability as well as how the Lakers turn out to be this season.

I think this is one of Lebron's disappointing season as a player, too much hype and expectation on the team they build around him and Davis, but it sucks, lol. They are now back to the drawing board next season and maybe this will be his final run as a Laker.
2198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 09, 2022, 01:02:26 AM
Put my live bet on the Bulls +16.5 at a still very attractive odds of 1.98.

Bulls already losing some ground, Lavine and DeRozan are playing but it seems they have lost the momentum in their games and chemistry, losing 3 straight, 4-6 in their last 10 games and barely making it to the 6th spot in the East.
2199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Donaire II discussion on: April 08, 2022, 04:50:05 AM
^^ We can only speculate that a fighter can still fight and put up his best during his last performance. And with that said, we can see that Donaire has still the power in both hands as he was able to knock out his opponent and then get the belt easily. So for now, let's say that his age will not be a factor until we see him in the ring against Inoue. If he still has it, then it will be a good fight and he might have a chance to upset the Monster, if not, then he could be knock out in the early rounds because Inoue will be too much.
2200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING]: RYAN GARCIA vs EMMANUEL TAGOE - April 9 on: April 08, 2022, 01:34:17 AM
As per Ryan Garcia, he is now working with a jab, he admitted that he hasn't used it in the past. But if he can developed this one, like his mentor and manager, Oscar Dela Hoya, it will be a different version of Garcia.

Just imagine this, he is tall and have the length advantage and with that jab, no one can get inside of him so that will be a very dangerous and difficult fighter to beat. So let's see if he is going to take advantage of his jab in this fight.
