What? LTC is your dirty little secret to success in the age of Bitcoin ASICs? LTC is old news, and isn't really going anywhere. It hasn't been going anywhere for a long time, now. The only reason it's even still around is because it was the most popular of the alt-coins, which isn't really saying much.
I know, it's this terrible alternative currency that has made more more money than bitcoin mining has over the past 6 months.

Come to the litecoin party over at alt. chains, we need miners.

I should code something for this later this coming week, it shouldn't be too hard to do with python and dumping stdout.

Happens with my 7770 too mining litecoin, card is fine though
Bought 1x 6950, need one more 6950 or 6970
Im looking to spend $300 max on a new card, but Im planning to buy used. I was thinking a used 5970 (around $250), but should I get something else?
Dont want to spend much over $300, under preferably.
There are lots of 7950s for ~$290, the best is the gigabyte triple fan one. The 7950s will have a higher resale value and you get a 2-3 year warranty with them.

They work fine on my 7950s. Are you using the Windows build of reaper, or did you compile it yourself on unix?
For single card, 6990s get about 900 kh/s
Otherwise 6970s (~490 kh/s) or 7950s (~600 kh/s easy)

Updated guide for 700+ KH/s 7970 instructions
For anyone trying to do this, they just use a different core:memory ratio (0.57 instead of 0.68 for 7950) and memory overvolting to achieve these hash rates.
Eg core 900 mhz, core voltage 0.975v, memory 1575 mhz, memory voltage 1.6v (stock should hit this, though), thread_concurrency 21712
I'm guessing its what I put above. Amd had been working on driver fixes for the 7970 that improved performance, I'm guessing they're out now and it finally works okay with reaper
core speed 1080 mhz, mem 1600 mhz, thread_concurrency 21712, 24000 or 28000, aggression 20?
You're saying 3.5 gbs of ram, do you have the thread_concurrency even higher?

Okay. I will have to go to my cold wallet to grab the BTC, can I get it to you tomorrow? Just PM me your address.

Evga 460gtx 768mb, never mined on. $75 shipped? It'll cost me $15 to ship it at least.
I also have a gtx 570 that artifacts if you want to try to reflow it

I'm not sure if coblee is still developing for Litecoin right now (it'd be nice to get 0.8.0 for Litecoin already). But I think we need a way to propose modifications to the Litecoin protocol and vote on their implementation as a community, much like for bitcoin. Is there a wiki where we can put this stuff? Do you guys have ideas about things we should do for the protocol at all? I think one good one would be to change the difficulty adjustment algorithm to be mainly based on the last 3.5 days but also to take into account the last 10.5 days in the form of the linearly weighted average for block times. This would prevent difficultly coaster style manipulation as we've seen in the past, or at least discourage them.
