Danke trotzdem

Source code is available at github, Linux & Mac builds will be published soon.
And don't forget about ROI switch at 20 June 2013, less than 4 days remaining.
at this time I find only 4.2 and no 4.3 Source code for Linux...
BTW: what is ROI switch?
TIA
2183  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Avalon Technical Support Thread on: June 16, 2013, 04:36:04 PM
summer is coming and the temperatures are rising
which temperatures and fan speed do you have in Avalon (and which temperature outside)
I have now the lowest Frequency of 256 and
Code:
Fan1 Fan2 Fan3   Temp1   Temp2 Temp3
1200 3240 3120     32     -1     50

ambient temperature outside ~26° C but there are coming ~35° C  Huh
heatwave...

I finally got 19 USB Erupters mining using a Raspberry Pi running Minepeon.   Cheesy
The rest of them have been running for almost two days without a problem.
which USB HUB's do you use?
(and how much Sticks in one, how much current gives the PSU?, USB 2.0 or USB 3.0?)
2185  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Avalon Technical Support Thread on: June 16, 2013, 03:29:17 PM
is there any way to disable the blue led of the fan (with software)?
(in luci is:
Code:
LED Configuration:
Customizes the behaviour of the device LEDs if possible.
but how to disable?
TIA

bfgminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334 -O YourAddress           <----- this was working for me as of a day ago, does not work now....weird.

Something is seriously messed up, because none of my miners will connect....

here the same, does not work anymore...
2187  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BitMinter client (Win/Linux/Mac, NEW: BFL and Icarus FPGAs supported) on: June 16, 2013, 12:05:50 AM
So different miner clients, different USB ports, different USB hubs, all result in lots of errors..

I guess you could try them on a different computer, but it sounds like the devices themselves are having issues. Are they overclocked? Do they get very hot?

Does it make any difference if you just try to run 1 or 2 instead of so many at once?

I have tried it on a notebook and it works if I connect max. 3 Sticks there (Linux + Win); they are not overclocked; - I guess it has to do with the cheap HUB's and their PSU's that only give enough current at low temperatures?!
I hope I get next week the Anker USB 3.0 HUB and then this works correctly.
2188  Local / Biete / Re: [GB] USB ASIC miner - closed and completed on: June 15, 2013, 11:58:41 PM
@ewibit
3,5A ist schon etwas knapp, die miner sind mit 500-510mA angegeben,
also total ausgelastet, höhere Temp, uU billige Teile verbaut. ....
2189  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Block Erupter USB] In-Stock ASIC - 336 Mhash - Ready to Ship within USA!! on: June 15, 2013, 08:41:14 PM

Are you using cgminer?

The setup for this ASICMiner is

cgminer -o http://yourminingpool.com:port -u Username -p Password --icarus-options 115200:1:1 --icarus-timing 3.0=100 -S \\.\COM3 -S \\.\COM4 -S \\.\COM5    (or whatever you COM port is.)

Note this is on a windows base computer.

no I am on Linux, but I have tried it with win too; - it seems to be a Problem with the USB-(HUB,-timing,-PSU,-temperatur,-current,-...)
 Huh
2190  Local / Biete / Re: [GB] USB ASIC miner - closed and completed on: June 15, 2013, 08:36:02 PM
How many Sticks are on the hub? I got similar errors with the original PSU from the Hub, as it was too weak.
Powering the Hub with a PC-PSU helped.

I have had 7 Sticks (black one) on one hub running a few days fine; - the hub has a PSU with 3.5A -> and it should be enough (and has been enough for a few days)
after the errors then I tried another hub (3.5A), another port, cgminer different versions, and it was only possible with an old USB 1.0 hub (3.5A) to mine with 4 Sticks; - if I put more in any of the hubs -> error
I have got 3 more Sticks (red one) and it seems these are not working together with the black one
with 2 hubs and more then 4 Sticks it is no more possible to mine without errors
the only thing that changed is, that it was getting warmer because of summer
(maybe the PSU is to weak if it it gets a few degrees warmer?)

A couple of folks have changed the code to add a longer wait and the authors have it fixed in the git tree.  But the fix hasn't been released yet.  So you can compile the code yourself and test it or wait for the next release.
Sam
is it possible that this has the same reason:

a few days it has run with 7 Block erupter without Problems, then it has begun to error
it is the same hub as before, (I have changed nothing), then I tried another hub, another port, cgminer different versions, -> always errors
(Ubuntu 12.04)
TIA

That's a lot of errors. Could it be an issue with the USB hub? Have you tried whether it works with bfgminer?

a few days it has run with 7 Block erupter without Problems, then it has begun to error

with bfgminer I have not tried yet

2193  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Jalapeno Raspberry Pi @ 36 Watts - Delicious! on: June 15, 2013, 05:41:23 PM
Please solar power it, just to be the first and show it can be done with a little 50w panel...Cool

A 50 watt panel would only be enough to power it during the day, and probably not the whole day either.
I'd recommend a 200-300 watt panel, a deep-cycle battery around 80-100 amp-hours, and a charge controller - this way it could run 24/7 only on solar power, worst case scenario that battery could run it for at least a full 24 hours.
I have a 50w panel, but the costs are more at the deep-cycle battery; - does someone know any cheap source for this (perhaps in EU, or Import from Asia)
TIA

By the way, the cheap Manhattan 10-port USB works but I do not know if it can handle more than four. :S
I have the same 10-port USB HUB and I get this:

BitMinter client v1.4.0 beta2 is ready for testing.

New since beta1:
  • Corrected hashrate and runs smoother on ASICMiner Block Erupter USB
  • Fixed intermittent error messages on BFL ASICs
  • Better Mac OS X integration (proper screen menu and dock icon)

Please check it out:

Running 1.3.2 and they are block erupters.

I have an experimental alpha version at http://bitminter.com/alpha/alpha.jnlp

Maybe that works better?

I have tried both versions with the same result...
after it has worked 3 days in this constellation without problems now I have only errors
I have done replugging a few times (and yes it is a powered USB HUB..)
