2181  Economy / Speculation / Re: Challenge: if you really are a guru, post trades in real time on: March 21, 2014, 08:55:24 AM
just bought 250 LTC @ $16.93 USD - looking to hold for 24 hours or less.

EDIT LOL got raped on that one but luckily still holding 7 BTC shots so all good.

that pump has changed the trajectory of the exponential curve down swing, though it remains in tact. this is probably a good thing, because the broader the base, the harder the fall.

maybe though it will also take a bit longer than we might wish  Sad

EDIT - I will be adding to my short aggressively if it passes 3638 - that will mark the market buy order filled. already the best of the order has disappeared from the order book.
2183  Economy / Speculation / Re: Pump and Dump? Been watching the price the last hour or so... on: March 21, 2014, 07:46:32 AM
no, just a pump. you can only call it a pump and dump after the dump. you might call this a dump and pump though. and it could be a dump and pump and dump.

huobi breaking out of a wedge on the 15min chart.... could be a volatile hour coming up. So they say, wedges are terminal, to some degree.  so possibly we will return to 3650 before a larger move down.

^^ accurate aye  Grin

I wasnt expecting it to be this sharp though.

Im stepping aside until this totally loses momentum. maybe I can get it an a better price.

two large sell orders on bitfinex and bitstamp both 325 bitcoins. could be the same whale?
2186  Economy / Speculation / Re: How To Test BIP38 Encrypted Private Key Offline on: March 21, 2014, 06:26:57 AM
why dont you make a throw away paper wallet and test it online, then make another one with the same password that you will use for real funds?
2187  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: March 21, 2014, 05:55:34 AM
we still haven't seen any volume worth mentioning. I think the big move is yet to come. considering the proportions so far, I am now expecting it to pass 550.
2188  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't panic on: March 21, 2014, 12:48:03 AM
yeah I second that, the liquidity has been significantly low for a couple of weeks now. I dare say if the lack of demand is genuine, and even the larger investors have walked away, we are heading to new lows (only briefly)

No, news doesn't drive this market sir...... that is true of most markets especially bitcoin.
2191  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think the alt-coin crash is hurting bitcoin? on: March 21, 2014, 12:16:58 AM
Yes. I think nubs have been damaging their portfolios like ships over rocks in these slow and uninspiring times. the litecoin bubble hurt a lot of people, those who have been stung by a pump and dump will be timid to enter bitcoin.
2192  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: March 20, 2014, 11:21:00 PM
I agree, there are bears with their fingers on the trigger. I can feel it. it is not certain that that they will give in, but the chart looks very threatening right now. a move down now would be the continuation of an exponential fall.

it's been a stand off with little trade for the last 2 weeks, so there is 2 weeks worth of price action coming up. I'd expect at least a $50 move.

So there is a new slang going around for unconfirmed transactions...it is Dorians Cheesy

Examples: he sent me a Satoshi but it is Dorian Cheesy or I see the incoming transaction but it is still Dorian Cheesy

also a slang for fake reports, my Co-worker newsweeked me Cheesy

I almost pissed my pants from laughing loudly Grin

rofl we must promote this slang throughout the bitcoin community.
2194  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 20, 2014, 10:59:13 PM
sentiment does not work on it's own. speculators feel the same before and after they have pulled the trigger on their views. to read sentiment correctly, one needs the chart. EW analysis or RSI divergance work hand in hand with sentiment.

for example, speculators were crazy about litecoin opening on huobi long before the final surge. but I knew it was crazy to sell against that sentiment then because there was no divergance and much momentum, there is no accounting how far gamblers can push up price. I waited for the fifth wave divergance and shorted on the first down spike at $20.
2195  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 20, 2014, 08:59:37 PM
does anybody think we hit the bottom at 580? its a nice spot, and there is a small reaction. only not much volume.
2196  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 20, 2014, 10:28:28 AM
what happened to teh 593 bid? was it pulled?

I think it was eaten alive
2197  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: March 20, 2014, 10:03:50 AM
Indeed, this is not the time to be selling aggressively on a long term basis. one day we may look down upon this pathetic little down swing and wonder why we risked trading it.

How high is the possibility we will break into 400´?

I am getting tired of such slow returns and bashing from the media, while the mainstream are presented a once in a lifetime opportunity that they do not care for in the least at the moment. The whole scene feels dead. I was promised wall street would enter etc, etc....

.......and thats how we should be feeling at this stage of the wave. we should expect a couple of months before things get really hot again, but right now, they are dead. I think a lot of noobs were just slaughtered in the LTC bubble, and they will not be inspired right now.

There is not a soul buying at 600....  bugger all liquidity, the bears are just toying with the bulls.

Looking at the chart, I think why not 400s, but I also think a smart profit target for shorts is 560. my gut feeling is that we will not see 400 again.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-03-19/chinese-yuan-collapsing

Two ways to look at this:

1) Broke Chinese aren't going to buy shit OR
2) with a crashing RMB, BTC could be a better store of value.

is the yuan crashing or is the USD deflating?

this is consistent with the coming of the US stock market crash.
