I just hate hearing someone else having issues with quality control. I have 18 S3's and all of them have been wonderful except for the PCIe port on one going bad. BITMAINTECH really messed up on the S4's debut. Whoever is responsible for supervising quality control at bitmaintech may need to be fired! I really hope BITMAIN gets the S5 done right on its debut. If they mess up the S5's debut, they will ruin their reputation and have a lot of us running towards Spondoolies, etc.
A lot of us think their reputation is already ruined. They are betraying their customers left and right. Might be too late for them to turn around. M I just think that ESPECIALLY if someone invests that much into that many rigs at one time, AT LEAST make sure the rigs work properly after 24 hours use at a minimum. The whole thing just stinks when investing that much money. More than likely, someone who invests that much will do so again. So, don't ruin it with poor quality control!!!! The whole thing just stinks because I just said, "...they have the best equipment on the planet" in another forum. I HATE eating my words when I see stuff like this!!! |

I KNOW THIS IS AN S4 THREAD. However, not much going on at the S3 thread. So, I'm bringing this question over here:
Has anyone bought an S3 lately and noticed in "miner status" that you have four (4) fans listed when in fact your S3 only has two (2) fans?
Look at mine:

Also, my S3 will allow me to adjust the voltage like an S4 does. My S3 will not RESET properly either. So, I was wondering if BITMAIN installed S4 software on my S3?
Has anyone else noticed this on a new S3 they have purchased?

Predictions: 3 times more chips (underclocked), 2-2.5 times higher GH (hopefully, 1TH), 0.6w/Gh with voltage control for further underclocking to 0.4w/Gh It still makes no sense to display 4 fans on my S3 that has only 2 fans. I'm having problems still with one board shutting down after a few minutes. So, I switched to two PCI-e ports I haven't used for any length of time except to see if they would work. Let's see how long the board stays up now. I got two new S3's along with four (4) new S4's Wednesday, last week. Had them not even a week and I'm starting to have problems with a PCI-e port on an S3 I believe. Neither S3 will reset properly! And they appear to have the wrong software installed on them; meaning S4 software for four (4) fans that can also adjust the voltage. My C1 display shows 4 fans and a C1 has only 1 fan. I think I know why my S3's will not RESET properly. THEY LOADED THE WRONG SOFTWARE ONTO THIS RIG. Both of these S3's have only 2 fans each because they are S3's. However, the software looks like it is for the S4 because it will allow me to change the voltage AND the software has a reading for four (4) fans. This rig only has two fans; it's an S3. I BELIEVE THAT IS THE REASON THESE TWO (2) NEW S3's I PURCHASED WILL NOT RESET PROPERLY! THE WRONG SOFTWARE INSTALLED ON THEM AT THE FACTORY! |

Hi Dogie, Now one of those two miners I said would not reset has a bad board or something. It has gone completely down. Any suggestions? I have not even had these a week yet. I reboot it only to see one board active.  Reboot it again... IT ALSO APPEARS THAT 1 OF THE 2 FANS ARE OUT AS WELL. The software acts like it is for an S4 and as if I have 4 fans with 3 fans out. When in reality I have only 2 fans with 1 fan out. Did they load the wrong software on this miner or what? EVERYTHING WAS GOING FINE UNTIL I GOT THIS EMAIL FROM SLUSH: NOTICE ALL WAS FINE FOR 2 DAYS 18 HOURS... |
